THE END WAR – NARUTO VS BORUTO
The Imperial Palace
"That was clever of mother to transfer the energy to you. After all you are the only person who can hope to stand against me now. Don't fool yourself though, Uzumaki Naruto, I don't care about whether you live or die. All I need to do is push 'death' energy into that machine. Maybe you will be able to survive, but everyone else will die."
"Don't call Hinata your mother. You are not Boruto."
The Hive Mind chuckles. "Why do you oppose me, isn't it strange? When Boruto joined Tao Ma he did so willingly because Tao Ma was right. There are countless pocket-worlds just like yours that weren't strong enough to fight back. Next time Homeworld goes rogue who will protect them, you? What happens when someone stronger than you appears; when there is no hope of fighting back?"
"I'll entrust that to those who come after me."
"If you gathered the pocket-worlders and protected them I would not object. My objective is to kill the people of Homeworld, not you. As far as I can tell for you it would only mean losing Endou-Hyuuga Hinata. A small price to pay for freedom from the threat of Homeworld."
"I said no."
"Very well."
Boruto rushes towards Jonas's machine. He has a head start on Naruto and he is fast, faster than anyone the Hokage has ever faced before. The likes of Princess Emilie and Ashen have powers that can enhance their speed, Jonas was a power monster, but even they did not have speed like this. However, there is one person in the world that can keep up with that speed, that can surpass that speed. That man is the 7th Hokage Uzumaki Naruto. For the first time since fusing his tablets he activates his divine oddity, One-Hundred Percent Detonation.
Boruto stretches his hand, about to reach the machine. Just as his fingertips approach the machine it moves to the side, a result of Naruto's Energy Projection. Boruto changes direction but is astonished at the speed with which his father moves. Naruto launches at the machine moving quicker than Boruto can dream of. The second he has it in his hand he flies into the distance, moving until he is content that the distance between himself and the others is enough. It doesn't take long for Boruto to catch up to him, but the fight has been relocated. The people are safe for now.
"Moving the fight away from the others, that's clever," Boruto says. "But all it will do is delay the inevitable. I know how much energy we have now that we have fused our elements. How much of that energy have you got back, half?"
"Half is all I need to defeat you," Naruto says.
Naruto watches Boruto clutch at his head for a moment. He hesitates, what is happening?
"Dad… stop it! … Dad…"
"Boruto!"
"Don't… hold… back…" Boruto says. "… finish it… no matter what… you have to do…"
Naruto smiles. "Don't worry Boruto, my plan for you hasn't changed from day one. From the moment I saw that strange power hurting you my goal hasn't changed, I am going to save you, no matter what it takes."
The Hive Mind regains control.
"Ha-ha, you won't be able to do anything Uzumaki. You and your son, it ends here."
"Then let's get this over with."
Boruto smiles. He does exactly what Naruto feared, he lifts his hand to the front of his face and activates his own divine oddity, the Death Mask. The moment the Death Mask is activated Boruto disappears, exactly as Naruto predicted. Naruto did however expect that Boruto would be easier to detect now that his One True Sense is stronger. But the Death Mask is more powerful than ever now that Boruto is a such a powerful warrior, even the Pocket Emperor can't detect him. He does however predict that he will be attacking Jonas's machine, so he stands near the machine and uses Energy Projection to create a shield around it.
Naruto suffers a sudden attack from behind, an attack that he didn't see coming. Previously the Death Mask gave away its position at the last second, but now it doesn't even seem to have that weakness. It is making Boruto completely undetectable. The moment he is struck Naruto swings his leg behind him, hoping that he will catch Boruto with a kick, but it doesn't work, he hits nothing but air. Instead, less than a second later Naruto is hit from in front by an attack he fails to detect. As he falls to the ground he recognises the attack for what it was, it was a Rasengan.
Boruto can even disguise his techniques now.
Naruto is struggling for a way to fight back, but then he comes up with an idea. He projects a series of 'sand' platforms, he then throws himself rapidly from these sand platforms around a huge area. Boruto may have the advantage of knowing where he is, but Naruto has a total speed and power advantage. Naruto bounces between the platforms for several seconds before he hits Boruto. Boruto knew this was coming and times a counterstrike well, hitting Naruto with another Rasengan. They are both thrown back, both equally hurt, but at least Naruto has now landed one attack.
"How are you going to find him?" Kurama asks.
"I'm open to suggestions Kurama!"
