Episode 407: The Eighth Wonder of the Sinnoh World!
After witnessing Dawn earning her Fifth and final Ribbon to enter the Sinnoh Grand Festival, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon had at last arrived in Sunyshore City.
"Sunyshore City. The home of the Sunyshore City Gym," Meowth said.
"And when you win this battle, you're going to qualify for the Sinnoh Pokémon League," Ventus said.
"You got that right, Ven," Sora said. Just then, pair of hands took Sora by the eyes.
"Guess who?" A familiar voice asked. Sora turned around and saw it was his aunt.
"Aunt Cattleya!" Sora said.
"Mom!" Ventus said. She hugged both of son and nephew.
"I missed you both very much," Cattleya said. "You gotten quite taller since the last time, Ventus." Ventus laughed. "Kairi, Terra, Aqua, I missed you too!" She gave Kairi, Terra, and Aqua a hug as well.
"It's good to see you," Kairi said.
"Who's she?" Veemon asked.
"That's Ven's mom. She's really nice," Aqua said. Cattleya noticed the Digimon with the group.
"So, are you going to introduce me to your little friends?" Cattleya asked.
"Mom, these are new friends we met in Sinnoh. They're called Digimon," Ventus said.
"So, these are the Digimon I heard so much about. I'm going to guess who you are," Cattleya said. She pointed to each one of them. "You're Agumon and you're Gabumon. And you're Tentomon, Biyomon, Palmon, Patamon, Gomamon, Gatomon, Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, and Wormmon."
"You got it right exactly," Veemon said.
"You're just so much cuter than I thought you were," Cattleya cooed.
"Is dad with you?" Ventus asked.
"No, I'm sorry, dear. Your father wanted to come, but he is terribly busy in the restaurant," Cattleya said.
"How are things at home?" Kairi asked.
"Your parents and grandmother both send their love, and they're mighty proud of you for winning all five of your Ribbons," Cattleya said. She turned to her nephew. "And I have to say, everyone at home is mighty proud of you for your battles against the Hoenn Frontier Brains. And how many Gym Badges have you won, honey?"
"Seven. I just need one more," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"The Gym Leader here goes by Volkner and he's a huge deal around here," Meowth said. Sora has shown his aunt his Gym Badges.
"My, my, what an impressive collection of Gym Badges. I am so proud of you," Cattleya said. "How about we go in the Pokémon Center and have a hearty meal. I wanna hear about your experiences."
"Okay," Sora said.
As they reached the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy approached the group.
"Excuse me, but are any of you Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town?" Nurse Joy asked.
"That's me," Sora said.
"You have a phone call from a Reggie in Veilstone City," Nurse Joy said.
"Reggie?" Sora asked.
"Who's Reggie?" Cattleya asked.
"He's a Pokémon Breeder we met in Veilstone City," Aqua could only say. Sora went to the phone and answered.
"Hello, Sora here," Sora answered. Reggie came on the screen.
"Sora, hey! I had a feeling I would catch you in Sunyshore City," Reggie greeted.
"Haven't seen you since after Snowpoint City," Sora said. "Are you calling about Paul?"
"Funny you should ask about that, because I have been wondering how he is. I mean, is he still under Myotismon's control?" Reggie asked.
"No. Myotismon's old news now. Agumon and the other Digimon took care of him for good. The same can be said for his flunkies," Sora said.
"That's good to know. And I was hoping so, because I noticed that all his Pokémon has gone back to normal, but Paul still has been acting strange. And I think maybe it might have something to do with him breaking free," Reggie said. Sora placed his hand on his chin.
"I guess I might have opened him up way more than I thought I did," Sora said.
"What do you mean?" Reggie asked.
"Well, let's just say I had a little help from someone who is quite eccentric," Sora said. "And he gave me a pretty weird and pretty helpful advice."
"I'm not sure what kind of advice it was, I'm just happy Paul is back to normal. I have you to thank for it," Reggie said. "I'm very grateful for what you did for my brother."
"You don't have to thank me," Sora said.
