The remainder of the league stood around the bar and it was clear that the mission had been a complete disaster.

The end result of the mission had been that instead of gaining a possible recruit they lost 3 powerful members. That doesn't even mention the fact that most members were heavily injured and access to medical care was difficult at best for villains.

Compress had a couple broken ribs and probably internal bleeding.

Toga had been mauled by a racoon, so they had to worry about diseases along with the bites.

Dabi got off pretty easily with heavy bruises.

Magne and Spinner got lucky and hadn't fought that goddamn rabbit more than a brief encounter.

And having a beaten up team was one thing, but it's apparently a lot more frustrating to be injured yourself. So here he is with a broken arm from the stupid fucking deer.

Even if their 'doctor' was more of a mad scientist, Tomura hoped that he would be able to patch up his team after that terrible loss. But beyond that problem, they still would need to handle the issue of who they did manage to capture.

They had gotten the things needed to hold a human with exploding hands, how were they going to contain a super-powered rabbit? Compress' quirk was a short term solution since it was a bad idea to keep living things in there for a long time if you wanted it to stay living.

And that wasn't even mentioning that most of his vanguard was ready to mutiny on behalf of this rabbit.

It was the next day and things still weren't going well for Shigaraki. This entire mission had not even been close to worth it. So he did what he did whenever things went badly, he asked Sensei for help.

"Tomura, although this was not the plan, you may still be able to succeed."

"How?! Everything is a disaster!"

"I do not recall teaching you to give up so easily."

"Sorry Sensei…"

"I simply meant that even though you couldn't get this Bakugou as a recruit doesn't mean you can't attempt to recruit the one you did capture. Perhaps the explosive child could have been corrupted by his rage and pride, but Midoriya is idealistic enough that you may be able to turn him against the heroes."

"I get it! By showing him that heroes are garbage then he'll fight against them!"

"Hmmm, he seems to value honesty, so focus on that and do not lie to him unless you are sure you will not be caught."

"And if their perfect little hero student switches sides people will see how wrong the heroes are."

"Yes, but even if you fail in converting him, do try not to lose him. The doctor would like him as a specimen if recruitment fails."

He went back to his allies with a bit of a plan.

They got a cage that the doctor used for his more problematic creations that would be more than strong enough to hold the enhanced rabbit.

It took a bit to get everything set up but they got there eventually. The League of Villains covered in bandages surrounding a cage with a marble in it.

"Alright Compress, let him out before he starves or something. You guys keep watch, I'll deal with him later." And with that he went to his room to try and get some rest, which is a challenge with a broken arm in a cast.

Izuku was now suddenly in a cage and didn't like that at all.

He looked around and the only things in there with him were some rabbit food pellets and a bowl of water, his keyboard for typing wasn't with him but it could be worse. Outside the cage was more worrying.

There were three people standing around, the girl who smelled like blood, the guy who smelled like smoke, and the other one who smelled like a lizard.

The girl got very close to him and tried to grab him through the small gaps in the cage.

"He's so cute and bloody! I want to just gobble him up!"

Oh no! Izuku did not want to be gobbled!

A big lady with the big magnet walked into the room, "You can't eat hostages, because then you don't have hostages, Himiko."

She pulled a knife out and started to line it between the bars of his cage, "What if I only stab him a little bit?"

The big lady picked up the scary knife girl, "Nope, we're not stabbing anyone. Sorry guys, but I'm taking Toga off guard duty before she tries to bite someone. Plus we need to make sure she didn't get rabies or something from that racoon."

The smoky smelling one looked at Izuku, "Maybe this is a dumb question, but now that you've brought it up, are we sure that the rabbit doesn't have rabbies or something? He doesn't act like a regular rabbit."

Izuku felt a little insulted at that, he was not diseased! He huffed angrily before looking at his reflection in the water bowl and realizing he looked a bit gross and sick since he was covered in blood and dirt.

He cleans himself in the dish while the lizard man and the smokey man argue about who will take first watch. He assumes they decided it would be the lizard person since the smoky smelling man left.

It was quiet for a bit as the lizard person sat there and seemed kind of nervous. He looked around to be sure everyone was truly gone before handing Izuku his little keyboard.

"I shouldn't be giving you this, but… well I really look up to you, you've inspired a lot of people."

The first thing he did was press the secret panic button so his hero friends would know where he was, but after that he decided talking was a good idea so he could learn stuff.

"Hi, my name's Izuku, what's your name?"

"I know who you are, my name's Spinner. I'm really sorry, I'd let you go but neither of us would make it very far with everyone else so close by."

Izuku nodded, that made sense. "Are you a human with a lizard quirk or a lizard with a human quirk?"

Spinner froze. "I'm a gecko with a human quirk…"

"Nice! I'm a rabbit! Does your family have human quirks too?"

"Not exactly, we all have ape quirks though. My sister had a gorilla quirk, my mother had a chimpanzee quirk, and my brother had an orangutan quirk. I just happened to get 'human' out of the types of great ape mutations."

"Where's your family now?"

