"We'll make for Edo with the sunrise," Sesshomaru commanded, ever the General. "For now, rest."
He glanced thoughtfully at Kagome.
Though the warmer months fast approached, the chill persisted with nightfall.

She grinned at his offered Mokomoko.
A giddy playfulness grew within her, smile dimming to something coy.
"Coming, mate," she teased, watching him closely.
Time allowed for comfort with her reality, but she seldom said it aloud.
His answering purr – which he swore was no such thing – filled her with an ache.
Too bad we're not alone, she thought with a sigh as she crawled into his lap.
