Before you start reading, just let you know this story is heavily inspired by World Eater by Wacko12 and a lot of other fanfic. and I own nothing other than my oc. Also, this is the first time I write fanfic so I'm sure it will be full of cringe and grammar mistakes, so please go easy on me.
"Well, that was done and sent..." I said as I send the email to my client for the fourth time this day. Now, I just need to wait for the client's confirmation, "or he will ask me to change it again, hah... whatever, if he is not satisfied with this, then I will do it tomorrow".
Ahh... let me introduce myself before we continue, ahem, hello, my name is Nanami Taito, 22 years old, standing 174cm tall, have an average build, and currently work as a freelancer as an artist and writer since I graduated from high school, last is, I kinda have a good-looking face too, if I do say so myself.
I stood up and went to the kitchen for a glass of water.
As I finish the glass I check my phone to know what time right now, "22.37 huh… well, I better hurry or I will miss the last chance to log in to YGGDRASIL".
Came back to my room to prepare my NNI (Neural Nano-Interface), I couldn't help but sigh as I look at the console.
The last time I log in to this game was like one month ago thanks to a lot of commissions recently, since I started to work myself, I understand why a lot of guild members quit the game, because of works some of them doesn't have a lot of free times anymore, some start to pursuing their dream, and some already have their own families.
I had a lot of good times with this game. YGGDRASIL, a DMMO-RPG with the main selling point being, 'player freedom'. DMMO-RPG was still a new and not popular genre back then, so a game like YGGDRASIL was really rare, but after a few years lot of new games with the same genre come out and rivaling YGGDRASIL.
I had put in countless hours playing YGGDRASIL, gathering items to get upgrade my race levels or change them into something else. Even using a few of World Item to become one of the World Enemy itself, the Developers must be crazy since they allowed me, a World Champion to become the cheat itself.
And now the game comes to an end... no, it's impressive that the game still can compete with the other new games. Actually, why the Dev even decided to shut down this game, anyway? While it's true that the players are not as much as when the game just come out, but it's still a popular game.
Oh, right. I heard they plan to make YGGDRASIL II, the continuation of this game, who knows if it's just a rumor or truth though.
After I've done preparing the NNI up, I sat in the chair and put on the helmet, and log into YGGDRASIL for the last time.

As I log on to my character, I take a quick look at my character and equipment to make sure nothing has changed, Arah Auntyr Dragonika was the character that I created and used in the game.
Arah himself was in his Dragonoid form at the moment and I'm glad to see nothing had changed, a 187 cm tall Dragonoid, with really good-looking and somehow dainty face that only can exist in fictional worlds like game and anime, he has pale skin, red eyes that have vertically slitted pupils, and the crown of short snow-white hair as the last touch.
What? Don't judge me, it's my pride and beloved character that I make, of course, I'm going to make it as cool and attractive as I can, white hair and red eyes is simply a deadly combination don't matter if it was a male or female. He also has a pair of flat and curved white horns protruding from his head, pointing upwards, with the underside of his horns has a light shade of red color, his large white wings to fly, along with his dragon tail. For the outfit, Arah wears high-collared black robes with gold trim, dark suit pants, and dark shoes, along with a large flowing white sash with gold patterns draped around his torso.
My equipment itself hadn't changed at all. A full plate of dark armor, a cloak, and a face-covering helmet with draconic features. My main and strongest weapon was a large red and black double-edged great sword, {Incarnation of Destruction: Erra}. The weapon is just a little shorter than Arah himself.
I made the weapon with the help of one of my guild friends. And using two of the World Item, {Ginnungagap}, and {World Saviour}, as its base and other divine items as the materials. This weapon is one of the reasons how I can easily obliterate all of my competitions and completely dominated the tournament of World Champion of Muspelheim.
Satisfied with my character and equipment, I went on to check my levels and stats.

"Well, that's World Enemy for you. No matter how many times I see it, it's still crazy," even one of the Eight Dragons or Lord of Seven Deadly Sins is already overpowered World Enemy boss, to defeat one of them, over 30 top-level players with full equipment are needed and yet it's still not guaranteed the victory.
