This is a rewrite of an original draft I first posted during the Summer. Enjoy reading!

The Manhattan Clan have Puck cornered, but he was simply standing there, a smirk on his face as though he already had something planned. The trickster had them lured out by a fake distress phone call they got from Xanatos, luring them into an alleyway far from the castle.

"You're finished, Puck. Whatever new plan you have up your sleeve, it won't happen," growled the leader, Goliath.

Puck just laughed. "Foolish gargoyles, you've played right into my hands! I have a new spell different from any other I've been itching to try out, and that's why I wanted you all here, you are my test subjects for this new experiment!"

The second in command, Brooklyn, got into a fighting stance as he hissed dangerously at their enemy. "You won't get the chance! We will stop you before you even try anything!" He shouted in a challenging way. There could be times when Brooklyn gets a little too cocky, especially when he had been chosen as second in command and when Angela arrived.

Puck waved his hands tauntingly. "Come on then, try your luck out on me!" He floated a few feet above the air away from them.

Brooklyn felt his anger growing as he suddenly charged. "Brooklyn, don't!" Lexington yelled out in fear for his rookery brother, but he was too full of rage to listen and ran right at the laughing wizard.

"If it wasn't all of you, at least it was one of you!" He sneered, raising his hands into a spell. Brooklyn was about to attack Puck when he spoke some foreign words and a blast of white magic shot from his hands, throwing Brooklyn to the ground.

"No!" Screamed Angela, Goliath's daughter, as she watched her best friend collapse to the floor in pain.

But the spell wasn't done yet. It continued to swirl around the red gargoyle as he clutched his head and stomach in agony, feeling something inside him being pulled out of his body.

Lexington could only watch in horror as the magic began to make Brooklyn disappear.

Brooklyn stared up at his Clan all gazing at him in despair and fear as his vision began to blur and then, darkness.

Puck smiled triumphantly at the spot where Brooklyn vanished. His spell worked! Years of study and experimenting had paid off!

Broadway and Hudson were just staring in numb shock. Where did Brooklyn go?

Goliath, on the other hand, was in complete rage as he suddenly grabbed Puck's throat while the fiend was lost in his victory.

"WHERE IS HE?! WHAT KIND OF NEW SORCERY IS THIS?!" He bellowed, eyes glowing white in fury. Puck managed a satisfied smirk even though he was choking.

"Hah, how unfortunate that you didn't hold him back, Goliath. I sent Brooklyn into a place where the rest of you can't go unless you use my spell, which I will never reveal! I have also taken away your precious second in command's ability to transform into Stone or human. He is trapped in his flesh and blood form, unable to disguise himself from other humans! This will be one that I will use on the rest of your kind, making you all vulnerable in the day! And, don't even bother trying to contact him, for that option is out!" He then let out a mocking laugh which was cut off by Goliath's hand on his throat.

Even though he had his young apprentice, Alex, Puck was still Puck, no matter what side he was on. He only wanted to try out this new spell on the gargoyles, to see how long they can survive without their Stone Sleep. He did have a reverse/return spell in mind for Brooklyn. For you know, safety first when it came to his kind of magic. Despite Oberon limiting his magic with his banishment, that didn't stop him from trying out new spells, for sure!

He was at the moment merely putting on an act, so that the Gargoyles could sort this out with their own thinking, even if it meant him getting tortured.

Angela felt angry at Puck for hurting her friend, but deep down, she knew they would never get this new spell from Puck if he was murdered. She stepped carefully toward her father.

"IF YOU DON'T BRING HIM BACK…!" Goliath snarled, until he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Father, please, don't kill him. This won't help us bring Brooklyn back home if we do. The best thing we can do is bring him back to the castle and let Xanatos interrogate him there." She gazed up at him until he let out a low sigh and nodded.

"You're right, my daughter."

He then knocked Puck out and tossed him to Broadway.

Lex was feeling worried for Brooklyn as they made their way back. What if Puck won't tell us anything, and what if there is no counter spell for this? I'll never see him again! His body trembled with grief when Hudson approached him.

"Don't worry, lad. Brooklyn's a survivor. He will find his way back to us somehow."

Lexington glanced at him. "But-but what if he's-he's-" he stuttered, his heart racing as horrible images flew through his mind of possible after spell horrors, all of them

including Brooklyn lying on the ground, dying, or defenseless as ruthless creatures or humans threatened to hurt him.

"Just trust that he will come back. You need to have faith, young one."

The small gargoyle felt tears coming down, but he knew Hudson was right. He just had to trust in Brooklyn's surviving skills. Bronx gave a small whimper and nuzzled Lexington, who petted his head gently.

Please come home, Brooklyn, wherever you are! He prayed silently as the group all returned home to Castle Wyvern.

This takes place at least a week after the season 2 finale of Gargoyles, so no Quarrymen or anything like that.
