Episode 433: The Virbank City Pokémon Contest!
On the very next morning after meeting the C class Pokémon Connaisseuse, Burgundy, Sora, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Cilan, Iris, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth were heading towards Virbank City. Sora has exchanged Swadloon for Tepig. The group made a stop as Sora has decided to do some training with his new Cubchoo, while Kairi worked with Munna.
"Powder Snow!" Sora ordered. Cubchoo unleashed Powder Snow and it freezes the leaves on a nearby tree.
"Munna! Use Psywave!" Kairi ordered. Munna unleashed Psywave straight into the air.
"That was great, Kairi. You're going to do great in the Contest," Sora said. Kairi smiled affectionately.
"Thank you, Sora. That means a lot," Kairi said.
"Have you decided on which ones you're going to use?" Sora asked.
"Well, I thought of using Purrloin since her claws can come in handy. And I was thinking of using Woobat in the second round since she has some battling experience under her belt," Kairi said. "How about you, Sora? Since you'll be battling Roxie, which ones will you be using?" Kairi asked.
"Well, since Roxie is using Poison Types, I figured I would use Golett and Yamask. Poison Type moves does little damage to Ghost Types. Also, Golett is a Ground Type, so it's a good matchup. Also, Yamask can use Psychic, so it works out for us all," Sora said.
"Cilan would say that Yamask using Psychic will give your plan a hint of flavor. I would agree with him," Kairi said. Sora chuckled.
"He would say the same thing when he sees you performing out there," Sora said. Kairi smiled. Just then, a Deino came out to attack. This Deino is green, and it has purple marks around the collar. "A Deino?"
"He's a Shiny Pokémon!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said. Cubchoo stepped up.
"Huh? Cubchoo? You wanna go?" Sora asked. Cubchoo nodded. "Well, you are the only one here who has an advantge over a Dragon Type, so why not? Powder Snow!" Cubchoo unleashed Powder Snow right at Deino. Deino took a bad hit, but he fought back by using Dragon Rage. Cubchoo was struck hard. Deino the unleashed Dragon Breath right at Cubchoo. "Dodge and use Night Slash!" Cubchoo avoids Deino's Dragon Breath and swipes his claw a Deino, giving off a dark aura. "Now, use Powder Snow again!" Cubchoo unleashed Powder Snow and freezes the dark dragon Pokémon solid. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it. Deino flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Deino with him. He chose to send Deino over to Professor Oak's lab. Sora smiled as he bent down. "Looks like all that training has paid off. Good work on your first battle, Cubchoo." The small polar bear-like Pokémon beamed as Sora patted his head.
"That was a good catch, Sora," Kairi said. She gave her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. Munna beamed as she sees the kiss. The couple rejoins the rest of the group since it was time for their lunch. Cilan has prepared cream of mushroom soup, with some soft rolls.
"This is great, Cilan," Aqua said.
"There's plenty more where that came from," Cilan said. The group enjoyed the meal to their hearts content. Once the meal has been concluded, they all arrived in Virbank City at last.
"Here we are; Virbank City," Sora said.
"Now, all that's left to do is to register to for the Contest," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
The group all headed down to register to the Virbank Contest. Kairi was patiently waiting her turn to register. It was now her turn.
"Welcome, dear. Have you come to participate in the Virbank City Pokémon Contest?" The clerk asked.
"Yes I have," Kairi replied.
"And how many Contest Ribbons have you won?" The clerk asked.
"I won one," Kairi siad.
"I assume that this will be your second Unova Contest, then?" The clerk asked.
"Yes," Kairi said.
"May I have your name, and hometown?" The clerk asked.
"I'm Kairi and I came from Pallet Town," Kairi said. The clerk typed the information down in her computer.
"Ah, yes, Kairi. Says here that you have come out on top in the Hoenn and Sinnoh Grand Festivals. That's mighty impressive. The Contest will be taking place within three days, so you have plenty of time to prepare your moves," the clerk said.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"You are entirely welcome. Good luck in your Contest, Kairi," the clerk said.
