Sonic prompt
Can you do Classic sonamy AND modern Sonamy interacting?
Amy stood on the side of a large plateau, gazing up at the stars and moon.
She had her hands behind her back and just contently stared at it, and before long, a strong gust of wind pushed her hair slightly back, and she lowered her head to smile.
"You're up late."
"I was about to say the same thing."
Amy giggled, turning to see Sonic walking up next to her.
They shared a smile and nodded, before both turning up to look at the moon again, Sonic folding his arms, being relaxed and a moment went by where the two didn't really speak for a second.
Out of impatience, Sonic began the conversation. "So…" in his anxiousness to not remain still, he looked at his foot and tilted it up, stretching slightly on the opposite side, and keeping himself animated and moving. "What brings you out here so late? Can't possible be the same old stars in the sky you see every night."
He was joking, and Amy just rolled her eyes, shaking her head, but still thinking him rather charming.
"I was just getting some air." She lowered her head and kept a content smile on her face, not showing her usual cheeriness like usual. "But I am getting a little tried." She admitted, looking back to him.
"Well, for walking all the way out here for a little fresh air, I'd have to say you're missing out on the snore fest that Knuckles's been starting up. Trust me, Tails and the others have been having a blast." He rolled his head back, before slowly letting it fall in her direction, as she laughed with him.
"Is it that bad?"
"You escaped the worst of it. Tails calculated the next concert of Knuckles's assorted snorts and whistled symphonies should be airing any minute now."
Amy just shook her head as Sonic continued to laugh at his own jokes.
"Come on, that's funny." He struck a cool pose, as Amy just admired him trying to cheer her up.
He knew there was something fishy about her just up and leaving the base this late at night. He had heard some footsteps, being a light sleeper as he was, but was really intrigued to see it was Amy, who was usually sound asleep before most.
He followed her out a ways before deciding to stay back a bit, but seeing her stop and just staring at the stars made him worry a little bit…
She used to do that whenever she-
Suddenly, a cry came out from behind them.
Sonic and Amy turned, before Amy's face lit up with joy, seeing her younger self coming over a small hill and crying out again, looking for her…
"Over here!" Amy smiled, calling to her and waving her arm around for her to see her, having the other cup her mouth to the side and make the sound travel farther.
Classic Amy caught a glimpse of her and the same lit up expression came across her face, as she dashed towards her older self whom she learned to love so much.
However, on the decent down, she stumbled on her feet and started to roll.
The two on-watchers let out their own sound of seeing such distress, even putting a hand forward, as if ready to help when the little pink hedgehog curled up into a ball and just bounced the rest of the way down.
Amy sighed in relief, as Sonic shook his head, and turned to Amy. "Some things never change."
She slightly gave him a mocking glare, as he kept his nonchalant face, but gave into her funny look with a matching smile of his own.
Classic Amy rolled out, landing on her butt, before getting up, dusting herself off, and racing to Amy with her arms out.
Amy happily ran forward and scooped her up, cuddling her in her arms.
Almost like a tender mother and daughter moment, you'd have never guessed these two were the same girl but just in different times.
Classic Amy was always seeking someone to show love to her, and knowing how that felt to be ignored, Amy would always try her best and spend time with her, letting her know she was loved, and boys just show love differently sometimes.
"Aw, haha! I'm glad you found me." She had her younger self leaned up against her face, just happy to hug someone who wanted to hug her back.
She put her down then, dusting her off further from the dirt in her spiky hair. "Did you have a bad dream too?"
Sonic suddenly turned from his relaxed attitude at the kinda touching but weird scene and stared at Amy…
Classic Amy looked away, a little nervous to answer, but also silent like Classic Sonic.
Amy giggled and patted her head, "There, there. Look, I want to show you something someone taught me a long time ago." She gently coaxed her younger self around to look up.