"I want to, Sora. Besides I owe you that," Reggie said.
"You're welcome," Sora said.
"And since you're down there, I just wanna say good luck in your Gym battle, Sora. Not that you'll need it," Reggie said.
"Thanks," Sora said. He hung up and rejoined the group.
"What did he have to say?" Kairi asked.
"Well, Reggie is happy to hear his brother Paul is back to normal," Sora said.
"Is he a friend of yours, dear?" Cattleya asked.
"No," Aqua said.
"Paul and Sora don't have a good history together," Terra said.
"What do you mean?" Cattleya asked.
"Paul isn't the nicest trainer you would meet. We say that because Paul only cares about having strong Pokémon and he abandons them if they're not up to his standards," Kairi said.
"The Monferno you saw on TV was one of his Pokémon. He was a Chimchar at the time," Ventus said.
"But what happened to Paul afterwards?" Cattleya asked.
"We don't know. We didn't see him since our fight with Team Galactic. He just took off during our last battle," Sora said. "But I can't help but wonder what's going through his head right now."
Meanwhile, Paul was sitting by a small pond, reflecting on his past.
"Sora was right. He was right about everything. I was pushing my Pokémon beyond their limit and I was impatient. Not only Sora, but Riku too. How the hell was I so stupid to let that Digimon take control over me?" Paul asked himself.
"Hm, that is a good question, don't you think?" A voice spoke. Paul saw Wisemon sitting next to him.
"Who are you?" Paul asked.
"You can call me Wisemon. Everyone does. And I can see that you feel down because you were being used, because of your hatred of Sora and Riku," Wisemon said.
"How do you know about that?" Paul asked.
"There's a lot of things I know, and how he was able to use you is one of them. For example, Myotismon used you because he saw some darkness in your heart and fed it. Anger and hate are its favorite snacks," Wisemon said. "More so than a glass of milk and a plate of cookies."
"He saw darkness me, big deal," Paul said.
"But you broke out of his hold because Sora was the only one who could. He's no ordinary human," Wisemon said.
"Myotismon got to me because he knew I was going to lose and he used my contempt for Pokémon to his advantage, so he made me turn against my own brother, and that's just as worse," Paul said.
"Would it make you feel better that Myotismon is down for the count?" Wisemon asked. Paul looked right at him.
"You're kidding!" Paul said.
"Nope, nope, nope. He was destroyed. But I don't expect you to take my word for it. See for yourself," Wisemon said, showing Paul the battle with Myotismon. Omnimon fired as MaloMyotismon screams in pain as he is blown apart. MaloMyotismon starts to dissolve into bits of data. "And that's no trick. And the war in the Digital World has ended at last."
"Since Myotismon is gone, then why do I still feel down?" Paul asked.
"Ah, you're actually feeling remorse. I don't seem to recall a single moment that you ever felt remorse for anything," Wisemon said.
"Is that it?" Paul asked.
"Why else? You started this dark path when your brother lost his battle against Brandon, but only you can write the ending to your story. You don't have a good beginning, but that doesn't make you who you are; it's what you're going to do next," Wisemon said.
"What I'm going to do next? What is that supposed to mean?" Paul asked.
"You're going have to figure that out for yourself. Just the way your brother did," Wisemon said, disappearing. Paul was wondering what he meant by that, but he knew he had to figure it out.
Back in Sunyshore City, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all sat and shared some stories as they ate.
"Sounds like you had quite an adventure," Cattleya said.
"We met some people and new Pokémon while we were here in Sinnoh," Terra said.
"We met most members if the Sinnoh Elite Four and the Sinnoh region's champion, Cynthia," Ventus said.
"Is that right?" Cattleya asked.
"That's true. I battled against her and lost," Sora said. "I even battled against Lucian and Aaron of the Elite Four and I lost against them, too," Sora said.
"Sora did his best," Tentomon said.
"He gave it everything he had," Armadillomon added.
"He always does. I remember watching a Gym Battle against Morty of the Ecruteak City Gym," Cattleya said.
"I remember," Terra said.