Devourer of Nine World or World Eater is above them, as the last boss in Lore and the strongest Dragon in the game. No wonder the stats are immeasurable.
Even I myself didn't remember just what kind of racial class and job classes I have, the boost level that I got from World Enemy is destroying the limiter level and as long as I remember I can pick anything I want as long it's associate with Dragon and not hinder with one to another.
After I've done check my stats, I take a quick look around I notice I was in Asgard, specifically the hall of Valhalla, one of the more popular places in YGGDRASIL, especially for battle junkie players, since this hall is like a grand stage for PvP.
It was empty. It wasn't too surprising to me that no one is here, since the game will be closing soon, why would anyone bother to come. It's still sad, though. The game had a lot of good memories for me and I know for a fact others as well, because none of my guild friends sell their accounts, before they quit they usually left their equipment in the Guild or give them to other members that still active like me, even the World Item that they own.
I check my friend list to see if anyone online, I was hoping to see the other members like Diabolos, EroorooShota, or Svafnir log for the last time, but I guess I hope too much, 'last online eight, nine, and eleven months ago,' I read their profiles in my friends' list, 'hah... I guess everyone is busy with their life'.
But I'm glad there's still one online friend of mine, even though he's from a different guild and funnily enough he also the same Guild Master like me, I shot him a message, hoping he wasn't AFK.
Arah: Hey, Momon-san. Nice to see you again. How have you been?
Momonga: Arah-san, you online? Nice to see you too, I've been good. How are you? It's been a while since I see you online.
Arah: yeah, these few weeks have been rough for me, it's really tiring and hard to find an opportunity to play the game. It's amazing how you and the other adults can manage both workings and play without mess up the sleep pattern.
Momonga: hahaha, yeah for the beginning it's really hard to manage work and play, but it will become easy after a while, by the way, what about the other Charlesolute?
Arah: I hope so, Nah... none of them log for the last time, they must be busy. I just hope they are doing well. What about Ainz Own Goal?
Momonga: hahaha... other than one member, it's the same in here. I hope they are doing well too, by the way, what are you doing, Arah -san?
Arah: just typical Charlesolute member, walking around without direction. Anyway, I'm going to randomly sightseeing for the last time in this game, I hope we can see each other again in another game. Good night, Momonga-san.

It's nice to see someone have the same idea as me, and just like I said to Momonga I open the [gate] to walk or flying around in my case from Asgard to Alfheim, From Alfheim to Midgard and continue just like that.
From one realm to another until in Niðavellir, I saw a shining object in the ground. Curious, I flew down to see what it is. After close enough to the ground, I can finally see what it is, a beautiful spear in cruciform, a long regal blue and black shaft, and a double-edged black blade. It has large black hilts and a well-ornate gold pattern; the spear at least has a total length of well two-and-a-half meters.
Lying in the ground, without doubt, it's must be a divine level item or even a world item. As I pick it up, I got a notification from the game, {~CONGRATULATION~. You Just Find One of the Twenty Strongest World Item, the Holy Spear: Longinus}... I blink twice with a dumbfounded expression, "wtf...ha...ha...hahaha..." there's nothing I can do other than let out a bland laugh, "the Dev is really an asshole, a lot of players willing to sacrifice anything to find one World Item. Especially one of the Twenty, and now I find it just like this, just a few minutes before the game closing," I sighed and saved the item in my inventory.
I guess it's their way to show their gratitude for any players who still online to the last minute, it's still annoying of them to doing this now, though. "but thanks to this, now World Searcher have another World Item in our collection".
I continue my random walk(fly). After one hour of my little adventure, I decided to come back to Asgard.
"23.53, huh... I still have seven-minute before the server shut down... I wish I have more time." But seven-minute is enough to see the guild for the last lime, I open the [gate] and teleport to Niflheim: the World of Fog and Mist.
