Hello all, glad most of you enjoyed the last chapter. Though some of you didn't because it was mostly filler, while yes it can be boring, but it is equally important for story building. Also, there was a lot of you that thought the idea of 1 pawn for all of those Legendary heroes was pretty bullshit. Well frankly I see where you're coming from, but I am also exhausted explaining my reasoning. If you want to talk about your concerns you can reach me on Shiro's Gaming Omniverse. I have my own channel in that server, you can message there, and I will most certainly answer your questions or someone else there that reads my fics will answer them before I do. Also sorry about such a late update, I had a death in the family, so I lost some motivation to write for a bit.

[Extended Note:] Regarding Nero becoming a king I forgot to add the stat boost associated with that. So here is the actual perk I fixed to display his increase. I thought it was acceptable considering the King Piece he gained. Also I kind of decided to say fuck it with trying to make Nero not so overpowered, now I am just going to go with it.

King – A privilege only awarded to those who have command of a peerage of various powerful entities. This perk grants total control of those in your peerage. Each Evil Piece grows in potential with the master and has the potential to change into a Mutated Piece. This Perk gives the holder an extreme boost in their power. Grants a special skill that can be activated only once every 24 hours.

[Passively Grants 100 points to all stats]

Sitting at the head of my long table in the dining hall, a large spread of food laying all across the table. My newest servants sitting down waiting patiently, Grayfia sitting to my immediate right with a curious expression as she looks to the different people sitting at the table. A rather diverse set of people, it would make sense especially considering Herakles' massive stature makes him stick out like a sore thumb.

When I had left the dungeon, it was early morning and since I still wasn't really tired, I decided to stay awake until I could begin my lessons with Grayfia. They were… alright, sort of boring, I tried my best to divert the conversation to small talk a few times and get to know her more. Though each time she would answer me and continue with her teaching.

I guess her professionalism to her role is something that was always prevalent in her personality. It is something I can certainly respect in someone's character, but it starts to get a bit boring after a while. I didn't complain though and committed everything she told me to memory. In our breaks though I did manage to get her to open herself up to me a little.

It was nothing too crazy just general likes and dislikes and some good childhood memories. Though of the latter it was few and far between considering we both grew up in similar conditions. My own probably a bit worse but she understood what it was like to live among those that currently make up the Old Satan Faction.

After our lessons I decided to spend some time in the ID and grind away the various Hollows that littered the kingdom. They seemed to just keep coming, almost endless like how the Zombies were. I trained for the remainder of the day until a few minutes before now. Where I then proceeded to the dining hall after stating to Sebastian that I was hungry.

Farming as many of those knights as I possibly could yielded an incredible amount of xp, especially with all of my xp boosts. I even farmed some of those fat looking knights which gave double the xp of the Knights. They were a bit more challenging but after facing a few of them and learning their attack patterns they were no longer a problem.

My progress in the ID proved to be monumental, these enemies giving far more xp than everything else. I leveled my Berserker class to 40, my Assassin class to 37 granting me a large increase to my stats left me practically vibrating with power and strength. My body is now more lithe and less bulky with my large increase in DEX now balancing nicely with my STR. My body type now resembling the martial artist Bang, of course it being correctly proportioned to my height.

That being something I am glad that hasn't changed, with the physical changes that the stats present themselves to be, I can only guess is when they get to around 300 to 350. It seems my body and genes appear in their most perfect form, that being my current musculature and height are the greatest they will achieve. Though with the increase of stats doesn't mean I won't get stronger, of course my muscles and agility will improve with my stats, only my physical appearance won't change any more than I already have.

Well, it's only a theory…

A long with my general looks that change with my increase of CHA, though they are not drastic. Only making my skin healthier, removing any blemish that is seen as imperfect. My facial structure smoothening out and becoming slightly more angular. My hair softer and healthier, presenting itself as less naturally messy and straighter. Increasing my stats beyond that will probably just make my general aura and how people see me improve or produce more fear.

It could go either way really.

Before I was attractive, now I am probably fit to be a successful supermodel. All the little differences do add up making the overall change seem big. Though I am comfortable with how I look, my height being probably the tallest in the Devil Society, but it does give me an odd sense of superiority. I also like how attractive I am, I mean who wouldn't like the fact that they are handsome or beautiful.

The overall changes not extreme but definitely noticeable, something I am sure everyone has noticed but decided not to comment on.

My skills had grown in leaps and bounds as well, my Way of the Berserker reaching 34 and Way of the Assassin reaching 34. Clairvoyance reached 17, primal rage 12, stealth to 41, lethal strike to 26, smash to 17. I also gained two new skills for reaching level 30 in both classes. For Berserker I gained the skill Cleave and for Assassin I gained Chameleon.

Cleave (Active) [Level 1] – Unleashes a devastating attack that tears deep and gouges flesh from the target, for the soul purpose of ripping them in two. [Base is 5,000 and increases by 100 per level.]

Base Damage – 5,000

Cost – 1,000

Chameleon (Active) [Level 1] – Grants the user to blend into the surroundings and hide themselves from sight. [Each level improves the percentage by 1%]

Obscures user by – 1%

Cost – 750/s

Both abilities being pretty useful, Cleave just felt like a lesser version of the Lethal Strike but Chameleon is a perfect complementor for Stealth. If I max out both skills, they will pretty much make me nonexistent to everyone around me. Potentially overpowered, I could theoretically just walk up to someone and kill them, and no one would ever know it was me.

I had not gained any items from the Knights curiously enough, but it doesn't hurt me any really, I have what I need as of right now in terms of weapons. Armor as well when I get my stats high enough to use the Hollow Kings armor. I give a mental smile at my current rate of progress, though I suspect I will plateau soon enough.

I shift my gaze to Grayfia. "These fine individuals here are the first members of my peerage." I say aloud as Grayfia blinks, her gaze shifting from each person before they rest on me. Her eyes drifting to me consistently seemingly investigating the sudden changes of my appearance, she has been doing this all day ever since I had showed up for my classes.