"So Sora, what's your plan for dealing with Volkner?" Cattleya asked.
"I got it all figured out. I plan on using my Ground Types against him," Sora said.
After lunch, Cattleya joined the group for Sora's Gym battle. Kairi was dressed in her cheerleader outfit to root for Sora. The doors open and they make their way to the battlefield with Volkner waiting for Sora.
"Good of you to come, Sora. And I can see you got some support with you," Volkner said.
"Yeah. My girlfriend, my friends, and my aunt came with me to root for me in our battle," Sora said.
"They're more than welcome to watch," Volkner said. They sat in the stands with Flint.
"Hey there, Kairi, wasn't it? I thought Volkner was joking about the cheerleader part," Flint said.
"Yeah. Anyway, these are friends. Sora's cousin Ventus, but we call him Ven. His mom and Sora's aunt, Cattleya. These are Terra and Aqua. And these are the Digimon," Kairi introduced.
"A pleasure," Flint said.
The referee steps in as soon as Sora and Volkner has taken their positions.
"The battle of the Sunyshore City Gym between the Gym Leader Volkner and the challenger Sora from Pallet Town is about to begin! In this battle, both trainers will be battling with the use of four Pokémon each! Only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokémon anytime, and the battle will be over when all four of either Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Sora, Volkner, as soon as you are ready, choose your Pokémon and begin the battle!" Volkner took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Electivire!" Volkner called out. Electivire has come out to battle. Sora has taken out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Hippowdon!" Sora called out. Hippowdon unleashes a mighty bellow upon entry.
"Hippowdon is a good choice since he's a Ground Type Pokémon," Ventus said.
"You're right, kid, but Volkner isn't going to make it easy for him," Flint said.
"Hippowdon! Use High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon stomps on the ground and charges towards Electivire.
"Dodge and use Ice Punch!" Volkner ordered. Electivire lands an Ice Punch on the mark against Hippowdon, causing heavy damage.
"Electivire just used Ice Punch. That must be how he deals with Ground Types," Terra said.
"Clever," Aqua said.
"Sand Tomb!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon releases sand out of the holes on his back and digs into the ground. Electivire became trapped in it.
"Try to get out of there, Electivire!" Volkner called out. Electivire tries to climb out of Sand Tomb. But the sand was too much for the thunderbolt Pokémon to get out.
"Use Earthquake!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon slams on the ground, making Electivire fly right out of the Sand Tomb.
"Electivire definitely felt that hit," Gabumon said.
"Use High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon ran towards Electivire with High Horsepower.
"Electivire! Ice Punch!" Volkner ordered. Electivire lands an Ice Punch onto the hippo-like Pokémon. "Ice Punch again!"
"Hippowdon! Use Crunch!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon avoids Ice Punch and lands a Crunch, biting it on the arm. "Give it a good toss!" Hippowdon tosses Electivire on the ground. Volkner was impressed by how well his Hippowdon is battling.
"I gotta hand it to you, your Hippowdon is doing better than it did in your last battle. But let's how much longer it'll last! Electivire! Fire Punch!" Electivire came at Hippowdon with Fire Punch instead of Ice Punch. Sora wasn't sure what he was up to, but he figure Volkner is trying to throw him off.
"Hippowdon! High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon rushes towards Electivire with High Horsepower. Both Pokémon landed a hit onto each other and they skid backwards.
"Both of Hippowdon and Electivire are giving it everything they have," Cattleya said.
"Just watching this is getting me pumped. It really takes me back," Flint said.
"Electivire! Ice Punch!" Volkner ordered. Electivire heads towards Hippowdon with an Ice Punch.
"Dodge and use Sand Tomb!" Sora ordered. Hippowdown avoids Ice Punch and uses Sand Tomb and it traps Electivire once again. "Now, use High Horsepower!" Hippowdon charges at Electivire and lands a heavy blow. "Now use Earthquake!" Hippowdon unleashed another Earthquake and it makes the whole Gym shake. "Now, use Crunch!" Hippowdon lands a Crunch on Electivire and gave it another throw. Electivire lands on the ground. Electivire struggles to get back up.
