Now we go to the aftermath of what happened last chapter, the pain they went through and what most of the folks who were saved would have to do now, and that some things are gonna have to be said… Farewell, this is a change that won't be easy for many, but they'll endure.

This will also ignite some complications through the heart and mind of someone who is truly hurt, but they're all hurt. After all, they did lose Penny, and that is a major blow next to the loss of Vine, Team RWBY and Jaune, so here we go folks.

Spells and Louds.

Chapter 644: A Remnant of a Farewell.

(Somewhere above Vacuo.)

The Aegis Battlecruiser remains above the location where they all have been teleported and they hand over tons of supplies to the civilians who are ready to make the trip, and with the huntsmen who are going to keep them safe through the whole journey.

Among those who wish to go on the journey, are the mother, brother and the former butler of the Schnee family name, and with them is the new Winter Maiden, Winter Shcnee.

Those who are going to keep them safe: Oscar Pine (Ozpin), Lie Ren, Nora Valkyrie, Emerald Sustrai, Qrow Branwen, Robyn Hill, Harriet Bree, Elm Ederne and Marrow Amin.

The choice has been made, after Commander Freezer Burn (Lincoln Spellman) made the announcement that Atlas has fallen, Mantle is in ruins and the damn has been broken and the whole place has become a watery grave, a cold lake.

So they asked the former citizens about what they wish to take: To make their way to start a new life in the city of Vacuo, or to come with them and start a brand new life in a new world, and then came a darker path to choices, when the Guardian Gyro made the announcement.

The Guardian spoke, that once you have chosen to make a home into a new world, all connections to Remnant through the cosmic gateways will be shut down, and they won't be back until Gyro says so, which means they have to prepare their goodbyes and possible never see the world of Remnant ever again.

Gyro told them why. "After what happened, after the losses we gained, we cannot risk Salem getting into our worlds and causing mayhem… So, I will break all ties of Remnant to our world, until the word that I have been given is so."

"If you wanna start a new life in either the world where we came from or any other world we are tied with, then that means you must say your possible last goodbyes to the friends you all have in this world, and then we can make the trip."

"The whole thing is your choice, not ours. Whether you stay in Remnant and at Vacuo, or come and start a new life away from the Grimm chaos that has ignited from the dawn of Salem's attacks."

"We have freed tons of Grimm from the control of Salem, as is the plan worked perfectly in that form and we will take them with us to be observed for their own natural habitat, and when the time does come, then we will come back and see how we can assist."

His words made so much sense, and so they made the choice to say goodbye to the people they knew from Atlas and Mantle, and it's more than 75 percent of the folks of Atlas and mantle combined.

Now, Lincoln and Linka watch as the cargo trucks are beginning to hand in supplies and vehicles to the folks of Mantle. "A shame we can't just give them a lift to the city of Vacuo" said Linka.

Lincoln sighs. "They made their choice. They wanna try and survive the trip to the city, which means they don't wanna come into the Battlecruiser, but they will accept the vehicles we'll give to them."

The peoples and the huntsmen have been given 5 Armadillo transports, 4 Armored Personnel Carriers and 6 Multi-Gunner I.F.V's and each has been modified to adapt to the weapons of the Huntsmen.

Jordan then stands with them. "We're all going through tough times, this is just… The start." Lincoln holds her hand, even he knows that they're all hurting after the loss of someone, but then they see Qrow sitting by himself inside of the Armadillo and drinking.

They know that he's a mess, again after the loss of Ruby, Yang, and they're friends Weiss and Blake, and especially Jaune. Ren and Nora are trying their best to be strong and maintain their huntsman selves to help move the things they need for the travel, even Winter Schnee.

"Things are hard, and we don't know what we can do to help" said Linka. "But, perhaps leave them be to the path that's ahead of them now. We all wish we could've been here sooner, but we all can't predict what happens next."

Then Clover goes to them. "Hey."

The trio turn around and greet Clover, along with his remaining team. "Hey Clover, and company." they didn't seem happy to see Harriet, not after what she did. Harriet looks away and is comforted by Elm.

Then Marrow speaks. "Thank you, and to the guys who helped Clover. You all pulled through and helped him come back. I just wished we could…"

"Save it Marrow, don't push it." Clover then goes over to the trio. "It's been a ride huh? Not much stuff that I did, but I enjoyed being part of the team you guys had, and…. I am sorry for Penny, I just wish we came sooner, but…"

"No one can predict what would've happened next." They all see Gyro walk towards them. "But that does not mean her sacrifice and the ones from team RWBY and Jaune would've been in vain. We managed to secure the citizens and save all we can, even though we lost."

Gyro then looks down. "I wish I was stronger, strong enough to beat her. But she got the best of me and now… Now, all of this is happening, and there seems to be no chance in reclaiming what we have been deprived of." Gyro walks towards Clover.

"I know that you, along with the Winter Maiden and the remaining Huntsman and Huntresses can keep these folks safe, and continue the fight against Salem and her intentions."

Clover nods. "And we'll be waiting for when you guys come back, it was an honor to fight amongst a group of cosmic heroes, and defenders, well Royal Defenders." This makes them chuckle.

The rest of the team goes to Clover, and they all wish him well with his team, and defending the people of Atlas and Mantle. While that is happening, Oscar, Emerald, Ren and Nora see them talking.

"Well, we got help, but….. Just wish things would've been different if they came to help us on time" said Nora. Ren places his hand onto her shoulder.

