Invitation

Revan just laid there, in Kara's bed, staring at her. She was so adorable. So beautiful. Revan ran his fingers through her golden hair, patting her gently, as she turned and nuzzled herself into Revan's shoulder. She even smelled heavenly. Was this what his friends were talking about, Revan wondered, when they said one day even he'll fall in love? He had laughed in their faces back then, but if they were here to see how the tables turned…

Presently, Kara began to stir, and slowly opened her eyes. Those bright blue eyes that mesmerized him, now landed on his deep black ones, and she smiled brightly.

"Good Morning, Rev." Kara said.

"Good Morning, Kara." Revan replied, cupping her cheek. "Sleep well?"

"Better than I have in a long time." Kara smiled, scrunching her nose. "Uhh I wanna stay here all day."

"Believe me, so do I." Revan said, planting a little kiss on Kara's forehead. "But we have work."

Kara groaned. "Fine." She whined as she slowly started getting up. She then sped around the apartment, getting ready, and in seconds, she looked like a California Dream Girl, as always, as Revan's thoughts spoke to him.

Kara, as she was walking into the room, caught Revan staring at her. "Well get up. You made me go get ready."

"Right sorry." Revan snapped out of his trance, and sped into his clothes, freshening up a bit in the washroom. "Well looks like we're ready for the day."

"Almost." Kara smirked, before speeding to Revan and planting a kiss on his lips. Revan kissed back almost immediately, cupping Kara's cheeks.

As they parted, Kara spoke, "You were forgetting the Good Morning Kiss."

"Okay." Revan laughed. "What do you say to getting some coffee before going to CatCo?"

"No, today.. I want ice cream." Kara said, making a thoughtful face.

"Deal." Revan said.

"Well come on!" Kara said, taking Revan's hand and pulling him towards the apartment door.

"Yeah yeah." Revan chuckled.

.

.

.

.

After several Sundaes, Revan and Kara decided to head to CatCo, when suddenly, Kara's phone rang.

"Yeah Winn?" Kara spoke as she accepted the call.

"Kara there's dimensional breach. Same energy discharge as when Barry came to and went from here." Winn spoke from the other side.

"What? Where?" Kara said, surprised. "Do you know who or what came through?"

"I can't tell from here what came through, but the breach was in your apartment." Winn said.

"We should check it out." Revan said.

Kara nodded and spoke into the phone, "We'll head there now."

She hung up, and the two heroes sped off after entering an alley, not bothering to change into their suits. When they entered the apartment, Kara looked around and went to check in the other rooms, Revan looked around the living room, his eyes eventually falling on a fairly large envelope. "Hey Kara! Come look at this!" He called to Kara in the other room, and Kara sped in. Revan handed her the envelope. On it, the words 'To Kara Danvers' were printed.

"Okay…" Kara said as she tentatively opened the envelope. Revan didn't peek, however. Whatever it was, it was a letter addressed to Kara. "Oh." Kara said, relief in her voice. "It's not some kind of death threat or some other thing by a villain. It's a wedding invite."

Revan was confused, "Huh?"

.

.

.

The two went to the DEO first, to clarify the opening of a breach in Kara's apartment.

"So Barry's getting married, huh? Nice!" Winn said.

"The Barry Allen, huh? The Flash." Alex said.

"Yeah." Kara said, her eyes suddenly falling on Revan, who was sitting separated, looking down. "Rev? What is it?"

"Nothing." Revan said, giving her his usual sober smile. "Just thinking about some things."

"Okay, well we still have to get to work." Kara said.

"Almost forgot." Revan said, getting up. "Let's go then, Girl of Steel." and the two heroes sped off.

.

.

Kara and Revan got off the elevator on their floor and got to work as usual, both eagerly looking forward to their break. They typed away on the computers, and the day went by.

Before long, it was time for their break, and the two met by the elevator as usual, Kara smiling wide and bright, and Revan taking her hand, leading her into the elevator.

Since they'd switched up their morning coffees for Ice Cream, the two heroes decided they'd do something different for lunch too, and after some debating, they settled on Chinese, after Kara promised that they weren't just going to gobble potstickers again, much to her disappointment.

Well, I spotted a cool Chinese joint, but it's just a bit far from here." Revan said.

"We have super speed." Kara shrugged.

"You know I noticed." Revan smirked.

"Smartass."