With that done, Kairi was now registered to the Contest. She met up with her boyfriend and her other friends.
"How did it go?" Ventus asked.
"Smoothly. The Contest is just three days away, and that gives me time to get ready," Kairi said.
"I am looking forward in seeing your performance with my own eyes," Cilan said.
"After seeing you in the Striaton City Contest, I'm getting stoked in seeing you win your second Ribbon," Iris said.
"Axew!" Axew added.
"Thank you. I'm happy to have your support," Kairi said. She turned to her boyfriend. "Especially you, Sora." Sora blushed as he places his arm around her shoulder.
"Aw, Kairi," Sora blushed. Iris was gushing at the lovely scene.
"This is so sweet," Iris cooed.
"Say, how about we head for the Battle Club to practice," Sora suggested.
"A fine idea. It might help improve on your skills," Cilan said.
WIth that said, the group al headed down to the Pokémon Center to prepare for the Contest and Gym battle. Upon arriving Sora then meets Don George.
"Sora, I presume?" Don George asked.
"Um, yeah," Sora replied.
"Your challenger is waiting for you," Don George said. Don George led the group to the battlefield with a boy with blonde hair waiting for him.
"Sora Ketchum, right?" The boy asked.
"That's me," Sora said.
"Great! My name is Hyouske, and I want to have a battle with you. Let's make it a triple battle!" Hyouske said.
"Okay, I accept," Sora said. Both trainers stood on opposite sides from each other.
"The battle between Sora and Hyouske is about to begin! Both trainers has agreed into a triple battle! The battle's over when all three are rendered unable to battle! Choose and begin!" Don George announced. Hyouske took out three Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go! Servine, Timburr, and Eelektrik!" Hyouske called. Servine, Timburr, and Eelektrik came on out. Sora took out three of his Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go! Tepig, Oshawott, and Golett!" Sora called out.
"Now, begin! Hyouske has the first move!" Don Geroge instructed.
"Timburr! Use Pound on Tepig! Servine! Use Vine Whip on Golett! Eelektrik! Use Spark on Oshawott!" Hyouske ordered.
"Dodge!" Sora called out. Tepig, Oshawott, and Golett dodged the attacks unleashed. "Tepig! Use Ember on Servine! Oshawott! Use Water Gun on Timburr! Golett! Use Shadow Punch Eelektrik!" Sora ordered. Tepig spes Ember from his snout as Oshawott fires Water Gun at Timburr, and Golett unleashed Shadow Punch onto Eelektrik.
"Timburr! Rock Throw at Tepig! Eelektrik! Use Crunch on Golett! Servine! Use Twister on Oshawott!" Hyouske ordered. Timburr unleashed Rock Throw as Eelektrik lands a bite onto Golett, and Servine unleashed Twister and catches the sea otter Pokémon in the twister. "Okay now! Timburr! Use Low Kick on Tepig! Eelektrik! Use Spark on Oshawott! Sevine! Leaf Blade on Golett!" Hyouske's three Pokémon rushed right at Sora's Pokémon.
"Golett! Take the hit from Eelektrik! Tepig! use Flame Charge on Servine! Oshawott! use Sacred Sword on Timburr!" Sora ordered. Golett gets in front of Eelektrik and takes the hit, dealing in zero damage. Tepig rushes at Servine with Flame Charge and Oshawott lands a hit a hit with Sacred Sword.
"Yes! By having Golett get in front of Eelektrik like that, it takes no damage from Spark! And the other hits from Tepig and Oshawott, just adds a zesty flavor!" Cilan said.
"Okay, Oshawott! Use Razor Shell!" Sora ordered. Oshawott unleashed Razor Shell and lands a hit on Eelektrik, Servine, and Timburr.