I wouldn't doubt it was shocking to see it, but I honestly could care less.

"I am surprised that you managed to gather so many in the small amount of time you had after you obtained your Evil Pieces. Forgive me for saying this, but are you sure it is wise that you are using them so readily? Shouldn't you wait and gather individuals of great quality instead of being hasty in finding members?" She says in a polite manner, not wanting to sound like she is insulting me. I do notice that she ultimately decides to not comment on my appearance once again. I just give her a pleasant smile and a chuckle.

"Sure, you're right of course. It is certainly smart to gather a peerage of outstanding individuals, take for example this woman here. Joan of Arc, also known as Jeanne d'Arc. She is quite exemplary, a peasant girl who managed to rise to a position of leadership for the French army that led to the momentous victory at Orleans a few years ago. This victory repulsed an English attempt to conquer France. All this she believed to be under the divine guidance of her lord, of course meaning the big man upstairs. Do you know what she got in return for such a great deed?" I ask as Grayfia's as she raises an eyebrow, silence ensues for a moment as I continue.

"She was sentenced to burn at the stake… All because she was seen as a heretic for impersonating a man. Ah humans are such pitiful creatures, killing such a righteous woman for something so little and to add to her dismay none of her prayers were answered. She was all but doomed to her fate." I say shaking my head in disappointment as I take a bite of my foot. Grayfia's eyes widen at the prospect before they flicker to Joan, her expression one of restrained anger.

"If she was to burn then I assumed you had saved her considering she sits here before me as healthy as can be." She asked as I swallow my food and answer her question with a small smile.

"Well, I just walked into the prison and pulled her out. End of story, of course I didn't leave everything alone. I saw fit to punish them…" I say nonchalantly as I continue to eat, out of the corner of my eyes I see that the other members of my peerage had begun eating while silently listening in. Grayfia's eyes narrowed a margin in my direction as I said that last bit.

"How so… I trust you didn't do anything to drastic Lord Aemon." She says slowly as I consider her words thinking on how I should respond. Placing my fork down diligently, my napkin brushing against my lips before turning to her, a slightly feral tone appearing in my eyes.

"Nothing too crazy. I only sunk the castle and most of the surrounding buildings into the ground destroying it all. Now before you say anything, yes I remember what the Satan Leviathan had said to me about our interactions with the humans. But don't worry, at most they will see it as either a natural disaster, sink holes are a thing by the way. Or they will see it as divine intervention, punishment for their actions against a most holy woman." I respond with a chuckle at the last part, considering she is now most definitely the very definition of what would be described as unholy.

Grayfia loses the gathering tension as she relaxes, her worry that I may have started something akin to a war dissipating in her chest. Though a curious look adorns her face as she responds to my explanation.

"At least you didn't draw unnecessary attention, while bringing down a castle is quite the attention grabber it is plausible that it is what you think it is. The Angels will know divine intervention was not the case, but they can't prove that it wasn't a sink hole that happened. Humans on the other hand will believe whatever they believe. On another note, I must ask, how did you bring it down in such a manner? Surely you used your families inherited ability, but from what I know about it, using that as a method is simply unreasonable." She says shifting forward giving me her undivided attention, hoping to learn more about my abilities and strengths no doubt.

"Well, I can't just tell you all my dirty little secrets on the first date, now can I?" I say giving her a teasing smirk as I see a blush bloom across her face. Though it only takes her a few seconds to calm herself down with the clearing of her throat before starting to eat her meal.

A comfortable silence ensues before Grayfia's eyes light up in interest as she looks to the other group of individuals. I mentally sigh as I already see the question spiraling through her mind before she asks it. Taking a sip of some wine to wash down my food before she asks her question.

"I was wondering, since you have already stated Joan's accomplishments. Would you be kind enough to introduce me to these gentlemen here?" She asks as I think for a moment. This is the question I had expected, though I need to tread carefully on how I should answer. It wouldn't be a great idea to divulge that I can summon great heroes of the past to the present. Maybe when she is completely and utterly mine, only then will it be an okay idea but still not that appealing.

The less information out there about my powers and the gamer system the better. The only thing I am willing to divulge would be the ID, but even then, that will be a closely guarded secret. The only ones I would tell would be those close to me and my peerage, but even when I do it will be vague.

I look at her while I hum in thought before answering. "Well how about this… I will let you choose one out of the four and give you one piece of information and if you guess correctly on their identity, I will tell you about them all. Deal?" I say giving her an amused look as she nibbles on her lip in thought as she looks at them.

"Hmm… I choose… That one." She says pointing to the behemoth of a man Herakles as I chuckle at her choice. Of course, she would go for the one that is most eye catching.

"Very well. The piece of information I will give you is this… He is quite legendary and well known for his incredible strength. I will only allow one answer, but I will let you decide on when you give it. No need to rush take your time and consider your options." I said with a smug smile knowing she would never get the answer, if she had guessed it correctly, I would be highly suspicious. Considering he was born far before the creation of the evil pieces, in this world reincarnating him with the evil pieces is an impossibility.

Well unless you are me that is…

Perhaps there may be other methods of revival, but none that I know of really. The closest thing I could imagine would be individuals born with the spirit of heroes. I may even be able to learn true resurrection magic if I take on necromancy as a class, but for the rest of this world I am not too sure. Shifting my thoughts to the back of my head as I turn my attention back to Grayfia, her eyebrows tightened in thought.

"Very well I will take you up on your offer and think about my answer." She says as she resumes eating. The rest of the time is spent in silence though soon enough I finish my meal with a full stomach and excuse myself. The rest of those at the table also take their leave only before I make a small announcement to my peerage.

"I expect you all to meet me in the morning at sunrise, we shall begin your training in earnest. On that note you all are free to do as you wish until then, though I suggest you get good rest tomorrow will be a tiring day." I say to them as they nod and leave to their own devices. I turn to a waiting Grayfia who looks to be waiting to speak to me before she returns to her quarters for the night.

