Maple is really awesome.
Lin Ye marvelled at the blade.
Lin Ye was able to roughly understand the characteristics of this blade thanks to Lappland's "enthusiastic" assistance. Simply put, if he did not use this sword, it would be a "useless blade" that cannot cut through skin, but it can be transformed into a "God Blade" that can easily cut off opponents' weapons in his hands.
And this blade appears to have a special protection mechanism for him, as he cannot use it to injure himself.
Maple is completely tailored for him, truly deserving of being from a God. Lin Ye's heart overflows with gratitude for Messiah.
Then he wants to see if Maple has any other abilities. After all, it is a "God Blade," and the mechanism to protect the owner appears insufficient. He wants to know if Maple is still feeling some nefarious killer moves. Like a God slash or something along those lines.
However, after attempting for a day and posing numerous times, he even yelled a plethora of embarrassing attack names. However, nothing happened. Lin Ye had the impression that Lappland was no longer willing to "assist" him, and it was a shame that she would not help Lin Ye no matter what he asked. She was finished, and she threatened to kill Lin Ye if he asked again. Lin Ye had no choice but to give up. The sun had set before he knew it.
Lin Ye can feel the sun fading. He's feeling a bit hungry, all he had to eat was a few cookies and Lin Ye doesn't feel like munching on the rest of them would do him any good.
So, for the time being, he will dismiss the idea of Maple having a cool move. "Go get the firewood, we're gonna light a fire," he says to Lappland after putting Maple in his sheath.
"Huh?" Lappland raises her tail, very upset, "Why do you want me to go? Who do you think you are, ordering me around?"
"Well… I was gonna cook some nice meat on the fireplace for us but since you don't want to-"
"Oh!" Lappland's tail wags immediately, and says with a little excitement, "No problem, just picking firewood? I'm the best at that!"
"By the way. Call Irene out." Lin Ye points to the broken temple and says, "She hasn't gotten out the whole day and she needs to eat something."
Lappland frowns, "That feline? I don't want to. I don't like her"
Lin Ye says helplessly, "I just asked you to call her outside, not make you like her."
"What if she doesn't come out?"
"Can you not persuade her?" Lin Ye glances back to the temple, and then back at Lappland, "Even Texas could do such an easy task"
Originally, Lin Ye just wanted to make a joke, and he left after speaking that. He did not expect Lappland to be serious.
She thought about it for a while and then went to find Irene.
Irene was curled up in the temple's corner, shrouded in darkness. She wished she could stay in this darkness forever; after all, there was no light in her heart.
But the wooden door behind her was kicked open the next second.
The wind blowing in from outside the house picks up dust and sawdust, obscuring the view. She had to squint her eyes, and when the dust settled, she saw a person with long silver-white hair bathed in moonlight, looking down at her.
"How long will you stay here?" The person asks coldly, "Are you going to stay here until you die?"
Irene's lips open slightly out of surprise.
The person says to her again, "Come outside"
Irene lowers her head again. She didn't want to leave the darkness. She didn't want someone to take her away from the darkness. She didn't want to.
A silver sword.
She is startled. Then she hears the person say, "I said go out. I was not asking. That was an order."
An order.
So, Irene follows her to go outside. So, she walks out of the darkness.

When Lin Ye came back from buying meat at night, he hears Lappland's voice from the yard before he arrives there.
"Pick up firewood. Pick up firewood! Can you pick up the firewood?! How could such wet firewood be used to light it up? Are you stupid?"
"..."
"You can't use flint and steel? Are you an idiot, even Texas can use it! My God! I can't stand you, here, try using a match. Don't tell me you can't even use matches."
"..."
"Did you clear the surrounding snow before you set the fire? You didn't even know that? How are you alive?"
Lin Ye's heart sank when he heard Lappland screaming.
Who is Lappland talking to? There should be only her in the yard.
So, he quietly sneaks to look at what is going on. Behind a snow-covered tree, he sees Lappland and Irene.
This surprised him greatly.
In Irene's current state, how could she listen to Lappland and even do the work of collecting firewood?