"Electivire! Use Ice Punch!" Volkner ordered. Electivire prepares to use Ice Punch onto Hippowdon.
"High Horsepower!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon ran towards Electivire again and lands a hit onto Electivire and has earned a heavy knockout.
"Electivire is unable to battle! Hippowdon wins!" The referee announced. Hippowdon was panting heavily. Sora knew Hippowdon was getting really tired from those moves.
"Sora has taken the lead," Wormmon said.
"And Volkner has three more Pokémon left to use," Palmon said.
"I can't help but wonder what other Pokémon does Volkner has to use," Tentomon said.
"You're going have to find out," Flint said. Volkner calls his Electivire back.
"Get some rest, Electivire. You earned it," Volkner said. He took out another Pokéball. "That was good, Sora. Most of my challengers couldn't take down my Electivire, even with a Ground Type. But let's see how you fare against this! Go! Raichu!" Volker threw it and his Raichu came on out. Sora took out Hippowdon's Pokéball and calls him back and took another one.
"Go! Gastrodon!" Sora called out. Gastrodon has entered the battlefield.
"I knew it. He had another Ground Type ready for me. But it won't be enough to take down my Raichu," Volkner said.
"Gastrodon! Use Water Pulse!" Sora ordered. Gastrodon forms a ball of water and hurls it right at Raichu.
"Dodge it, Raichu!" Volkner called out. Raichu avoids Gastrodon's Water Pulse as it makes a splash on the ground. "Now, use Surf!" Raichu creates a big wave, which it rides right on it.
"Another counter strategy against Ground Types," Terra said.
"Like I said, Volkner isn't going down that easily," Flint said.
"Gastrodon! Jump to dodge!" Sora called out. Gastrodon jumps to avoid Surf just when it was close enough. "Now, use Mud Bomb!" Gastrodon fires Mud Bomb and it struck Raichu. "Now, use Muddy Water!" Gastrodon spewed Muddy Water and it struck Raichu on the mark.
"Not too bad, Sora," Volkner said. "Raichu! Use Brick Break!" Raichu came at the eastern sea slug Pokémon with Brick Break.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Gastrodon attmepts to dodge, but Gastrodon got hit by Brick Break.
"That was great! Use Surf!" Vokner ordered. Raichu whips up another wave and rides right on it. The wave comes straight down.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. The wave came too fast for Gastrodon to dodge. "Gastrodon!"
"Use Brick Break!" Volkner ordered. Raichu came at Gastrodon and landed a hit with Brick Break. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Raichu smacked Gastrodon with Iron Tail. Sora saw Gastrdon wasn't going to last much longer out there, so he calls back Gastrodon and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up next, Garchomp!" Sora called out. Garchomp has entered the battlefield against Raichu.
"That was a close one for Gastrodon, because it didn't look like he was going to last that longer out there," Biyomon said.
"This is Garchomp's very first Gym battle," Agumon said.
"Even if Garchomp wasn't a Ground Type, Electric Type moves won't do much damage on Dragon Type Pokémon," Terra said.
"Raichu! Use Surf!" Raichu created another wave of water and started to head right towards Garchomp.
"Use Draco Meteor!" Sora ordered. Garchomp unleashed Draco Metoer and it rained down, striking the waves and Raichu starts going forward. "Now use Dragon Pulse!" Garchomp unleashed his Dragon Pulse and landed a hit onto Raichu. "Now, use Earthquake!" As soon as Raichu hits the ground, Garchomp unleashed Earthquake and the whole place starts shaking. Raichu was struck by Earthquake. "Wrap it up with Dragon Pulse!" Garchomp has unleashed Dragon Pulse and it was enough to finish off Raichu.
"Raichu is unable to battle! Garchomp wins!" The referee announced.
"Two down and two to go," Veemon said.
"An Electivire that can use Ice Punch and a Raichu that can use Surf, I wonder what else Volkner has up his sleeve," Aqua said. Volkner calls back his Raichu.