"Wow! That Sora kid is even stronger than I thought! I'm enjoying this! Timbur! Low Kick again! Servine! Leaf Blade! Eelektrik! Crunch!" Hyouske ordered. All of the Pokémon went to attack their opponents.
"Golett! Shadow Punch!" Sora ordered. Golett lands Shadow Punch onto Servine. "Tepig! Use Flame Charge!" Tepig charges at Eelektrik with Flame Charge and lands a perfect hit. "Oshawott! Use Aqua Jet!" Oshawott shuts his eyes and goes out of control. Sora winced when he realized Oshawott has mastered Aqua Jet yet. Oshawott lands right on the ground.
"What was that about?" Ventus asked.
"It seems Oshawott hasn't mastered Aqua Jet just yet. Sora still needs work on that," Cilan said.
"Servine! Leaf Blade on Oshawott!" Hyouske ordered. Servine came at Oshawott with Leaf Blade, ready to strike.
"Oshwaott! Sacred Sword!" Sora ordered. Oshawott uses his scalchop and comes at Servine as the two of them clashed.
"Timburr! Use Low Kick! Eelektrik! Use Crunch!" Hyoukse ordered. Timburr and Eelektrik came at their oppoents with their chosen attacks.
"Tepig! Ember! Golett! Use Mega Punch!" Sora ordered. Tepig lands a hit with Ember onto Timburr, and Golett lands a powerful punch onto Eelektrik. Oshwaott overpowers Servine and lands a hit with Sacred Sword. All three of Hyouske's Pokémon had been taken down.
"Servine, Eelektrik, and Timburr are all unable to battle! Tepig, Oshawott, and Golett wins! The battle goes to Sora!" Don George announced. The small crowd cheered for Sora for his win. Hyouske went up to Sora and shook his hand.
"That was awesome, Sora! I enjoyed our battle greatly!" Hyouske said.
"Thanks, Hyouske! You should be proud of the way you battled," Sora said.
Don George smiled as he approached the two trainers.
"That was a fine battle the both of you have displayed. You both have raised your Pokémon well. Take your Pokémon to be healed," Don George said.
Later after healing Oshawott, Tepig, and Golett, Sora went to watch Kairi practice. Purrloin was using Night Slash.
"That was great, Purrloin," Kairi said. Cilan was still frightened of Purrloin, but he was impressed by how well Purrloin was praticing.
"You are so going to knock them dead in the Contest in three days," Aqua said.
"Thank you, Aqua," Kairi said.
On the next day, Kairi and Purrloin were doing some practice for the upcoming Contest. Sora, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth were watching her practice.
"Very good, Kairi and Purrloin," Meowth said.
"OKay, Purrloin! Use Feint Attack, and then Night Slash!" Kairi ordered. Purrloin vanishes for a moment, then she swipes at the air. Purrloin has perfected her combo well. "That was wonderful." She pets Purrloin. The devious Pokémon purred upon the praise. "You earned yourself a Poffin." She fed Purrloin the Poffin. Purrloin eate it with glee. Just then, a Liepard appeared from out of nowhere, startling Purrloin. Sora, Pikachu, Angel, and Meowth went up to her.
"Kairi, you okay?" Sora asked.
"I'm okay, Sora," Kairi said. She turned to see the leopard-like Pokémon standing in place. "A Liepard."
"If I remember right, that's what Purrloin evolves into, ain't it?" Meowth asked.
"That's exactly right," a femine voice spoke. They turned to see a teenaged girl with blonde hair with two large pigtails, going down to her hips. She wore a frilly dress with a white top and a crimson skirt. She gave off a snobbish aura, almost like Ursula when they were in the Sinnoh region. She approached Kairi and observed her. "You must be Kairi, correct?"
"Yes. And you would be?" Kairi asked.
"It is only fair that I introduce myself. My name is Beatrice. And I must say, that is the sorriest excuse for a Pokémon I have ever seen. The idea of your Purrloin measuring up to my Liepard is laughable," Beatrice said. Kairi didn't like her attitude one bit.