"None of us saw what would've came, and none of us knew what the outcome of the whole situation would be. But, they managed to show up and do what they could, and even they couldn't predict what could've happened next, and even though we…."

"Even though we lost some of our friends, let us not endure the loss and hope that wherever they are, they're going to be alright."

Oscar's eyes glow and that means Ozpin has taken over. "From what you should know, the possibilities of Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang and Jaune being alright is a slim chance. We were not informed properly on what the outcomes of falling would do."

Then Shang Tsung goes to them. "Which could mean they are safe and sound, and possibly trying to figure out how to come back here. Also, sorry for eavesdropping, but I had to speak what I overheard."

They were surprised by what he said. Emerald then asks. "So, you guys think you can find them?"

Shang Tsung thinks about this. "That is something not easy to comprehend. As you should know, that the being from the Staff of Creation is the one who made that said world and without him in our possession, we cannot be able to figure out where your friends are."

"But, the presence of their auras is not too far to be dubbed dead, they seem to be trapped somewhere that the guardian and myself couldn't find, and not even Bill Cipher could see where they are. This dimension you all live in is new and thriving and blocking paths of parallel hidden worlds."

They felt as if that was a bad sign. "So, that's it then. We're not gonna see them anymore" said Emerald.

"I did not say you will not see each other anymore, just know that they will come back. Possibly not tomorrow or anytime soon, but just be patient and then they will return" replied Shang Tsung, then they see the last of the resources have been loaded and the Aegis is ready to depart.

They say their last goodbyes to Clover, and even to the surviving Huntsmen and Huntresses, but Qrow wants to be left alone, then Winter goes towards Lincoln. "Please give this to Martin McKenzie."

Lincoln sees the flash drive, and it's orange and green colored and has the symbol of Penny. "I was told that when something happens, that he should see what is inside of it, and possibly the rest of your team should see it too."

Lincoln nods, and he wipes away some tears. He then looks to the new winter maiden. "Thank you, Winter Schnee and stay safe with the journey ahead."

Winter nods. "My sister, Weiss… She wouldn't want me or anyone to give up on what we're fighting for, and I shall continue with the task that Penny has given me, always."

Lincoln nods and shakes her hand. "Till we meet again, Winter Schnee, Winter Maiden of Remnant."

(Somewhere far from the shores of Atlas and Mantle.)

Right now there are tons of aircraft making their way through the large lake that was made, and some drones continue to do some last minute scans and checkups on the place for any signs of life, and there is none.

Hollow's forces have already left the world of Remnant, and they're waiting for when Gyro cuts off the ties between this world and all other worlds.

At the Floating Fortress, the whole thing has been repaired and everything is being prepared to take off back to earth, and right now we see Autobot Hound preparing to go back to his Cybertron, but then he sees Martin looking towards Mantle and through his tablet.

Hound goes towards Martin. "Hey, I'm gonna head off now." But he gets no response and Hound knows why. "Look, McKenzie, I get that you're upset. But know that, she wouldn't want you to be like this. Penny would want you to keep going."

But Martin still doesn't respond back and so Hound takes that as a sign that he should go. "Buddy, mourning is another path that will take some time to get over, a step to closure and moving on and I know you can handle it. See you guys around."

Hound then transforms and he drives off through the portal opened by Jack Cyber. The cybernetic humanoid then looks to his friend and walks towards him and looks to the ruined land of Mantle. "We're not doing well, that I know."

Martin sighs and looks to the picture of himself and Penny. "She's gone, and I don't know how else I can cope with this. It's just…" Martin then wipes away a few tears. "Hard, for me."

"We know." Victor stands with him. "Gonna be hard for us too, and harder for the rest of our friends back in Royal Woods when they find out that Penny is gone." He then looks towards Martin. "But, the memories of who she is and what she has done will live on, within all of us."

Martin then looks to the sky. "We found Amity Tower and we told Professor Polendina, and…. He's…" Martin then calms down. "He'll be going with the folks of Atlas and Mantle, alongside Maria and make the trip to Vacuo."

"Then our preparations to leave are not done yet" said Jack Cyber. He then walks off the floating fortress and transforms and he flies by some flying Grimm all headed to the Floating Fortress and are led by the Grimm Alpha Megoliath through the portal, and to their new home away from Salem's control.

Then Victor walks towards the portal to check on the condition of where the Grimm are gonna be, and then the Aegis BattleCruiser arrives and Martin notices it. "Well, time to leave."

But then he sees a message on his phone, from Lincoln. "What the hell? What does he want?"

(Royal Woods, Michigan.)

The Portal is opened at the Great Gate near Spellman Estate, and waiting for them is Mayor Davis, Sienna Khan and Michelle Lewis with some other folks from the town and the local residents who were from Mantle as well.

Then coming through are the citizens of Mantle and Atlas, and the group sees the new world they have entered, but they know this is just one of many worlds they could reside in. But they see Sienna Khan and they are surprised.

The leader of the Faunus in this world approaches them. "Welcome to Royal Woods, Michigan citizens of Atlas and Mantle. Welcome to Earth."

The folks smile and they go over and greet the other folks, then the team of the Royal Defenders show up and each one not looking too good about what's happened.

Michelle Lewis goes towards them and so does Courage and his parents, and they all have heard about what happened, to Penny and to the others who fought hard on Remnant and gave their lives to save everyone.

They all look to the Great Gate, and is closes, possibly for who knows how long. Lincoln can tell that things will ba hard for everyone. 'Whatever happens next, I hope we can deal with the outcome of what we had to ensure and what we had to witness.'