Lin Ye felt that it was something not right, so he didn't rush in. He looked straight at the yard.
Lappland is sitting under a withered tree, holding her hands behind her head, and biting on a withered grass in her mouth. She is very comfortable pointing to Irene. And Irene is holding a bunch of dry wood, under the guidance of her. She is clumsily doing it all.
She is actually working!
Lin Ye is perplexed. After all, he was the only one who was familiar with Irene's previous situation. That obviously implies that she has no desire to live. She would not be in this world today if it weren't for Maple's characteristics, which prevented her from committing suicide and consumed the courage to commit suicide. Even if she did survive, she was a walking corpse. She didn't leave the temple today, she didn't eat mouth food, she didn't drink water, she didn't say anything...
Okay, the last one was because she can't speak.
It's not much different than being dead in this situation. Lin Ye, on the other hand, had no good solutions for her.
She is not the same as the previous "patients" Lin Ye had met.
Liz's psychological issues stem more from the body, and whether it is the sub-personality trapped in the prison is extremely perplexing. Liz's other self is obsessed with fleeing the darkness and running towards the light. Needless to say, Ifrit appears to be an angsty child on the surface, but she was simply a child who desired to be loved. She will instantly become a good baby if she converses with Saria for a short period of time.
Therefore, both Liz and Ifrit seemed to have their own problems on the surface, but because they both had good wishes and fantasies in their hearts, Lin Ye could easily help them. But Irene didn't have those.
Irene was bought by Galvin Aiben from a slave trader when she was very young and brought her directly to Kjerag. Needless to say, she was used as The Aiben's "special weapon", so she must be locked at home all year round.
In other words, Irene's growth environment is extremely distorted.
Liz, who had a miserable life, was surrounded by Shining and Nearl and much more people. Ifrit, who was made as a test product, was raised by Olivia and Saria.
And Galvin Aiben was most likely the only person who was with Irene from start to finish. So, to Irene, who hasn't seen much of the outside world, Galvin Aiben is a sort of father figure. She is also a coward. Even if her father 'punishes' her and expels her, she refuses to betray her 'father.' Even though she is aware that her "father" wishes for her death, she has not considered retaliation, she has succumbed to despair. She wished to die.
Such a person who has no good past is tortured by life, and cannot see the end of it all, Lin Ye is really having a hard time knowing what to do. Because he discovered that treating Irene in the same manner as Liz and Ifrit had no effect. Lin Ye had intended to wait until he returned her to Rhodes Island.
Lin Ye, on the other hand, touches his chin and looks at Lappland, who is not far away. Despite the fact that Galvin Aiben is a jerk, he should play the role of "Father" in Irene's. And this type of Lin Ye isn't very good at. Lin Ye made the decision to give it a shot.
So, he walks into the yard.
Lappland immediately jumps up from under the tree when he sees him.
"Lappland." Lin Ye says, "You are so majestic. Didn't I ask you to carry the firewood? Why did you throw it all at Irene to do it?"
Facing Lin Ye's question, Lappland is not afraid at all, plausibly says, "I'm just teaching this little girl. If you don't work, you won't have food."
Lin Ye's mouth twitches slightly.
That a really good ideology. But why are you just lazing around? Don't you dare sound smart!
Lin Ye did not express his thoughts. He turns to face Irene. Irene's hands have scratches all over them, most likely from being scratched while collecting firewood. She didn't do these things like this very often. Galvin Aiben didn't buy her to collect firewood, after all.
Lin Ye sighs helplessly.
"Irene. Come here."
She looks at him worryingly, thinking that she did something wrong. She walks towards him.
Lin Ye pulls out his first aid kit. He gently wiped her bloody hand. This took her by surprise. She simply stands there while he goes about his business.
"Sorry if you are hurt. I was the one who asked her for help."
Irene is still deafeningly quiet. She doesn't seem to be bothered by his touch, and she doesn't flinch any longer.
Lappland, indeed, is better suited to "treat" Irene than he was.
So, he gives Lappland a thumbs up and whispers "Good job."
Lappland tilts her head, a little confused.
