Episode 418: Setting Off For Unova
Several days have passed since returning home from the Sinnoh region, so Sora's latest trophy was placed with the trophies he won in the Indigo Plateau, the Johto, and Hoenn Pokémon Leagues. All of his Sinnoh Gym Badges were placed with his other Gym Badges. Sora has intorduced the Digimon to his mother and to Professor Oak. Professor Oak was bale to open a DIgital Gate to the Digital World, so the couple and their Pokémon got to see the Digital World.
"Man, the DIgital World is ven more peaceful with Myotismon and AxeKnightmon gone," Sora said.
"It sure is," Kairi agreed.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"With Myotismon gone, a new generation of Digimon will now finally know an era of peace," Agumon said.
"And many who have lost thier loves will now be reborn," Biyomon said. Sora and Kairi looked at them.
"What do you mean by that?" Sora asked.
"That's right, we didn't tell you. When a DIgimon dies, their data gets reconfigured and then they're reborn into Digi-Eggs. Myotismon and AxeKnightmon won't be reborn, so some of the DIgimon we destroyed are going to reborn, and have a new view on life," Agumon said.
"That's good to know," Sora said. Sora looked around and saw many of the Pokémon were hitting it off well with the Digimon. "So now that peace has been restored in the DIgital World, what will you do now?"
"Now, we will have to make sure peace stays in our world. There could be Digimon out there who might do anything to disturb the peace," Gatomon said.
"Digimon like Devimon, Duskmon, or Lucemon might return, but we will put a stop to them," Patamon said.
"So, everything will be alright here," Gomamon said.
"Besides, you still have your world," Gabumon said.
"And we have the memories of being with you during our travels," Hawkmon said.
"From when we took on that Hunter J right up to the ride home," Veemon said.
"Watching Kairi in those Contests," Palmon said.
"Watching Sora in those Gym battles," Wormmon said.
"You're the best friends we have ever had," Biyomon said.
"We appreciate it," Kairi said.
"So, before we go back, how about we go and have some fun while we're here?" Sora suggested.
"I like the sound of that," Kairi siad.
With that said, the couple had a romantic time in the Digital World. The couple had themselves dinner for two and enjoyed a play performed by Digimon. Sora had to sign some autographs for the Digimon since he became such a celebrity. He should have guessed his fame would have make it anywhere. As the coupe were with their Digimon friends, they were given gifts for everything they gotten.
"We cannot thank you enough, Sora and Kairi. The same to you, Pikachu and Angel. And to Ventus, Aqua, Terra, Meowth, and to all those who aided us in our need," Leomon said.
"We were happy to help out," Kairi said.
"Now, that everything is as it should be, we will now live our lives in peace," Leomon said. "And we owe it all to you."
"We're happy for you. We do hope that peace does last in your world," Kairi said.
"We do too," Tentomon said.
"We hope the peace lasts for a long time," Armadillomon said.
"And if you wanna visit, you're more than welcome to," Sora said. The Digimon all sighed sadly. Jijimon came walking in.
"Actually, it may not be so simple. With the war over, the gates between our two worlds will be sealed for quite some time. The reason for this is because we fear that other evil Digimon might finish what Myotismon has started, and we cannot risk it," Jijimon said. Sora and Kairi knew it meant they might be able to see the Digimon for a long time.
"Does that mean, the gateway will be locked forever?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"It doesn't have to be forever since we might open it again someday, hoping nothing happens in the meantime," Jijimon said.
"But will we ever see you again?" Kairi asked.
"It is not for me to say, but if fate will allow us to meet again, then we will," Jijimon said.
"You never told us that!" Agumon said.
"I am sorry," Jijimon apologized.
"Don't be sorry, Jijimon. And I think it's for the best, because there could be bad guys on our side who might do the same thing to you guys, so we won't worry about human beings doing the same thing to your home," Sora said.
"Especially after you worked so hard to make it peaceful before Myotismon and AxeKnightmon started the whole thing," Kairi said.
"That's true," Tentomon said.
"I do hope we do see each other again," Gabumon said.
