Episode 410: Sinnoh Grand Festival Part 1
Several days has passed since Sora has battled Ash again. During their journey towards Lake Valor, Sora and Kairi kept on training for the upcoming tournaments. Along the way, they came across a female Coordinator whose dress is in a rainbow of being red, orange, blue, yellow, and white. She has five predominantly white Pokémon with green lower bodies. They have long white ears and long green eyelashes. Their heads are small and their eyes are half-closed with black irises and a short snout with a mouth and no visible nose. Its head has "hair" that resembles flowers and they are red, orange, yellow, blue, and white. Their chests has two black markings resembling a bow. Their arms are long with three fingers and it has a long waist with legs resembling leaves.
"And who are those Pokémon?" Sora asked, taking out his Pokédex and scanned them.
Florges, the Garden Pokémon
The evolved form of Floette
Type: Fairy
In times long past, governors of castles would invite Florges to create flower gardens to embellish the castle domains. It claims exquisite flower gardens as its territory, and it obtains power from basking in the energy emitted by flowering plants.
"They're all different colors," the first Dracomon said.
"That's because of the flowers they all chose as a Flabébé," Terra said.
"Petal Blizzard!" The Coordinator ordered. All of the Florges unleashed Petal Blizzard right into the air. "Moonblast!" The Florges formed a ball of pink energy and hurls it right up in the air. It gave an amazing explosion, captivating the small audience. She notices the group as she bowed her head. "Thank you! You've been a wonderful audience." The Coordinator kept in going as the group kept heading for Lake Valor.
A few weeks later, they were getting closer to Lake Valor as they spotted several young men and a few young women all wore outfits that resembles legendary Pokémon. One of them was dressed like Cobalion, another was dressed like Terrakion, another is dressed like Virizion, and the girl of the group was dressed like Keldeo. Three young men were dressed resembling Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landourus. Three young women wore dresses matching Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. A young woman wore a dress to match Xerneas. A young woman wore a dress to match Yveltal. Another young woman wore a dress to match Zygarde. Two young women are dressed as Meloetta in both forms. A young man is wearing a suit that resembles Volcanion, as a young woman is wearing a dress that resembles Diancie, and a young man is wearing a suit that resembles Hoopa.
"What's with them?" Ventus asked.
"They must be legendary Pokémon fanatics," a familiar voice spoke. They turned to see Raymond with his Pokémon. Frogadier had evolved into a Greninja since the last time. With him is a a very large reptilian snake-like Pokémon. It has a white neck and face with a pointy snout, with pale-green designs on the top of its head with two yellow leaf-like extensions on the back of its head. Its eyes are bright red and fierce-looking, despite its regal, stoical demeanor. It has a dark green body with a pale-green underside with two, swirly yellow designs on it. The small wing-like protrusion from its previous form is now its collar being curled and leaf-like, being green on the exterior and yellow in the interior. It has two green small, stubby hands with no fingers. It now completely lacks any legs and now must slither about due to its new, serpentine form, despite having the "tiny leaves" as arms. Its red eyes are also relatively small in comparison with Snivy's. Its long, green tail has three small green leaves sprouting from it. Another is a bipedal, mammalianPokémonwith some plantlike features. There is fluffy white fur on its belly and fringing its face like a beard. It has a small, pink nose with a three-pointed patch of brown fur extending up its short snout, and four pointed teeth. On top of its head is a plate of beige armor, similar to a helmet. It possesses a prominent domed, armor-like shell similar to that of a chestnut. The armor is beige with four large spines jutting out of the back. The armor is trimmed with red and green bands; the green is on the outermost edge. There is an additional spine protruding from the armor over each of Chesnaught's shoulders, which are connected by a green breastplate. Its body is colored similarly to the shell, and its long limbs and tail are banded with plates of armor. The top surfaces of the tail and arms are protected by green armor, and each arm has two small spines. It has three brown, clawed digits on its hands and feet. Another one is a very large bipedal boar-like Pokémon. It has orange skin seen on the chest and head and flames emanating from around its neck and a small, black spiked tail. It has golden oriental designs on its fat black torso, and thick, black thunderbolt-like eyebrows on the top of its head. It has a red, pig like nose. Two long fangs protrude out of its wide mouth. It has large bulky arms, each with a golden band near its biceps with the rest of the arm below being black, and a red band on its wrists near its hands which each have three claws. On its lower body it, its upper legs are red where a yellow band separates the rest of the leg which is black, its feet are tipped with two toe claws. Another one is a tall, bipedal foxlike Pokémon that resembles a witch or sorcerer. It has a long and pointy distinctly vulpine muzzle with a round orange nose. Its eyes are flame-orange. The fur on its chest is bright yellow, and it has a white patch on its belly. Its body is mainly covered in long, shaggy maroon fur, resembling a robe or dress, with bright orange flame-shaped patches on either side. Its long, thin arms are covered in fluffy maroon fur that appear to be the sleeves of its robe. It has large bright yellow ears with long orange fur tufts protruding from the inside. Another a quadrupedal, aquatic mammalian Pokémon that resembles a sea lion. It is different to its previous evolutions, which were bipedal. It has a pointed nose, with large pale-blue mustache/goatee-like growths protruding from it. On the back of its head, the Pokémon has a large yellow conch shell with a very long horn with two spikes on it. It has a long dark-blue body with a light blue-gray belly and four legs with yellow armor-like shells divided into threes on them, those on its front legs are in fact where its swords, known as Seamitars are stored. Its tail resembles that of a fish and is heart-like shaped with a small shell in the middle that makes it look like a deformed oval. "I've seen it a whole bunch of times."