"There, you see the moon?" She pointed up at the bright moon in the sky, as Sonic looked up to stare at it too, still a little unsure of why she wouldn't tell him she had a nightmare, and that's why she had gotten up so late in the night.
"Even though it's so far away, it's light, however dim it may be, it still gives light to the whole world!" She stretched out her arms, as little Amy watched her, and a huge, open grin came across her face. "Hehe, it means you're never alone! No matter how dark it gets… never think it's too dark to keep dreaming."
Her last line suddenly made Sonic turn back, a look of realizing where he had heard that before, and the surprise of the memory flooded back to him in an instant.
"Heh." He smirked, closing his eyes before strutting up besides her, "That sounds awfully familiar, I wonder who told you that?"
"Hmm, don't recall." She smirked, looking away. "But he must have been pretty smart."
Sonic's pride skyrocketed as he rose his head up and struck a bit of a confident pose, scratching his nose and amusing himself over how awesome he can be, even when he was young.
As Amy gave another hug to her younger self, who seemed to very much enjoy that story, getting excited and wiggling her tail, putting her fists up to her face cutely; Amy gestured for her to turn back home and get some sleep.
"Now, you know Sonic's gonna get cold if you're not there to cuddle him up!"
Sonic twitched, "Don't encourage her!" he broke his look of pride and whispered a spat to Amy, who just looked up to him with a sly look in her face.
"Whose encouraging who?"
His face suddenly dropped, and she smirked all the more.
Classic Amy, before bounding off back to the base, stopped a moment as if forgetting something, lunging her arms back and then twirling back around, racing to Amy to get one more hug goodnight!
"Offph!" Amy laughed as she jumped right back in her arms, and she got up again to hold her tighter. "Aww~ Hehe, Goodnight to you too~"
Classic Amy, while nestling up close to her older self, then noticed Sonic out of the corner of her eye, and instantly turned and tried to reach out to him, wanting and… hoping he might actually hug her too.
Sonic stepped back and leaned away, a little uncomfortable with that gesture as Amy just laughed once more, never getting enough of the nostalgia, and pulled her back further into her arms. "Silly! He's mine! You have to your own, remember?" she patted her head on the top of her younger self, as if humorously scolding her like a child.
Classic Amy just pouted cutely, squinting her eyes and then smiling at thinking about her Sonic back home~
"…Why didn't you…" Sonic looked away, but gained Amy's interest as she turned to him, blinking her eyes curiously.
"Hmm?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" He folded his arms again, but kept his eyes away from making contact with hers.
"Huh? Oh." She stepped towards him, and with the most serious expression, leaned forward near his face. "You're mine. Hehe~"
"Wha?!" He jumped back, "No! Not th-! Ugh." He turned away again, probably flustered, as Amy and Classic Amy both laughed.
Suddenly, as quick as light, another gust of wind that the Amys noticed, but Sonic seemed to just pick up.
The three turned to see a blue blur, suddenly fading to a dark blue body in the night, as he looked over the hill, and noticed Classic Amy in Modern Amy's arms.
He called down to her.
"Aw, look who didn't forget you~" Amy cuddled and swung Classic Amy in her arms, before looking back at Sonic, who gave her a look of being slightly upset, but looked away as if not really caring.
Amy giggled again, turning to the blue body, waiting to take Classic Amy back where it was safe.
"He missed you~" she teased, whispering to her younger self, who squee'd at the tickling Amy slightly gave her.
"Alright, sweetie. Take care, now. Don't get lost!" She put her younger self down as she took off, Sonic turned a moment from his pouting face to see her dash off, and watched to make sure she made it over the hill okay.
The two looked off, thinking the same thing about Classic Amy, but she was able to climb up the steep places she had tripped over before and waved back to them, proving she was alright and capable herself, before tackling her Sonic with affections, and then him picking her up and carrying her off back to the base.
"She may be a bit clumsy, but she's a tough one." Amy smiled.
