Aw~ I've done this a billion times in my head for Modern!Sonamy~ -daydreams with a smile on my face-
Amy is such a great motivator and support in Sonic's world. She makes the best motivational speeches that can literally change lives (Shadow, Omega, and Silver, COUGH COUGH) but that's not touched on in a lot of games lately… but she really is inspiring! (Professor Pickle heard one of her faithful speeches :) There not always long, but they are dramatic and emotional =w=)
(Seriously though, this girl can win him over with a simple believing smile~ But she's more than that too, she can charm him with her determination, will, spirit, heart, and most importantly, her amazing judgement and inspirational speeches that can just lift him from the most hopeless moment to the most faithful and daring rescues, AKA saving the world! …she's also really positive and optimistic! Such a happy cute girl~ oh yeah, she's cute too, wait, am I just listing good things about Amy? lol, sorry about that, I'll quiet down now XD )

Sonic feels his faith in saving everyone slipping as Tails agrees with Knuckles that the situation is grim.
Everyone is trying to plan out how to defeat Lyric and Eggman's combined forces, as Sonic walks away to think with himself, away from the drama and worried and scared looks from his teammates.
They had an impossible fleet. So many titans that were awakened by Lyric getting his cold oily hands on the Chaos Crystals… and now… his army was going to finally launch an all out war on nature, and all he had were five loyal friends, what could they all possibly do before the end!?
Amy saw him sulking off into the forest and looked concerned, walking off to follow him as he stopped to look over a lake, folding his arms in the moonlight.
"..You really like to do everything alone, even worry, don't'cha?" Amy smiled, tilting her head as he looked behind himself, surprised to see she followed.
He looked forward again, rolling his shoulders back to not look so down in front of her now. "Yeah, well, everyone needs a moment alone." he stated, "to just be with their thoughts.."
"..I hate being alone!" Amy chipped up, trying to get rid of the dreary atmosphere too, as it calmed Sonic as well, and made things less sad and awkward. "I can't even IMAGINE being on my own with all this… chaos going on! Can you?" she smiled his way, bouncing up to his side. "Well?"
He looked to her, not really a smile… and just shook himself in a type of shrug. "Well, I… I…" he sighed, "Yeah. It wouldn't be the same." he admitted. "But even with our numbers, we can't possibly trump an army. I mean, we're good and all! But more of us would be nice.." he looked up, seeming a little down for her liking.
"Who says it's impossible? I mean, we got you into a decent teammate! Why can't we take this and change it into a possible feat?" she spread her arms out, getting excited.
He looked to her, amazed by her optimism. "You really think we can win?"
"Pfft! Who fought off the hords of robots coming for the village?" she rolled her eyes and then held her hand out in front of her, leaning toward him.
".. I did-? WE…did." he corrected himself.
"Em-hmm. Annnnnd who took down Eggman, Metal Sonic, and grouped in Shadow to our side?" Amy held her hands out, counting, before moving her thumb over her shoulder to gesture to Shadow who was back with the others.
"…We did." Sonic actually cracked a smile, looking down and remembering those battles. "B-b-but those weren't-" he started, as Amy stuck up her head confidently again.
"What? Challenging enough? Well, Sonic The Hedgehog, I'm sure you'll find this more to your… particular, interest then! Towering stone giants! A snake with a bad ego, an Egg-freak whose crazy for world domination, and you only have a couple of do-gooders to assist ya. Oh, and a robo-army ready to create the apocalypse of all beautiful living things." she gestured around her and then gave Sonic a sneaky eye look, as if daring him to conquer her 'impossible odds' challenge. "I was always under the impression you loved an adventure? Was all that loud mouth bragging, wrrroonnngg~?"
He looked to her with a lit fire, his smile curling into a smirk, as he looked at her in a way that made her heart race just a second after she saw it. "Amy Rose… You're awesome." he stated, in the most sincerest way he could possibly say such a line.
She beamed, blushing as Tails raced back, "I've got an idea!"
"Right on time." Sonic had renewed confidence and determination, as he looked back to Amy. "I accept you're challenge. Let's roll!" he gave her a thumbs up.
"Right!" she agreed, squeeing a little at how he was looking at her just then.