"They're dressed like legendary Pokémon?" Ventus asked.
"In some ways they are. The idea is to look like the Tao Trio, the Swords of Justice, the Forces of Nature, the Aura Trio, Diancie, Meloetta, Volcanion, and Hoopa," Raymond said.
"The Tao Trio, as in Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, and Keldeo?" Terra asked.
"The same ones. The Forces of Nature are Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landourus. The Tao Trio are Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. The Aura Trio are of Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde," Raymond explained.
"Okay, Swords of Justice, Cobalion," Sora said, taking out his Pokédex.
Cobalion, the Iron Will Pokémon
Type: Steel/Fighting
This legendary Pokémon battled against humans to protect Pokémon. Its personality is calm and composed. It has a body and heart of steel. Its glare is sufficient to make even an unruly Pokémon obey it.
Terrakion, the Cavern Pokémon
Type: Rock/Fighting
This Pokémon came to the defense of Pokémon that had lost their homes in a war among humans. Its charge is strong enough to break through a giant castle wall in one blow. This Pokémon is spoken of in legends.
Virizion, the Grassland Pokémon
Type: Grass/Fighting
This Pokémon fought humans in order to protect its friends. Legends about it continue to be passed down. Its head sprouts horns as sharp as blades. Using whirlwind-like movements, it confounds and swiftly cuts opponents.
Keldeo, the Colt Pokémon
Type: Water/Fighting
By blasting water from its hooves, it can glide across water. It excels at using leg moves while battling. It crosses the world, running over the surfaces of oceans and rivers. It appears at scenic waterfronts.
"Okay, Forces of Nature," Sora said, looking them up. The image on his Pokédex displays each one of them in both forms.
Tornadus, the Cyclone Pokémon
Type: Flying
The lower half of its body is wrapped in a cloud of energy. It zooms through the sky at 200 mph. Tornadus expels massive energy from its tail, causing severe storms. Its power is great enough to blow houses away.
Thundurus, the Bolt Strike Pokémon
Type: Electric/Flying
As it flies around, it shoots lightning all over the place and causes forest fires. It is therefore disliked. The spikes on its tail discharge immense bolts of lightning. It flies around the Unova region firing off lightning bolts.
Landourus, the Abundance Pokémon
Type: Ground/Flying
From the forces of lightning and wind, it creates energy to give nutrients to the soil and make the land abundant. Lands visited by Landorus grant such bountiful crops that it has been hailed as "The Guardian of the Fields."
"Now, Tao Trio," Sora said.
Reshiram, the Vast White Pokémon
Type: Dragon/Fire
According to myth, if people ignore truth and let themselves become consumed by greed, Reshiram will arrive to burn their kingdoms down. Flames spew from its tail as it flies through the sky like a jet airplane. It's said that this Pokémon will scorch the world.
Zekrom, the Deep Black Pokémon
Type: Dragon/Electric
Mythology tells us that if people lose the righteousness in their hearts, their kingdoms will be razed by Zekrom's lightning. When the interior part of its tail spins like a motor, Zekrom can generate many bolts of lightning to blast its surroundings.