The invisible Boruto approaches his father with the Step Burst technique. Now he is even faster using the power than he was before having watched his grandfather use it. He arrives next to Naruto and now hears the voice of another, of his uncle. He grabs Naruto by the arm and spins beneath that arm once. He then brings a kunai to his hand before driving his elbow painfully down into Naruto's arm. As Naruto cries out in pain Boruto raises the kunai before slamming it down towards the arm of his father.
Naruto draws a kunai of his own. He lifts it over his arm and knocks Boruto's from his hand. He then drops his own kunai and punches Boruto in the gut, forcing the Shadow Hokage to relinquish his arm. Next, Naruto turns to face his son and powers-up his arm with Kurama's 'might' energy. Adding this to his One-Hundred Percent Detonation means that this attack will be incredibly powerful.
'That's impossible,' Boruto tells himself. 'He couldn't possibly see me while I'm using the Death Mask.'
Then things become clear to the Hive Mind when Naruto's head swings around. The 7th Hokage's eyes are shut.
'That Path Light technique gives you advice from your family. Don't think that I don't know Neji's moves,' Naruto says.
Naruto strikes Boruto, throwing him backwards, the first victory in any exchange of strikes by the Pocket Emperor. The Crown Prince spends a whole minute recovering from this attack, such is the power of the technique. He knows that he could rush this, but he has no intention of doing that. If he is clever he can take Naruto down for more than a few seconds. With Naruto unable to interfere it will be easy to break through his Energy Projection shield around the machine. Once that shield is broken the Hive Mind will have won and the people of Homeworld will be dead.
Boruto walks slowly around his father for several minutes, looking for the perfect opening. Then, after hearing many suggestions from his Path Light ability, he decides what he will do. He will implement two suggestions, but he will finish with his own manoeuvre, he won't let Naruto predict what he is going to do. First he teleports to the front of the 7th Hokage with the Flying Thunder God technique. Next, he uses Adamantine Sealing Chains to hold Naruto in position. Finally, he raises his hand above his head, gathers golden 'death-fate' fused-energy upon it and slams it down just below Naruto's shoulder.
Boruto quickly leaps back before Naruto can escape the Adamantine Sealing Chains.
He has taken his father's left arm!
"Are you alright Naruto?" Kurama asks.
"I'm…"
Before Naruto can answer the tailed-beast he is attacked from behind, a Rasen-Bomb to the back of his head knocks him to the ground. Boruto pins him down from behind, hitting him in the rear of the head several times. Boruto has taken advantage of his father's momentary confusion, of his weakness in this moment, of his hesitation while fighting his son. He keeps striking the back of Naruto's head without mercy until he feels the 7th Hokage weaken beneath him and he sees the Energy Project shield disappear.
Happy with the result of his latest attack Boruto walks towards Jonas's machine.
"Stop him!" the tailed-beasts all implore Naruto.
Naruto exercises his control over living objects. He manipulates some grass and uses it to grab Boruto's leg. The Shadow Hokage looks back over his shoulder and smiles tauntingly at Naruto, breaking free of restraints like this is easy to him. He continues to walk forward, effortlessly breaking free of the grassy restraint.
Boruto has done it.
The Hive Mind has done it.
It places its hand on the device and floods it with 'death' energy.
Naruto looks up into the sky and sees the result. The tailed-beasts all cry out in anguish, they have failed. 'Death' energy descends from above and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it. Naruto swings his hand over the top of him, creating a golden 'life-fate' fused-energy dome around himself. This protects him from Boruto's attack but there is nothing he can do for everyone else. From inside the dome he hears an explosion that seems to continue without stopping. He can feel the inherent 'life' energy of Homeworld fading away, he can feel death on a scale that nobody has ever experienced before.
When it is done Naruto can hardly contain his fury, he dissipates the dome and stands from beneath it, looking around at the carnage. The Homeworld he saw just seconds before ago gone, replaced by a barren and empty wasteland partially covered by remnants of Boruto's wispy-grey 'death' energy. The Hive Mind really has done it, it has eliminated all Homeworld 'life'. The purpose it was given by the Dark Dimension all those years ago has at last been fulfilled.
"Ha-ha-ha, I've done it! I've done it!" the Hive Mind cheers through Boruto. "All these years, all these observations, all these tribulations it hasn't been for nothing. I knew that your pocket-world was special when I went there, I knew that it was key! I knew that Uzumaki Boruto, the other warrior to master 'death' energy on his own would be vital. I believed that he would become even more useful to me than Tao Ma was and now he has fulfilled my purposes. I've done it Uzumaki! I've done it Pocket Emperor.
