***Getting the cataract in my right eye operated on tomorrow. Be great to have normal vision again***
[a/n0]A couple reviews wondered about Harry's fate. It was definitely a reward, after all St. Peter wanted him to fill in sometimes. Which brings me to Alix33's request for a description of the desk. I pictured a desk of the kind seen in a CEO's or Head of State's office. Ash or cherry wood. Heavy. 8' long, 6' deep. Marble top. Gold drawers. The In Box would have to be stacked high. There would be decorative carvings. The chair, leather with gold arms, it would swivel or rock at St. Peter's whim.
[a/n]Vukk offered this idea I know that JKR said heavier things are harder to move with magic. If Ron Weasley could levitate a trolls stick at 11, why wouldn't the trio teach others how easy it was at the Battle of Hogwarts?
Harry Does Different CCCDXXIV
The First Goblin OOM
"Give me Harry Potter." The voice of Lord Voldemort reverberated through the castle "All magic blood is precious. None of you need die this night."
Pansy Parkinson recommended "Well? What are we waiting for? Him for all of us? Sounds like a good deal to me!"
"Mr Filch, kindly lead Slytherin House into their dungeons." Professor McGonagall commanded sternly, then to the Trio "It has been a long time. You wouldn't be here for a social call. What do you need, Harry?"
Having just seen her chase off his hated nemesis, Harry grinned and honored with a bow and the title "Headmistress. Mostly I need time. Something of Voldemort's is hidden here that needs to be destroyed."
"We will hold against the savages. The school has a number of defenses in case of just such an emergency." She smiled and, for a older witch, flushed at the praise "We'll see about awarding points tomorrow. Filius, Molly, Horace, come …we have much work to do."
Harry paused to watch as all the gargoyles came to life at McGonagall's command and marched for the battlements. All the professors were firing off advanced shield spells when an odd idea occurred. He approached the Charms teacher "Professor, I noticed trolls and giants among Voldemort's army and I remembered Ron knocking one out with his own club and a simple levitation spell."
"I was told about that, why?" the smaller magical didn't take his eyes off his work.
Seeing his friends run off, Harry spoke quickly "If a First Year could float something that outweighs him, what could you… or even a Seventh lift? And …cut the spell at just the right time."
"I don't see many large or heavy things lying about." Filius scowled in thought.
The teenager pointed out "You're not thinking about impact from a height, sir. The benches, tables, chairs. Drop any one from a hundred feet and it'll kill anything it hits. And, seems to me, the castle is made from a bunch of rocks stacked high."
"I take your point." Answered the goblin "Now off you go."
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was under siege by an army of hundreds of Death Eaters, allies and assorted dark creatures. The Dark Lord had gloatingly kept exactly to his word, knowing victory was guaranteed, he coolly ordered "Very well, they have chosen doom. Commence the attack."
"Headmistress, the shield near the west wing is cracking!" a worried report came to her from Tonks.
Acromantulas were spitting web missiles at the shield, giants and trolls were pounding on it with clubs as large as trees, the wizards and witches of Voldemort's army were throwing every shield piercing spell they could power. They were so totally focused on their task of the moment they paid no attention to what was happening a couple hundred feet over their heads.
"Finite Incantatum!" what Hogwarts defenders had been doing behind the castle shield was casting Wingardium Leviosa only everything heavy that they could get hold of. Up to massive construction blocks which made up some pillars and walls. Filius used a master charm to link all of the spells into one. And just as the first gargoyle defenders were engaging the enemy, the levitation spells all ended.
Deep inside the castle Harry Ron and Hermione had dealt with the last, but one, of Voldemort's horcruxes. They met up and were rushing to join the battle when they heard an almighty **CRASH**
Perhaps fifty of the attackers survived, a mix of humans and creatures. Half of them were injured to varying degrees. Those that weren't were too outnumbered to do anything but surrender or flee.
"I AM IMMORTAL! FREE ME AND BOW DOWN TO YOUR MASTER!" Voldemort was trying to pull part of a bench out from his side.
Ron and Harry tossed their horcrux remnants to the ground near the skewered Dark Lord with grim expressions. Neville Longbottom had a severed snake head in one hand and an ornate sword in the other.
"I would say that is that, Mr. Riddle." The Headmistress was unsympathetic toward the wounded enemy "Filius, would you care to do the honors?"
Hermione was a little reluctant "Isn't that murder, Professor?"
"He's too dangerous to be left alive!" the Charms teacher shook his head "Avada Kedavra!" Without a central figure to rally around, the war was over.

"This is a historic moment." announced Interim Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt "And I wanted to call special attention to our final recipient of the Order of Merlin, First Class. I believe a number have been awarded to wizards for fighting against goblins, but it is my high privilege to award one to a goblin. Specifically to Charms Professor and Head of House Ravenclaw, Filius Flitwick. His spellcrafting at the Siege of Hogwarts could have been done by no other, saved an unknown number of lives and prevented much destruction on the campus."
The audience broke out in applause.