"Come on, Girl of Steel."

Kara and Revan were at the place within 3 seconds, and as they entered, they noticed the calm atmosphere in there. It was a cozy little place.

"This is nice." Revan said.

"Let's have a seat. Come on." Kara said, pulling Revan.

Revan and Kara settled into a table by the window, looking at the menu, deciding on what they'll.

"Remember, no potstickers." Revan teased, and Kara stuck her tongue out at him, making him chuckle. "You look so cute when you do that."

Kara blushed at that, then went back to browsing the menu to hide herself. "I'm getting myself some Kung Pao chicken. Hey what noodles should I take?"

"Try Rice noodles. They're delicious and they're very fulfilling." Revan told her. "I'll those and some Schezwan chicken."

"Great!" Kara said, putting the menu down as Revan flagged down a waiter and put in their orders. "Rev, can I ask you something?"

"Sure." Revan replied.

"It's about Barry's wedding." Kara said, which seemed to make Revan flinch a little. "Will you be my plus one?"

Revan paused. Did he? Of course he'd go anywhere with Kara, but this is different. This wasn't somewhere with Kara, this was Barry's wedding. The Barry that he lost when he was 9 years old. His best friend. He wondered if he was ready to see what Barry would be like if he'd grown up, and grown well, in a good environment. How Barry is when he's happy, with someone he loves.

"You're worried about seeing Barry, aren't you?" Kara asked, taking Revan's hand across the table.

Revan stuttered a bit before concurring, "Yeah." He swallowed. "I don't know if…"

"Hey." Kara squeezed Revan's hand. "It's okay. It's not until day after tomorrow, so take some time to think. We'll figure something out."

"Thanks Kara." Revan smiled. Her concern and caring was among the reasons he'd fallen for her, and they never failed to impress.

"Now I'm hungry!" Kara said as their food arrived, and Kara started shoving food into her mouth.

"Yeah yeah, me too." Revan said with another chuckle as he started following suit.

.

.

.

After a very satisfying meal, the two were on their way back to CatCo, when both Kara and Revan's communicator went off. It was an emergency. The two looked at each other, nodded, and sped off to DEO.

"What is it?" Kara said as landed beside a skidding Revan.

"Some guy is tearing up Mid Avenue, and he looks strong." Winn said.

"Well so am I." Kara said, cracking her knuckles.

On scene, Revan stopped on a rooftop as Kara went and confronted this person.

"Who are you?" she yelled at him.

"None of your business! I'm here for one of my people! Where is he?" the man said.

"Well who is he?" Kara asked.

"His name is Karb-Brak, but I reckon he's under disguise here. He has committed crimes against our ruler, and he'll be punished!"

"Okay but what did he do?" Kara asked again.

"Enough talk." The man said. "We will wait two hours, then we will attack again, and this time we will destroy more than a few walls." Suddenly a light shone over him, and he disappeared.

"Winn, was that-" Kara began.

"Yes Kara." Winn's voice crackled over comms. "That's a ship. They are hiding well from my detection, but that beaming up stuff revealed them."

Revan dismounted from the roof, running up next to Kara. "That looked like an Andromedan."

"What?" Kara asked, confused.

"Andromedans. They're similar to Kryptonians, but they're supposed to be very reclusive " J'onn spoke through comms. "Their reaction to solar radiations is similar to you as well."

"Great." Kara said. "Well we better find this person. What did he say the name was? Karb-Brak?"

"That's right. We better find him, however he may have hidden himself." Revan said. "Let's get back to the DEO for now. Figure out some kind of plan."

"Right behind you." Kara said as they went back to their headquarters.

.

"How do we find this guy?" Kara asked as Winn worked on his computer.

"With difficulty." Winn replied. "There are no known Andromedans in the database, which means we have to find this guy by ear."

"I'll ask a few of my contacts." J'onn said.

"Maybe I can find him." Revan said. "Andromedans absorb Solar radiation similar to Kryptonians. I could probably sense him if I was close enough. Stay on comms, I'll do a run." With that, Revan ran off.

"I'll follow him." Kara said, and she flew off as well.

Revan was doing his rounds of National City. He ran through every street, every nook and cranny he could find. It would take time, but not so much for a speedster like him. He focused, diverting as much of his concentration as he could without slamming in things while running, and stretched his senses. He felt various kinds of energy signatures, including Kara's as she flew overhead.

