Here we are at Chapter 61. Now that things are getting more serious in Mantle, let's see how Megatron handles it all, among other things. I do not own RWBY or Transformers. They belong to their respective owners. Here's chapter 61. Enjoy.

Chapter 61: Bust a move(?)

Despite Winter's best wishes, Jacques Schnee's latest stunt only angered the citizens of Mantle, with him shutting down facilities in Mantle; in order to make ends meet with his business. Of course, that was easy for many to see as a lie. His words fueled fire in people's minds, and thus, riots formed in Mantle. The Atlas military responded and quelled the rioters, but the damage had already been done. People were hurt and or arrested, and some businesses that were still opened have how had to close down to repair the damages, if they're able to do that at least. On one rooftop in Mantle, Megatron watches over the city streets as Atlas soldiers and robots round up rioters into trucks and airships for processing. He narrows his eyes at the scene; all of it reminding him of when Cybertron was divided and he was still a miner that became a gladiator. He looks up when Laserbeak flies in and hold out his arm for Laserbeak to land on.

"How's it looking, Laserbeak?" Megatron asks.

"It seems the rioting has stopped. However, I'd hardly call that a good thing. The negativity in the air is growing. It's a miracle that the Grimm didn't get involved this time. Worse, this will only further the divide between Atlas and Mantle, and fuel the people's hatred for General Ironwood," Laserbeak explains.

Megatron sighs, "There must be some level of control to prevent the riots from getting worse. There's no working around that. But, I'm inclined to agree on the Grimm aspect. They didn't come this time, but with all this negativity, we'd just need one more spark to draw them in. I remember things back on Cybertron being full of scrap, but this might be just one level less than that," Megatron turns as Soundwave and Dreadwing join him, and Laserbeak hops onto Soundwave's shoulder. "If Robyn Hill wins the election, then we might be able to salvage this, but if that fool Jacques Schnee somehow wins it, then this whole kingdom will tear itself apart."

"Then what do you suggest we do?" Dreadwing asks.

"Right now, there's not much we can do. If we try something, it might just anger the people more. We also have to be careful with General Ironwood. His past actions don't exactly inspire a lot of confidence. One of the only good things about this is that Jacques' stunt here only made more of the population hate him, and more people like Robyn Hill. We need to bide our time, as bad as that sounds," Megatron says.

"...Team RWBY..." Soundwave's visor goes off.

Dreadwing nods, "Yes, if things go south, they'll be right in the middle of it. They're still our primary concern,"

"And protecting the people is THEIR primary concern. So, we'll just have to help them do so. Anyway, things down here seem to be under control for now. Let's return to Atlas and regroup with the others. Something tells me we're going to be rather busy for the next few days," Megatron looks up at Atlas.

Back at Atlas Academy, Everyone is training in the training room, improving their skills for the future. Dreadwing is trading sword blows with Jaune to improve his technique while his brother's spirit duels with Oscar, Predaking is sparring with Ren and Nora, Soundwave is fighting against Blake, Ruby is practicing her semblance with Laserbeak, and Megatron is sparring with Yang while Weiss duels with Winter with their summoning. As the practice session goes on, a pair of guests enter the room.

"Clover wasn't kidding," they all stop when they hear a voice and see Ironwood and Clover enter the room. "You guys are really working it in here, and out there as well."

The group gather in front of them, "Well, considering the current situation with the election, the tensions in Mantle, the Grimm, and other factors, we have little other choice," Dreadwing notes.

Ironwood pulls out his scroll, showing the current pole results, "I guess it could be better, but it also could be worse,"

"Well, would you rather Robyn win the election, or Jacques?" Yang notes, resting her arm on Oscar's shoulder.

"Well, I won't argue with you on that. Still, this whole election doesn't help with increasing out kingdom's stability, or maintaining what stability we have right now," Ironwood puts his scroll away.