Kyurem, the Boundary Pokémon
Type: Dragon/Ice
It appears that this Pokémon uses its powers over ice to freeze its own body in order to stabilize its cellular structure. Dwelling within it is a power even greater than that of Reshiram or Zekrom, but the extreme cold keeps that power bound.
"Now, for the Aura Trio," Sora said.
Xerneas, the Life Pokémon
Type: Fairy
When the horns on its head shine in seven colors, it is said to be sharing everlasting life. Legends say it can share eternal life. It slept for a thousand years in the form of a tree before its revival.
Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon
Type: Dark/Flying
When this legendary Pokémon's wings and tail feathers spread wide and glow red, it absorbs the life force of living creatures. When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more.
Zygarde, the Order Pokémon
Type: Dragon/Ground
When the Kalos region's ecosystem falls into disarray, it appears and reveals its secret power. It's hypothesized that it's monitoring those who destroy the ecosystem from deep in the cave where it lives.
"Okay, now for the rest," Sora said.
Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon
Type: Normal/Psychic
Many famous songs have been inspired by the melodies that Meloetta plays. Its melodies are sung with a special vocalization method that can control the feelings of those who hear it.
Diancie, the Jewel Pokémon
Type: Rock/Fairy
It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands. A sudden transformation of Carbink, its pink, glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the whole world.
Hoopa, the Mischief Pokémon
Type: Psychic/Ghost
It gathers things it likes and passes them through its loop to teleport them to a secret place. In its true form, it possess a huge amount of power. Legends of its avarice tell how it once carried off an entire castle to gain the treasure hidden within.
Volcanion, the Steam Pokémon
Type: Fire/Water
It expels its internal steam from the arms on its back. It has enough power to blow away a mountain. It lets out billows of steam and disappears into the dense fog. It's said to live in mountains where humans do not tread.
"Who would have thought legendary Pokémon were so popular?" Vorvomon asked. Sora looked at Raymond's Pokémon.
"Looks like your Pokémon all evolved since the last time we saw each other," Sora said.
"They did. I had taken them through some rigorous training," Raymond said. Sora uses his Pokédex on each of the new Pokémon
Serperior, the Regal Pokémon
The evolved form of Servine
Type: Grass
It can stop its opponents' movements with just a glare. It takes in solar energy and boosts it internally. It only gives its all against strong opponents who are not fazed by the glare from Serperior's noble eyes.
Chesnaught, the Spiny Armor Pokémon
The evolved form of Quilladin
Type: Grass/Fighting
When it takes a defensive posture with its fists guarding its face, it could withstand a bomb blast. Its Tackle is forceful enough to flip a 50-ton tank. It shields its allies from danger with its own body.
Emboar, the Mega Fire Pig Pokémon
The evolved form of Pignite
Type: Fire/Fighting
It has mastered fast and powerful fighting moves. It grows a beard of fire. It can throw a fire punch by setting its fists on fire with its fiery chin. It cares deeply about its friends.
Delphox, the Fox Pokémon
The evolved form of Braixen
Type: Fire/Psychic
Using psychic power, it generates a fiery vortex of 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit, incinerating foes swept into this whirl of flame. It gazes into the flame at the tip of its branch to achieve a focused state, which allows it to see into the future.
Samurott, the Formidable Pokémon
The evolved form of Dewott
Type: Water
One swing of the sword incorporated in its armor can fell an opponent. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody. In the time it takes a foe to blink, it can draw and sheathe the seamitars attached to its front legs.
"You and your Pokémon definitely improved. How many Badges did you get?" Sora asked.
"I got seven. I was on my way to the Sunyshore City Gym when I spotted you and the rest," Raymond said. "Anyway, what about you? Didn't you get your eighth Gym Badge?" Sora shows him.
"Right here," Sora said.
"Sweet," Raymond said.said.
"How's Bobby doing?" Kairi asked.
"He's doing great. I just saw him just three days ago. He was asking about you, too," Raymond said.
"Tell him we said hi when you see him," Sora said.
"I will. Also, where are you heading?" Raymond asked.
"We're heading for Lake Valor," Kairi said.
"That's right, that's where the Grand Festival is being held. As soon as I get my Gym Badge, I'll meet up on Lily of the Valley Island," Raymond said.
"Okay. That's where we're heading as soon as the Grand Festival's over," Sora said.