"Promise us that you won't forget about us," Agumon said with tears streaming down his eyes.
"We promise," Sora and Kairi both said. They hugged their Digimon friends goodbye.
"So, it realy is goodbye," Patamon said, cyring.
"It's not goodbye. Like Jijimon said, we will meet again," Sora said, remebering the Fairy Tail farewell. "Just live your lives to the fullest!"
"We will!" The Digimon all said as the couple and their Pokémon waved goodbye. Porygon-Z took really hard since he had to leave the world it always knew, but those memories will live on forever. But Sora and Kairi took a picture with the twelve Digimon and their Pokémon before they took off on their date.
Statues of Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Eevee, and Azurill were built in their honor.
Meanwhile in Nuvema Town, a tall, thin boy wakes up. He has medium length, messy mud brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a black T-shirt underneath a sky blue jacket that has a sea blue neck and cuffs and a white zip with gray, slightly baggy pants tightened by a black belt with a silver metal buckle. He also wore a scarlet red cap that has a black Pokéball logo, a scarlet red pair of shoes with black panels and white soles, and on his left wrist he wore a blue device. He carries a black and blue messenger bag with a large white Pokéball in the center.
"Yes! Today's the day I pick up my very first Pokémon!" The boy said. The boy took out a flyer with a Snivy, a Tepig, and an Oshawott. "I'm going to choose my first Pokémon and become the greatest Pokémon trainer in the world, and take on Sora Ketchum."
Elsewhere, there is a tall, slender young man with very pale skin, black eyes, and jet-black hair with a small tuft that sticks up from the top of his head. He wore a blue coat and a white shirt with an orange Y-shaped pattern, a black belt with a silver clasp, black dress pants, and blue shoes. He sports spectacles with orange rims. He took out the same flyer. He adjusted his glasses.
"I have been looking forward to this," the young man said.
Elsewhere, walking down the street is a young lady with short blonde hair, fair skin, and bright green eyes. She is also medium height and is slim, though she has very wide and well-defined hips. Her outfit consists of a white shirt under an orange tank top, a tight fitting shin-length white skirt which gives her bottom half a wider shape, and a green beret with a white stripe running along the rim. To complete her outfit, she wears a white bracelet on her left arm, along with orange tights and yellow pumps with white bows. She also carries around a green fringed shoulder bag for storage, which she wears on her right hip and slings over her left shoulder.
"Yes! I'm going to have my Pokémon! I have been looking forward to this in forever!" The young lady said.
A little further out of Nuvema Town, climbing through the trees a young, thin dark-skinned girl with ruby eyes and long deep purple hair, tied back with yellow bangles in thick ponytails that resemble the petals of an iris blossom. She wore a cream-colored top with a pink collar and cuffs, a pink puffy miniskirt with a slit on the left side and a big ribbon over it. She also has white leggings with yellow colored ends at the legs, and pink and white yellow-strapped shoes with no socks. An Axew climbs out of her hair.
"Ah, I always liked it out here in nature," the girl said.
"Axew!" The Axew chirped.
Walking along is a tall, very thin, young man. He has pale skin, very long, messy dark spiky brown hair, and brown eyes. He wore a scarlet red tennis visor with a black and white logo instead of a hat unlike Brendan, Ethan, and Lucas. The visor keeps his hair out of his face, making it fluff out of the top. His outfit consists of a cobalt blue short-sleeved jacket with beige knee length shorts, and underneath that, a shiny black wetsuit with teal accenting, that has elbow-length sleeves and nearly full-length legs, but falls short enough to show that he isn't wearing socks. He wore red and black sneakers with white laces, and carries a large white messenger bag with a blue stripe.
With him is a tall and slim young girl. She has very long dark brown hair tied in two large sock buns above her ears, with two long locks hanging loose to her waist, and shorter locks on either side of her face, pale peach skin and dark blue eyes. She wears a pink and white visor on her head, as well as a salmon pink tank top tied with a bow around her neck like a bikini top under a white quarter length slim fit top with ice blue sleeves and a fully salmon pink semi-Pokéball printed on the chest area. On her bottom half, she wore frilly flared mustard yellow shorts over black lycra leggings with salmon pink socks. Her hi-top shoes are ice blue and white with mustard yellow laces. She carries a large salmon pink and white handbag with a black strap over her shoulder.