"Homeworld is dead!"
Boruto continues to laugh maniacally.
"… are a…"
Boruto stops laughing and looks at Naruto.
"What was that Pocket Emperor?"
"You are a fool, Hive Mind."
"Oh?"
Naruto leaps at the Hive Mind, he powers-up his leg with 'might' energy and kicks Boruto away from Jonas's machine. He places his hand on it and keeps it protected. He walks forward and uses Energy Projection to surround the machine once again with a shield. The Hive Mind doesn't understand the reason for the confidence on Naruto's face as the 7th Hokage proceeds. Why would he be confident in this situation? Hasn't Naruto just lost?
"Do you think that's enough to keep me down?"
"Huh?"
"I still remember what Boruto said. 'The Hive Mind becomes vulnerable when it has completed its mission. When every Homeworlder has been killed it will take control of your body. The only way to destroy the Hive Mind forever would be to kill it after that has happened.' You are a fool. There was only one way to save Boruto and everyone else from you. I let this happen."
"You let me kill everyone so that you could defeat me? Ha-ha, thank you Naruto, you are a bigger fool than I thought. I have already succeeded in my mission, killing me now accomplishes nothing for you. But if you want to try to end my life give it your best shot, now I can finally live for something other than that one purpose!"
"You won't survive much longer."
"Let's see if you're still so confident after I have taken your second arm," Boruto says as he re-activates his Death Mask.
"You won't be able to," Naruto says.
Boruto makes his way covertly towards Naruto, confident that he will win yet again. He has all the time in the world to plan his attack, he has the advice of many of his ancestors including Naruto at hand. In addition the 7th Hokage has no way to work out where he is. He could run to the other side of Homeworld if he wanted, although it is not necessary. Naruto may have been uniquely qualified to defeat Jonas, but the Hive Mind knows that Boruto is similarly qualified to defeat Naruto. That is why what happens next shocks the Hive Mind.
Naruto bursts forward and strikes Boruto in spite of the Death Mask. Boruto is stunned. The Shadow Hokage moves to block the next strike but it is moving too fast for him. Using his One-Hundred Percent Detonation combined with Kurama's 'might' energy, Naruto is moving too fast for even a two-armed Boruto to keep up. The attacks continue to land against Boruto time and time again. Boruto teleports behind Naruto, hoping to elude him, but it doesn't work. Naruto turns on the spot and kicks Boruto in the head, throwing him to the ground for a moment.
'This is impossible,' the Hive Mind determines, 'How is he locating me in spite of the Death Mask?'
Naruto creates a Life-Gathering Rasengan in hand and leaps towards Boruto.
The Hive Mind realises what is happening. 'I see it now. He isn't just using Energy Projection to protect the machine. He is combining it with Furst's Micro-Control power. There are tiny particles of his energy everywhere, so small that I didn't notice them. Every time I move he can feel that I am pushing a bunch of them to the side. He doesn't need to see, hear, or even smell me. He can detect exactly where I am using the combination of these techniques.'
Naruto comes to a halt right in front of Boruto.
The Hive Mind starts.
"Leave my family alone, Rasengan!"
Naruto drives the Life-Gathering Rasengan into Boruto's chest. He adds a lot of his own energy to the attack, maximising the power of the technique. It is a clean hit; the Hive Mind had no chance to evade. He is happy, this is surely the best he could have done under the circumstances. He continues to push until he feels the power of the technique running out, until he is sure that he has done everything he could have done. When the power of the Life-Gathering Rasengan runs out Naruto withdraws his hand.
Naruto is startled.
Boruto has not moved.
The Shadow Hokage removes his Death Mask.
"What a mistake," Boruto laughs. "The great Uzumaki Naruto failed to realise something so simple. How amusing."
"What?"
"The Life-Gathering Rasengan. Normally it is your most powerful technique, capable of defeating anyone. However, your technique has become useless in this place. Look around you, what 'life' energy are you gathering? There is no life in Homeworld anymore, just you and me. Attack me as much as you want Uzumaki Naruto, but it will not work. In this desolate place you are not strong enough to defeat me anymore."
Boruto begins to gather power in his hand.
Naruto starts, he doesn't recognise this technique.
"The Path Light is recommending something that Boruto hasn't done before," Boruto says as his hand begins to move. "Observe, this is the most powerful attack developed by the previous emperor. This is Endou Akashi's greatest attack, the Fused-Hundred-Punches technique!"