With that said, the group has set off for the Grand Festival on Lake Valor. Days has passed as the group has finally made it to Lake Valor. They made it pretty early to the Grand Festival. Upon arriving, Tai, Kari, and their friends all had arrived to greet them.
"Ketchum, Kairi! Good of you to show up," Tai said.
"Hey Tai!" Sora greeted, high-fiving him. "Did Riku and Naminé show up yet?"
"Funny you should bring that up, Sora. They told us to look out for you," Kari said. Riku, Naminé, Eevee, Azurill, Guilmon, Terriermon, Renamon, Lopmon, Gaomon, and Lalamon all show up. "And here they all are now."
"Hey guys!" Agumon said.
"You are sights for sore eyes!" Guilmon said. He spots Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers with them. "What are they doing here?"
"They're our prisoners," Agumon said.
"And we're hoping to serve whatever sentence is appropriate for us," the Dracomon Brothers said.
"So we're not going anywhere, except to jail," Vorvomon said.
"But that'll come later," Agumon said.
Everyone were getting settled in as other Coordinators has begun gathering around for the Grand Festival. Cattleya has shown shown as promised along with Mirei. The Digimon were caught off gaurd to see the similarities between Kairi and her mother. Later, the FanBeemon were flying right in to see the Grand Festival since they heard Kairi was going to be a part of it.
As luck ould have, Lucas and Dawn has shown up alongside several other Coordinators. Lucas and Dawn had their very first date.
It was the day before the Grand Festival begun, everyone were having a Coordinator meet-and-greet. Kenny sneaked up behind Dawn and tapped her shoulder. Dawn flinched.
"Huh? Kenny?!" Dawn exclaimed.
"Hi there, Dee Dee!," Kenny greeted.
"Hey Kenny," Dawn greeted.
"Hey, what happened to the name's Dawn?" Kenny asked.
"I outgrew it. Also, I got over my fear of Plusle and Minun," Dawn said. A Plusle and a Minun jumped on Dawn's shoulders and gave her a shock, making her hair fizzle up with sparks. "That didn't phase me one bit."
"I'm surprised," Kenny said.
"But I have a feeling that I've seen these two before," Dawn said.
"They're my little darlings," Ursula said, with Plusle and Minun climbing back on her shoulders.
"You and her know each other?" Kenny asked.
"Sadly yes," Dawn groaned.
"I have come to let you know that I'll be winning the Grand Festival," Ursula said.
"As if! I'll be winning the Grand Festival!" Kenny said. "But I highly doubt you'll even last five minutes against Kairi."
"Oh, I can take her on in my sleep," Ursula said.
Over to Kairi, she has filled her plate and was about to join her boyfriend when she was greeted by Zoey.
"Kairi, hey!" Zoey greeted. Kairi turned and she smiled.
"Zoey! I thought I would see you here!" Kairi said.
"I saw that you won your Ribbons, so I figured you'd get here," Zoey said.
"I knew you'd make it too," Kairi said.
"So, how did your boyfriend do? Did he win his eighth Gym Badge yet?" Zoey asked.
"He did. That Gym Leader was pretty tough," Kairi said.
"Not surprising," Zoey said. Kairi spotted Nando playing his harp.
"Nando!" Kairi said. Nando stopped playing his harp.
"Kairi, a pleasure to see you again after so long," Nando said.
"I had a feeling you won your Contest Ribbons by now," Kairi said.
"You have assumed correctly. Is Sora here as well?" Nando asked.
"Yes. He and Lucas too," Kairi said. She led Zoey and Nando to the table where Sora, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, the Digimon, Mirei, and Cattleya were sitting at.
"Hey Kairi. Good of you to finally join us," Sora said. "Hey Zoey. And long time no see, Nando."
"I feel the same, friends," Nando said.
"Are they friends of yours?" Mirei asked.
"Yeah. Mom, this is Zoey, and Nando. Zoey is a Coordinator just the same as I am. And Nando is competing in both Contersts and Gym battles. Zoey, Nando, this is my mom, Miriei. And this is Sora's aunt and Vens mom, Cattleya," Kairi said.
"It's nice to meet you," Zoey said.
"I heard about you. I never would have thought of you doing both at once," Cattleya said.
"Speaking of Gym battles, how many Gym Badges did you win?" Sora asked.