While it's true Charlesolute only poses a few World Item compare to other guilds, but doesn't mean the guild is poor just like the rumored, we have mountains worth of gold and countless low-tier and mid-tier items to create a high-class item, or we can just sell them to NPC. We also have some rare divine items in our vault.
As I come out of [gate] there's nothing but fog and mist in my sight just as I expected, but even with this thick fog I flying with tremendous speed and easily dodges the massive tree, even after one month without login to Yggdrasil I still familiar with this area. After playing this game with the World Searcher for years, I know every part of YGGDRASIL like the back of my hand. I was most familiar with the Niflheim and Muspelheim realm.
After flying for a few seconds I finally able to see the guild base of World Searcher, hidden by fog is the flying dungeon, [The Floating Imperial City: Zhenotopia], a massive flying fortress with a beautiful garden at the top of the dungeon and an ancient Greek temple at the center as the entrance to the dungeon for the members. The dungeon is shielded with two layers of strong barriers, the outer layer is created by the members and an inner unbreakable natural barrier from the game's system with a big tunnel connected to the lowest floor of a dungeon for the enemy or non-member to enter the dungeon when guild war happen.
Other than underground, underwater, and flying dungeons there's also a lot of other types of dungeons in YGGDRASIL, but flying dungeon is always one of the most popular types among the players, and there are only twenty flying dungeons in YGGDRASIL.
"As always, she is so beautiful... I still have six-minute before the game end. I'm sure the other won't be angry at me for doing whatever I want with this Fortress for the last six-minute, right?" Arah teleport to the meeting room for the World Searcher members, it's basically just a meeting room fit for the royalties with a luxurious giant oval table and chairs for the members, there's also a lot of gold decorations on the wall.
Behind the Guildmaster's chair is where a flying gold crown kept, {Crown of Omniscience}, a guild item and the symbol of the guild that only Guildmaster can wear. The crown itself is beautiful with a majestic aura around it. The main materials to make this item was the {YGGDRASIL Leaf}, one of the World Item with massive defense effect, and {Authority of Kingdom}, the item that the guild gets for completing the dungeon, and the other item divine items as the side materials including {Nine Elementals Orbs}.
Around the crown there are small nine jewels with different colors as decoration, the name itself is referring to the Charlesolute members who know a lot of knowledge of YGGDRASIL compare to the other players.
Other than giving a massive buff and protection to the user, the crown also has a lot of other functions as absolute control of the dungeon, summoning the elementals monsters, and access to edit the NPC setting without permission or penalty. This item can also fuse into one with other items like a helmet and hat. Arah picks the crown and put it in his head. He thinks of moving the dungeon to Asgard, "it's not like anyone going to attack me in the last six-minute, right?".
One of the biggest advantages of the Flying dungeon is that the guild can move it easily, usually, it will take a lot of gold to change the location of the dungeon, but for the flying dungeon it will not take gold but the mana of the players to move it. And since there's already an item to control the dungeon, Arah didn't even waste a bit of his mana to move the dungeon.
"And now it's done," it takes four minutes for the Fortress to pass the [gate] to Asgard.
I decided to teleport to outside the Dungeon to see it under the bright moonlight. "she even more picturesque under the moonlight, it such a waste to keep her in Niflheim where the sun or moonlight can't pass-through".
After satisfied with my work I decide to come down and laying on the ground beside the lake, "one minute before the game end huh, somehow it feels sad... ahh, tomorrow I need to check if that annoying client accepts the commission or not... hahhh... I don't want to work, so sleepy... too lazy to log out... Nah, it's not like it's the first time I sleep while still wearing my NNI anyway, ...20 seconds before the server down...well, Goodbye YGGDRASIL... it's been a hell of a ride" I close my eyes and sleeping without knowing something much bigger is happening to me instead of auto log out.