He got quiet again, "Humans started cutting down our forest and there wasn't enough food in it anymore. We tried to get out and find somewhere new, but poachers got my family. I don't know if they are alive or not or where they would be if they somehow survived this long."

He wiped a few tears away "I was only a few years old when I got to a town a few days later. They thought I was a human with a mutation so I was put into foster care and raised as if I was one of them."

Izuku nuzzled his hand through the bars of the cage. "Why'd you become a villain?"

He got a sad laugh in return. "I didn't exactly have a lot of options once they realized I wasn't actually a human. You can't get a job or education without some form of ID and that's only for humans. You were probably only able to go to highschool because Nezu runs UA."

Izuku nodded, UA was the only school that would accept his application and no middle schools even considered taking him. Without Kachan teaching him there was no way for him to be ready for the UA exams, and most people didn't have a Kachan.

"So I needed a way to survive. The system we have treats everyone who isn't 'normal' like garbage and this seemed like a group where I could change that." He sighed "I hate fake heroes and people who only pretend to help, but this isn't what I wanted. I wanted to fight against injustice, not kidnap children."

He shook his head, "You were actually the main reason I decided to join in a way. I never thought I could change anything until I saw you fighting on TV. I finally believed I could fight for a better world, but all I've done is kidnap the person who inspired me."

Izuku sat there listening and thinking very hard.

How could he help his brand new friend?

He remembered something very important that had helped him in many situations. If you didn't know how to do something then you should ask a smart person in case they have the answer.

"Do you want to keep being a villain?"

"Not really, they said they followed Stain's ideas, but that was all just a lie to get us to join. But it's not like I can just leave without getting turned to dust."

Izuku nodded. "Can you hand me your phone?"

"Uh sure, I have a thing called a burner phone the League gave me."

Izuku took it and placed it on the floor of his cage and dialed a number in.

"Hey, who are you calling?" Spinner sounded a bit panicked and nervous, but that was ok, he was getting a person for helping.

After a few rings the person picked up. "Hello! This is Nezu, I'm very curious as to who this is and how you got my personal number."

"Hi Nezu, I made a new friend!"

"Oh, Izuku! I'm glad to hear from you, I was very worried, but it's good to know you've made a friend even in the most difficult of situations!"

"His name is Spinner and he's a lizard with a human quirk! He doesn't want to be a villain anymore and I thought you might know how to do that, you are very smart."

"Haha! Thank you for the kind words. I'll always be amazed at how skilled you are at helping people no matter the situation. Now, is our fellow quirked animal with you now?"

Izuku nudged Spinner's hand to encourage him to speak up.

"Oh, um, yes. I'm here, Nezu, uh, Nezu sir."

There was a slight chuckle at how flustered Spinner was. Which Izuku thought was reasonable, Nezu was an icon to any quirked animals.

"Hello Spinner, it sounds like you're in quite the predicament. Tell me, why is it you became a villain, specifically anything that wasn't done just out of surviving."

He regained a bit of his confidence and tried to speak as assuredly as possible. "I wanted to make things better for people who weren't being helped by heroes."

"Hmm, well, this is going to be quite tricky. You see, it is much easier to turn a hero into a villain than a villain into a hero, but I do love a challenge!"

Izuku liked this idea, "Yay! We'll get to be heroes together!"

"Huh? All I wanted was a way out of the League without getting killed? How is that even legal?"

"Did you forget who you're talking to?"

Both Izuku and Spinner responded at the same time, "No, you're Nezu."

"Haha, that's right! So step one is clearing your record so you aren't a wanted criminal."

"Not to be rude, Nezu sir, but is that even possible?"

"Oh, it most certainly is! We will be making you a confidential informant to help take down the League and any other villain organizations they work with. Well, that will be the case if you manage to escape the raid that will be happening in about 10 minutes. I give yourself and your former allies a 30% chance of escaping due to focus on rescue rather than capture. Now, as you can imagine I am quite busy with your rescue, so I must be going!"

With that he hung up and left Spinner with much to think on.

After a few moments of silence the door opened and Dabi walked in. "Ya know, I only came over to talk to the bunny about something, but what I just heard was much more interesting."

Spinner reached for his very large sword as the burnt man closed the door behind him.

"Here's the thing though, I won't turn you in to the boss, but that's just because I owe that rabbit a big favor. So here's what you're going to do, you're gonna stick around you weird ass lizard-person, and the moment you have enough shit on other villains to go legit you get the hell out of my way."

Izuku piped up, "Actually, since the adjective goes first he's a person-lizard, not a lizard-person."

Dabi started laughing loudly, "I suppose he is."

Spinner looked at Dabi sceptically, "Is whatever this favor is worth a 70% chance of going to jail?"

"Buddy, I'm a villain whose quirk burns their own flesh, this is better odds of success than nearly any job I've done. Now, I've got a couple minutes before the heroes show up and there's no way I'm doing this sober."

He walked away without another word.

Izuku turned to Spinner and munched on some of the rabbit food, "He seems nice."
