Chapter 334
When Kera got her wrists free of her bindings, Elain lifted an eyebrow in question. She watched the blonde rotate her wrists, rubbing at the red skin there before that blonde hair was flicked back over her shoulder and she slumped back against the wall with a sigh.
"… How did you do that?" Tisia asked, tugging at her own bindings. "Can you show me?"
"Sure." Kera sighed, shuffling toward Tisia. The blonde showed Tisia how to loosen the knots and slip free and Elain just watched in disbelief. How in the world would Kera know how to do that? A single thought flashed through Elain's mind and she shuddered at the thought. Perhaps she didn't want to know why Kera would know how to do that.
"Oh… Thanks!" Tisia rubbed at her own wrists, making a pained face as she did so. "That felt awful…"
"Would you like…?" Kera looked at Ashk and Elain and Elain blinked in surprise when Ashk simply lifted her own unbound hands to show that she was already free.
"How?" She asked, looking at Lucien's mother who gave a non-committal shrug.
"I've been through rubbish like this before." Ashk exhaled heavily. "It's a good skill to learn." Elain made a face and nodded, supposing that was true. She hoped that it would never be something that she would need again, but one could truly never know.
"I… I would like…" she looked to Kera who reluctantly moved closer to her. Elain watched as the blonde showed her how to twist her wrists and slip free of the binding and she made a surprised sound when she was free of them. "Oh!" She looked at Kera, unable to help a smile, "Thank you."
"No problem." Kera muttered, shuffling back to her own place.
Elain just looked at the blonde, wondering if she should say something else to her but then the door opened again and they all looked around as Eria and Amala were pushed inside. Tisia was instantly alert and Noor pushed herself to her knees.
"There you are!" Eria rushed across the room to them, dropping down beside Tisia and wrapping her bound wrists around her in a hug. "I was worried."
"So was I." Tisia rubbed Eria's back gently, and Elain looked toward the door again.
"Why did they bring you in here?" she asked, "What about the others? Where are they?" She pushed herself to her feet and moved carefully toward the door.
"What are you doing?" Amala asked, and Elain turned to glance at her. "… they could come back." Amala added, "They could find you…"
"I just wanted to see…" Elain grasped the door handle, jiggling it a bit when it refused to turn. "Locked…" She wasn't really surprised, but she sighed nonetheless and turned back to the others, moving to resume her previous spot beside Ashk. "… do you think they're coming for us yet?" She asked, softly. Russet eyes shifted to meet her gaze and Ashk leaned toward her.
"They would be well on their way to working out where we are."
"Really?"
Nodding, Ashk gave her a soft smile. "Neither my son nor his father are able to sit by while something like this happens…"
"You're right." Elain murmured, "Lucien can never sit still…"
"Too much heat his in blood." Ashk replied, a proud smile on her pretty face. Elain smiled in return.
"You think," Amala cut in, and Elain hadn't realised that she had been listening, "that they will figure out where we are?"
"Of course." Elain replied confidently.
"How can you be sure?" Amala asked.
Elain smiled at her. "Because Lucien is my mate." She said, "I know every part of him, and he will never be able to stop until he finds me."
"Must be nice." Amala said softly, "To be that sure."
Tilting her head, Elain nodded. "It is."