"Well, maybe this could be a good chance to work with Robyn. If Mantle could see you and her working together towards protecting everyone, it could help Mantle see you in a better light," Weiss suggests.

"I'm... not so sure that something like that wo-," Ironwood begins.

Megatron interrupts him, "Weiss has a point, General. You and Robyn both seek to protect the people. The more allies we have on our side, the greater our chances against Salem. I tried to control everything back in my home, and tried to snuff out any who opposed me. But that did not save my home, it only destroyed it. You must open up to Robyn Hill, not close yourself off like what you did with the kingdom's borders,"

Ironwood sighs, "Maybe you have a point, Megatron, but, that will only work if Robyn is willing to work with us as well. And she's not exactly my biggest fan,"

Nora looks like she's about to protest, but Ren steps up, "Are you here to give us new mission assignments?"

"Something like that. The General and I decided to let you guys take the rest of the day to rest and recuperate," Clover says.

"You're... giving us the night off?" Blake is both surprised and confused.

"Ordering it, in fact. After tonight's election, we'll be waking up to a brand-new Atlas tomorrow. I don't know what that may bring, but whatever it does bring, I'll need you all rested and ready for when it comes," Ironwood clarifies.

While a few in the group seem happy about some time off, some are still worried about the whole situation, including Ruby and Megatron.

In their room, the former cybertronians watch the news on the upcoming election, "We still have hours ahead of us, but as votes come in, it looks more and more certain that Robyn Hill with fill the open council seat," they watch before turning the news off.

"Looks like Jacques Schnee's little stunt backfired of him. Did he really believe that lay-offs would help his position?" Dreadwing wonders with subtle anger.

"I doubt it matters. If Robyn Hill wins the election, then that should make things a little eaiser for us. The downside is she is no ally of General Ironwood, and he is in no hurry to start working with her. They both want the same thing, but he's too afraid to ask for her help. General Ironwood talks about trust, but he isn't showing it to those he should. He's trusted Penny, Winter, and the Ace Ops about the relics and Salem, and us with his plan, but that's not enough," Megatron says.

"...A night off... Rested..." Soundwave's visor goes off.

Predaking sighs, "I think Soundwave has a point. Having our heads focused only on this may have us drained the moment we need our strength the most. Perhaps we should take the General's orders to heart and recuperate. I know that Blake is doing so,"

"Hmmm... Perhaps you two have a point. I'm sure Yang will use this opportunity to rest up for the future. I can't say I'll be doing much of that, though," Megatron looks out the window.

Just then, Yang kicks the door open to their room, "Hey, guys! Megatron, come with me, now," Yang walks right up to him.

"Yang, what is the meaning of this?" Megatron asks.

"We have the night off, and Team FNKI invited Blake and I out dancing, and YOU and Predaking are coming with us!" Yang flashes a big smile.

Megatron deadpans, "And why would I agree to that? Plus, I'm not someone well known for dancing. Too busy fighting a worldwide civil war, remember?"

"Well, then consider this a perfect opportunity to learn something new. And no, you cannot and will not refuse. Now, let's go," Yang grabs his arm and starts pulling him away. "Predaking, Blake is waiting outside for you," she says as she exits the room with Megatron in tow.

Predaking peaks his head out of the room, seeing Blake waving at him, "I take it Yang already told you about the dance club. Don't worry, I won't pull you out against your will. I doubt I'd have to strength to do so anyway,"

"Do you... not want me to come," Predaking asks.

"I'm sure dance clubs aren't your thing, but I'm going because I could use something to take my mind off of the election. You don't have to come if you don't want to..." Blake blushes a bit. "But I was... hoping that you'd be willing to,"

"If you want me to come with you, then I have no objections. I would follow you anywhere, Blake. No matter the cost," Predaking says so.

But, the conviction within his words only makes Blake blush harder, "T-T-Then let's get going. Team FNKI is waiting for us," and they start walking. "Oh, by the way, Team FNKI is definitely weird, but they're not bad people. Just... try not to burn them alive, okay,"

"That's up to them," Predaking deadpans.