"I'll have you know that my Purrloin is cute, so I'll thank you not to make fun of my Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Or what? Sic your Purrloin on me?" Beatrice asked, jokingly.
"It sounds very tempting," Kairi said.
"I seen you in the Striaton Contest on TV. Your skills are adequite, but you're just a mere amatuer compared to me. And I most certainly will enjoy seeing you get dropped from the Contest," Beatrice said, giving off a snobbish laugh. She and her Liepard walked away.
"Why does she remind me so much of Crimson?" Kairi asked.
"Forget her, Kairi. She's not worth it," Sora said. Kairi looked right at her boyfriend.
"You're right, Sora. I shouldn't let her get to me. Besides, who even care what that snob thinks?" Kairi asked.
"That's telling it like it is, Kairi," Meowth said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Two more days has passed as the time for the Virbank Pokémon Contest has officially begun.
"Welcome one and all to the Virbank City Pokémon Contest, right here in the beautiful Virbank City! And to many of you may know, the winner of the Contest will be holding the beautiful Virbank Contest Ribbon! Winning five Ribbons will earn you a spot in the prestigious Grand Festival! And now, it is time to introduce our panel of judges! The head of the Pokémon Contest Committee, Mr. Nathaniel Basil!" Diane announced.
"Hello one and all!" Mr. Basil greeted.
"Miss Unova, Julianna Minerva!" Diane announced.
"Thank you all!" Julianna said.
"And last and certainly not least, we are joined by a very special guest! A member of the Unova region's Elite Four, we have Caitlin!" Catlin has made her appearance from a blooming flower. She wore a large, fluffy, pale pink hat atop her head. She wore white clothes with long sleeves, a collar and a transparent pink cape. She also has a large white ribbon tied around her waist and a long skirt that is cut in the middle, resembling two flower petals. In addition, she wears a long skirt with a dark shade of pink and matching-colored wedges heels with brown soles.
"Hello! I am happy to be here!" Caitlin announced.
"I didn't know she was here," Ventus said.
"Neither did I," Aqua said.
"And before we forget about me, I'm Diane! And now, let's begin our glorious Virbank City Pokémon Contest!" Diane announced as the crowd cheered on. "And now, we bgin with our very first Coordinator! We have Beatrice!" The crowd cheered as Beatrice has made her appearence on stage. She took out a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule and threw it. The Ball Capsule has a blue Star Seal.
"Go! Liepard!" Beatrice called out. Lieaprd came on out with a swarm of blue stars. Lieaprd meows upon entry.
"Liepard makes an elegant entrance! I wonder what sort of performance she's going to give us today!" Diane announced.
"Liepard! Shadow Ball!" Diane ordered. Liepard unleashed Shadow Ball as it floats in the air. "Now, use Swift!" Liepard unleashed Swift, surrounding it with stars.
"Liepard makes good use of Shadow Ball and Swift, giving it a cosmic touch!" Diane announced.
"Now, use Shadow Claw!" Beatrice ordered. Lieaprd jumps up in the air and swipes at the Shadow Ball and Swift combo, making the stars scatter with the shadow particles linger.
"Beatrice wows the crowd with a Shadow Claw finish!" Diane announced.
"The combination of Shadow Ball and Swift was very well done! One of the best works I have ever seen," Mr. Basil said.
"It was lovely," Juilianna added.
"Agreed. The use of Shadow Claw in the end, as well as the scatter of the stars, is truly creative," Caitlin said.
"That was a delicious combination Beatrice has displayed. Kairi will undoubtedly have some fierce competition with her," Cilan said.
"You're right, Cilan. She will definitely earn herself some huge points," Terra said.
Beatrice and Liepard bow their heads in as the crowd. Beatrice grinned.
"I would like to see that girl with the Purrloin top that," Beatrice said in her thoughts.
The Contest went on as an Excarill, a Boldore, a Swana, a Volcarona, a female Jellicent, and a Watchog has done their performances.