Approaching her as she looks at me. "What can I do for you Grayfia?" I ask in a pleasant tone, her question clearly bugging her as she unconsciously fidgets.

"I am curious about your recent change in appearance, I mean it happened practically overnight… I have never seen a change in appearance so abrupt before, tell me what happened, I hope it isn't a bad thing?" She asks with a slightly worried edge to her tone. I raise an eyebrow for a moment as I think about an answer.

"Hmm… If I tell you do you promise not to mention it to anyone? I am willing to place my trust in you, but you must keep it to yourself." I say in a low tone indicating how serious it is. Her eyes widen as she thinks for a moment before nodding resolutely.

"Of course, you have my word." She says suddenly turning serious as I give her a sigh.

"As you know I was born sickly but if I told you that only a short while ago had I actually gotten rid of my condition. As a result, my body has seemingly accelerated in growth over the course of days and it continues to do so. As far as I know it isn't negative, and I only seem to be getting stronger. Like my body is playing catchup, I looked and haven't found anything that documented this, but I don't think it is a problem myself." I say speaking in half truths, of course I wasn't going to tell her about the system, but this will probably reduce her concerns on the matter and perhaps reduce the attention on future changes I may or may not have.

Her shoulders relax slightly as she hears my words, but I can still see worry in her eyes, though a small smile forms on her face.

"I am glad that it isn't apparently bad, but I could have Ajuka take a look and see if it truly isn't something dangerous." She asks as if insisting I take the help; I think for a moment at the implications of such an event taking place.

I can see a few potential pros of me seeing Ajuka, one would be a chance to establish a close connection with the genius himself. I could be to find out some information on the Evil Pieces, perhaps if I am lucky, I could find something on how to replicate them. That would be a long con though I am sure, I just don't feel that it would be just that easy to get that information. The last thing I can think of would be that fact that my potential for growth is through the roof and I am constantly getting stronger.

This can do one of two things, I can either increase my value as a devil in their eyes making them want to keep me involved with their faction. This could also increase my standing among the populace, stronger devils are generally well received in our society. It would be a great start to my rise to popularity.

The other however would in turn make them warry of my potential and fear what I could become in the future. They then would probably want to get rid of me before I become a problem, how they decide either of these options would be based on my personality I would assume. If I showed to have a volatile general attitude this could spark the less appealing outcome.

But if I give a good impression and show that I am agreeable, this will result in the most desirable route. If I make myself look desirable to the Satan's at least, I think I made a good first impression with Serafall, so I just need to do the same with the rest. Sirzechs may be a little difficult since I am borderline stealing his woman, but I can manage with the rest, I think.

The cons on the other hand if we already include the other if I am not well received, I would be turned into a specimen for a bit I am sure. Something I don't think I would be too keen on experiencing, but I am willing to sacrifice. A worst case scenario would possibly be that he finds out something with the gamer, but I really don't think it's a possibility. I am sure the system is quite thorough in hiding itself.

Considering these it is risky, but it also may help me towards my goal. Mentally sighing as I look Grayfia in the eyes and respond.

"Okay… if you think it is a good idea, I will do it. Though I am counting on you to keep this on the down low, it wouldn't be good if this blew out of proportion. I am trusting you Grayfia…" I say laying it on thick, I knew it wouldn't stay contained for long but really, I am counting on the fact that it doesn't. It's a win, win. I have the potential to gain popularity and then when she ultimately "breaks" her promise she will feel she should make it up to me.

[10 Affection gained for Grayfia Lucifuge: For trusting her with something important.]

"Thank you. Lord Aemon. We can't be too sure whether or not that what your experiences could have some potential drawbacks. You won't regret this; I am sure of it." She says with a small bow. I just give her a perfect uncertain look before sighing.

"If you say so… And please just call me Nero, surely we are good enough friends to go by our names?" I say as a pleasant smile graces her face before she nods.

"Of course, Nero. I will go and see Ajuka now and set up an appointment, when I get back, I will notify you of a time." She says before we exchange goodbyes and Grayfia teleports away.

I stand alone in my dining hall in silence for a moment, thinking about my next steps. Katerea should arrive tomorrow or the next day, it would be good to see her once again. Not to mention when she gets here, she will no doubt be in the baby making mood. Not that I can complain of course, we will also have to get married as well.

I wonder if this may impede on my progress with the budding relationship between Grayfia and I. Or even any future relationships I will have, it may be good to talk to her about it when she gets here.

You know the saying, "Happy wife happy life."? I am sure it still applies, even in the late medieval period. Where women were notoriously badly treated, I still firmly believe that my significant others are equal to myself. Unless they take pleasure and happiness in being treated roughly, I could accommodate in the bedroom where it is perfectly acceptable. But outside of that they will be treated well.

All that aside when Katerea gets here I will need to introduce her to Grayfia and have her go over the details of the Old Satan Faction. If I gain enough standing, I could persuade the New Satan's to eliminate them. Perhaps even join them in the efforts, earn a pseudo military recommendation to increase my standing and up the chances of increasing my rank later down the line.

The only thing I can see that would be tough is actually getting the Satan's to agree to wiping them out. Especially with the current devil populace at an all time low, and we are still recovering from the war and the civil war. Even taking account of how hard it is with the low fertility rates among devils, some even taking hundreds of years to conceive a child.

If I manage to provide an easier almost guaranteed chance of pregnancy it will make it that much easier. The only conceivable way of getting this done would be to take on the alchemy class. I am pretty close to being able to select a new class anyways, when I do it also may take some time to produce fertility potions.

But this is a good start.

I could go back in the dungeon tonight but honestly? I kind of want a small break and just look around, maybe fuck around a bit in the human world. Steal a king's crown, tempt a princess or maybe even a queen. I mean I am a Devil, might as well act like one for a night.

Now where do I even go?

Maybe somewhere in England, doesn't seem like it would be a good idea to go to France after my last outing over there in Beaurevoir Castle. Maybe the biggest city in England at this time, London?