Meanwhile, Dreading, Soundwave, and Laserbeak watch them go, "Well, I must return to Lady Schnee's side. I shall return later," and then Dreadwing takes his leave.

With just Laserbeak with him, Soundwave knew just what to do. Time to follow Ruby around again.

Much to his chagrin, Megatron gets dragged by Yang down to the streets of Atlas to whatever dance club she found. Predaking and Blake were behind them, while Team FNKI were a few steps ahead of them. Though, the main reason they were a few steps ahead wasn't because they were going fast. They simply still remember the one-way beating that Megatron gave them a while back and don't want to be too close should they get on his bad side. They walk through the streets of Atlas, with Predaking gaining a few eyes on him due to his appearance and size. It's not every day that someone like him walks through their streets.

"Must I really do this?" Megatron deadpans.

"Yes, because your idea of relaxing is beating the Hell out of people. That's not relaxing, that's how you get locked up in jail," Yang replies with an innocent smile, though Team FNKI cringe at her words.

"That still doesn't make any sense. Besides, I do not know how to dance," Megatron argues.

"Then I'll just have to teach you then," Yang replies.

A few minutes later, the gang are all standing in front one of the bigger dance clubs in Atlas. Blinking, colorful lights are seen through the windows, and the loud music is heard even with the doors closed. Team FNKI is the first to get in, followed by Yang and Megatron. Blake and Predaking are about to walk in, but the bouncer bocks their way, giving them a scrutinizing look. However, that look changes into one of submissive fear when Predaking growls at him, with a hint of flames comes from his mouth. With that, the bouncer kindly lets them in. Predaking smiles, but Blake can only sigh and facepalm a bit at how Predaking got them in. Inside, they see the place is pretty full, with people either on the dance floor busting a move, by the bar having drinks and making conversation, or anywhere else they can chill out in the club.

"Alright, how about we hit the dance floor first before we go for the drinks?" Flynt suggests.

"Um, maybe you guys can go first. Seems pretty packed, and our big friends hear need to learn a few things first before they hit the dance floor... Otherwise, they may hit something else and then we'll get kicked out of the place," Yang says, glancing at Megatron.

"Okay, well, don't take too long. Or else we'll party on without you!" Neon says before her team hit the dance floor just as a new song comes on.

"Okay, you guys, come with us," Yang and Blake take their partners with them to a corner of the club with a few less people around.

"What is the meaning of this?" Megatron asks after being pulled along again.

"Okay, first rule, you guys CANNOT kill anyone in here for any reason, got it?" Yang tells them.

Predaking crosses his arms, "If you're so concerned about that, then why bring us along?"

"Second rule, you're going to listen to us as we teach you how to dance and have some fun," Blake adds.

"Why would we want to learn that again?" Megatron asks.

"Because it's fun. Now, I'm sure you guys have the dancing skills of an Ursa, which is why Blake and I will help you out. Now, onto the dance floor!" Yang cheers as the two girls pull their 'dates' onto the dance floor.

It was fairly easy to get people to move out of the way when they saw Predaking being pulled in. Honestly, they quickly put as much distance between them and him. This only helped the girls with their mission though.

"Alright, now just follow our lead and try to move along to the beat. Listen closely and you'll hear and feel the rhythm!" Yang has to yell over the music.

Yang and Blake start moving to the beat of the music along with those still on the dance floor willing to get near Megatron and Predaking. However, while everyone else was enjoying themselves, Megatron and Predaking we're barely moving to the beat, let alone moving in sync with it.

"Come on, you guys have to move more!" Blake yells.

"Easy for you to say. You're accustomed to this ridiculousness!" Megatron retorts.

Yang grabs his hands, "Here, try this. Just hold me close and let me take the lead," she pulls him close, making him hold her waist.

