I don't own Naruto or Highschool DxD.
Chapter 1
"You, you bastard!"
"Just you wait, Oni of the West, we will get you for this next time."
"Ah! My ribs! I think he must have broken a few with that kick of his."
Looking at the pathetic excuse of Karate Club members sprawled on the ground, Naruto clicked his tongue and sighed for the umpteenth time that day.
What with my luck today? Why do I keep running with these people the whole day? Can't a guy get some break?
Standing a solid height of 180 cm, he towered over most, if not all, kids of his age group. He wore dark-blue pants, an orange t-shirt with a fox picture on it. He left his dark-blue blazer opened, displaying his orange t-shirt with only half of it tucked into his pants.
On the left side of his jacket, he had the insignia of a flower surrounded by four lines, completely enclosing it from all sides.
Ivy Public School.(1)
That's the name of the school he was attending.
A school famous, not for its nut job students, low-quality teachers, and dilapidated campus, but for a different reason.
That would be its proximity to Kuoh Academy, an all-girls school that turned co-ed just recently.
As its name suggests, an all-girl school was like a forbidden flower garden that roused the 'seeker' spirit inside young males of not only nearby schools but also from nearby towns.
Rumor had it that if one can conquer this school, they can get access to the forbidden garden.
Uzumaki Naruto sighed again before setting his blue eyes on the well-built man who laid closest to his feet.
"You know," he sounded miffed as well as exasperated. "If you people want to look for the girls of Kuoh Academy, then just do so. Why must you make it a routine to come and bother me every day?" His eyes twitched, recalling all those people who came looking for him for the past week.
On a usual day, he would have enjoyed a good fight, beating his rivals black and blue and relishing in the feeling of violence.
His title was Oni for a reason, after all.
However, with what happened a week ago, he was just not in the mood.
Unconsciously, he put his right hand over his left chest and winced, feeling phantom pains on that spot.
What the fuck she spouted that night? Servant! Like hell, this Uzumaki will ever be anyone's servant!
Recalling that red-head girl's smug words gave Naruto the urge to beat someone up again. His brows twitched as he recalled their conversation.
['You are no longer a human. In fact, you have stopped being one since yesterday.']
['Then, what am I?']
['You are now a devil. I used one of my Mutated Pawns Pieces to resurrect you. You are now a servant of the house of Gremory and belong to me, this Rias Gremory. Be thankful, human.']
['What? Servant! I don't want to be some servant. How dare you do that to me? It would have been better if you just let me die.']
['Watch your tone, human. If it's not for Asia's pleading to save you, you think I would have even bothered? You are just a mere human with no specialties to speak of. If I have to be blunt about it, I would say a valuable piece was wasted on you.']
Yeah, not the best conversation he had in his eighteen years of life.
To a prideful person like Naruto, Rias's blunt words poked where it hurts. Sure he wanted to retaliate and make her take back what she said.
But….
After testing first-hand what her power was like, he was forced to abandon that line of thought.
Needless to say, he had never been defeated that badly before.
It's been a week since that day and Naruto was slowly coping with his status as a devil. Of course, neither Rias nor any of her other servants, friends, as she claimed them to be, had shown up yet. Not even Asia came to visit him anymore.
Naruto felt both worried and lonely.
He missed the gentle blond girl and her kind smile even though she was a devil back then.
Tch, she is nothing like that redheaded slut!
Naruto bit his lips and hurled a curse at his supposed 'king' as she claimed her to be.
"Damn you, Oni of the West!"
Naruto's blue eyes shifted towards the man who uttered his name. The well-trained, white-gi-wearing man was rolling together with others that came with him to show their strength and 'take him down' as they declared before the start of this bout.
"Shut up! You are defeated. Fuck off and never show your ugly mugs in this part of the town again." Naruto snarled as he glared at the man. Turning around, he started to walk away as his voice came floating towards his defeated opponents. "If I see you again here, don't blame me if I send you to hospital."
"hiik!"
The four Karate Club Members took in deep breaths as a strange squeak escaped their lips.
