Many chose to fight for Evil in the final battle. It was not suprising when Stalin, Vlad the impaler, emperor Palpatine, or Darkseid chose Evil. The sadists, the nazies, the slavers the sociopaths naturally chose Evil. The conquerers who enslaved others for the "glory" that came with victory. It was not merely the obviously evil, some were just greedy, willing to destroy countless other lives merely to benefit themselves. Those who exploited workers, who sold weapons and din't care who died for their profits. Some were full of hatred, wanted to punish others for the injustices they felt had been done to them, real or imagined. The racists, misogynists, homophobes. Those who were willing to destroy entire civilizations to benefit themselves or their chosen groups. And still others chose Evil for respect and power. Those who had found power through the gun, robbed and raped others merely for a brief feeling of power. Evil ofcourse let them believe they would live in luxury, could take horrible revenge against their enemies. Ofcourse, their plans for revenge contradicted each other. Two crime bosses, each capable of great violence, hated each other with a vengeance. With both stuck in Hell, they still murdered each other repeatedly. Each chose Evil on their own, but their petty feud would have to wait. Terrorists from nearly every cause, just and unjust, they hated each other and believed that, when Evil won the final battle, they would be rewarded with vengeance against their old enemies. Racists from different races, hated each other and likely would not have been willing to fight together if they had a choice. Evil had a way to remedy this. Once they chose Evil knowing how it would bring much pain to so many innocent people, they lost their free will. They became nothing more than drones, some with skills with firearms or technology. But they had no independant thoughts. Apparently Evil had decided it no longer needed to worry about developing strategy. It did indeed have the numbers for a final assault on Earth, and wipe out the last surviving heroes. These drones could be killed, and would merely return to Hell. They would not care about their own survival, the will of their leader was now absolute. Evil regreted that the souls who remained on Earth were forever out of his reach. Once they were wiped out, they would be safe in Heaven. Still, this also meant they would never again be able to twart his plans again. Evil of course was able to take a final form for the final battle. If this mortal form was defeated, he would be vanquished. But it had the numbers, and maybe it could play off Good's weakness about killing. Evil enjoyed this new form, it was of a particularly evil individual, one whose darkness transcended time and space. And this mortal had been honored to bond with the darkness itself. Evil was now taking the form of Adolf Hitler.
