Prologue

"This guy stole a Magnetar from Mercury Labs. What the hell is he planning?"

"I don't know, but we better put a stop to it"

Now

The streets were in panic as two blurs sped through the streets of Central City. In front was a black blur with blue lightning trailing behind, while chasing this blue lightning was a streak of white light, leaving residual light behind as incomplete silhouettes. Glass windows shattered, cars rocked, and the ground shook as the two blurs tore through Central City.

Only 5 minutes ago, the Titans had received an alert that there were multiple speedster attacks all around. Central, Keystone, Opal, Gotham, everywhere.

"What is he doing, Flash?" the streak of white light called out to his comms.

"I don't know. He's just running and causing havoc, randomly." was the reply he got.

"Same here. I've got a bad feeling about this, guys." he spoke through his comms.

"I know, so let's get him and ask him." a woman spoke back through the earpiece this time. "Go get him, guys!"

"Yeah, let's!" the Flash spoke back. "I'm all over it!" said the white light.

The one in black ran up the side of the CCPN building and stopped on the roof, as the light stopped right behind this seeming monster of a man, the light fading to reveal a man in a black and white suit, with a visor and face mask making up his identity concealment. His suit had a few gadgets strewn across, in convenient places, unlike most super powered heroes. He took out a pair of bolas and threw them at the man in black, tying his legs together. The man in black fell down, and a streak of white light hit into him, throwing him across the rooftop, as he crashed into an electricity cabinet.

"It's over, Comet. You can't stop what's coming anymore." the man in black growled.

The 'Comet' was just about to start running towards him, when suddenly he stopped, feeling something coming from miles away. "What did you do?" he yelled at the man in black. Suddenly, he could see a dense wave of energy consuming everything in its path, stretching as far as the eye could see, showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. "My great victory is here!" the man in black laughed, hands stretched out, basking in victory, as the wave consumed him, the villain disintegrating into nothing. The Comet ran, as fast as he could. He knew what was happening, he'd lost. Everyone had just lost. He was only going to see his family one last time. His parents, his sister and his friends.

"Cait! Is that what I think it is?" he asked desperately.

"Yeah. It is" the woman, Cait, replied. She sounded defeated, and the Comet knew why. There was nothing that could be done. They hadn't seen this coming.

If they had, they could've devised a plan, a counter weapon, something. They'd been through so much, they'd have gotten through this too.

But it was too late.

As the Comet ran through his city, he saw people get obliterated by the wave of energy as he looked back over his shoulder. There was nothing he could do.

He was about to get to his headquarters, when suddenly there was a flash of light, and then a blue swirling portal opened in front of him, and he tumbled through.

The Comet tumbled and rolled across a field. He stood up with a sense of incredible urgency, but he greeted by the peaceful sight of a meadow, surrounded by small hills. The sun shone brightly, and there was no wave of energy in sight. The Comet pressed a button on his neck, and the visor he wore parted from the middle, and lowered his face mask. He couldn't see anything familiar, so he redid his mask, and ran off, to find where he was, and what was happening.

The Comet made it to the nearest city. The sign read 'National City'. He knew he needed to blend in to find answers, this might not be the sunny peaceful place it appeared to be. Before going into the city, he pressed his symbol on his chest twice, and the suit started to dematerialize, before shrinking into a ring, with an emblazoned 'C'. He had his clothes from before on, his black jeans and navy blue T-shirt loosening themselves from the tightness of the suit. He ran, this time with no trail of light behind him, since neon silhouettes would draw way too much attention, and stopped in an alley near an Internet cafeteria. He got on a computer and started typing away at inhuman speeds.

His mind swirled. There were mentions of Central City, but no news of the Particle Accelerator explosion that had rocked the world 3 years ago. No news of the great meteorite crashes a year and a half ago. One mention of the Flash although the picture was completely different than the one he knew, no mention of the Comet, or Frost, or any of the heroes he knew, or the Titans Guild that he was a part of. The only proper known superheroes were this 'Superman' and 'Supergirl'. He had no idea what was going on.

Until it clicked in his head. This wasn't his World. He knew about the existence of parallel Earths, alternate dimensions separated by vibrational frequencies. He'd travelled to one before with the Flash of his world, to save his sister. He immediately ran out and went back to the field he was in, and started running. He had to open a breach again, and he knew how. As he was running, he started vibrating at his natural frequency, and then focused on the dimensional barrier, particularly thinking about breaking through. Just as a breach started to open, and he was about to run in, he noticed anti-matter energy start to seep through. He barely swerved out of the way, the breach closing as it was no longer held open by the speedster. He thought of what it meant until he came to a hollow realization. He knew what had happened. The only reason a dimension would release anti-matter is if all matter had been consumed. This is what the man in black, known as Zoom had meant, what he said no one could stop. He screamed at the top of his lungs, before collapsing onto his knees and crying. His friends, family, his Earth, his entire dimension, had been wiped out by a Pulsar. What's worse, he was still alive, because he'd breached out before the wave swallowed him too.

Hello people. So this is my first ever fanfic, so try not to be too harsh, I guess is what I'm trying to say, but everyone's views are most welcome. I know the chapter probably seems a bit too short, but to be fair, this is the Prologue, and honestly I don't know what to talk about here. Let's see if people like it so far, even though there's just one chapter. Until next time (preferably soon)!