"I have won seven," Nando said, presenting Sora his Gym Badges. "I only need one more to enter the Sinnoh Pokémon League."
"Glad to hear you're doing great. I won my Eighth Gym Badge," Sora said. "I'm looking forward in seeing you there."
"As am I. I owe it to you, Lucas, Dawn, and Kairi that I have decided my destiny. I thank you," Nando said.
"Not a problem," Sora said.
After the meet-and -greet, everyone was getting set for the first round of the Grand Festival. Kairi has exchanged Glaceon and Leafeon, for both of her Rapidash since she came up with an idea of using Fire Spin and Psybeam.
As promised, Agunimon and the other Warrior Digimon had arrived in time for the Grand Festival. Fireworks were going off as everyone were gathering around. Kairi's wore a pink and white gown, silver barrettes in her hair and pearl white earrings.She also wore her tiara as well. Dawn's Grand Festival outfit is a cream-yellow mini dress with an orange sash, long white gloves, a white petticoat, and low heel fashion pumps. She also kept a pinkish-red ribbon in her hair, along with an identical one on her chest. Zoey wore a lime green suit with a blue pendant. Kenny wore a suit similar to his usual contests performances. Aerith is attending as well. She wore a dress that is like hers, but she wore a more frilly sppearence. Yuna also wore her usual Contest outfit. Fireworks were going off as it was now time for the Grand Festival to begin. THe Fanbeemon all took a spot to watch along with Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon.
"It's here! It's finally here! It's all the best Coordinators in the Sinnoh region! The Sinnoh region's Grand Festival! One hundred eight Coordinators who have earned five Contest Ribbons will be showing off their great Pokémon right here in the ultimate venue! All of our appeals rounds will be Double Performances! Each stage will showcase each Pokémon in a variety of moves will be on display! And our lucky winner will be awarded with the rank of Top Coordinator! And now, allow me to introduce our panel of judges! Our head judge, our Contest director, Mr. Contesta!" Marian announced.
"Hello and thank you! I am truly pleased to be here on this beautiful day and magnificent event! I am filled with excitement!" Conesta said.
"And the head of our Pokémon fan club, Mr. Suziko!" Marian announced.
"The Grand Festival is remarkable!" Suziko said.
"And coming in from the Hoenn region, we are thrilled to have her joining us again since the Wallace Cup, Lisia!" Marian announced.
"I am filled with joy to be here again! Words cannot express the happiness in seeing all of your faces here!" Lisia said.
"Also joining us, is Rosa Joanna Farrel Harvey!" Marian announced.
"Hello again! I am looking forward in seeing our Coordinators displaying their wonderful performances!" Rosa said.
"Joining us again is Sarah Garnet Til Alexandros XVII!" Marian announced.
"Thank you very much, everyone!" Garnet said.
"And finally we have our special guest judge! Live and in person, the Hearthome City Gym Leader, Fantina!" Marian announced. Sora was shocked to hear Fantina was also judging the Grand Festival.
"Fantina too?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
The lights go out and the spotlights come on as Fantina comes up from the floor. She took a bow to the crowd.
"To be here is a magnifique honor! I am looking forward in seeing the beautiful, powerful, and magnifique Pokémon!" Fantina said.
"That really is Fantina," Terra said.
"Didn't you win a Gym Badge from her, Sora?" Cattleya asked her nephew.
"Yeah. Fantina has a habit of stepping out to judge at Contests. I met her when I was judging the Hearthome Contest along with her. I challanged her into a Gym battle once the Contest was over," Sora said. "But I can imagine how many trainers are ticked off for being locked out for missing their chance to challenge her." The judges are seated on three stages one being red, one being green, and one being blue. Contesta and Rosa sat in the blue stage, as Lisia and Suziko sat in the green stage, as Fantina and Garnet sat in the red stage.
"Fantina is a Top Coordinator and world famous star! We are counting on her no nonsense judging from her today! And now, without further adieu, time for the perfoemance round! We will have three stages here today! Blue, red, and green, running simultaneously! In addition, there are two judges officiating on each of the perfoamnce stage! So, which Coordinator is going to make pass to the second stage?" Marian announced.
"Kairi, that's who!" The FanBeemon all cheered.
"And now, we will begin! We have our first entrant on the blue stage, Ursula!" Marian announced as Ursula has entered the stage with two of her Pokéballs in Ball Capsules with red Music Seals.
