MexSlov: Drinking Game

"So, you ready for this?" Mexico asked, sitting down with the remote in her hand.

Slovakia looked over all the bottles of tequila on the coffee table and grinned. He was an Eastern European, so he wasn't intimidated by a bit of alcohol.

"Go ahead," he said.

They had the rules for the drinking game on Mexico's phone. They would try to play the game by watching a movie, and the idea was to see who got wasted first.

Half an hour passed without a problem, and they'd already had a few shots, and even one entire glass. Slovakia started to scratch his arm, but it wasn't until an entire hour passed that he started to feel that something was wrong. And when the movie was in the climax, he looked down at his arm and his eyes widened.

"Um, Rosa," he said. "I think I have a problem."

Mexico paused the movie and turned towards him, before her eyes widened. She gingerly took his arm and examined the rash.

"What happened?" she demanded. "Did you eat something or…?"

"Not that I could think of," he said. His other arm had a similar rash, and when he lifted his shirt, there was one growing on his stomach. "Do you have an antihistamine or something?"

"You shouldn't drink something like that now. With all the tequila, you'll be out like a…" Her eyes widened. "Um, Sam… Have you ever had tequila before?"

"Not that I can recall. Why?"

"Were you itching before the movie?" she asked.

"No…"

Mexico sighed.

"I think you're allergic to the tequila," she said. "Come on. I've got some ointment in my bathroom. Let's go get that rash dealt with."

Slovakia felt a bit like a kicked puppy. He didn't entirely want to believe that he was allergic to Mexico's favourite drink, but knew that she wasn't going to let this matter rest, now that the idea was planted in her head.

Still, he hoped that she would still play with him.

I once played a drinking game with my sister, and then I started to itch really badly. We tried it again later, and I itched again. And then there was a third and fourth time. So we came to the conclusion that I might be allergic to the vodka.

And apparently, mixing an antihistamine with alcohol is an extremely bad idea. The combination is used as a date rape drug because alcohol can increase the antihistamine's side-effect of drowsiness. My sister had a friend who was studying chemistry and told her about this.