"Today's the day, Nate," the girl said.
"It sure is, Rosa. We've been waiting for this for a long time," Nate said.
"You think we could be on top along with Sora Ketchum?" Rosa asked. Nate looked right at Rosa, blushing.
"Yeah," Nate said. He couldn't help but blush.
Back in Nuvema Town, walking down the street is a tall, slender girl with long dark brown hair and blue eyes. Her hat is white and pink with a picture of a pink Pokéball on it. She wore a white tank shirt that reaches her waist underneath a black waistcoat and a pair of denim shorts with white tear details on them. She wore black wristbands with a small pink stripe on both of them and matching black ankle boots with pink laces and soles, and a pair of black socks underneath. She also carries a pink messenger bag around.
"Today's the day," the girl said.
Meanwhile, a boy looked up to the sky. He has indigo hair that's spiked vertically. He wore a red training suit with a white collar and a single stripe running down each arm paired with dark blue riding pants that match his hair. His accessories include black finger-less gloves, red shoes with black stripes, and a white fanny pack with a red half-circle. He bears a deviceon his left wrist.
"Team Plasma. You're going to pay for what you done. I will have my revenge on you and then I will destroy you," the boy said in his thoughts.
Back in Pallet Town, a few days has passed. Sora wore a new outfit that is red and blue and he wore the same shoes. Kairi's new outift consisted of a pink shirt showing her midriff and a dark pink skirt. The couple were still sad that they had to say goodbye to their Digimon friends, but they knew the gate of the Digital World won't stay closed forever. Ventus, Aqua, and Terra were staying along with them as well. Professor Oak has appraoched the couple.
"Sora, Kairi, thank goodness I caught you!" Professor Oak said.
"What's so important that you had to catch us now?" Sora asked.
"I just got off the phone with Professor Juniper! She's a Pokémon researcher who lives in the Unova region! She wanted me to come on down to compare her research, but I figured you two would like to come along as my guests!" Professor Oak said.
"Sure why not. I have been wondering what the Unova region is like," Sora said.
"Me too," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Wonderful! I also invited Ventus, Terra, and Aqua to tag along as well! We'll depart to the airport first thing tomorrow!" Professor Oak said.
On the very next morning, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth were with Professor Oak, Delia, Kairi's parents, and Kairi's grandmother to reach Unova.
"This is exciting! I never been to the Unova region before," Ventus said.
"Isn't Unova full of Pokémon like Stunfisk, Darumaka, and Yamask?" Sora asked.
"Indeed. In fact, most of your Pokémon are not indigenous in the Unova region; including to Pikachu and you Meowth," Professor Oak said.
"I feel like I could stick right out like a sore thumb," Meowth said.
"It has been many years since I have been to the Unova region," Professor Oak said.
The plane makes a landing as a woman was waiting for them. She has fair skin, green eyes, and poofy honey-colored hair. She wears a pale greenish-blue lab coat and a white blouse, along with a short green skirt and athletic white shoes with red stripes. She also has red rectangular earrings in both of her ears.
"Professor Oak, how good of you to come," the woman greeted.
"Professor Juniper. A pleasure," Proefessor Oak said.
"So, who are all these?" Professor Juniper asked.
"Allow me to introduce you to them all. Meet Delia, along with her son Sora. Meet Yuta, his wife Mirei, and her mother. And this is their daughter Kairi. Delia's nephew Ventus, along with Terra and Aqua. Everyone, allow me to introduce you to Professor Juniper," Professor Oak introduced.
"It's very nice to meet you," Professor Juniper said. She remebered the mention of Sora. "Wait, Sora? The same Sora who made a startling discovery in Johto of a new kind of Pokémon?"
"If you're referring to Meltan, then you'd be right," Sora said.
"I have been looking forward in meeting you for a long time, Sora. And you must be Kairi. I have heard so much about you," Professor Juniper said.
