Lin Ye returns to the temple. The steadily dimming sky accompanies him, and snow is falling once more.
Lappland runs up to him as soon as he enters the building, circling him like a puppy waiting for her owner to return home, rapidly shaking her tail. Lin Ye is aware that she was not excited for him, but rather the meat in his hands. Irene is still there with her. Twenty minutes later, the smell of barbecue flows throughout the temple.
Lin Ye imagined what would happen if Pramanix were to stumble upon this scene, them having a barbecue in the Holy Temple.
A stone sculpture of god is in the temple. Although Karlan's god is Messiah, the temple's stone statue differs greatly. The person sculpting the statue of stone must never have seen Messiah, so they carved it into a middle old woman. After all, this image is more in line with the illusion of Kjerag people that the God of Karlan is in their hearts than with the true youthful image of Messiah.

"It's all easy to say," Lappland eats the meat that Irene had grilled for her, and Irene was a little nervous.

She looks at him and goes to him. Lin Ye places both of his pointing fingers on each side of her lips. This surprised Irene.
Then, he gently pushes both sides up, making a smile on her face.
"Smile like that more," He smiles happily at her.
Tears started to form at the corner of her eyes, but her smile is still on her face. She rushes towards him and hugs him tightly around his waist. She buries her face in his chest.
Lin Ye was startled at first but slowly hugged her back.
After they were done hugging each other, Lin Ye looked at her face to see her genuine smile was still plastered on her, there are also tears flowing out too. So, he takes out his napkin and wipes them away.

They were enjoying their food. Irene was smiling while cooking more meat. Lappland was devouring all of them in a blink of an eye and Lin Ye just smiles at their interaction.
Everything was fine like he likes it to be
However, Lin Ye noticed something off about Irene when she stopped giving meat to Lappland.
"Irene?" Lin Ye asks as Irene's body suddenly freezes. Not from shock. Frost starts to form around her.
Lin Ye stands up quickly, "What's wrong with you?!"
"What's wrong?" Lappland, who reacted slowly, hears Lin Ye's words. She looks at Irene curiously. Then she sees what is happening to Irene, "What the-?"
Before she can even ask more, the room suddenly shakes.
Lin Ye's expression immediately changes. His first reaction was it was an earthquake.
However, the temperature inside the house also drops by dozens of degrees in an instant, and the chill seems to penetrate through his clothes and into his bones.
Shatter!*
At the same time, the windows in the house shattered, and a storm poured in, mixed with broken ice. The broken ice beneath the turbulent airflow is sharp as a knife, easily piercing Lin Ye's clothes and flesh.
To keep his head from being injured, he had to hold it with his hands. Then he heard the sound of swords unsheathing, and the pressure of the storm he was experiencing lessened. When he opens his eyes, he finds Lappland blocking him, and her swords cause a surge of light in the storm.

Then he feels something is wrong. He looks around and his heart drops when he can't find Irene.

Then he hears the sound of tearing flesh and blood.
Turning his head again, he finds that Lappland's lower abdomen is pierced by a black arrow, and blood splashed on him from the wound at the back.
Lappland stops swinging her sword.
"Lappland!"
Lin Ye changes places with her. He pulls out Maple from its sheath.
He raises his head. See if more arrows were shot at him and Lappland. Then he remembered something.
Twenty seconds later, the holy temple dedicated to the God of Karlan collapsed completely amidst the thundering sound.