"That was a wonderful display of talent from these gifted Coordinators!" Diane announced. Beatrice watched on as she petted Liepard as it rested its head on her lap.
"Gifted? Please. They're a bunch of amatuers compared to me. Not one of them even deserves the title of Coordinator," Beatrice said.
"And now it's time for our next Coordinator, Kairi!" Diane annoucned as Kairi came on stage. Kairi came in wearing her Contest dress. She has her Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a white Line Seal. She threw it.
"Go! Purrloin!" Kairi called out. Purrloin came on out with a white line swirling around her. Purrloin does a stance before the crowd. The line was still in play as Kairi has special plans for that.
"Purrloin makes an elegant entrance with a stance! Let's see what she's got!" Diane announced.
"Purrloin! Use Hone Claws, and then Feint Attack!" Kairi ordered. Purrloin becan by enchancing her claws, shapening them up. Purrloin jumped up and headed for the line.
"Purrloin begins with Hone Claw, and now it's using Feint Attack!" Diane announced.
"Now, use Night Slash all around!" Kairi ordered. Purrloin swipes her claws at the lines, slicing them up. The slashes gave off a shining glow, making Purrloin's claws glow like they were stars in the night sky.
"Would you all look at that, ladies and gentlemen! Purrloin's claws are giving off a majestic glow! Even a Dark Type Pokémon can lighten up my day!" Diane announced.
"Kairi's performance has given off a sweet pleasing taste! That has earned a five star review!" Cilan said.
"I simply could not take my eyes off of Purrloin. The use of those Dark Type moves were very creative," Mr. Basil said.
"Purrloin's cuteness and cunning has won me over. Well played," Julianna said.
"I loved every second of the performance. That deserves a lot of respect," Caitlin said.
Backstage, Beatrice was shocked to see that Kairi has scored just as the same amount of points as she did.
"What-what-what?! This is an outrage! No one should have the same or more than moi! No, I will stand for this!" Beatrice said, gritting her teeth. Kairi has returned to the backstage as Sora went to greet her.
"You enjoyed that, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Every minute of it, Kairi. You really knocked them dead out there," Sora said. That made Kairi smile.
"Thank you, Sora. That means a lot," Kairi said. Beatrice approached the couple with a stern look on her face. "Something I can help you with?"
"Just who do you think you are measuring up to me?" Beatrice asked accusingly.
"Excuse me?" Kairi asked.
"Don't play innocent with me! I know for certain you're truoing to pull one on me!" Beatrice said.
"Look, I don't know what your problem is, but I came here to compete fair and square, so don't be pointing your fingers at me," Kairi said.
"We apologize for the wait, but the results are in! We will now see which one of our eight lucky Coorindators will be moving on! And here we go!" Diane announced as Kairi and Beatrice has made it to the finals. "And the results are in! Now to select the Coordinators battling one another!" It turns out that Beatrice will be having her battle first as Kairi will be having hers third. Beatrice looked directly at her.
"Let's just see how good you are after I win the Contest," Beatrice said.
"You got to beat the others before you do that," Kairi stated.
"I intend to," Beatrice said.
With that said, Beatrice has entered the battlefield against her opponent.
"And now it is time for the first battle for our five minute round! First we have Beatrice against Iggy! The battle is five minutes, and the goal is to take out as much points as possible before the time runs out! Now, begin!" The clock starts running. Both of Beatrice and Iggy took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Zwelious!" Iggy called out. Zwelious came out from a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a blue Fire Seal. Zwelious came out with blue flames erupting form the Pokéball.
"Go! Meinfoo!" Beatrice called out. Meinfoo came on out with yellow stars. Meinfooo came out in a twirl. Meinfoo takes a stance.
"Zwelious! Use Crunch!" Iggy ordered. Zwelious rushed towards Meinfoo. Beatrice grinned.