"We heard about you a few times, Professor Juniper," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Ah a Pikachu. Such a rare find here in Unova. But we should talk in my lab. We have some business to talk about," Professor Juniper said.
WIth that said, Professor Juniper has drove them down to her lab. Along the way, they spotted some wild Deerling as well as wild Patrat and Rattata. Sora and Kairi knew Professor Oak wasn't kidding about seeing Pokémon they didn't expect to see in Unova. The group has finally arrived to the lab, and the three Pokémon there, being an Snivy, a Tepig, and an Oshawott. The group entered the lab with the lab's staff waiting for her.
"Professor Juniper, welcome back," one of the staff members said.
"How are things here? Are the newest Pokémon ready to meet their new trainer?" Juniper asked.
"Yes, ma'am. They have been fed like you instructed," the staff member said.
"Excellent," Professor Juniper said. She turned to the guests. "You are welcome to have a look around on the lab's grounds."
"Thank you, professor," Sora said. Oshawott looked right up to Sora and he found him to be interesting. Oshawott went up to Sora and he chuckled. "Hey there, Oshawott. It's nice to meet you."
"Oshawott," Oshawott said. He pets the sea otter Pokémon's head. Just then, a boy came walking in the lab. He has neck-length dirty blonde hair and icy blue eyes. He wore a violet undershirt, an orange jacket over a dark-gray hooded sweater, a black waist-belt, white pants with black and white trainers. He took out a camera and snapped some pictures. He spotted the couple with them and he spotted three Pokémon he has not expected to see.
"A Pikachu, an Eevee, and a Meowth? Great. Boonies," the boy huffed. Sora turned to see the boy.
"You here to see Professor Juniper?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, is she here?" The boy asked.
"You must be Trip. The Professor has informed me that she is busy with some research for the moment, and I will ask you to wait a few minutes," the staff member said.
"Fine," Trip said. He looked right at Sora.
"So, you came from Kanto, right?" Trip asked.
"Yeah. Pallet Town," Sora replied. Trip just chuckled mockingly. "And what's so funny?"
"I thought you would come from the boonies," Trip said.
"Boonies? Really? That is literally the worst insult I have ever heard," Sora said.
"I think of it as a compliement," Trip said.
"That's not even close to a compliment," Sora said.
"Okay, Kanto boy, tell me this, do you know that there's a Pokémon League right here in Unova, I bet not," Trip said.
"Actually, I did know about it. Did YOU know that it's not nice to make fun of people no matter where they're from? I bet not," Sora said.
"That's putting him in his place, Sora," Ventus said. Before Trip could run his mouth, Professor Juniper came in.
"Trip, good of you to come. I was told you were coming today. I have the three Pokémon waiting for you. You have one of three choices. It's either Snivy, a Grass Type. Tepig, a Fire Type, or Oshawott, a Water Type," Professor Juniper said. Trip looked at the three of them as Oshawott was hoping to be chosen.
"I'm going to go with Snivy," Trip said. Oshawott fell on his back as Snivy was chosen over the sea otter Pokémon.
"Excellent choice. Here is your Pokédex and five additional Pokéballs. I wish you luck along your journey," Professor Juniper said.
"I won't need it," Trip said. He looked at Sora. "How about I test my Snivy on your Pikachu?"
"What? You seriously want to battle me?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. I wanna go and defeat you in battle," Trip said.
"Not a good idea on your part, Trip," Sora said.
"Afraid you'll lose?" Trip asked.
"No. I'm just saying that it's going to be extremely unfair for you since you're just starting out," Sora said. "Besides, I'm more experinced than you are."
"Yeah, you don't stand a chance against Sora since he's a Pokémon League Champion! He won the Sinnoh Pokémon League just recently!" Ventus said. Trip wasn't impressed.
"Is that supposed to mean something?" Trip asked, not caring.
"It means you'll lose on your first try," Sora said.
"I don't think so. You and me. Outside," Trip challenged. Sora knew nothing he said would make him change his mind, so he had to oblige him. Both of Sora and Trip got ready with Pikachu and Snivy ready to go. "Okay, Snivy! Use Tackle!" Snivy came running towards Pikachu.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt and it shocks Snivy greatly, resulting in a one-hit-knockout. Trip was dismayed.