Why not…

Creating an image in my mind and pushing forth my will and desire to teleport, a wispy black magic circle forms underneath my feet. Less than a second later my vision shift, my dining hall is replaced with a dark alley way. A dank smell filling my nose as my gaze shifts to the various pieces of garbage and waste. Disgust fills my mind as I take it all in, the street not looking much different.

Man, this place is a real shithole in the mid fifteenth century, unless I teleported directly in the heart of the slums. Sighing and straightening my suit I begin to walk towards the street. Entering the street as I weave through the citizens in rags looking at me in bewilderment, some trading harsh whispers. I however just keep walking with a small smile on my face mostly ignoring the dirtied faces of those staring.

I walk for maybe a half hour before the living conditions get noticeably better, and the citizens are less emaciated and dirty. Though they still stare, considering I am dressed in a very expensive material, appearing to be in a pinnacle of health and last but not least very clean.

Coming up to a what looks like a local marketplace, I spot a small form in tattered rags walk slowly up to a produce stand before taking an apple in each hand and darting off. The man selling the items shouts as the figure runs, two nearby guards give chase following into an alleyway.

Giving a curious eye before following swiftly, my interest has certainly been peaked. Approaching and tilting my head around the corner, the sight of the two guards kicking the thief repeatedly. Narrowing my eyes as I walk towards them, my hard footsteps drawing their attention.

"What do you want? Move along before someone gets hurt…" A guard says with a sneer waving me off as my swift walk doesn't falter for a moment at his words. I give them a small smile as I stop a few feet from them before answering.

"Now I was thinking the same thing. I will give you one chance, one opportunity to leave now or I will kill you both where you stand." I say letting out a slightly dark undertone. Though only hysterical laughs follow as both guards bellow at my declaration.

"I'll take that as a no then, *sigh… too bad." I say activating absolute dominion and taking ahold of the both of them. There laughter ceasing immediately as their bodies freeze, their limbs disobeying their commands as they put up futile resistance. Quickly crushing their throats to avoid any screaming to draw needless attention.

Their faces forming visages of pained horror as the sounds of bones snapping fill my ears. Their bodies contorting and crushing into a mass of flesh, with a small mental flex they crush into a perfect orb of flesh, blood and metal. With a nonchalant flick the mass shoots to the other end of the alleyway into a pile of nearby garbage.

Peering down at the small form in tattered cloth my eyes widen when I see the face of a small girl. Probably around the age of five or six, it is hard to tell underneath all of the blood and grime. Pained and labored breaths coming out of her mouth as she looks up at me with tears in her eyes. Crouching down as I help her sit upright.

"Are you alright?" I ask in the friendliest tone I can muster, though attempting to come off friendly may be an impossibility if my recent show of power was anything to go by. She doesn't give an answer but there is a fear that I can see forming in her eyes.

"Could you tell me your name?" I ask but I still only get silence, I frown slightly as I take in her appearance once more. Could it be that she just doesn't understand me very well? I cast observe to see if I can learn anything.

My eyes widen as I read her title, what are the odds of me finding the Incarnation of Merlin. Since I can't remember ever hearing about her appearance, I would bet that she died here if her rapidly declining health was anything to go on. She doesn't have a name either, so no one must have claimed her at birth if to this day she wasn't named. She must have led a hard life till now.

Pulling a bishop piece from my inventory and holding it out in front of her.

"Your hurt really bad, but I can save you with this. Just nod if you want it." I ask holding out the piece. Of course, I wasn't going to let this opportunity slip through my fingers, if she died, I was going to revive her anyway.

I wait for a moment before she give a pained nod, a smile graces my face at her agreement. Releasing the piece, our eyes drifting to the floating Bishop as it moves to her chest and fazes through her skin. Her eyes close as sleep takes her. Using observe on her again I immediately notice her health beginning to rise, no longer on the descent.

Well due to this recent addition I can't really explore London, since I should tend to her. Kind of sucks really, I was only here for 30 minutes and I just so happened to meet the incarnation of Merlin. This is no doubt because of my luck based perk, increasing the overall probability of chance encounters.

At least we have proof that it works…

Though I do wish I can control the frequency, but that would just be along the lines of controlling fate itself. Something I don't think I should delve into, I don't get a very good feeling from that thought. I reach down and gently pick her up before teleporting us back to my room.

"Sebastian." I speak aloud as the man appears bowing as usual.

"What can I do for you Lord Aemon?" He asks as I rest the little girl down onto my bed.

"Make sure her needs are taken care of, I suspect she doesn't know how to speak, read or write very well. So, take that in mind when you interact with her. Oh, and Sebastian, I would like for you to take part in the training sessions with my peerage. I need you to grow stronger as well, we can't have you stagnate in your growth." I say as he nods in acceptance to my orders.

I trust Sebastian more than anyone with the knowledge of my ability to create the IDs, he needs to get stronger as well. I seem to be outpacing him in strength, considering he is a legendary servant that I purchased with the few points I had. My line of thought regarding this is I need to get my points worth.

Yes, he is an incredible servant, that can seemingly do whatever task I give him. Though if I am to climb in strength at the rapid rate that I am, it may draw the attention of other strong individuals. Some perhaps with good intent, others however may want to get at me. So, I am going to need strong people around me, no weak links in the chain as one would say.

"Of course, Lord Aemon." He says as I move to the other end of the room to the lounge area. Sitting down and pouring myself a glass of what would be known as Whiskey, around 60 years from now I would say. Picking up the glass and taking a sip before as I stare into the currently lit fireplace.

Judging from my memories it seems that the Devil society has always been more advanced than humans. Being that Devils have a great longevity comparatively and also the existence of those like Ajuka it makes sense. Even with the regular presence of magic helps leaves and bounds with societal progression.

With these facts in mind potentially inventing and introducing new things into the devil society would be easy. I could think of several things that could be invented that aren't yet a thing. This will increase my reputation along with the added bonus of earning money. I wonder if I can convert whatever currency I earn into credits?