The power on Boruto's arm increases more and more as the seconds pass. The Shadow Hokage has much more energy to spare than Naruto. As the 7th Hokage looks at the power amassing he begins to plot his counterstrategy, but it is hard to think of a way of fighting back against something like that. Then things get worse, 'death' energy begins to pool towards the arm of the Crown Prince. He isn't just doing the Fused-Hundred-Punches, he is using it with Death-Gathering. He is combining techniques from the 1st and 3rd Emperors of Homeworld.
"Have you got anything that can fight back against that?" Kurama asks.
"It depends on how well you and I can work together Kurama. This will either help us to win or it will kill us."
"Those always seem to be the options."
Naruto chuckles. "Kurama, do you trust me?"
"I'm placing my energy in your hands Naruto. Do with it what you will. Go now, Uzumaki Naruto. Win this fight, save everyone again, just as you always do. Show the world just what you are made of. And yes, I will always trust you. Be who you have always been destined to be.
"Be our hero."
Boruto rushes towards Naruto with the Death-Gathering Fused-Hundred-Punches in hand. He runs to become the only living thing in Homeworld. Stood just before Naruto he finally unleashes his most powerful technique. He attacks.
Boruto can't follow what happens next. Naruto's motions are a blur.
The Shadow Hokage starts when his arm finishes the punching motion. He looks around and sees different surroundings. He has been knocked through the roof of the Imperial Palace and into the upper atmosphere. There is a delay before the great pain underneath his chin sets in. He refuses to believe what his senses are telling him. Could it be that Naruto not only avoided his attack but knocked him all the way up here before he even realised what was happening? How could such a thing be possible?
In a flash a 'sand' platform appears before Boruto and Naruto is pressed up against it, ready to pounce.
The 7th Hokage's delay leaves the Hive Mind enough time to see what has happened. The fused energy that Naruto is wielding has changed, he has once again done the impossible. The energy now has white 'life' energy in it, it has yellow 'fate' energy in it, and it also has a third type of energy present. Naruto has done what everyone thought was impossible, he has fused a third type of energy into his own, somehow completely syncing the energy circuits of himself and Kurama for a moment.
Naruto has fused 'might' energy as well.
"I told you," Naruto says. "Leave my family alone!"
Naruto launches off the platform and punches Boruto in the gut. It is the power of a warrior who has temporarily merged three different types of energy together, the power of the strongest warrior Homeworld has ever seen. It is less than one-hundredth of a second's worth of contact, but Naruto puts everything into that fraction of a second. He drives Boruto down from the upper atmosphere to Homeworld. He follows quickly behind, moving as fast as he can. He descends just twenty meters above the falling Boruto and creates a 'sand' platform below to catch him. As Boruto hits the 'sand' platform Naruto presses a foot into his chest, driving him down once again through the densely collected 'sand'.
The final strike pushes Boruto all the way down to the earth below the 'sand' and throws that 'sand' all over Homeworld.
When the 'sand' falls to the ground the result is clear.
Boruto is dead.
The Hive Mind is gone.
Naruto quickly stops fusing 'might' energy with his own, weary that every second he does so risks both his and Kurama's lives. He runs over to Boruto and places his hand on his son's chest. He pushes 'life' energy into Boruto, praying that this will work, praying that everything will still be OK. He does this for ten seconds and nothing happens. He feels memories of Sakura's death returning to him, memories of one of his most traumatic failures. But then it happens.
Boruto inhales!
Boruto is alive!
Naruto looks at his son, waiting to hear what has happened. He is delighted with the confirmation he receives.
"It's gone…" Boruto says. "The Hive Mind… you did it… you destroyed the Hive Mind."
Naruto has won!
Naruto has saved his son!
The 7th Hokage smiles for a moment before looking to the barren wasteland that the Hive Mind left behind. Now there is only one obstacle left. One thing standing between them and a free Homeworld.
Freedom is very near.
But as always, freedom is not without its price.

Who asks how much of the story was planned before hand?
That is a big question and I will try to give as much detail as possible.
Part 1- Hope, A Thing of the Past
Part 1 was the basis for every plan. This part was entirely planned.
Notable foreshadowing includes:
- The Hokage dropping from the sky in the same way they would in THE END WAR.
- Boruto's 'death' energy
- Boruto and Mirai being the only ones to see the portal and therefore the only ones who could have used fusion
- Boruto mentions Lara for the first time
Part 2 - Making the Impossible Possible
The majority of this part was planned, the exception being the issue with Naruto's arm which was in response to a review pointing out a plothole.