"Use Fake Out!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo's hands glow orange as it claps them together. When it claps, a large shockwave of air comes out of them, stoppingZwelious from using Crunch. Iggy has lost some points from the use. "Now, use Double Slap!" Meinfoo gave Zwelious a couple of slaps across its two heads. Iggy loses some more points in the process.
"Beatrice has started off with Fake Out, and then gave Zwelious a Double Slap in the face, on each head!" Diane announced.
"Now, use Focus Blast!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo has unleashed Focus Blast and it came out beautifully. It makes contact with Zwelious as Iggy has lost some more points.
"She's not giving him a chance to counterattack," Iris said.
"She has got to have loads of ingredients to make her dish come out super spicy for Zwelious. She is relentless," Cilan said.
"I have a feeling this is what she's got in store for Kairi when she faces off against her," Meowth said.
"Now, use Forve Palm!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo came at Zwelious with Force Palm, earning a paralysis in the process.
"Uh-oh! Zwelious is now paralyzed from that Force Palm! What is Iggy going to do?" Diane asked.
"Focus Blast again!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo unleashed Focus Blast and it lands a hit onto Zwelious, earning a knockout.
"Zwelious is unable to battle! Beatrice goes right!" Diane announced. The crowd cheered as Beatrice has grinnined.
"I would expect nothing less," Beatrice smirked.
The second went on between a Scrafty and a Garbodor. The Garbodor has overwhelmed the Scrafty in the match.
"And now it is time for our next battle! Let's bring out Kairi on my left, and Lenore on my right! Five minutes on the clock and begin!" Diane announced. The clock has started to run as both trainers has took out a Pokéball. Woobat's Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a pink Heart Seal as Lenore threw hers with a yellow Heart seal.
"Go! Woobat!" Kairi called out. Her Woobat came out with a big pink heart as Woobat flew about.
"Go! Audino!" Lenore called out. Audino came out with yellow hearts. "Audino! Begin with Pound!" Audino jumped to land a Pound onto Woobat.
"Woobat! Dodge and use Air Cutter!" Kairi ordered. Woobat dodged and unleashed Air Cutter. Audino is struck, making Lenore lose some points.
"Kairi makes a good start by taking out Lenore's points!" Diane announced.
"Not bad! Audino! Use Hyper Voice!" Lenore ordered. Audino unleashed a powerful soundwave from its mouth. Woobat is struck in the wave, making Kairi lose some points in the process.
"Audino makes a dazzling comeback with Hyper Voice! Wonder how Kairi's Woobat will get a handle on that!" Diane announced.
"Woobat! Use Double Team!" Kairi ordered. Woobat has made several copies of herself. "Now, use Air Cutter!" Woobat unleashed Air Cutter and struck Audino greatly. THe clock is now down to three minutes.
"Audino! Use Hyper Voice again!" Lenore ordered. Audino unleashed Hyper Voice, but the copies all vanish, leaving only the original missing.
"Woobat! Use Gust!" Kairi ordered. Woobat has flapped her wings, catching Audino in the wind. Lenore has lost some more points with that. "Now, use Gust!" Woobat unleashed Gust and they all struck Audino. Lenore loses some more points in the process.
"A delicious combination! Air Cutter and Gust is the perfect belnd of delicious flavors!" Cilan said.
"Audino! Try to use Double Slap!" Lenore ordered.
"Use Confusion!" Kairi ordered. Woobat uses Confusion on Audino and slams it into the ground. Audino had been taken down. It was two minutes remaining.
"Audino is unable to battle and Kairi moves right on!" Diane announced. Beatrice was watching from the back as she gave a sour look on her face.
"She's better than I thought. I am hoping that she makes it to the final round, so I can have the pleasure of crushing her myself," Beatrice said.
The fourth battle has concluded as a Sliggoo and a Gurdurr have battled. Gurgurr had been taken down by Sliggoo. Beatrice and her Meinfoo battled the Garbodor from before and came out on top thanks to Meinfoo's Fake Out. Now it was Kairi's turn to battle.