"Eevee Twins! Let's go!" Ursula called out, letting out her two Eevee, surrounded by music notes. "Use Iron Tail!" Both of her Eevee clashed to each other with Iron Tail. "Now, Hidden Power!" Both Eevee unleashed Hidden Power around themselves. Ursula takes out a Fire Stone and a Water Stone. "Here goes! Now, evolve!" Both her Eevee grabbed a stone each. One Eevee became a Flareon and the other became a Vaporeon with Hidden Power still in play. The crowd styarts cheering.
"Right here on the Blue Stage, the fans are really enjoying this incredible performance! Both Eevee has evolved right at the same time!" Marian announced. They spreads Hidden Power all over the stage, much to everyone's enjoyment. Ursula bowed as the crowd cheers again.
"A truly unexpected achievement, that's for sure! Evolving during a performance! And without any wasted movement at all!" Contesta said.
"An amazing sight to see!" Rosa said.
"That is very impressive," Aqua said.
"Yes, but that trick can only be used once," Riku said.
"I agree. Ursula has spared no expense to get it done," Terra said.
"And now, on the green stage, we have Nando!" Marian announced. Nando has let out Altaria and Kricketot. Altaria flew around as Kricketot hovers around Altaria.
"Altaria! Sing a Perish Song! And Kricketot! You Sing as well!" Nando ordered.
Both of Altaria and Kricketot has unleashed music notes all over the stage.
"Truly wonderful," Cattleya said, mesmerized.
"Just like Nando to use Sound based moves during a performance," Sora said.
"His technique is high level," Aqua said.
"Nice," Vorvomon and the Dracomon Brothers both said.
"That music. Remarkable!" Suziko said.
"Using such wonderful moves during the Contest is wonderful," Lisia said.
"And on the red stage! Kairi is making good use of both of her Rapidash!" Marian announced. Kairi has let out both of her Rapidash from her two Pokéballs in pink Floral Seals. Both Rapidash galloped around with pink flower petals on the stage as Kairi rode on the Galarian Rapidash.
"Psybeam and Fire Spin!" Kairi ordered. Both of her Rapidash unleashed Fire Spin and Psybeam, circling around, making good use of Fire and Psychic Type moves. It was very beautiful. It was going around in the air as the psychic enrgy and fire was circling around.
"Truly magnifique! A good use of both formsof Rapidash in a Contest! Truly wonderful!" Fantiana said.
"I agree! The use of Fire Spin and Psybeam is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!" Garnet said.
Other performances has raged on, showing off some performing display. Aerith has done a performance with her Meganium and her Sunflora, sprinkling flower petals. Yuna has also gave a performance with a Sylveon and a female Unfezant. On the blue stage, Zoey is up next.
"On the blue stage, it'll be a water performance! And it's done by Zoey from Snowpoint City!" Marian announced.
"Lumineon! Aqua Ring!" Zoey ordered. Lumineon came out and unleashed Aqua Ring all around. Gastrodon! Come on out!" A West Sea Gastrodon emerged from the water. "Use Water Pulse!" Gastrodon unleashed Water Pulse on the rings of water. Lumineon jumps right throught he rings of water as did Gastrodon. Water swirls upwards as Zoey jumps on one with her Gastrodon and Lumineon on the other two.

"And now, appearing on the red stage is Kenny from Twinleaf Town!" Marian announced.
"Floatzel! Aqua Jet! Empoleon!Hydro Cannon!" Kenny ordered. Floatzel went right up with Aqua Jet as Empoleon fires Hydro Cannon. "Floatzel! Use Razor Wind!" Floatzel unleashed Razor Wind in the water, creating water discs.
"Razor Wind fused with water! And it's spreading all over the stage!" Marian announced.
"Empoleon! Use Metal Claw!" Kenny ordered. Empoleon slashes at the water discs, making them sparkle. "Now, for our big move. Floatzel! Whirlpool! Empoleon! Flash Cannon! Let's go!" Floatzel forms a whirlpool as Empoleon prepares Flash Cannon. "Hold on to the whirlpool!" Empoleon fires Flash Cannon right into the whirlpool. "Now, let's see if all of this works." Empoleon kept firing into the whirlpool, but Floatzel goes flying when it backfires.
"Ooh, Kenny has put a lot of power in that one," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"And next on the green stage, it's Dawn from Twinleaf Town!" Marian announced. Dawn came in with two Pokéballs in Ball Capsules with blue Line Seals.