Minato's health issues were planned so that Boruto could be in the captained-six contest and unlock the Tenseigan.
Mito's death was planned as it would advance the character arcs of Hashirama, Tobirama and Tsunade.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Minato's health issues were there so that he could eventually receive the nine-tails from Kushina which in turn showed of Naruto's healing powers
Part 3 - The Battle for the Earth
The individual matchups in the captained-six contest were not planned, except for Naruto vs Clyde.
'Life' energy was planned in advance as was it being used to save Sarada from 'death' energy which hadn't been identified yet.
Part 4 - Rebirth of the Leaf
This part wasn't planned, it was mostly an impulse decision to develop Shikadai and Shinki's characters.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Jashin foreshadowed attempts to create a pocket-worlder compatible divine ability
Part 5 - War Never Ends
The return of Colonel Martin with his sister was planned, as was the fact that they would be facing Minato.
Clyde vs Lara was always the plan, as was Clyde winning.
Naruto and Sarada vs Hashirama and Boruto was always planned, as was the fact that Hashirama would win.
Dan's death was planned to add to Tsunade's character arc.
At the start of the story I believe my plan was that Clyde would kill Lara, that changed at some point while writing this part.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Mentions of the emprie from Clyde incited the first glimpses of Hinata's true power
- Tsunade lost her partner and grandfather as well as learning sage mode, hinting that she would become a 'death' user
- Tao Ma's followers behaviour foreshadowed the Hive Mind
Part 6 - A New World
It was in planning for part 6 that Hannah was created. Hannah's character arc, killing Lara, becoming Naruto's student, defeating Max with Clyde, was all planned here.
The way Carmen would be defeated was planned from the beginning.
Lara's conversations with Mirai and Clyde, which would in time develop into half-romantic relationships, was planned here.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Lara's future connections with Hannah, Clyde, and Mirai
- Although unnamed the One True Sense was introduced
Part 7 - The Imperial Palace
This is where the first big difference is. I initially intended for them to go through with an attack on Furst and for everyone to split up after it failed.
Muto Sora would have arrived here and died with little more than an introduction.
I believed that it would be more impactful if Sora died after becoming Naruto's teacher.
The return of Sasuke and Sakura was planned several parts before this, I can't remember when exactly.
I think this is where I first created the royals, I don't remember all the details though.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Safura's little diamond earring is first mentioned here
Part 8 - Back to School
The characters Juan and Nina were created while planning this part.
Nina's rivalry with Nero was planned here as well.
The character Ming Dai was created here, before that I didn't plan for Swen to have a son.
It was always the plan that Naruto would record the highest potential ever measured, but I can't remember how it was going to happen before I switched to the academy plan.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Sora knew why Hinata (his niece) was strong
- Naruto achieving a divine oddity which included the detonation of cores
- Nina's rivalry with Nero
- Ming Dai's rivalry with Swen
- Enri being feared as a possible protector of the academy
Part 9 - Boruto's Masters
The majority of this part was unplanned and was a response to feedback. The majority wanted Boruto and Hashirama to help Naruto.
Tsunade being controlled by the Hive Mind was always the plan.
Boruto meeting Sasuke and changing sides was always the plan, though this part brought it forward.
Since the creation of the Hannah character I always intended for her to outwit Shikamaru and kill him, I also intended for her to kill Lara.
Part 10 - Decleration of War
I planned to do a part like this as soon as I created the Homeworld idea, although I hadn't planned out the War Council yet.
I always planned for whatever group Naruto did speak to having the horn of Endou Akashi.
The plan was for Hinata to be revealed as the empress since long before her first power outburst in part 5, Mana and Michel were first created here.
The Zahra character was first created for this part.
It was always the plan for Naruto to understand Detonation Martial Arts and use that to defeat Hannah.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- The attack on the foundry and the difficulties it would cause
- Multiple minds helping Naruto to use Detonation Martial Arts
- Fauna Blight is first hinted at here
- Sacred Sword being important in the final battle
- Ming Dai used 'lightning', hinting at his divine ability
Part 11 - The Foundry
The details of the fight against General Yasmine were not planned, nor was the fight itself.
The characters Theresa and Philip were not planned in advance.
The Rara Prison capture was planned in advance as a means for Naruto and Hinata gaining some trust.