Drinking the rest of the contents of the glass before I place back down onto the side table, getting up I move to my drawer. Opening and rustling through it for a moment I find a leather pouch. Opening it as I pull out the contents, various gold coins fill my palm. This is just some play around money my parents had given me periodically as an allowance of sorts, considering I didn't have much time to 'play around' I never spent any of it.

Dropping a coin into my inventory a window pops up.

[Would you like to convert this gold coin to credits. Y/N?]

"Huh…" I mumble out as I look at the screen.

I am actually glad it doesn't automatically convert it to credits, since I am sure that the credits themselves can't actually provide any worth. I am more curious to how much a single coin is worth in credits. I mentally select yes as another window appears.

[1 gold coin converted to 500 credits.]

Wow. That is a lot more than I expected, I can't really tell how it would calculate the conversion. But I won't complain. Dumping the rest of the pouches contents into my inventory and accepting the conversion. A new window displaying the current conversion.

[49 gold coins converted to 25,000 credits.]

"I am surprised just that many converts to so many credits." I wonder if I could convert the entirety of my family's treasure vault into credits, or at least just the actual currency portion. Since I am sure that there is far more in there along the lines of family heirlooms and treasure than just gold coins.

Now where is it again?

I search my memories for anything that would indicate its whereabouts, but nothing comes to mind. I simply had never been there and wasn't told, though surely Sebastian knows. Turning to the man in question as he goes about completing my previous order.

"Sebastian, could you tell me where my family vault is, I would like to take a look inside to see what I am dealing with." I said as gaining his attention.

"It resides bellow the castle, Lord Aemon. The entrance is behind the portrait displaying the original Aemon. If you remove it and inject your demonic power, it should open." He says before moving back to the child.

How the fuck would he know that? It is clearly a secret if it is hidden in such a way. I decide not to stew over the fact and leave the room. The only place I truly know of that displays a portrait of my ancestor. More specifically a room that functions exclusively to portray the entire line of the Aemon Clan.

Traversing the halls for a few minutes before pushing through a set of heavy wooden double doors. The inside displaying several portraits, many I recognize and others I don't. Though I do see my own portrait, however it looks to be new, no longer displaying my sickly self and now appearing as my new healthy self. It seems that Sebastian updated it, though I don't remember him taking me aside to have it painted.

My eyes drift to the picture of Aemon himself, his likeness actually quite similar to myself. Or should I say I look quite like him; the piercing red eyes seems to be a trait in our family along with the black hair. I could even pass as a twin if I changed my hair style a bit.

Walking up to the painting and removing it before placing it onto the ground gently. Only a regular stone wall replacing the painting, trusting Sebastian's words I place my hand on the cold stone. Pushing my mana into it an audible click sounds as the stone wall pushes inwards acting as a door.

Peering inside I see a dimly lit stairwell, entering and descending the seemingly endless stairs it finally opens into a large room with giant metal doors. Easily 30 feet tall and 50 feet wide, intricate carvings covering most of the dark metal. However, this door has a lack of handles it seems, perhaps I need to just push it open?

Placing my hands on either door and giving it a firm push, though a surprised expression quickly forms on my face. Clenching my teeth and pushing harder with a grunt, it moves only very slightly before stopping once again. Taking a moment to collect myself and plant my feet on the stone floor, activating my primal rage skill. The feeling of pure power entering my body as my muscles ripple and flex.

With a guttural shout I push the entirety of my strength into the doors. The creaking of the metal and grinding of stone fills my ears as the behemoth doors open slowly but surely. I Stop my struggle when I see a space large enough for me to fit through, deactivating my skill as I drop my arms, stumbling for a moment in exhaustion. Though energy quickly refills my exhausted body as I straighten with a few quick breaths.

"Fuck… That door is heavy…" I breath out as I peer inside the treasury, my eyes only see inky blackness. As soon as my foot crosses the threshold, the darkness lights up as several torches lit with blazing gold fire illuminate the room. A stunned expression forms on my face as I take in my family's treasury.

Mountains of different chests filled with objects of pure gold, jewels and other valuable items. Some chests look to be made of old wood, others out of precious metals. After taking those in I peer around the mound in the center of the room where various objects lay on pedestals or display cases.

I am mostly surprised at just how wealthy my family is, not something I expected really. But I guess it makes sense since my parents were able to afford to buy an extreme number of Phenex Tears to attempt to cure me without much thought.

Though most I don't recognize as anything outstandingly special, sure there are a few artifacts that are surely priceless. But nothing that is of obvious use to me at the moment, perhaps they have magical properties? With a few observes and a huff, I realize they don't actually have any magical properties at all. Doesn't really make any sense, I mean sure this vault is full of extremely valuable items.

However, I just don't buy it.

Closing my eyes, I increase the range of my senses, focusing on everything. An ache fills my head from the overload, but I notice the pain not nearly as bad as it was before. Probably from repeated use making me get use to the effects.

Feeling around the room I don't notice anything in particular, however if I feel outside, I notice a small hidden room on the other side of the wall. Inside looks to hold a few objects, reigning in my senses before moving to the wall inspecting it for any irregularities. Not seeing any I rest my hand roughly in the center of where it should be and similarly inject my demonic energy inside.

Click*

I smile as I watch the wall push inwards and slide sideways revealing the room I had sensed. Walking inside I see three items displayed on pedestals and a sword hung overhead on the wall, on the pedestals I see a tome, a mask and a ring. I cast observe on all of the items.

The Book of Lucifer – An old book made of aged black leather; the pages thoroughly aged but still legible. This tome held the many secrets associated with how the first generation Lucifer and Lilith gave birth to devils. As well as why Lilith now remains in her current state. It also contains the many other secrets and experiments conducted by Rizevim and Hades. This tome was stolen from Hades the God of Death and Ruler of the Realm of the Dead by Adrias Aemon as an act of revenge in hopes to find something that would heal his son Nero Aemon from his affliction.