Suddenly, he felt another source of absorbed solar radiation, different than Kara's. He honed into this source, and it led him to an apartment near a construction site.

"Supergirl, I think I got him." Revan spoke through his comms.

"Meet you there." Kara said as she dove down from the sky, into the apartment block Revan entered. The two stopped on the third floor. Revan felt the trail intensify as he stopped in front of a door, and he knocked.

A man that looked middle aged, maybe late 30s opened the door. "Wow. Supergirl and the Comet, huh? To what do I owe this visit?"

"Could you please come with us?" Revan said, distorting his voice as usual.

"Am I in trouble?" the man asked.

"Not if you didn't do anything wrong. I promise." Revan said.

"Okay.." the man said.

"What's your name?" Kara asked.

"Oh, I'm Andrew. Andrew Meda." The man, Andrew replied.

"Okay Andrew, we're going some place secluded." Kara told him, and took him into the air. Revan followed them, as Kara flew to a field behind the construction site. She scanned the surroundings with her super vision, finding the coast to be clear.

"Okay Andrew. I need you to come clean with us." Revan said. "Who are you really?"

"What are you talking about?" Andrew asked nervously.

"I can feel Solar radiation emanating from you. You've absorbed it." Revan said, crossing his hands. "You're an Andromedan, aren't you?"

Andrew sighed. "Yes. Yes I am. This is about them asking for me, isn't it?"

"Yes. It's Karb-Brak, isn't it?" Revan said coolly.

"Yes, although it's been a while since I've been called that." Andrew said, letting out a small smile.

"Why are they after you?" Kara asked.

"I'm sick. It's a disease few people are born with. Not fatal, not even very harmful. The only thing it does is negates our cells' ability to utilize the sunlight they absorb." Andrew explained.

"So you're not strong like the other guy?" Kara asked.

"No, and I don't want to be in the first place. I want to live a normal life." Andrew said. "But anyone born with disease is sentenced to death in our society."

"What? For a disease?" Revan asked, shocked.

"Funny isn't it? I didn't choose it. I followed all the rules. Yet because if a genetic coincidence, it's all my fault, and I have to die." Andrew said dryly.

"We're not letting that happen." Kara said, and Andrew looked at her with confusion. "We'll keep you safe. Come with us."

"Yeah come on. I'll take you." Revan now said.

"Why? You could just let them take me." Andrew said. "It would save you and all humans a lot of trouble."

"Well we humans tend to get bored without a little trouble. Now let's go." Revan said, picking him up, and taking him to the DEO, Kara following.

Revan ran in and put him in a holding cell. "Stay here, okay? You'll be safe here for the time being."

"Okay." Andrew said.

Now the rest of them conferred back at the main hub.

"Well all that said, how do we stop these Andromedans?" Alex asked."It's not like they have an explicit weakness."

"I can flood their system with Red solar radiation, but it's not like I can keep doing it as they come." Revan said.

"So we need a consistent countermeasure." J'onn said. "Well we need to think of something."

"How much time do we have left?" Revan asked.

"Little over half an hour." Winn said.

"I've got a few ideas." Revan said, then sped into Winn's lab, getting to work at super speed. Fifteen minutes later, he sped out. "Okay I have a plan, but first I need to talk to Andrew about some inside intel." He ran off again, reappearing in his spot a minute later.

"Slow down, Rev." Kara said, getting concerned about him using too much energy.

"I need to right now, so yeah." Revan said, actually sitting down, and threw something at Alex and Kara. It was a spherical object with a flat knob and a button.

"What is this?" Alex asked.

"That" Revan began as he pointed at it, "is a Red Solar Grenade."

"What?" Alex almost yelled

"Relax." Revan said, clearly looking tired. "But yes. Press the button, or set a time delay if you want, and when it goes off, it releases a small field of red solar radiation. It won't be fatal, but it will be enough to depower the Andromedans for at least a minute or two. Red Solar Radiation is way more residual than Yellow, so it takes time to leave any absorbant body. Once they're depowered, Kara and I can take out several before we need another throw."

"Good Plan. Let's kick their ass." Kara said.

"Whoa, slow down, Girl of Steel." Revan said, smirking. "That's not the main plan. Does anyone have any idea about where I can find a small, expendable space ship with a minimum travel speed of Mach 5?"

