So, a lot of stuff is happening. From the High School, the town and even at the Royal Fortress. Tons of conflicts from the moments that came down with what happened in the world of Remnant, and that they might spark some issues for the team and they're objectives. Enjoy reading this guys.
Spells and Louds.
Chapter 645: Aftermath from a Shattered Remnant.
(Royal Woods High School.)
The Spellman's: Luna, Leni and Sunset walk towards the school, and they meet up with Lynn and Luan and they walk together, but they notice the many eyes looking at them with a hurt expression.
Leni knows what this is about, the loss of someone who once attended their High School, Penny Polendina. Word got out, and now everyone is saddened that a member and friends of the Royal Defenders has fallen, and at the world where she came from too.
Luna then sees Sam, she then departs from her siblings and goes over to speak to her, the duo then walk together as they hold hands. Leni, meets with Loni, and the duo share a hug after what has transpired.
Luan, Lynn and Sunset Shimmer leave them be and go off elsewhere. But each one of them is going through some stuff that has transpired from the other day.
Luan. 'If we had been there sooner, then maybe things wouldn't have been so wrong. Why did I have that comedy gig the same time that all happened? How the heck do we cope with this now?'
Lynn. 'I never thought I'd hear the day we…. The team loses someone, this is as dark as the moments our family was made smaller. Guess Linc and the others aren't fairing so well at school after what happened.'
Sunset. 'This is a dark time for all of us, we lost so much during that whole conflict and we didn't even know what would happen, but fate tends to backfire and show us a pathway that doesn't feel right, a pathway that won't give us any good chances of making the fight on our favor.'
Leni. 'Penny, I don't even know how Martin and the others are handling this situation. We've always been friends with her and we have been spending so many amazing times with her as she lived in our world. I just wish we spoke to her one last time and said a proper farewell.'
Sam. 'This is gonna be rough, I mean Penny is gone. Never thought it would happen, and never thought we'd lose more than our friends. That mission was a bust and we failed.'
Luna. 'We lost someone, someone we met years ago and called our friend and she saw us all as family. I hope we don't have to endure something like that again, it's too much too handle and…'
Luna then sees a message on her phone and it's from Lincoln. Sam goes over and checks what the text message is all about.
Lincoln/Son – Mom, tomorrow Jordan, along with myself and Linka are going to Great Lakes City tomorrow. Ronnie Anne wants to show us something that's going on there and we're wondering if we can have a certain ninja based ally come and see as well.
"Well, looks like I got something to do tomorrow" said Luna.
(The Mayor's Hall.)
Mayor Davis, is talking with Sienna Khan about the whole thing of the new folks who came the other day, and with them is Neil Spellman. They begin to talk about the changes made.
"The many Faunus and local folks of Atlas and Mantle are all trying their best to restart their lives on our world, though most are keen into going to other worlds and make a living there" said Sienna Khan.
"We can't force them to stay here, this is their choice and they all have been through so much from the fall of their homes at Atlas and Mantle and I do feel sorry that this is what they're all going to have to endure" said Mayor Davis.
Neil sighs. "A lot of stuff is going on and we need to make sure that the folks that were from Mantle and Atlas are fine with living in either Royal Woods or Great Lakes City. Are they planning to go to any other towns?"
"From what we heard, yes" said Sienna Khan. "Some have thought about going to living in either Beaverton or Hazeltucky and some planning to go someplace out of Saginaw and it does sound like a good idea."
Mayor Davis nods. "This could be the start of the new way of life for everyone, not just humans in this world but also living with beings from other worlds and soon to spread to the rest of the countries."
Sienna Khan looks to Neil. "Anything from the Guardian?"
Neil knows what she means. "No. He hasn't spoken back to me since what happened, and there's still no way to hell are we able to return to Remnant. We are officially licked out until d=further notice, sorry. But there's nothing I can do, and we'd be violating something cosmic going there without the guardian's permission."
Sienna Khan nods. "I understand, Spellman. To ensure that Salem doesn't attempt to come to this world and bring forth ruin. But, I just hope that… That Blake is doing okay, wherever she is."
Neil knows, and is also saddened. "Yeah, same here. We lost a lot of good allies, the huntsmen and huntresses, a member of the team and now… We lost even more, the kingdom of Atlas and Mantle, gone. With no other way to go there, and no way to help those who are going through hardships."
"But we have to endure, for our friends and loved ones and to the fallen whose sacrifice will not be in vain, and I assure you Sienna Khan that one day we will go back to that world and we will finish off Salem and her misdeeds and we will reclaim the relics."
Sienna Khan feels determined by his words. "Yes, of course, and if that does happen. Then count me in."
Neil nods. "I know and I myself look forward to when the day comes, because Salem is going down." They then walk down the halls and talk about anything else, such as the outcome of FutureTech and how Martin is handling with the whole loss of Penny.
Things aren't going so well on that end though.
(Grimm Island.)