As I rose from my slumber, I am first aware of the coolness of the air and its loamy fragrance, there's a lot of birds singing around me, the grassland is so comfy. I wonder if I'm still dreaming; I sit up to take the warm morning sun, it's been a while since I sleep this well. the birds sing is so relaxing to hear, the grassland so pleasant to sit, and the warm morning sun is so pleasant to my body, combine it with the cold morning air, it's just too perfect, 'this situation is just begging to be enjoyed, time for the second sleep I guess... sleeping while still sleep haha'. I lie back down again on the ground and close my eyes, but even after trying for a while, but it's really hard to sleep again... aaaahhhh! why can't I sleep again, usually it was so easy I don't even need a second to sleep after I close my eyes.
As I sat up again I began to notice just how absurd this situation is, I can smell the surrounding flower, I can feel the morning air around my skin, something that should be impossible in a dream, 'this is a dream, right?'.
I try to pinch my hand. Hard, hard enough until I tore my own skin, "AAARRGGHHH! What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck." I look at my bleeding hand and realize it's actual blood, "what the fuck?!".
I felt the panic begin like a cluster of spark plugs in my abdomen, my heart pounding loudly in my chest, my whole body is shaking, as my breathing getting harder, my vision getting blurry, everything just doesn't make any sense, the panic continues for a few seconds until a green light suddenly appears around me after the light is gone, I don't know why, but I suddenly feel relax again as if I'm not just experiencing a panic attack in the first place a few second ago.
"hahh...hahh...hahh," trying to control my breathing. This continues for a few minutes before I am completely calm. "it's not hurt anymore, and the bleeding is stopping". I look at the torn skin on my hand. "calm, calm. First, what is exactly happening here? I remember I'm sleeping near the lake in Asgard in YGGDRASIL." I stand up and look around me to see if there's a lake near me, and true there's a lake near me, I walk to the lake to see my reflection, as I look at the water reflection what I see is not my face but Arah's face, the character that I create in-game... WTF, I feel panic come to me again but before it's getting worse like before, the green light suddenly appears once more around me and makes me calm again.

After wondering for a moment I decided to concentration my mind and try to summon my sword, after a while the sword appear instantly in my hand, smiling at the sword I try to swing it just to surprise by how light the sword is despite its large size after I satisfied playing with the sword I decide to check my other equipment.
After I have done check my equipment, I'm glad that I still have all my items with me, even the guild item {Crown of Omniscience} and the other world item.
I wonder what I should do now, 'Should I search for a way to come back to my world? Or should I start a new life in this world as Arah... the dull world that I live before where nature is damaged beyond repair and killed all the outdoor activities, or the new world where magic is real and nature is still alive?... hmm... well, the answer is easy, sorry the old me but I'm going to start a new life in this world as Arah Auntyr Dragonika... it's not like anyone going to miss me if I'm gone. 'after all the only family I had, my grandma and grandpa already passed away a long time ago'.
First thing first, I need to know just what I capable of, I stand up and stretching my muscle after I have done stretching my body I bring my right hand up with my middle and index finger-pointing and the rest of my fingers clenching, I close my eyes and take a deep breath... exhale and open my eyes, then I chant, "[Lightning]," a streak of pure white thunder roaring from the tip of my fingers. Holy... that was "...amazing, who would have thought a simple tier-three magic would be this awesome in the real world".
Magic is done, now, time to test my physical power, "in-game World Enemy is strong enough to destroy a city with just one attack." I need to control my power since I don't want to attract something in this world, the world that I know nothing about.
'Not too strong, but not too weak either,' I take my stance and prepare to punch the air, I take a deep breath and "HAHH!."...*BOOM*...W.T..F..., the next thing I know is the forest that at least 20 meters away from me explode and there are huge craters on the way of my punch to the forest, but that is not where my concern is, there's a small scream from the forest that I just destroyed, well... shit, not even one hour to the new world and I already kill people.
But it's strange that I'm not sensing a person near me considering now I have dragon senses with me, ' . . . Argghh!, I think that for later. First, I need to check if they were still alive or not.' After close enough I'm finally able to see the person, a small girl with grayish hair that reaches her neck, she has pointy ears, there's also magic staff laying near her. She wears a plain-white wool shirt, black trousers, and simple brown sandals. Over the shirt, she wears a pretty, finest dark hooded cloak with a purple lining around the edges. The difference in quality between the robe and the rest of her clothes is completely on a different level.