"What?! My Snivy defeated by some Kanto Pokémon?! What's the deal with that?!" Trip exclaimed.
"The deal is, he is more experienced than you are," the boy with the glasses said. "You always did lack judgement, Trip."
"Don't talk down to me, Cheren!" Trip snapped at him. Cheren looked right at Sora.
"You must be Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion. I have been waiting to make your acquaintance for a while now," Cheren said.
"Nice to meet you. And you are?' Sora sked.
"Forgive the delayed introduction. I am Cheren, a beginning Pokémon trainer like Trip. Apparently, Trip has miscaculated his chance of winning," Cheren stated. He looked right at Pikachu. "Your Pikachu is quite impressive. Obviously more expereinced in battle, not to mention, well-taken care of." He looked right at Kairi. "And you must be Kairi, a Pokémon Coordinator. I watched you in the Sinnoh Grand Festival. You have done well to make it to the final round."
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"I trust you plan to enter the Unova Pokémon League, Sora?" Cheren asked.
"I'm actually here as a guest of Professor Oak, but I am considering it," Sora said.
"Also, Kairi, I thought it might interest you to know that the Unova region has recently established Pokémon Contests here in Unova," Cheren said.
"They have? I had no idea," Kairi said.
"It's true. The Unova region is going to have it's very first Grand Festival," Cheren said.
"I'm out of here," Trip said, walking off.
"What's his deal?" Sora sked.
"Trip looks down on trainers from the Kanto region. He believes that they should just stay there and return to the basics of Pokémon. And that has earned him a spot to be least popular in school since Trip is a xenophobic. He is very close-minded. Unlike me, I respect Kanto trainers. You of all I admire apart from thr Kanto Gym Leaders, and the Kanto Eleite Four," Cheren said.
"That explains the not-so-warm welcome I got. Anyway which one did you choose?" Sora asked.
"I have chosen a Snivy same as Trip. I would like to battle you, but I am not foolish enough to go up against a trainer like you, especially after winning four Pokémon Leagues in a row. And if you do decide to partkae of the Unova Pokémon League, just know I am looking forward in seeing you again," Cheren said. "Until we meet again." He took his leave. Sora and Kairi defiently liked Cheren right off the bat since Trip.
A little while later, Sora and Kairi decided to speak with Professor Oak about the Unova region. he chuckled.
"I had a feeling that you would have your hands in it. That is precisely why I invited you both here with me," Professor Oak said.
"The Unova region will be quite an experience," Yuta said.
"Go and catch yourselves some cute Pokémon," Mirei said.
"And take care of each other," Kairi's grandmother said.
"We will," Sora said.
"I'll tag along as usual," Meowth said.
"And so will the three of us. We spoke with our parents, so they said it's okay," Terra said.
"Great, the more the merrier," Sora said.
"Before you two go, I have something for the both of you," Professor Juniper said, taking out a case. "Take this Badge Case, Sora. You will need it to hold your Badges. Also, you two would be needing these." Professor Juniper held out two of devices from before; one is blue, one is pink. "What the each of you are retrieving is known as a Xtransceiver. It works the same way as a phone, so we will be making contact to one another when we need to talk." She teaches the couple how the Transceiver works. "And that's all for now."
"Thank you, Professor Juniper," Kairi said.
"We'll keep in touch with you as much as possible," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth has started their journey in the Unova region. In this stange new land, they are bund to come across wild Pokémon they could not find in the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, nor Sinnoh regions. And with news of a Grand Festival being held in Unova, Kairi is willing to show off her talent to the people of Unova. Not only that, but Sora will be meeting the local Gym Leaders, challenging them and earn the Gym Badges from there, so who knows what new adventures awaits them along the way?
And the journey in Unova has officially begun! I figured I would add Pokémon Contests since Kairi would have something to do. Also, I felt that Trip should have lost in the first battle since he was inexperienced, I mean come on! Anyway, in the next chapter, they will meet Iris and Axew, so stay tuned!