Mask of Madness – Appearing as a half white, half black blank mask lacking eye wholes. The creator of this mask is unknown, but it is thought that it holds all of its previous owners' hatred, malice and insanity. To which it only grows with each new owner, how many it's had until now is unknown. Those that look at those who wear it experience a moment of its insanity instilling a deep sense of crippling fear. Those with weak minds and wills will succumb to Madness and leave their minds forever broken. Those with stronger minds and wills can resist but still gain a deep sense of fear, one they will never forget. The wearer however doesn't escape the effect of the mask. When worn by a new owner the mask binds itself to them permanently until they die, the weaker the will of the wearer the quicker they themselves descend to madness. This item can't be truly destroyed, it will crack and break but in time it will restore itself using the wielders mana.

Ring of the Aemon Clan – Symbolizing the wearer as the Patriarch and Lord of the Aemon clan. Created by the original Aemon, using a special metal heavily imbued with his Demonic energy. An enchantment preventing anyone not belonging to the Aemon Clan from wearing it.

[Passively increases the Effectiveness and Damage of Aemon Clan Powers by a multiple of 2.]

Gram – The most powerful demonic sword in existence, strong enough to be known as the Demonic Emperor Sword. Capable of releasing enough destructive power to surpass Durandal and imbued with a stronger dragon slayer attribute than Ascalon. However, with the great strength of this weapon, an equally strong flaw is tied to the weapon. When someone uses this weapon their life force is sapped until they die.

Damage – 20,000

Damage to Dragons – x4

Drains – 5,000 HP/s

My eyes widen at the descriptions of all the items in this room, each and every one had an unbelievable usefulness associated that I could and intended to fully exploit. The Book of Lucifer is quite useful, but I am curious about the little section in the description about my father and revenge. Perhaps if I read through it, I could find out a bit about that story. Picking up the book before placing it in my inventory for me to read later.

Quest Received: I am What?

Object: Find the truth behind your birth.

Reward: ?, ?, 1,000,000 xp, 1,000,000 credits.

I raise an eyebrow as I stare at the window, contemplating what I should think about it. This quest had obviously queued up because I gained possession of the Book of Lucifer. I will have to read it soon; I can't lie and say I am not curious about it myself. I shake the thought as I continue with the items.

The mask of madness is nothing short of incredible if I pair it with my assassin class, to push such a debilitating effect on anyone around me is intriguing to say the least. Though I am a little concerned about its effect, I can feel a sense of building discomfort as I look at it but considering it is a form of mental attack, my gamers mind should negate it completely.

Picking up the mask I look at it for a moment as I mentally debate whether or not to put it on.

"Fuck it…" I say shrugging as I place it on my face, the porcelain like material sticking to my face immediately upon contact with my skin. Blackness enters my vision as the sudden feeling of the mask liquidating and wrapping around my face and head. A crippling feeling of fear and madness invades my conscious making me stumble and grab my head. Taking only a moment I make it submit to my will, crushing it downwards and throwing the feeling away to the recesses of my mind.

The blackness fades as sight returns to me, however the feeling of the mask remains. I bring my hand up and touch the cold material morphing over my face, realizing that there still aren't any holes for the eyes. But I can see perfectly clearly, as if the mask wasn't there in the first place. I take a breath and will the mask to disappear, as if obeying the given command, the mask turns to dust and fades away.

Though even with the mask physically gone, I can still feel it. As if it is waiting in anticipation to be summoned once again. Pushing the thought of the mask bearing potential sentience away and turning to the remainder of my newfound items.

My family ring is an impeccable find, something I would have thought my father would have had with him. Perhaps he knew he would die in their latest conflict with the Old Satan Faction and placed it here for me? Well, no use in overthinking it, all that matters is that I have it now. I pick the ring up and place it on my finger. The familiar chill filling my body as I relish in the growth of my Decay abilities.

Gram on the other hand is an incredible piece, how my family could have possibly got their hands on this I would never know. It goes well with my Berserker Class; however, its side effect is pretty deadly. I can't quite tank it yet, but I would say in about another 300 VIT I could negate the effects. That's a long road but it will be worth it in the end, I grab the sword and throw it in my inventory.

Taking one last look around the room making sure I didn't forget anything before I turn and retreat back to the main treasury. The mountains of gold and jewels fill my vision once again as I think on how I should go about this. I don't want to take everything, since I don't think I can convert credits back to gold and I may need to use it in the future for other dealings.

I guess I could just take half of the coins here and leave the rest for later use, at least just to get some spending money and maybe purchase a few more perks. I may even look to other things I can use that would directly boost my power. Using Absolute Dominion, I delicately pull all of the gold coins in the room to a ball in the air, with a thought I separate the ball in half before opening my inventory and floating the coins through.

Once the half is all in my inventory, I ignore the window as I set the remaining gold coins back into their chests. Sighing as I turn back to the window asking if I wanted to accept the conversion. Mentally selecting yes as a new window pops up making my eyes widen.

[90,937 gold coins converted to 30,468,500 credits.]

"Shit…" I mumble as I take in my new balance. Now I have enough to get a few more perks, well one or two really good ones. Looking around the room and making another pass as I make sure I didn't forget anything. Nodding my head, I exit, crossing the threshold of the vault doors I hear it start to automatically close.

"Well, that's pretty neat, saves me a lot of time too." I say as I continue up the stairs. Exiting the entrance as that to closes behind me before I reset the picture of my ancestor. I take a moment to shadow travel into my room, seeing the now clean and dressed girl I picked up earlier resting in my bed.

With a sigh I plop myself onto the edge as I bring up the store and search through the various perks. Most not really piquing my interest, but I do see some.

Herculean Body – Born with the legendary body of a demigod, bearing an unnatural strength and vitality. Doubles STR and VIT stat gains.

Cost – 15,000,000 credits.

Water Breathing – Grants the user the ability to breath normally while in water.