"Good job, Raichu, you earned yourself a good rest," Volkner said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Your turn, Jolteon!" He threw it and Jolteon came out to battle.
"Garchomp, you still good to go?" Sora asked. Garchomp nodded.
"Great!" Sora said.
"Jolteon! Use Iron Tail!" Volkner ordered. Jolteon starts to head towards Garchomp with Iron Tail ready to go.
"Dodge and use Dragon Pulse!" Sora ordered. Garchomp avoids Jolteon's Iron Tail and fires Dragon Pulse. Jolteon uses Iron Tail and cuts through Dragon Pulse. "No way!"
"Jolteon! Use Double Kick!" Volker ordered. Jolteon unleashed Double Kick onto Garchomp.
"Garchomp! Earthquake!" Sora ordered.
"Quick Attack!" Volkner ordered. Jolteon has bombarded Garchomp with Quick Attack, making Garchomp lose his focus on using Earthquake. "Now, use Iron Tail!" Jolteon has given Garchomp an Iron Tail right across the face, earning a knockout.
"Garchomp is unable to battle! Jolteon wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls back his Garchomp and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Back to action, Hippowdon!" Sora called out. Hippowdon came right out to battle Jolteon.
"Doesn't Hippowdon look a little flushed?" Wormmon asked.
"That battle with Electivire has tired him out," Meowth said.
"Let's hope maybe, Hippowdon will be able to hold on," Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said.
"Jolteon! Quick Attack!" Volkner ordered. Jolteon ran towards Hippowdon with Quick Attack.
"Hippowdon! Sand Tomb!" Sora ordered. Hippowdon unleashed Sand Tomb and has caught Jolteon right in it. "Now, use Earthquake!" Hippowdon has used Earthquake, making the ground shake. "Now, use High Horsepower!" Hoppowdon charges right at Jolteon and lands another hit. Jolteon has gone down for the count.
"Jolteon is unable to battle! Hippowdon wins!" The referee announced.
"Looks like Volkner's comeback has been cut short," Flint said.
"Well, he didn't have his Electric Types use any Electric moves since Ground Types are immune to them," Gatomon said.
"But that won't stop Volkner," Flint said.
"Sora will take down whatever is coming his way," Ventus said. Volkner calls back his fallen Jolteon.
"Not bad, not bad. You're even better than I remember. My last Pokémon isn't going to make it any easy for you like my other three," Volkner said. He took out his Pokéball ball and threw it. "Go! Luxray!" His Pokéball opens up and Luxray has let out a loud roar.
"His last Pokémon is a Luxray," Hawkmon said.
"That Luxray looks even stronger than Sora and Riku's put together," Terra said.
"Sora can beat it, right?" Biyomon asked.
"I remember the Pokémon Sora went up against and they were tough cookies to break. Rampardos, Roserade, Drifblim, Lucario, Floatzel, Bastiodon, and Abamasnow. Those were tough Pokémon and he beat them," Agumon said. Hippowdon was pretty exhausted from the battle with Jolteon just the same way he was tired against Electivire.
"Hippowdon, you shouldn't overdo it, so you're going have to rest up," Sora said. He took out Hippowdon's Pokéball and attempt to call Hippowdon back, but the heavyweight Pokémon refused. "You wanna keep going?" Hippowdon nodded. "Okay, if that's what you want, then use Sand Tomb!" Hippowdon unleashed Sand Tomb, but Volkner saw that coming.
"Dodge and use Ice Fang!" Volkner ordered. Luxray avoids Hippowdon's Sand Tomb and lands a chilly bite onto Hippowdon. "Now, use Fire Fang!" Luxray has unleashed a powerful Fire Fang and Hippowdon has taken bad hit and ends up being burned by the attack.
"Uh-oh, Hippowdon has been burned," Armadillomon said.
"And that's a huge problem," Agumon said.
"Luxray! Crunch!" Volkner ordered. Luxray lands a Crunch onto Hippowdon, finishing him off.