J'onn and Kara looked at each other and shrugged. "Yeah." They said in unison.

.

.

.

Fifteen minutes later, Revan and Kara stood in the street where a medium sized ship landed, and three Andromedans in special armor stepped out.

"Is that all of you?" Kara asked them casually. Revan looked at her, smirking under his mask. Kara was learning well, trying to extract information without giving away much in an unexpected situation.

"Save the pilot." One of them answered. "Enough talk. Where's the fugitive?"

"We don't know. We've been tracking him for the last two hours but we haven't caught him. But we discovered he might be planning to escape this planet on a stolen spacecraft." Revan said in a professional manner.

"That wasn't the deal!" another one yelled out. "Where is he?"

"We don't know!" Kara replied with stress.

The angry one suddenly jumped forward at Kara, but she caught his fist, and threw her own straight at his face. The man went flying back several feet.

"Kryptonian, eh?" the third one said. "I apologize for my friend's uncalled rudeness. However it would be in your best interests to give him to us. We outnumber you. Three Andromedans are enough for one Kryptonian."

"Really?" Revan now stepped forward, and tossed one of his grenades forward. As soon as it exploded, the three felt weak.

"What is this?" the third one asked, confused.

"A countermeasure against needless violence." Revan's distorted voice rang out. "It's not like we're deliberately messing with you. We just couldn't find him in the time you gave us. This is a rather large planet, you know."

"We must find him. We cannot fail our Emperor." The angry one yelled, his hand on his cheek where he was punched by Supergirl.

Suddenly in the distance, both the heroes and the Andromedans could see a spacecraft taking off, flying straight into the atmosphere, or rather escaping it.

"That's it!" Revan suddenly said. "That's your fugitive. Check with your pilot! He has scanners, right?"

"Morx! Confirmation?" the third one, or the calmer one asked through comms. There was some chatter that Revan didn't care to pick up, and suddenly the Andromedans spoke something in an unknown language, got onto their ship and flew off.

"Phew." Kara said as the ship shot off into the sky. "That worked."

"Great job, guys! They totally bought it!" Winn yelled into comms.

The two heroes fist bumped and then sped off to DEO, stopping near the holding cells.

"Are they gone?" Andrew asked.

"They are." Revan told him.

"That's a relief." Andrew said with a sigh.

"We can give you safety, and maybe with time, we can cure you." Revan told him.

"Thank you. For all you've done for me. Honestly." Andrew smiled.

Later, the team conferred back at the hub.

"Good thing we confiscated some of those Daxamite ships." Alex said.

"Yeah. Daxamite means top of the line. And from Andrew's info, it was way faster than what they had. It'll be months before they figure out that was a decoy." Revan said.

"Well done everyone." J'onn said. "And good plan, Mr. Snow." He added at the end before walking off.

"Well I don't know about you, but I am hella hungry." Revan said.

"You read my mind, Rev. Let's go." Kara said, smiling, and they sped off.

.

.

After deciding to stay in and eat, the heroes picked up their food from Big Belly Burger and went back to Kara's apartment to eat. They were both stuffing their mouth, talking about various things, including their plan today, when Kara got a little serious.

"Rev. What are you going to do about this?" she asked, pointing at the Allen Wedding invite.

"Right, well…" Revan went silent for a moment, before saying, "I don't know. I don't know if I can see him without seeing my best friend."

Kara pondered. Then she came to a decision.

"You know, it just occurred to me." She said brightly, taking Revan's hand. "Who's going to watch over the city when I'm gone? If you're gone with me too, the city will be defenseless for several days! So tell you what. I'll take Alex, and you stay here and take care of National for me, okay?"

Revan smiled, and hugged her.

"Thanks for understanding." He said from Kara's shoulder.

"Don't mention it." Kara said, breaking the hug, cupping Revan's face and kissing him. Revan returned the kiss happily, putting a hand behind her waist and laying her down on the couch, the last slice of pizza forgotten on the table.

X-X-X-X-X

Y'all know what's about to come, guys. But let's not take it's name. I would also like to admit I have very little knowledge about Andromedans from DC comics, but I do know about them, yet I haven't seen one mention in any of the popular iterations of DC characters, so I decided to use them for a chapter, and maybe they'll return for a future one as well.

Review to tell me what you like and don't like and keep reading, folks. Peace!