"And now that Beatrice has bested her opponent, the next battle is Kairi against Ryan-Lee!" Diane announced. Ryan-Lee wore a karate robe with a golden bandana on his forehead. Both of Kairi and Ryan-Lee took out a Pokéball and threw it. Ryan-Lee's Pokéball had his in a Ball Capsule with a pink Floral Seal. The clock starts running.
"Go! Sliggoo!" Ryan-Lee called out. Sliggo came out with a flurry of flower petals.
"Go! Woobat!" Kairi called out. Woobat came out with hearts surrounding her.
"Sliggo! Use Water Gun!" Ryan-Lee ordered. Sliggo unleashed Water Gun right at Woobat.
"Double Team and then Air Cutter!" Kairi ordered. Woobat made several copies of herself as Sliggoo's Water Gun goes through one of them. Ryan-Lee loses some points.
"Ryan-Lee's points has taken some damage from Kairi's Air Cutter and Double Team combo!" Diane announced.
"Sliggoo! Use Dragon Breath!" Ryan-Lee ordered. Sliggoo unleashed Dragon Breath right at Woobat. The doubles were taken out.
"Gust!" Kairi ordered. Woobat unleashed Gust right at Sliggoo. Ryan-Lee had lost some points when Sliggoo has taken a hit. "Now, use Confusion!" Woobat lifts Sliggoo up in the air and slams it right on the ground. Ryan-Lee had lost some points from the attacks. The clock is down to two minutes and forty-five seconds.
"Kairi is making good with her moves!" DIane announced.
"Sliggoo! Water Gun, again and again!" Ryan-Lee ordered. Sliggoo has unleashed Water Gun and it struck Woobat repeatedly. Kairi is now losing some points from each hit.
"Ryan-Lee s making a comeback with Water Gun!" Diane announced.
"Confusion!" Kairi ordered. Woobat uses Confusion on the water and sends it back at Sliggoo. Ryan-Lee has lost some points from the hits, and from Woobat's Confusion used to block Water Gun.
"Air Cutter!" Kairi ordered. Woobat unleashed Air Cutter and struck Sliggoo. Ryan-Lee has lost some points.
"Sliggoo! Use Water Gun!" Ryan-Lee ordered. Sliggoo unleashed Water Gun right at Woobat. Woobat got hit by the water attack. Kairi had lost some points from the use.
"Woobat! Use Gust and then use Confusion!" Kairi ordered. Woobat flapped her wings and unleashed a gust of wind. Woobat uses Confusion to control Gust and sends it right at Sliggoo and lands a hit. Sliggoo been taken down.
"And Sligoo is unable to battle, and Woobat is the winner! Kairi is moving on in the finals!" Diane announced. Beatrice was watching closely.
"Looks like I get my wish after all," Beatrice said.
"Now it's the time for Kairi to win her second Ribbon," Ventus said.
"I agree. Kairi can take her down," Aqua said.
A few minutes later, both Kairi and Beatrice got ready for the final round. Beatrice smirked as Kairi got ready to battle.
"And now, we are ready for the final round of the Virbank CIty Pokémon Contest! On my left, it's Kairi! And on my right, it's Beatrice! Who is going to be earning the Virbank City Contest Ribbon and who will not? That's what we're here to find out!" Diane annoucned.
"I've been waiting for this moment. I'm going to enjoy taking you out," Beatrice said in her thoughts.
"I'm going to put this snob in her place where she belongs," Kairi said in her thoughts.
"Let the battle begin!" Diane announced as the clock started to run. Kairi and Beatrice took their Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go! Woobat!" Kairi called out. Woobat came out with a flood of hearts.
"Go forth, Meinfoo!" Beatrice called out. Meinfoo came out with yellow stars.
"Woobat! Use Confusion!" Kairi ordered.
"Meinfoo! Use Fake Out!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo uses Fake Out on Woobat. When it struck, Woobat flinched. Kairi has lost some points form the use.