"Hippowdon is unable to battle! Luxray wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls back his Hippowdo and he took out his next Pokéball.
"Man, that Luxray is pretty tough, even with Ground Types on my side. Maybe, I can have Gastrodon come back out to use Water Pulse, and hopefully, landing a confusing blow," Sora said in his thoughts. He took out Gastrodon's Pokéball and threw it. He spoke out loud. "Gastrodon! Back to action!" Gastrodon has come back out to battle. "Gastrodon! Water Pulse!" Gastrodon fires Water Pulse right at Luxray, hoping for Sora's plan to work.
"Fire Fang!" Volkner ordered. Luxray lands a burning bite and it cuts right through Water Pusle, resulting in steam.
"It doens't look like Water Pulse is doing a thing to stop Luxray," Veemon said.
"With all that steam, Gastrodon can't tell where Luxray is moving, so Sora is at a disadvantage," Flint said. Luxray moves right through the steam. Gastrodon didn't have the ability to see through tsteam like Luxray and he was in huge trouble.
"Keep your wits up, Gastrodon. Luxray has to be moving around in the steam," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Ice Fang!" Volkner ordered. Luxray comes at Gastrodon and lands an Ice Fang onto the eastern sea slug Pokémon. Gastrogon was now frozen solid. The steam cleared up to let everyone see Gastrodon frozen.
"Gastrodon!" Sora gasped.
"Pika!" Pikachu also gasped.
"Luxray! Crunch!" Volkner ordered. Luxray lands a bite with Crunch and earned a knockout from Luxray.
"Gastrodon is unable to battle! Luxray wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls back his fallen Gastrodon and took out one more Pokéball.
"Man, I knew this wasn't going to be easy, but I'm going have to try even harder," Sora said.
"Now, both has one left to use," Cattleya said.
"Sora has to make this next one count," Meowth said. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Torterra!" Sora called out. Torterra has entered the battlefield. "Torterra, this is your first Gym battle in a while. This is squarely up to you, so give it everything you've got."
"Luxray! Ice Fang!" Volkner ordered. Luxray comes right at Torterra with Ice Fang.
"This is bad. Being a Grass Type, and a Ground Type, Torterra has a bad matchup with Ice Type moves," Aqua said.
"Torterra! Energy Ball!" Sora ordered. Torterra fires Energy Ball and it struck Luxray hard. "Now, use Leaf Storm!" Torterra unleashed Leaf Storm and struck Luxray.
"Dodge and use Fire Fang!" Volkner ordered. Luxray ran towards Torterra with its fangs emitting fire while avoiding Leaf Storm. Luxray lands a hit with Fire Fang. "Now, use Ice Fang!" Luxray lands a hit with Ice Fang.
"Torterra is taking a bad hit from that Ice Fang," Gomamon said.
"Sora will beat it," Wormmon said.
"Torterra! Use Energy Ball!" Sora ordered. Torterra forms a ball of green energy again. "Now, fire!" Torterra fires Energy Ball and lands a hit with Energy Ball. "Now use Earthquake!" Torterra slams on the ground. Luxray was struck with Earthquake. "Now use Leaf Storm!" Torterra sends out Leaf Storm and lands a hit onto Luxray. "Synthesis!" Torterra heals himself from his injuries, but not fully.
"Luxray! Crunch!" Volkner ordered. Luxray comes at Torterra with Crunch.
"Energy Ball!" Sora ordered. Torterra fires Energy Ball and misses. Luxray lands a bite onto Torterra. "Leaf Storm!" Torterra fires Leaf Storm and lands a hit on Luxray.
"Ice Fang repeatedly!" Vokner ordered. Luxray lands a series of bites onto Torteera with Ice Fang. "Now, use Fire Fang!" Luxray prepares to land a Fire Fang on Torterra.
"Leaf Storm!" Sora ordered. Torterra unleashed Leaf Storm and takes Luxray into the air. "Use Synthesis!" Torterra heals himself from injuries.
"Torterra making a comeback with that Leaf Storm," Cattleya said.
"Looks like it," Flint said.