The prophecies the Seer Twins gave weren't planned, but were based on things that were.
This is where the existence of progenitors is first hinted at, although it wasn't planned.
All I planned for that chapter was 'dialogue between Hinata and Enri'.
It was always the plan for Sakura to die here and for the majority of Naruto's allies to leave.
This was so that he would lose confidence in himself prior to his fight with General Safura which was also planned.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Naruto's mind division being very helpful in the future
- The existence of Takada Kasumi and other progenitors
- Naruto's fusing elements in the battle against Jonas
- Mirai failed to fuse elements where Naruto and Boruto would later succeed
Something interesting:
I had an idea that I decided against. I was going to have Sasuke summon Uzumaki Mito from the future to save them. Mito would have remained for one chapter only and would have been a class 9 warrior. Mito would have revealed that she was Sasuke's student. Mito would have greeted her family members and would have hinted as Sakura's death by saying "and you must be Sakura" or something along those lines. I decided against it because it was complicated to do this without implying that Naruto was destined to defeat Furst.
Part 12 - The Generals
Although the specifics of other fights weren't planned, this part was always my intention.
It was relatively short so it was mostly according to a long-term plan.
The plan was always for Naruto to defeat Safura with mind division.
The plan was always for Naruto and Sasuke to reunite here, and for Nina to join the rebellion.
From the moment I started planning Naruto vs the generals I planned for Nero to defeat Nina, but for Nina to distract Nero when Naruto broke through.
I didn't plan for Nina to use Lightning-Gathering, this was improvised. This then inspired the way that Nina would eventaully defeat Nero (Fire-Gathering).
Part 13 - Afflictions and Royals
Although the name Fauna Blight hadn't been decided, the affliction was created along with the Emilie character, as was most of this arc.
It was in one of the previous parts that I planned for Enri, Hinata, and Himawari vs Sabine, that is why Himawari needed to find the Sacred Dagger here.
It was always the plan for Nadia to "help" the rebellion and for Swen to fight Sabine.
It was always planned that Naruto and Boruto would break through in 'fate' at the same time in this part.
Helion Ashen's return was planned in advance, I believe since the little diamond earring was first mentioned in part 7.
The character King Didier wasn't planned far in advance, although the alliance was.
The characters Duke Laurent, Mayor Lang Zhou, and Chang Wuying were not planned until just before I started writing this part.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Although Nadia intended to kill the rebels she led them to the right place to cure Fauna Blight, hinting at her sympathies to anti-imperial causes
Part 14 - Imperials
This part wasn't always planned, but was neccessary to re-establish the relationship between Naruto and Hinata.
The part that was planned was Ashen's return, defeat to Furst and subsequent loss, although at points this loss would have been to Naruto.
The Ugokanai Mada character was not planned in great detail until the start of this part.
It was not originally the plan for Ashen to be Himawari's teacher, though this was a convenient way for Himawari to have her element-based breakthroughs.
The progenitor was planned since part 11.
Noteable foreshadowing includes:
- Jonas's Homeworld-destroying weapon
- Ashen's divine ability affecting those nearby when she refused to use it in against Jonas (because Safura was nearby)
- Akashi's body being in the pocket-world and Mitsuki working out where it would be
Part 15 - The End War
A lot of this was planned in advance:
- Naruto and the others dropping from the sky to help Sarada again, planned since before the first chapter.
- Naruto and then Boruto fusing elements, planned since Mirai first used the power.
- Naruto fighting Furst and defeating him by fusing elements, planned since Mirai first used the power.
- Furst using a weapon to control all of Homeworld and testing it on Dunstone, planned from the beginning as the reason for the pocket-world invasion.
- Naruto teleporting to save the other Kage, planned for a long time but never foreshadowed.
- Hinata using the Sacred Sword to project a shield and buy time for Naruto, hinted at since the introduction of the Sacred Sword
- Ming Dai using his predeccesors elements, planned since part 10
- Hannah defeating Max, planned since the creation of the Hannah character
What wasn't planned:
- Naruto learning Micro-Control
- Specific dialogue
Conclusion
At the start of this story I planned the story by writing the dialogue. After that I did it using rough guidelines. Often the guidelines lead me to improvise dialogue that then foreshadowed yet unplanned developments. The majority of the story was planned in advance though. As you likely recall I usually take breaks before starting a new part so that I can plan it.
This story has been running for years, so there is a lot I can't remember, this is the best summary I can do for now.
This has been the longest review answer I have ever written, I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for reading.
