A moment just to be there with their friends in the park and just dealing with whatever else is the aftermath of some things, while some of the members of the Royal Defenders are busy with some other changes that could work. Enjoy reading this guys.

Chapter 648: We still need to cope.

(Ketcham Park.)

Lincoln, Linka and Jordan are amongst their friends from the Royal Woods Middle School are here and spending some fun time together, as friends. Though they can see that something else is going on within their friends.

The ones sitting with Lincoln, Linka and Jordan are Clyde, Chloe, Stella and Simon, and they know something is off within this group, while the others are busy playing around and also talking about what else is to come for the month of May.

Simon. 'After what happened, they're just trying to cope with the loss of what had happened to Penny. This is a deep turmoil in their heads they need to try and calm down, but that's hard to deal with. Kinda like when Sam and Dad were super upset after I died along with mom, mourning is hard as well as moving on.'

Stella. 'Penny… She was such a nice friend, even for an android she showed so much human as any other person alive, the loss of her is like a friend gone, or a family member they may never see again. But they need to try and get over the past and look ahead for what might hold for them in the future.'

Clyde. 'From what I recall from my time with Dr. Lopez, coping with the losses and mourning from what happened is the start of some new changes, and a look into the future. We need to let them talk so they can get it off their chests. That'll make them feel better.'

Chloe. 'I went through this when my grandparents on my dad's side, and it took me a long while to get by that loss. They need to do the same and just look to what comes next, but always remember the good memories of their….'

"We can tell that you guys are trying to help us with the ordeal within our thoughts" said Linka. They look to their 4 friends. "It's easy for us to see from the rest of you guys."

Clyde sighs. "Sorry, we thought that you guys were…."

"Not wrong in trying to help us with the loss of Penny, but we're trying to get over and we're doing what we can, especially training for when we have to go back to the world of Remnant" said Jordan.

"All of us took it hard when we heard that Penny was gone." Lincoln sighs and then Jordan holds his hand. "But we're doing what we can to keep ourselves occupied, the one person who's having it harder is the one who was responsible for the resurrection of Penny Polendina."

They know who that is. "Martin McKenzie."

Linka nods. "We don't know why FutureTech has locked down the Great Gate to the Royal Fortress, and why no one else is allowed in their airspace and it ranges from Midway to the surrounding territories neighboring. We can't even send the Aegis Battlecruiser to scope out the sector, because it went dark. Not on the radar and can't be seen, which means they're using the GAP Generator."

"So, whatever they're doing there is either Martin is secluding himself within, or he might be planning something else" said Clyde.

"Whatever it is, let's hope it's nothing bad" said Chloe.

Then they hear a commotion and spot a large herd of Wooloo roaming into the Park, and then they see Liam and his family trying to rally them out. "Well, looks like Liam could use some help" said Lincoln.

"Thank goodness that they're not Mareep or Flaaffy, otherwise that would be dangerous" said Jordan.

They all go over and help rally this herd of cute sheep-Pokémon, but the issue is that there are also Dubwool with them. Oh dear.

(Spellman Hell Mansion.)

Neil and Gwen are both walking into the mansion and they pass by several service droids all doing the usual work they do being in this mansion, and then they see Leon. "Glad you guys showed up, come on. Sergei wants to meet us into the weapons storage."

Neil and Gwen follow him into the basement and they are confused. "So, what the heck are we doing here again?" asked Neil.

"Because all we got was that we're supposed to come here and we're supposed to see what Sergei has planned, but no detail on what it is" said Gwen.

They continue to go down the stairs, and so Leon speaks. "You guys recall Peter Sharps sword right?"

"Yeah, Blood Crucible, the weapon of choice he made and enhanced with the help from FutureTech and is capable of becoming something powerful" said Neil.

"Can be either a ranged weapon, a long ranged weapon, a weapon for bashing, slicing, mauling, and/or blowing shit up" replied Gwen. "What does that have to do with anything else and why we're here?"

Leon then explains more. "Now the creation of the Blood Crucible Sword was forged because of the stories from when we met Penny Polendina, she told us about her world and the weapons they use, and so Peter Sharp went with the idea of a weapon that suited him."

"Blood Crucible was born out of his design through his head and as he said, it was from a dream he had, of a weapon that was actually something from the spirit of vengeance in his head, and so FutureTech helped make it happen and now Peter Sharp has a weapon that beats outs by a long shot."

"We actually have this plan to enhance our own weapons so we can be able to make the fights less than a hardship and we did. Sergei did to his anchor and u got myself some new weapons."

Leon shows Neil and Gwen his bracelets, but these are not bracelets.

Silver Twin Turbulence.
Silver bracelets under the sleeves of Leon's jacket, they look like silver wristbands, but are nanotechnology. Can be triggered to summon dual daggers, long daggers that can be modified into dual blasters that attach to his fingers and can fire several rounds of any sort, but not sniper-based ammunition.

"Whoa. So, that does look new and pretty useful" said Gwen. She then realizes. "Oh, I see where this is going."

They go through a door and they see Sergei modifying his weapon and then he tests it and it fires a bolt of electric water orbs and destroys the dummies. "Works like a charm."

Depth Seeker.
A large and powerful anchor forged from Sea Stone metal and Bilgewater steel, and modified with some technological weaponry and empowered to fire other rounds. The anchor can spin and act as a dangerous melee weapon, and can fire its basic ammo of water balls imbued with electric shards, or dust. He can load anything with an elemental compound to fire from his anchor in crossbow mode.

Attached to Sergei through a mechanical Nano backpack and can create chains that can allow Sergei to pull the anchor or get pulled to safety and can be able to project a barrier in front of him,

Neil and Gwen are confused at what is happening. "Dude, what is this thing going on here and what are those?" Neil and Gwen see some tools on the walls, and they don't seem like the tools used for repairing guns.

Sergei puts his weapon away. "Glad you guys asked, now as you guys know, we cannot head to FutureTech and our only means of going to other worlds is through the Great Gate which is fine, but the Royal Fortress is our main base of operations for training and weapons assessment."

"So, I managed to come up with my own plan and that plan is this." He then pushes a button on the wall and large welding arms and tools along with a table in the center of the weapons room appear. "I studied the ways on how they make weapons in Remnant, and thanks to Penny from years ago."

"I also took the privilege of knowing how to manage and operate FutureTech technology and handling anything else designed from the company along with more on blacksmith work, and other good methods in creating some weapon changes, so now I am like one of those nerds at the Royal Fortress."

(Royal Fortress,)

Martin is looking at the new Command Center being established, Victor is making sure that the new Tesla generator is working and Jack Cyber is helping weld down a large cannon, but all three of them stop and look around.

Victor sneezes and looks to the others. "Umm, did someone mention us?"

(Back to the others.)

Sergei then puts on some gloves. "So, how about we get to enhance the weapons you two have?"

Neil and Gwen smile hearing this and then look towards Sergei. "Let's do this thing." Gwen shows him her bow and with her arrows as well, and Neil pulls out…. Deathwing's Mace?

They all look to Neil. "What? This is the only melee weapon in have, I do have the swarm powers and shit, but even I need a weapon and what DeathWing works with is my primary weapon."

Sergei looks to the two weapons. "Now these will do." but then they hear movement outside. "Not again, I'll be back."

Sergei uses the door that leads to the backyard and he sees something. "Hey! Get out of here!"

The two people are Mr. Grouse and Lola Loud, and they both have metal detectors and shovels and they jump over the hedges and race off, before the Droideka's could arrive.

Sergei scoffs. "Stupid old man and little girl, always coming to my…." Then he realizes. "Wait, was that Lola Loud and Mr. Grouse?"