Cost – 500,000 credits

Not really sure how I overlooked this one in my initial look through in the store. This could have solved my VIT problem in the beginning, though I do wonder if the servant I recently purchased Herakles would have this perk. It would only make sense; I will have to keep an eye out for his growth in the future when we start our training.

Also, the other perk there would be incredibly beneficial when I inevitably venture to the water based dungeon. Since I could most certainly expect a sort of water world like terrain, breathing underwater would be a boon.

This also just solidifies how inaccurate observe can be, it only displays stats in their core form and not telling me the strengths they have behind that in the form of perks and skills. It just makes me want to feel more wary when in the presence of the true monsters of this universe.

Anyways back to the perk, I am curious if it will double all of the gains I had obtained to this point or will it only start after the fact. I am okay with either one really. It would just suck to lose out on all those potential stat points. Selecting the perks and purchasing them, a moment of pain streaks in what seems like every cell of my body, my lungs tingle and ich. Clenching my jaw as I wait it out for a few minutes.

A bead of sweat runs down the side of my face as I feel the pain subside and release a breath, I didn't know I was holding. Though I immediately notice how much easier it feels when breathing interestingly enough. Like I can almost feel more oxygen entering my lungs. I take a few seconds to collect myself as I test my body with a few arm rotations and muscle flexes as well as get used to the new feelings. Other than my lungs, it doesn't seem like much changed.

"Status."

Disappointingly it turns out it won't just give me the extra stats straight out of the bat. Other than that, it does seem like my stats are coming along nicely. Alright with that out of the way I'll take a look through the store once again, since I still have some more spending money.

I think that is good enough for perks as of now, maybe I could serf the store and look for a few skills? Would probably be a good idea to get a skill for the manipulation of each element. Pulling up the general store and searching for the skills.

These are the only ones I found, I also felt I should get the resistance for each one. In the event I encounter an enemy that wields those power types it would be beneficial to have the proper resistances, as well as reduce the physical harm I could potential do to myself with those skills. It would be embarrassing to hurt myself with my own powers.

Gaining light resistance is also something I should absolutely gain, considering my races inherent weakness to the element it would be wise to have it. I am mostly curious of how far the resistances will go; will it turn to complete immunity? Judging by its current values it will reach 50% negation at level 100, but when it Upgrades it would probably reach higher.

Adding all of the skills to my cart and purchasing them, a slight tingle covers over the surface area of my skin. Indicating the resistance applied to my body. Closing out of the shop I stand with a sigh as I stretch my body before smoothing out my suit. I am not really in the mood for surfing through the store any more tonight.

I feel I have spent enough credits for one day.

I would like to go in the dungeon tonight and level my new skills, but I did say I would take a break. But since I don't need sleep anymore, I don't really know what I should do till morning. Scrunching my face in thought as I move to the window and look outside. The brightness of the full moon casts its light over the land as I take it in, a thought enters my mind as I look at the moon curiously. The full moon, something about it makes me feel like I am forgetting something.

"…"

"The Familiar forest!" I think with eyes widened in realization. Getting a familiar this soon would be great; in fact, I am curious myself which one I will get. From my knowledge, there are many different types of beasts residing there. Some namely are the Dragon Kings themselves, though they don't reveal themselves too often.

Looking back to the bed, I see that the child still sleeping soundly. Showing no sign of waking any time soon, nodding resolutely as I visualize the forest. A magic circle forming under my feet as I flash away.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The visage of my room is replaced with a dark forest, thick with vegetation. Looking around I don't see anything in particular, but my heightened senses telling me there are quite a few things around me. Most small critters or rodents, though their appearances are vastly different than those most humans would recognize. One would attribute them to being alien in nature or a new species altogether in the human world.

But it is expected considering the purpose of this specific piece of land, let alone we are in the underworld, a place where the things that go bump in the night and magic are commonplace. My musings are broken when something appears within the range of my senses, no sound originated from its arrival, neither did any magical signature appear from a teleportation. Humanoid from what I can tell, but I give no outward reaction of knowing they are here. Though the manner of which they approached me is slightly unnerving, if I didn't have Absolute Dominion, I would have never known they were here.

"Hmm…? May I ask what it is you are doing here?" An aged masculine voice sounds with a slightly curious tone. Turning around I am graced with an elderly looking man in a tunic, his hands clasped behind his back as I take in his appearance for a moment.

The old man is around 5 and a half feet tall, grey, white hair that stands up on his head. A Fu Manchu mustache with thick grey, white eyebrows. His black eyes peer at me curiously as I seemingly size him up. Though I do notice a peculiar sign hanging onto his chest saying, "A Kill A Day". I just shrug my shoulders as I give him an answer.

"Why does one ever come here? To obtain a familiar of course…" I say in a neutral tone as the man's mouth quirks up into an amused smile. A chuckle escapes his mouth at my answer.

"I suppose you are correct; may I ask your name young man?" He asks moving closer to me, the disparity of our heights clearly evident. But the old man shows no outward sign of being intimidated.

"My name is Nero Aemon, Lord of the Aemon clan care to share yours?" I ask making the man raise an eyebrow.

"Oh? A member of the 72 Pillars? It's been some time since I have met one of you. My name is Zeno Zoldyck, Lord of the Zoldyck clan who guards the Familiar forest. Keeping the beasts from getting out and terrorizing the underworld. As well as keeping others from getting in uninvited, we also take jobs as a mercenary family, no job is off limits. For the right price of course." He says chuckling as I nod taking note of the potential resource should I ever need it. Though I don't remember ever hearing anything about this man or his family. More importantly I have never heard of the Zoldyck's, perhaps this universe is not exactly the same as the one I am familiar with?

"You talk as if your family isn't a part of the 72 Pillars, are you perhaps a neutral party? A family of devils not affiliated with anyone in particular... You are a devil, right?" I ask peering down at him with curiosity, Zeno responds with a swift nod.