"Cyndaquil! Buneary! Spotlight!" Dawn called out. Buneary and Cyndaquil has both emerged with lines from the Pokéballs forming a Contest Ribbon.
"Buneary makes a huge leap!" Marian announced.
"Buneary! Use Ice Beam!" Dawn ordered. Buneary fires Ice Beam, making a rollercoaster made entirely out of ice.
"A beautiful sight! It's a frozen rollercoaster!" Marian announced.
"Cyndaquil! use Flame Wheel!" Dawn ordered. Cyndaquil uses Flame Wheel on the frozen rollercoaster. Buneary slides right on it.
"Cyndaquil and Buneary are having a ton of fun, bring the fans right along to have fun with them!" Marian announced.
"Use Ice Beam one time!" Dawn ordered. Buneary prepares to fire Ice Beam. "Cyndaquil! Smokescreen!" Cyndaquil has unleashed Smokescreen to cover themselves up.
Backstage.
"Oh dear. She's all covered up. That's gotta look bad for the judges," Ursula said.Zoey clearly didn't like her attiitude.
"Okay now, Cyndaquil!" Dawn said. Cyndaquil has blown the smoke away with its flames, making them look like wings. Buneary has encased herself in a Pokéball made entirely out of ice. THe crowd starts cheering.
"Wow, remarkable!" Suziko said.
"A frozen Pokéball. And it's so enchanting! A work of art made of fire and ice," Lisia said.
"Awesome, Buneary and Cyndaquil," Dawn said.
"Wow, she's amazing," Mirei said.
Back stage.
"Well, well, Smokexsreen works," Ursula said.
"Dawn would never waste the experience she's gained. Her Double Perforamce was great!" Zoey said. Ursula scoffed.
"Whatever. I'll make sure that you and Dawn never meet in the final round," Ursula said.
"We'll see about that," Zoey said.
"Now, ladies and gentlemen! All three stages are completed, and all Coordinators have finished their first round performances! Please be patient when we caculated and announce the first round results, and see who moves on in the second round!" Marian announced.
"You think she made it to the second round?" The second FanBeemon asked.
"After what we saw, there's no way she won't make it," the third FanBeemon said.
"I'm with him. She's the bell of the ball! And she's very pretty in that dress!" The first FanBeemon said.
"She certainly is," the other two FanBeemon agreed.
"Your daughter was wonderful, Mirei. She was just as wonderful in the Hoenn Grand Festival," Cattleya said.
"She certainly was. I can imagine Yuta getting all excited watching on tv," Mirei said.
"Alright! And here are the results of the first round!" Marian announced. Everyone were anxious to see who would move on. "After a careful evaluation from the judges, the 32 hard-working talented contestants will be moving on in the exciting second round Contest Battles!" The computer displays the 32 contestsants. Kairi, Aerith, Yuna, Dawn, Nando, Zoey, and Ursula all made it in, but Kenny was cut from the second round, much to his disappointment. "These 32 contestsants will be moving on in the second round double battles, tomorrow!" Kenny stands up and he walks up to Dawn.
"Congratulations, Dawn. I think it's great that you made it in," Kenny said.
"Thank you, Kenny," Dawn said.
Once the first round has concluded, Kenny was taking off.
"So, you're really leaving, Kenny?" Ventus asked.
"Yeah, Ven. But I won't get discouraged. I just have to get ready for the next Grand Festival. Nothing is going to stop me," Kenny said.
"That's the spirit, Kenny," Lucas said.
"Dawn feels the same way," Aqua said.
"I'll see you guys after the Grand Festival," Kenny said.
"You too, Kenny," Sora said.
"Kairi, Dawn, good luck. And don't either one of you lose to that girl with the Plusle and Minun," Kenny said.
"We won't," Kairi said.
"We'll make it on through," Dawn said. "No need to worry."
"I'll be rooting for the both of you," Kenny said. "Good luck! And I'll root for you in the Sinnoh Pokémon League, Sora and Lucas."
"Thanks," Sora said.
"See you soon," Lucas said.
Whenever there are winners, there has to be losers as well. Kairi and Dawn has passed in the first round of the Sinnoh Grand Festival, so it's only a matter of who will be winning the Sinnoh Grand Festival. Let's all look forward to an exciting second round.