"…I know." Sonic rolled his eyes. "She gets better at her footwork though."
The two looked at each other with gentle smiles, before Sonic stepped back, scratching his head.
"You used to tell me about your nightmares."
"I didn't want to worry you." She knew full well he worried, and it was comfort for her to know that he cared so much…
"Well, I don't like being out of the know!"
Sonic turned around to her, hands on his hips, leaning forward, showing he was just slightly offended by her lying to him.
"How'd you find me?" Amy matched his look, but with a bit more 'Huh? You gonna tell me? If not, I don't have to tell you!'.
He turned his face to the side,… and then stood upward, backing down from the fight, and not wanting to answer.
"… You really do get cold, don't you?" She turned around and stuck her tongue at him from behind, as he twitched and glared at her, shaking his fist.
"You're never that close around me!" he said through gritted teeth. "Stop suggesting weird things!"
"I'm not! I'm just saying is all~" she played innocent, which really, she was just making fun of him, not trying to suggest anything other than he liked her company.
She spun around, her back facing him, and stared at the moon again, her arms behind her, rocking on one of her heels slightly as the other hung back, bended a bit.
"Hmph." He didn't like the subject, and quickly tried to dodge it with something else.
Thinking fast, he started on another topic he wanted answers too, "I used to say a lot of cool things, to get you to relax and take a chill pill."
He put his arms behind his head, and looked down to her with more of a cheery demeanor this time.
"Tend to quote me, often?" he almost tilted his head and lowered his eyes as if he was being flirty.
"Depends," Amy also broke her last position, turning around again, swinging her body slightly more in a cute way, and started to ascend up the hill. "What's your definition of… 'often'?"
He smiled and followed her up, racing ahead of course, liking to be in the first place spot, before turning around and walking backwards.
"How do I know you're properly quoting me?"
"I made you sound good, didn't I?" Amy cocked her head.
He stopped a moment, looking up, a little silly. "Touche… Woah!"
"Sonic!" Amy cried out, seeing him forget about the steep climb that was coming up and ramming into it.
"Ahhh,…" he clutched his head, before looking up and smiling. "Guess some of that klutzy kids stuff still lingers a bit, huh?"
The two laughed their heads off.
Calming down for a minute, Sonic's gaze took him back up at the dark sky for a moment, staring at the moon.
He remembered when he had said that…
He remembered how he had felt after hearing her fears about Metal Sonic returning too…
He closed his eyes and smiled, remembering her reaction to his words and how in the same excitement as her Classic self, she had leapt into his arms, and begged him to never leave her side, not ever, so she could always sleep soundly at night.
With new found energy, he let out a chuckle and raced up the hill at lightning speeds. "I bet I could quote you better! Word for word!" he shouted down to her, having dodged the steepness with his speed, and waited for her to make it, having his back towards her.
"Oh yeah? Like with what?" She giggled, this was the most Sonic had paid attention to her since forever!
As she started her climb, he straightened out his body,.. a wicked grin scrolling over his muzzle.
"Oh, Sonic. If you married me, we could have way more fun than trashing that Eggman guy.."
Amy's hand slipped and her face froze as she blushed at remembering her line when she was young. "T-THAT'S-! THAT'S OUT OF CONTEXT!"
"Oh, it was in context alright. Perfectly clear to me!"
He dashed ahead, as Amy bolted up the hill. "SOOONNNICCC! That's not what I had meant!"
"Riiighhhhttt~" a fainted echo was heard from up top the hill.
Amy's head lowered as her fingers started to twitch in rage.
She summoned her hammer, hitting the side of the wall and getting enough momentum to shoot up and over it. "SOOONNICCC!"
He looked back over his shoulder, amused over her anger, and glad he had made her forget about her bad dreams, at least… for now.
Happy Anniversary you cuties! Especially Happy Birthday to Amy and Metal Sonic! :D (Sorry, you're only slightly mentioned in here!)
;)