"That's right, my family has been neutral ever since its creation. We mostly just take care of the forest and do the odd job every now and then. Now, I suppose you would like to go and obtain a familiar? I am willing to give you this one chance for free, however in the future you must pay a substantial sum to gain access. Whatever it is you give doesn't matter, as long as it is of value, we will take it as payment." He says amicably as I raise an eyebrow in thought. I didn't know I had to pay an admission fee to get into the forest, thankfully he is willing to give me a break just this once.

"You have my thanks, Lord Zoldyck." I say with a slight bow making the old man scoff.

"Oh, please I would prefer if you just called me Zeno, I am not one for formalities. Now shall we head off? I know a few good areas that usually house strong familiars." He says walking off deeper into the forest, gesturing for me to follow. I walk alongside him in silence, making sure to always keep my senses on him.

Something tells me I shouldn't underestimate this old man. In fact, now would be a good time to check out his stats. "Observe."

Damn this guy is no joke…

I wonder what kind of abilities his family is known for; he seems nice enough but it would be good to know in the event I find myself on the receiving end of his ire. We walk in continued silence passing a few different beasts, all too skittish and weak to draw my attention. Zeno breaks the silence as we walk.

"Anything you looking for in particular? Most go for the big ones, like Dragon Kings, Hydra's or Griffin's. Though the Dragons don't really show themselves too often, I myself have only encountered them on a few different occasions. They are even more difficult to tame, stubborn creatures they are. Its better if you find them as infants." He says chuckling as I think about looking for anything in particular.

"Hmm… Something strong for sure, easy to control and most of all useful." I answer making Zeno hum in thought before answering.

"Well, there is a den nearby that is often occupied by Lightning Wolves, they can be cultivated to a decently strong level, even more so loyal to their masters. Though it is difficult to force them to submit, but it is often worth it." He says as I nod indicating for him to lead the way, it seemed like sound judgement to me. I had to admit I was a bit curious about these Lightning Wolves myself.

Walking to a nearby cave and entering, the smell of blood permeates in the air. Unperturbed I continue with Zeno following at my side, looking not the least bit concerned. The cave opens up displaying a pack of wolves devouring an exotic white deer. Counting 7 different beasts scattered about the room, I give a mental sigh.

This may be a difficult task…

A wolf perks its head up at our arrival, a deep growl escapes its throat getting the attention of the others. I walk forward thinking about how I should go about this. So, I just need to make one of them submit, to gain them as a familiar. Maybe I could just do it by throwing my raw magical power onto them.

Why not…

I reach for my magic and summon it forth casting it around the room, a noticeable pressure and quake follow. Seeing the wolves' shudder slightly but not back down I ramp it up even higher, feeling the drain on my mana but not yet enough to exhaust me. Narrowing my eyes as I force the maximum amount of power, cracking the ground as my exerted mana creates an earthquake.

Wispy black smoke radiates off of my body as I watch the wolves collapse onto the ground with a loud crunch. I widen my eyes and reign it in, a boisterous laugh sounds at my side.

"Ohohoho, impressive! Impressive! I haven't seen anyone try to make a beast submit that way, well not that it turned out well. The initial contact of your energy would have been enough, however you ended up killing them with the weight of your power. Not bad kid..." He says inspecting my work appraisingly, clearly impressed with my showing. Rubbing his chin as he turns his gaze to me, a sparkle of curiosity in his eyes as he gives a smirk.

"You have gained my interest young man… Want to become my disciple? I'll even teach you a little about my family arts if you agree. What do you say?" He says looking at me intently as my mind reels at the thought. He wants to teach me; it may be a good idea though I am a bit suspicious of his intentions.

"What could you possibly gain for doing such a thing?" I ask with a confused expression; a chuckle escapes his mouth before he sighs, the look of age beings to set on his face.

"When you get to my age, you learn to cherish the rare moments when interest takes you, so do you accept?" He asks looking at me intently waiting for my answer.

[Will you accept Zeno Zoldyck as your Mentor? Y/N]

"Alright, when do I start?" I ask after accepting as he gives me a grin.

"At sunrise. Don't be late." He says as he turns around leaving.

"If I told you I had a prior engagement, would I be able to reschedule?" I ask remembering the training I am supposed to be doing with my peerage in the morning.

"No, figure it out." He says disappearing as I sigh. My schedule is just getting bigger and bigger, thankfully I don't need to sleep.

Well, since I am here, I may as well continue my search for a familiar. Looking around the cave seeing the broken bodies of the wolves, I find an opening of collapsed rubble at the other side of the cave. No doubt caused from the small earthquake I formed.

Walking through the rubble into the new cavern like area, moss covers almost the entirety of the surface area in the cave. A small blue light illuminates the cavern at the center. A comforting humming fills my ears, looking to the source of the light I see a large blue egg emanating a soft glow. Two glowing lights constantly encircle the egg, approaching until I am roughly five feet from the edd I stop. Seeing the two moving lights stop before moving between the egg and I defensively.

Raising my hands in a placating manner as I speak aloud.

"I mean to cause no harm." I say as the lights seemingly sense my sincerity and move back to encircle the egg. Cautiously moving closer as I cast observe on the egg.

My eyes widen at the sight, I have never heard of any creature like this. But it is a God Tier entity, not really something to scoff at. I don't know what manner of beast it is really, considering it hatches from an egg it could be a number of things.

"I can provide this egg a safe place to grow, my previous acts have exposed this place to the elements. I fear for that reason this cavern is no longer safe, would you be willing to come with me?" I ask the lights, seeing as they can somewhat understand me, I could probably reason with them. The lights vibrate for a moment before resting themselves on the shell of the egg.

The small light emanating from the egg pulses for a moment, taking the off chance that this was an agreement of sorts I move closer. Resting my hands on the shell, noticing how warm it is before picking it up. The size slightly awkward, probably 3 times larger than an ostrich egg if I were to guess. Seeing as the lights show no outward sign of hostility, I make the assumption I am in the clear.

Focusing on teleporting back to the castle I quickly appear back in my room, I am then assaulted with a question.

"Where the fuck am, I going to put the egg?"