"Use Earthquake!" Sora ordered. Torterra slams on the ground with Earthquake, making the battlefield shake. "Leaf Storm!" Torterra unleashed one more Leaf Storm and Luxray is overwhelmed by the leaves and lands on the ground. Luxray struggled to stand back up. Everyone were wondering if Luxray was going to keep going. Luxray fell right on the ground, beaten.
"Luxray is unable to battle! Torterra wins! The winner of the match is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Yes! Sora won!" Ventus said.
"I couldn't be even prouder," Cattleya said.
"I can see why Sora is a Pokémon League Champion," Flint said. "Good job." Volkner and Sora walked up to each other and gave each other a good handshake.
"That was impressive, Sora. It's been a while since I had a challenger like you. And to be honest, I wasn't even going to accept your challenge until I witnessed your battle close hand. And you can thank your girlfriend for convincing me into watching you battle. Because of that, I have enjoyed our battle. And just so the world will know you beat me, I am going to give you this. The Beacon Badge," Volkner said, presenting Sora his eighth and final Sinnoh Gym Badge. It is shaped like a lighthouse.
"Thanks, Volkner. I gotta say, it was a thrill to battle you," Sora said.
"No, Sora, thank you for this battle. And now that you have all eight Sinnoh Gym Badges, you will now be able to qualify to participate in the Sinnoh Pokémon League. Congratulations," Volkner said.
And with that done, The group has stepped out as Sora now gazes at all eight of his Gym Badges.
"Now, that I have eight, I'll be able to compete," Sora said.
"I am so happy for you, honey," Cattleya said. "Just where will the tournament be able to take place?"
"I can answer that," Flint spoke up. "The Pokémon League tournament will be taking place on Lily of the Valley Island. And it's going to officially going to take place within three months, so that gives you plenty of time to train."
"That's good to know," Sora said.
"I'm glad that I can help out. And this may interest you, Kairi, the Sinnoh Grand Festival is going to take place on Lake Valor," Flint said.
"Lake Valor?" Kairi asked.
"Hey, ain't that where the Wallace Cup was held?" Meowth asked.
"Yes. It served as the Grand Festival's grounds in Sinnoh for many years. And it may take place in one month after the Arrowroot Contest," Flint informed them.
"Lake Valor. Gotcha," Sora said. He turned to his girlfriend. "That gives you plenty of time to get ready."
"It does. And you have even more time to prepare for the Sinnoh Pokémon League," Kairi said.
"Thanks for the tip, Flint," Sora said.
"No prob. After seeing you in action, it's the least I can do," Flint said.
After coming back from the Gym and having his Ground Type Pokémon healed up, Sora has exchanged Hippowdon, Gastrodon, Garchomp, and Toxicroak for Infernape, Empoleon, Lucario, and Voltorb.
On the very next day, the group prepared for their departure.
"I'll be sure to see you in the Grand Festival," Cattleya said.
"We'll meet you there, aunt Cattleya," Sora said.
"And what about you, mom? What are you going to do?" Ventus asked.
"I'm going to check around. And one more thing. Kairi, your mother says she'll be coming down to see you in the Grand Festival just like before," Cattleya said.
"Isn't my grandma coming along?" Kairi asked.
"Sorry, but she is unable to make it, because she has been incredibly busy with her poetry club lately, but she will be able to watch you on TV. And your father wanted to come along, but he says, he will be helping around Professor Oak's lab. Your father will be watching on TV with her," Cattleya said.
"We'll be sure to meet you in Lake Valor," Aqua said.
"And you can see Riku and Naminé, there as well," Terra said.
"And you can meet the rest of the Digimon there, too," Ventus said.
"I'm already looking forward to it," Cattleya said.
WIth that said, Cattleya gave Sora, Kairi, and Ventus a loving hug. And so, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, and the Digimon all left for Lake Valor for the Sinnoh Grand Festival. Now that Sora and Kairi has all they need to compete in those tournaments, a challenge awaits for each one of them. So, let's all wish these lovebirds luck.