Currently, she is unconscious with bruises here and there on her body, probably because of the Shockwave of my punch, even without checking her pulse or breathing I know that this girl is still alive because I can hear her breathing from where I'm standing Right now. I decided to heal her first, "[Full Recovery]," the pure white light appears covering her entire body and curing her wounds, even after all her wounds are gone she still not wakes up.
"mmm... should I just leave her like this or wait till she wakes up?" I murmured... hmm... Nah, waiting for her to awake is the best option for now, I can ask this girl about this world and why she is in here, besides this girl is obviously not normal human, from the shape of her ear looks like and the fact she also has a magic staff with her.

I opened my eyes slowly, allowing them to adjust to the blinding light coming from above sunlight that passes through the tree leaves and falls across my face. I sit up and rub my knuckles onto my eyes, stretching my arms above my head and yawning, after I finished stretching my body I noticed the warm blanket on my feet, looking back to the place where I was just sleeping a few second ago and true there's a big pillow laying on the ground, I grab the pillow and realize how soft this pillow is, the softest pillow I ever feel in my life... what is happening to me?
"Hey you, you're finally awake?" I yelped, startled by the sudden voice beside me, I turn my body to see the one who called me and when I see him, finally I remember everything what exactly did happen to me before I lost my consciousness.
A tall man standing not too far away from me with an unnatural beauty and attractive face, he dressed in high-quality and elegant clothes, from the glorious black robe and white sash warped around it that he wore to the leather black shoes that protected his foot, a common trait only a noble would have. He has flawless of fair pale white skin with no blemishes, and finally, the most notable feature of him is his clean white hair with some of silver effect on it remind me of white cloud and snow, his hair moved much as soft grass in the breeze wind, proof of how smooth his hair is, and last is his deep crimson-red eyes, staring straight at me, there's some relieved emotion in his blood like eyes when he looks at me, probably because I'm awake now.
He walks in my direction and stopping when he just a few steps away from me, "how is your body? The injuries on your body are already gone, but just to make sure you're completely alright." I take a quick check on my body and after I've done a check on my body, I give him a small nod, he smiles at my gesture, "well, that's good... here," he offered me a grilled fish with a stick and brown sauce glazed it.
I'm hesitating to receive food from a stranger, but the empties on my stomach is begging to fill them. Besides, this man, even after seeing what he is capable of, I don't feel any unpleasant feeling from him rather there's some strange but gentle warm aura coming from him erasing all of my doubt of him.
finally, I grasp the stick and thank him, "thank you," I murmured.
"no problem..." he replied as he sat beside me.
I take a small bite of the fish; I am surprised at how delicious this grilled fish is, it's the most delicious food I've ever tasted before. It had a rich and homey feel to it, I began to eat the fish greedily, only to stop when there's nothing but the bone and head of the fish.
Embarrassed by my actions I look at him to see his reaction to my bad manners, but he simply smiled at me and offer me another one, "no need to hold back yourself, I catch a lot of fish while waiting for you to wake up," he pointed at the small bonfire with his thumb to where he grills the fish is, I accept the offer and ate again, but more slowly and carefully this time.

What is this..? I stared at the gold cup and purple liquid inside it. Where is he get these things, anyway?
'it's not actual gold, right?... Who exactly is he?'... don't tell me he actually is noble? Or even a king. I take a small sip and just like the fish I ate before, it also tastes so divine on my mouth. "... well, then. Since we already fill our stomach, we can talk now." He suddenly said.
"How about we start with introductions? My name is Arah Auntyr Dragonika, what about you, little miss?" what a strange name and he is calling me little miss, annoying.
"My name is Merlin Ambrosius and I'm not a little miss, I'm male," I said with a bit of irritation at how he mistakes me as a girl... but well, It's not like I can't blame him, though. After all, everyone I meet always mistakes me as a girl, with how my appearance looks like.