The close contact brings heat to Megatron's face, and makes him speechless. This isn't the first time he's touched Yang, or been in this close proximity to her, but it is the first time in this kind of scenario. Blake does the same thing with Predaking, and Predaking has to make sure not to accidently harm her with his claws. The male halves of the two pairs are awkward in trying to move with the ladies, much to the girls' slight amusement.

"Megatron," Yang leans in close to speak. "Think about it like this. Whenever you're fighting, you don't think about it, you just feel it. This is not that much different. Just feel it, let it flow, and move with it. Don't try to fight it," she encourages him.

Megatron decides to listen to her advice and stops thinking about it. His movements are still stiff and awkward, but slowly he starts moving to the beat while keeping his hands on Yang. Yang keeps hold of the lead to let him get used to the music. She knew that it would take more than one night out dancing to help him get used to it, but this was a start. Meanwhile, Predaking is worse off than Megatron, because he's trying to make sure he doesn't accidently step on Blake's feet. Blake pulls him along a bit, helping him to relax. Though, they're only able to relax a little bit. Eventually though, Megatron has had enough and let's go of Yang, leaving the dance floor and heading to one of the seated areas at the back of the dance club. Worried, Yang follows him while Blake and Predaking watch on. Megatron takes a seat at one section, and with a quick glare, makes anyone nearby turn tale and head anywhere else away from him.

"Megatron," Megatron looks up when he sees the worried look on Yang's face. "You alright?" she sits down next to him.

Megatron sighs, "I'm sorry, it's just... I've adapted to many things that humans do. I had to in order to live as one, since there's no guarantee that I'll ever return to my old body. Not that I was ever trying to get it back in the first place. I've learned to make peace with that. It's just, there are some parts of human culture that I will never understand. I've been a warrior for so long, fighting from one battle to the next; it's all I'll ever know. I'm trying to help save your world to atone for destroying mine, but... all I'll ever be good at is battle,"

Yang just stares at him for a moment, "That's not true," she gets him to look at her. "You're more than just a fighter. If you were simply just a fighter, then you wouldn't have needed to stick with me back in Patch. If fighting was all you had to do stop atone, then you could've just moved on from one fight to the next, never bothering to worry about anyone or help anyone. But you didn't. You helped me figure out what was important and what I had to do. You helped me stand against my mom back at Haven. You helped me and my friends get from Anima all the way to Atlas. And I'm not the only one you helped. You've helped others Megatron. More than you think. That's not someone who knows just how to fight. That's someone who knows how to be more. How to be human. And that's why I-," Yang stops herself when she realizes what she's about to say and quickly blushes.

"Yang..." Megatron doesn't know what to say, but finds his hand laying on top of hers without realizing it.

Yang finds herself leaning closer to Megatron until her lips brush against his. Megatron's eyes widen from the gesture, but he does not pull away. If anything, he finds himself feeling like he should lean closer, and slowly does. The moment is short-lived however when the music stops going, only to be replaced by emergency sirens.

"What's going on?" Yang wonders.

"Guys, I think something is happening down in Mantle!" Blake and Predaking join them in slight panic.

They race outside the dance club, only to see holo-screens pop up on the election for the council... and Jacques Schnee as the winner.

"Thank you everyone. This is all because of you. This marks a bright new day for Atlas. We did it. We won," Jacques broadcasts from his manor.

"By the Allspark... How can this be?" Megatron mutters in shock.

Just then, they get a message on their scrolls, "Riots are forming down in Mantle. And now... the Grimm are attacking again," Blake says with worry.

Megatron narrows his eyes, "Oh scrap..."

And that's the chapter. The next one will take place during the time frame of this one, but focusing on the rest of the gang instead. Megatron and Yang get closer on their night off, but the mood is ruined when Jacques somehow wins the election, and chaos erupts in Mantle once more. What happened in Mantle? How did Jacques win? Until then, please Read and Review.