They vowed in their hearts to never cross this Oni again. At least, not with only four of them. This Oni really deserved his title.
…
Having lost all motivation to go back to his school, Naruto decided to hit the arcade. With all the games in there, it might help him take his mind off.
The nearest arcade, as well as the place Naruto often frequents, SeGu's Interactive Entertainment, had very few people inside when Naruto entered. Well, it can't be helped as the schools had yet to close for the day.
90% of this arcade's customers were students of the nearby schools. Hence, until 5 PM, this place will be empty.
It suited Naruto best for his current mood.
Just as he entered the place, his eyes fell upon the punching machine sitting idly on one of the corners. The machine was very unpopular as kids would rather spend time in the stuffed toy-grabbing game than waste their coins on this seemingly useless contraption.
Naruto walked up to the device and inserted a coin into the socket. It came to life instantly as the lights around it glowed and the display screen activated.
Taking in a deep breath, he clenched his fist and glared at the device. Suddenly, with a quick movement of his feet, he closed in and delivered a perfect uppercut to the bag hanging from the top.
999+
The screen lit up, displaying a perfect score.
As expected…
Naruto sighed with a small smile tugging on his lips. Before he became a devil(although he yet to see any devilish properties in his body), his punch could only score 600, which was impressive considering his age and figure.
Now, his punch could even make a hole in a leather sandbag, let alone scoring perfect numbers on this machine.
It was not only his strength, his speed, reflex, and even his durability had improved by leaps and bounds overnight. It was too surreal for him to believe.
These are the only changes I had after my transformation.
Rias hastily left after he woke up and had their small spat. She looked worried and angry at the same time. Naruto would be lying if he said he didn't take pleasure in whatever misery she was in at the moment.
He may be a delinquent, but he wasn't dumb. He did an extensive search on devils over the internet and came across many interesting results.
First, the term 'God' is a taboo word for him.
Forget speaking, even listening to it gave him an extreme headache.
Second, anything holy would be fatal to him. That includes crosses, holy waters, and other similar things.
Third, he can now use magic. Well, devil version of it, but magic nonetheless. Though, he hadn't found a way to tap into this magic present in his body at the moment.
Naruto spent a whole afternoon in the arcade before deciding to call it a day.
His apartment was just a few blocks away from the arcade. Usually, he would walk there alone. On special occasions, he would hitch a ride with one of his 'followers' who owned bikes of their own.
He had been avoiding all his so-called followers for a week already. Therefore, walking back was the only option left for him. Naruto didn't bother with going back to school and retrieve his bag. He knew someone else must have already done that for him.
It's too quiet…
Naruto noticed the oddity.
However, he didn't have to wonder for long as the cause of this strange oddity revealed himself not long after he noticed it.
A priest!
Naruto's heart began to beat rapidly. The hairs at the back of his neck stood up, and sweat began to pour from his forehead.
He was a devil, and his follower was a priest.
It was clear as the day that he was there for him.
"Stop! You devil scum!" The man shouted. Naruto didn't stop. He doubled his walking speed, trying to get away from the man as fast as possible.
"I said to stop didn't I?"
One moment, he heard the man's voice next to his ears, and the very next moment, he found himself kissing the wall to his left.
Ack!
Naruto grunted before standing up while holding the wall for support. Cradling his left cheeks to ease the pain he felt before, his blue eyes scanned at the man warily as he tried to analyze his opponent.
Stood before him in the form of his opponent was a man around six feet in height, a kind face with wrinkles on them and a baldhead with small white tufts here and there. He looked to be a man around his late forties.
So old, yet so strong! How? Do priests also have access to some sort of supernatural power?
Naruto wondered if it was this magic thingy he read on the internet.
"Who are you?"
Naruto asked while trying his hardest to not show his nervousness to the old man out for his blood.
However, the priest wasn't any newbie. He smelled Naruto's fear from miles away.
"I don't feel like answering to a devil scum!"
A tick mark appeared on Naruto's forehead. Gritting his teeth, he forgot about his situation and pointed his index finger at the priest.
"Old man! Who are you calling a scum? You think becoming a devil was my choice?"