"A good start by using Fake Out!" Diane announced.
"Now, use Focus Blast!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo unleashed Focus Blast and it lands a hit onto Woobat. Kairi has lost more points. "Now, use Force Palm!" Meinfoo came right at Woobat and uses Force Palm right at Woobat. Kairi has lost some points.
"Come on, Kairi. You can do it," Sora said.
"Force Palm again!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo lands a hit on the bat Pokémon. Kairi has lost some points.
"Beatrice is making good use of those moves!" Diane announced. Kairi clutched her fist.
"Woobat! Use Double Team!" Kairi ordered. Woobat has made several copies of herself, hoping to catch Meinfoo off guard.
"You're trying to catch me off guard with Double Team; how garish," Beatrice said.
"Woobat! Use Air Cutter!" Kairi ordered. Woobat unleashed Air Cutter right at Meinfoo. Meinfoo has taken some hits. Beatrice has lost some of her points. "Now, use Gust!" Woobat flaps her wings, taking Meinfoo in the gust. Beatrice has lost some points.
"Kairi is making a comeback with those Flying Type moves! Beatrice has got to come up with something quick!" Diane annoucned. Beatrice growled in anger.
"I won't forgive this! Meinfoo! Use Force Palm on that Woobat!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo came at Woobat with Force Palm to land a hit.
"Woobat! Use Confusion!" Kairi ordered. Woobat uses Confusion on Meinfoo and held it in the air. "Now, use Air Cutter!" Woobat has unleashed Air Cutter right at the martial arts Pokémon.
"Meinfoo! Use Focus Blast!" Beatrice ordered. Meinfoo unleashed a ball of energy and lands a hit onto Woobat, making Kairi lose some more points.
"It looks like Kairi's comeback has been cut short!" Diane announced.
"Woobat! Use Gust, but spin!" Kairi ordered. Woobat flaps her wings, catching Meinfoo in Woobat's Gust. "Now, use Air Cutter!" Woobat unleashed Air Cutter and lands a hit onto Meinfoo, making Beatrice lose some points. "Now, use Confusion!" Woobat uses Confusion on the air attacks and Beatrice was losing more of her points from each hit. Meinfoo is now down for the count.
"Meinfoo has been taking down, and Woobat is the winner! Kairi wins the Contest!" Diane announced as the crowd cheered. Beatrice growled in anger.
"I cannot believe that I have lost! I won't ever forgive this outrage! I won't ever forgive you for cheating me out of my Ribbon!" Beatrice exclaimed.
Kairi sttod before the judges as she, Woobat, and Purrloin stood before Mr. Basil with her second Ribbon.
"And Kairi is presented the Virbank City Ribbon for her victory!" Diane announced.
"Congratulations, Kairi. Once again you have amazed us all! We are hoping that you will keep it up," Mr. Basil said. Kairi accepts her second Contest Ribbon.
"Thank you," Kairi said.
"Let's all give a round of applause for Kairi for winning the Virbank CIty Pokémon Contest!" DIane annoucned as the crowd cheered on. "We hope to see you all in our very next Pokémon Contest soon! Until then, that is all!"
Kairi has changed back into her regular clothes as she met with her friends. Sora gave his girlfriend a deserved hug.
"Good work, Kairi," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. I'm glad that you supported me, Sora," Kairi said. Sora smiled as he and Kairi kisses each other. Iris gushed as Axew blushed and went back into her hair. Beatrice was watching from the distance.
"Enjoy your victory while you can, Kairi. Just you wait, I will have my revenge for this outrage; just you wait and see!" Beatrice said in her thoughts.
Now that Kairi has earned two Contest Ribbons, she only needs three more to enter the Grand Festival. Now all that remains is the Gym Battle in Virbank City before returning to Castelia CIty for Sora's battle with Burgh. How will Sora fare in the battle against Roxie? Just wait if you want find out.
