Hey! I'm back. Thank you all for your kind words and reviews on my last story. I hope you enjoy this one as well. This chapter is alittle short, but it's just to start the story. The next chapters should be longer. I hope you enjoy and continue to review, favorite, follow, and anything else.
Vader struggled down the hallway of the Death Star feeling his son's arms wrapped around his waist struggling with his weight. He looked around him as his crew and imperial troopers ran past him not noticing or caring to notice or help the once powerful Darth Vader struggling to even make it down the hallways to a shuttle.
He huffed thinking of his days as a General in the Clone Wars. Rex and all the other members of the 501th would never have left a man behind, unlike his current crew. Could he blame them thought? While Anakin treated his army with respect, Vader killed anyone who even looked at him wrong.
He looked over and saw just how much his son was struggling. He watched him stumble and as much as Vader wanted to help, he felt his life source leaving by the minute. There wasn't much time for him anymore. There wasn't much time for his son either. This place wasn't about to blow and his son couldn't be on here when that happened.
He felt the Death Star shake and he fell to the ground. He tried lifting himself, but there was no strength left in him. Every inch of his body was weak and in pain.
He felt Luke grab his arms and start to drag him to the shuttle. His vision was starting to go black and he felt his breathing slowly down. He looked up as Luke managed to get them to a shuttle. He saw Luke fall to his knees and try to catch his breathe.
He needed to leave. There was no point in having Luke risk his life to say him, but there was just one thing he had to do before he died.
"Luke." He softly said hearing the booming voice of Vader come out. He felt Luke lift him up, so they were looking face to face, well face to mask. "Help me take his mask off."
He saw the confusion on Luke's face. "But you'll die."
Oh Luke, after everything I have done and put this family through how did you manage to be so compassionate and caring. After everything I have done, you should have killed during our duel or have left me die way back there.
"Nothing can stop that now." Vader said knowing he only had probably minutes left. "Just for once...let me look on you with my own eyes."
Luke slowly nodding his head realizing what Vader already knew. He was dying. He watched Luke look at the mask trying to figure it out, before moving his hands to remove the top part of the helmet.
He watched Luke closely, looking over every feature of his face. My son. The baby Padme was so happy to have. The boy she knew she was carrying, when he thought it was a girl. Who would have guessed they were both right?
He saw how much Luke resembled his old self, before he turned and ruined everything. He also saw bits of Padme in his features. He saw Padme compassion behind his eyes and her nose. He winced thinking about his angel. Not a day goes by he doesn't think about what could have been. What they could have done? There was so much they never got to do in their short marriage and with him being away in that blasted war. He liked to imagine she would just grow more beautiful with age, but, but he would never know that because he stopped her from aging and growing old with him and their children. He ruined everything they could have had. The life they always wanted.
He heard his mask unclasp as Luke slowly removed the mask. Vader felt the air touch his scarred up face. It has been so long, since he felt real air. He opened his eyes allowing them to adjust and looked at his son with his real eyes, not through the red lenses on the mask. Oh, he's prefect. He felt tears building up in his eyes. He lost, so much time with him and Leia. He caused them both so much pain and suffering.
He knew they would never forgive him, especially Leia. He still wasn't sure how he didn't sense her when he captured and tortured her on his ship. She was the slitting imagine of Padme. Maybe that's why he hurt her more than anyone. She reminded him too much of the love her lost.
He saw Luke's eyes glance over his face trying to take in the monster behind the mask. He tried to give him a small smile, hoping his son knew just how much he loved him. How much he regretted everything.
"Now go, my son." He heard his real voice softly say. It surprised him, he couldn't remember the last time he has heard it. "Leave me."
Luke shook his head. "No. You're coming with me. I'll not leave you here. I've got to save you." Luke said.
Vader tried giving him a small laugh, but nothing came out. He tried to take a breathe, but he felt nothing. It was time and too short it truly was.
"You already have, Luke." He felt his eyes starting to flutter and hated how little time he had with both his children. He wanted more .He wanted to know them. He wanted to watch them grow up. Leia wasn't even here for him to ask for forgiveness and let her know he loved her. "You were right. You were right about me." He tried taking one finale breathe. "Tell your sister you were right."
He eyes shut and he felt his lungs burning, but it was almost peaceful. He was finally free from years of pain and suffering. He was free for his life of being a slave to everyone. Luke saved him. Luke managed to do what no one else could. He saw the good that Vader no longer knew he had in him and released it. He made the prophecy true. He killed Palpatine and Vader. His children and the galaxy could now live in peace without fear and without him.
Anakin slowly opened his eyes seeing nothing, but darkness. He felt his legs slowly moving forward, not sure where he was or what was happening. He saw a small bright light up ahead and walked to.
He heard voice around him, but they were quiet.
"Hello?" He called out trying to figure out who was there and where he was at.
"Ani." He heard the voice of his mother.
He turned around still seeing nothing.
"He is the chosen one." He heard the voice of his old Master Quin Gon, but still he couldn't see anything.
"I truly deeply love you." He heard the voice of Padme as his heart ached for her.
"Padme." He softly spoke running closer and closer to the light hoping to see something.
"Anakin. Good Luck." The voice of Ahsoka spoke out.
"You were my brother. I loved you." Obi-wan's voice said.
"No!" He heard the shouts of Leia being tortured
"No!" Followed by the shouts of Luke, when he was told of who his father truly was.
"Stop! Stop!" Anakin shouted falling to his knees and placing his hands over his ear trying to make everything stop.
"Stop! Stop now! Come back. I love you." He heard the pleading voice of Padme. The last things he heard her say before he silenced her for betraying him.
"You were the chosen one!"
"My master could never be as vile as you."
"It seems in your anger, you killed her."
"No." He softly said feeling the tears fall down his face. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. If I could take everything back, I would."
Suddenly all the voices stopped. He slowly looked up seeing a figure with long brown curly hair illuminated by the light.
"Padme." He spoke softly as the figure walked farther and farther away from him. "Padme!" He shouted jumping up running as fast he could to the light. "Padme!"
As he got closer to the light, he could no longer to the figure. As he got closer to the light, he was blinded, until he saw nothing, but darkness.