At this moment, the creatures of Grimm that were made by Salem, are now thriving onto this island as animals would do, the Grimm are mostly composed of: Wolves, Boars, Bears, Deathstalker's, Nevermore's, Megoliath's and what looks like flying dinosaurs.
On the island and monitoring the whole thing is Victor, and with him is Jack Cyber and Becky Jill Miller.
Victor goes towards Jack Cyber. "Everything seems fine, we have yet to know more about these Grimm, especially if they can even reproduce."
"There's so much more to know about the Grimm and not because we have one since last year." Jack Cyber and Victor look to the Grimm Alpha Megoliath, the one they have been friends with and he is leading his own herd of Grimm Megoliath's.
The duo sigh and look around the island filled with life and so much more for the Grimm to use as they live on this island near the Island of the Graboids. "Really is a bummer for us to lose two teammates" said Jack Cyber.
Victor sighs. "Clover chose his path to remain in Remnant and help his team, and Penny…" They both remain silent and look to the Royal Fortress at the ocean far from them and they sigh with some misery in their tone.
They know that someone onboard is having it harder than them, someone who helped fix Penny and bring her back to life, kinda like a father thing. They know that the start of grief and morning for Martin is only beginning and they fear for what happens as this progresses.
(The Royal Fortress.)
We now go to the main base of the FutureTech operations, and it's currently posted near the island where the Grimm are now residing on. But as of right now, no one is to go into the research lab of Martin McKenzie, unless he says otherwise.
Martin is in his lab and going through the boxes of all the things that Penny has owned, he sighs and then leaves the lab, but locks the door and he heads down the halls and passes by the Robotics Bay and he heads to the one room that no one has entered since last year, December. The room of Penny.
Martin enters and he sees everything is as it was before, but he has to begin packing everything into boxes and… And keeping the stuff away someplace else. That part is truly hard for him to handle.
Martin then sits on the bed and he sighs. "Penny, I miss you and I miss seeing you as someone as my daughter, and having you around with that happy personality that wants to make us all feel as joyful as you do, and now… You're gone and…."
Martin gets up, but then the flash drive from his jacket falls off and he looks to it and recalls. "Right, Commander gave this to me and said that this was from, Winter Schnee. Now what the heck would she give me this for?"
Martin sighs. "Might as well sees what this is all about." Martin then sees a holo-scanner on the desk next to Penny's bed and so he plugs it in and sees what this is and he's surprised what he's seeing and listening to.
Penny. "Alright, it is now on and ready for recording."
"Alright, salutations friends and Martin. If you are hearing this now, then it means that I have passed on and that the one who found it is the new winter maiden who recalled that I made this and left it behind in my room here in the Floating Fortress, and I know that the winter maiden is Winter Schnee."
"Things have turned foul and a little bit confusing as we have been battling to save the citizens of Atlas and Mantle, and fending off Salem's Grimm, and I know that this path to face her is something I have never ever faced before when I was part of the team, part of the Royal Defenders."
"Taking in the powers of the Winter Maiden was a task I never knew all about or never even knew would be possible, but I did what I had to and taking the big leap from the life away is a hard choice, but it's my choice and I know I'd do the right thing."
"There will be bad moments, like really, really bad moments that I will be facing, but I won't be alone and I won't have to face the odds on my own. I will also have to do whatever I can to maintain myself as I accept the bad moments that come my way."
"But a lot of good things have come to me and I am truly happy to be reunited with my friends here, especially Ruby. I told them so much about what you all have done for me and that many dentures I we4nt along to help fight off evil an train to become stronger."
"But the best and good moments that I will always have are…. are the memories of the bonds and friendships I have made with the folks I have called friends and family, and that is you Martin… You and the rest of the team. I have come to love the moments we had."
"The greatest of times I have come to know and love from everything we've done will never be a faded moment and I will never be gone, because as long as you remember me of the good and the less than comfortable moments, then Penny Polendina will never be gone."
"Don't let my end be something to hold you back, but let it be a reason to keep fighting and a reason to be there for friends who need it the most, and if you do miss the times we spent, then take time to recall everything we've done."
"I never forgot the day you fixed me, the day you have me a new form and a new life to look ahead to. Thank you, and I love you so much Martin McKenzie. You were just like my dad, almost like him. This is Penny Polendina, farewell."
With the whole thing now over, Martin turns it off and he falls to the bed and sheds tear, of the whole message and how much Penny meant to him as a daughter figure. Martin then calms down and he looks to the picture on the table.
The picture of himself and Penny and the laugh they shared after painting the face of a sleeping Victor. Martin goes over and he takes the photo and smiles tears of joy. "You will not be forgotten, you will be remembered and I will never let you're sacrifice be in…."
Martin then sees a piece of paper sticking out of the photo and he sees what it is, but what he sees shocks him. "What is this?"
The note is a blueprint to something new, for the Royal Fortress called: The Royal Battle Fortress. An idea, by Penny Polendina.
