The Hylian
The armored man, was standing on a hill, overlooking the leave of the Arbiter's Pelican, and making sure it had left the airspace, before boring his eyes once more into the reason he was here.
The Hylian.
He'd been making idle chitchat with an old friend of his, and thankfully, said friend was heading back onto the ship.
It had been days since he had used a portal from the Underworld to gain access to Hyrule, and while the transition between worlds was striking, due to having been down there for hundreds of years, it did not cloud his goals on searching for the one thing he needed most.
The Hylian.
When he'd first entered the world, he knew where to go. In observing the living realm, he had noticed that the sovereign of the Hylian had made an error in judgement, and decided to retire him. It was perplexing to him, that one would relinquish the use of such a powerful warrior, but, in all honesty, it had only made his job easier. He approached his home in Hateno, with the intent to break in and reveal himself to the Hylian.
However, it was not long before he heard rustling in the house. The armored man cursed himself internally. I should have known he'd be vigilant to my presence. He instead decided to stand there and wait until the Hylian had exited to reveal himself.
However, once the door opened, and the Hylian had come out, he'd noticed something. For one, he had not yet noticed the presence of the armored man. But another, far more important detail, was that he was not wielding the weapon that made him a necessity. The Master Sword was nowhere to be seen.
It was as he observed this, that the Hylian's eyes rested upon him. In a flash, the armored man opened a portal and descended back into the Underworld. Something was not right.
It was the day after when he'd decided to enter Hyrule once more, as he had come to the conclusion that while the Hylian might not be currently in possession of the Master Sword, it had to be somewhere...
Going to the Hylian to ask was basic suicide, as while he could simply regenerate at the Bonfire he had residing in the Underworld, he didn't wish to get closer to Hollowing, and he knew what the Hylian would do to him. He'd kill him on sight, due to having frightened him the night prior.
He could only think of one other that would have such trusted information. His sovereign. Seeing as the kingdom was already under attack by the evil lurking within his world, positioning himself here was the best way to access the Hylian's sovereign, while also being well positioned to defend the castle, should another attack arise.
He decided to set up a Bonefire here, due to having nothing else to do while he planned for his incursion of the castle, and it would make for a practical regeneration point, however, as always, the Bonefire entranced him, as it did all Undeads.
This would be to his detriment, as he almost didn't notice the footsteps next to him. He didn't wish to alarm who was approaching him, so instead, he relied upon his peripheral vision. It was none other than the man he'd seen the night before.
The Hylian.
Except there was something different about him this time. On his back, sheathed, was the blade of legend, the Master Sword. Out of shock, the armored man opened a portal, sending him back down to the Underworld.
This...this changes everything...
It was a change of events he did not see coming. So he'd had it the whole time, yet he didn't wield it the night prior? Wasn't it his go-to weapon?
None of those questions mattered. What mattered was that he, the Hylian, had the one thing he needed. It was time to act.
Upon entering Hyrule for the 3rd time, he appeared on a hill, overlooking Hyrule field. It was nighttime.
What shocked him, however, was that residing in Hyrule field, was not only the Hylian, his sovereign, and the Champions, but also, many other warriors, that did not originate from Hyrule.
And he knew all of them, having watched the actions of every so called, "hero" that had existed in the realm. A Sangheili known as the Arbiter, a man named Mario, and a bounty hunter named Samus, among others, were all present, and walking towards the castle.
However, he did not care about them. In the coming conflict, one thing was key, and it was the sword that the Hylian now had on his back.
He'd stayed on the hill, waiting for the return of the newcomers, to ensure that the Hylian did not leave, and to his pleasure, once all of them got back onto their ship, the Hylian was left behind.
He'd come to his conclusion.
The next day, the armored man would make his way to meet the Hylian. He would confide in him the need for his weapon in the coming battle. While he knew it would take some convincing to gain his allegiance, he was determined to pull it off. It was time for his plan to come into action. And that would require one thing only.
The weapon of the Hylian, Link.
Author's Note: For those that don't know, which is probably most people reading this, the armored man, is the Chosen Undead from Dark Souls. For any that did realize that, it was hinted at due to the use of "Bonefires" and "Hollowing". Both of those will be explained as the story goes on, as will his "plan" and "need" for the Master Sword, as well as thw "Underworld". This chapter is very obscure, and that is by design, as it's going to feed into Chapter 9. This chapter was simply met to set up more about the armored man, before he takes center stage, and give a taste of his perspective throughout his encounters with Link.
Also, it may seem like Link is taking the role of the "main character", but rest assured, he is not. He's taking center stage for now, while the armored man is getting his arc set up. There will be no one main character, however there will be a group of characters that are more important to the story than others, that will all act as the main character. As the chapters go on, you'll notice that while Link has an important role, he will become less of a main focus. Stay tuned folks.
Also, you'll notice that I am taking HEAVY changes to how the Undeads will play into the overall plot and how they're all connected to the Underworld. For any fans of Dark Souls, know that the lord behind the Undeads will be altered to fit the man villain storyline that will be set up later(no the main villain is not the armored man lol). These changes will also apply to other characters like Sans, when he come in, however, like the Undeads, that will become more apparent once later chapters start to come out.
Next chapter, Chapter 8, will be going back to Dreamland(I know I said that that would be this chapter, but plans change), and then the one after that, will start to reveal more about the armored man's goals are.