He seems to think about something before a surprising look took his face with how his eyes bulged and mouth gaped open... "uh... Sorry, but I didn't quite catch what you just said. Can you say that again?" He finally asks me again after he composed himself.
"I'm male..." I complied him, "no, no. Not the latter, that's still shocking, but I'm asking about your name." hmm... what about my name that makes him so surprised like this, "My name is Merlin Ambrosius." I tell him again.
Just like before, he looks really surprised at my name, and his mouth slowly formed a small smile. His eyes were filled with excitement, a mixture of curiosity and passion, with an almost unnoticed of desire.
"Can you tell me about yourself more?!" he suddenly asked me again after a while, this alerts me, why someone is so curious about me, I slowly reach to my staff, but alas he notices my gesture as his eyes follow where my hand is, "ahh... sorry, I don't have any ill intent to you, I just want to know more about you and this world, that's all." He waves his hands in panic.
'this world?'
"what did you mean by that?" I stare at his eyes, "ahh... it's a long story, but I will tell you if it's mean I will earn your trust".

"Uhh... so let me get this straight, are you saying you come from another world?" I ask him"Yes, I am!"
"and that world is YGGDRASIL?" I ask him again. He nods at me, "so you from the Norse faction?"
"Norse faction?... Can you tell me about this world and all the factions in here?" he asks me with great enthusiasm. His eyes are shining bright, I swear I can even see a sparkle of stars from his eyes. It reminds me of little children when they see snow for the first time.
"Ahem... let me correct my words... it's not, "I'm not from this world" but "I'm not from this universe". For some unknown reasons I come to this universe," he corrects himself... It's still hard to believe but I can tell he's telling the truth, from his enthusiasm and his genuine curiosity about this world. I take a big gulp at my drink, and so I decided to tell him all the information about this world and any factions that I know.

"... And the last is the Biblical faction led by God of the bible, but they are still in the middle of a war, it's a three-way war between Heaven, Hell, and the Fallen Angel." I finish my long lecture, standing like a teacher while he sits still and listens carefully to my explanation. This man that claims to come from another universe.
"hoo... that's amazing, about the Biblical faction... how long have been the war between the three of Biblical factions is going on anyway?" he asked me, I bring my hand to my chin in a thinking pose, "hmm... I don't know, I think it's been more than hundreds of years, I guess". I answer him, he is just humming to himself at my answer.
"Then, what about humans? Is there any adventurer guild or something around here?" his question confuses me, adventure guild? What is that, "umm what?"
He blinks twice at me as if I'm the one who said strange things in here, "you know adventurer guild, a place where adventurer, magician like you, and the others get a job or something..." his description just confuses me even more.
"Sorry, but I don't understand what you are talking about. I don't know about the adventurer, but not all humans can use magic in this world." I tell him. He looked kind of... disturbed at my answer. "Are you serious? Then, what about you, how come you have magic staff with you?" he pointed his finger at my magic staff, "well, it's because I have unique a heritage, I'm half incubus".
He keeps silent and humming a little, not freaked out a little bit by my heritage at all. That was new, I thought people will be disgusted by my heritage.

I guess that means the items from YGGDRASIL still have the same effect in this world. After getting at least twenty fishes now it's time to cook the food, medieval style of course. A bonfire with the impaled fish circling around it. But that sound so plain, do I have spice or something in my inventory.
After searching for a while in my inventory, I found a small traditional jar made of clay with a pleasing aroma coming from its filling. I remember I get this item from one of the events in YGGDRASIL. I open the lid to see what inside the jar, what I see is a thick brown sauce that looks like something that only a five-star chef would use. The liquid is shining, reflecting the sunrays; I dip my fingertip and put it in my mouth to taste it, hmm... taste fine I guess... okay, scratch that it tastes awesome, too awesome actually, what the hell is this... this is the first time I'm taste something like this, if this is what that rich people taste every time they eat that small portion gourmet food, I understand why they spend so much money just for one spoon worth of food.
I take the sauce and coating the fish with it and put them around the bonfire, now I just have to wait until it's cooked.
