Oh boy. I'm having to rewatch Infinity War for this fic, which is a movie I have avoided since first seeing it in theaters. Why? Because I don't want to see Spider-Man's death any more than I have to.
Song of the Chapter: He Won't Come Out by Alan Silvestri
I own nothing but the story.
Spider-Man was swinging through New York as he did everyday. Life was going great!
When the X-Men came, there was a bit of a problem as to what they did with the mansion/compound, since it was both the Avengers' and the X-Men's home, but in the end, they decided to share it. It was a bit new, but Peter had a good time with the children there.
A couple days after, he found Johnny Storm with three others. They had been in space while the universes were merging, and got hit by cosmic rays. It resulted in them getting superpowers. After they had gotten some help from Mr. Stark, they had started calling themselves the Fantastic Four and became a team like the Avengers.
Though, a negative thing was that the other Peters were exposed as Spider-Man, and were still dealing with the world knowing that it's them behind the mask in their own universe.
M.J. was doing great as Spider-Woman, and was stopping crimes on a daily basis after changing her costume up a bit.
He stopped swinging and landed on a building. It was crazy to think how a couple months ago, he was having a hard time convincing Mr. Stark that he was ready to deal with the big bad guys. Now, he had fought an alien symbiote and six big bad guys at once!
Suddenly, his Spider-Sense went off. He looked up and saw a big, donut-like spaceship floating down.
"Uh oh," he said. He leapt off the building and swung to the ground. People were screaming and running from whatever was exiting the ship. He made sure people were safe before swinging over to the scene.
What he saw was some guy who looked kind of like Voldemort with a big alien guy. He was fighting against Mr. Stark, some man in a cloak, a man with the man in the cloak, and someone who looked like their body was entirely silver. He had a silver surfboard.
The big alien threw some sort of hammer on a chain at Mr. Stark, and he landed in the park. He leapt in and then caught the hammer when the alien tried to hit him again. "'Sup?"
"Kid, what are you doing here?" Mr. Stark asked.
"Thought you could use some help!" Spider-Man said. Suddenly, the alien threw him off his hammer. "What is this guy's problem, Mr. Stark?"
"Uh, he's from space, and he came here to take a necklace from a wizard."
"Sounds awesome," Spider-Man said, shooting a web at a car and throwing it at the alien. Suddenly, something flew by, with the silver guy flying after it on his surfboard. "There's the wizard. Go get him."
Spider-Man nodded, and chased after the wizard. "Hey!" he said when he caught up to the surfer guy. "Who are you?"
"I am Norrin Radd, otherwise known as the Silver Surfer."
"Cool," he said. He shot a web at the man who he figured was the wizard to get him out of his bindings, but the guy who looked like Voldemort pointed behind at him and a chunk of a building was thrown at him.
"Whoa!" he said.
Something caught it, and it was thrown aside. He looked behind him and saw the other Web Warriors. "Hey guys!"
"What do these guys want?" M.J. asked, avoiding some debris that Voldemort threw at them.
"They want to steal this wizard's necklace!" Spider-Man said, pointing at the wizard.
"For real?" Miles asked.
Voldemort threw another building chunk, only this time it hit them. Overhead, they saw people zooming over. It was Johnny, his sister, and some of the X-Men. He recognized Cyclops' lasers, the ice that had to belong to Iceman.
Something picked up the chunk that trapped them, and they saw Venom. "Hey!" Venom said, throwing it aside.
"Thanks," Spider-Man said, swinging after Voldemort. "Hey man!" Spider-Man said to Iceman. The two had become friends a bit after the universes merged. "How's it going?"
Iceman laughed a little. "Swell!"
"How about you, webs?" Johnny asked him.
"Just peachy!" he said.
Spider-Man shot a web at the wizard and got him out this time. He started swinging away, but suddenly was covered in a blue light. M.J., Johnny, his sister, and the X-Men there got caught in it, and he said "Mr. Stark, we're getting beamed up!"
He shot a web and got out of the beam. He crawled onto the outside of the ship and realized that they were getting higher fast.
"Kid, you gotta let go."
"But you said to save the wizard, and M.J. 's on there!"
"We're too high up, you're gonna run out of oxygen."
He took off his mask. "Yeah, that makes sense," he breathed.
His vision started getting blurry, and he was struggling to get air. He fell off, and in the air, he was hit by something in the back. He felt something covering his body. It was a nice feeling. Then he realized it was nanotech. He looked at himself and saw that he was wearing the suit that Mr. Stark had shown him after he beat the Vulture.
"Mr. Stark, it smells like a new car in here!" he said.
"Alright, happy trails, kid," Mr. Stark said.
A parachute came from the back of the suit, but he shot a web and caught himself.
"Kid, what're you doing?"
"I can help!" Spider-Man said, crawling inside. "And I'm not going anywhere!"
Mr. Stark flew in behind him, and said "Kid, this is a one-way trip. You've got to leave while you still can, this is space."
"It isn't a one-way trip if I make it back," Spider-Man said, "and did I stutter?"
He felt something tap his shoulder and looked to see the wizard's cloak, floating in the air. "You're some nice clothing," he said.
"You got any ideas?" Mr. Stark asked.
"Yeah," Spider-Man said. "Have you ever seen this really old movie called Aliens?"
He told Mr. Stark his friend, and he nodded, jumping down to where Voldemort, the wizard, and the others were.
" … Could end your friend's life in an instant," he heard Voldemort say.
"Gotta tell you, he's not my friend," Mr. Stark said. "Saving his life is more of a professional courtesy."
Voldemort started making things float with his hands. "You've saved nothing. Your powers are inconsequential compared to mine."
"Yeah, but the kid's seen more movies."
He shot a missile behind him, and he flew out. Spider-Man jumped down just as the wizard and the others were getting sucked out, and shot webbing, grabbing them all. He pulled them all back in, and Mr. Stark shot something that covered up the hole. He laid on the ground for a minute. That was a lot of people.
He saw the X-Men who were with them now to be Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Shadowcat.
"Cool suit," Johnny told him.
"Thanks," he said.
"We have to turn this ship around," the wizard said.
"Yeah, let's run," Mr. Stark said. "Great plan."
"We have to protect the stone," the wizard said.
As the two argued, Spider-Man went over to M.J. "You alright?"
She nodded, taking off her mask. "Yeah. I'm fine."
"Listen, Strange, Thanos has been in my head for years," Spider-Man heard Mr. Stark say. He didn't pay attention to the rest of the conversation because it was quieter after that and didn't want to enhance his senses at the moment, but decided to try and talk to the wizard later.
"Alright, everybody, listen up," Mr. Stark said, getting everybody's attention. "We're about to go to a different planet to fight someone called Thanos. Any questions?"
Nobody did.
"Alright, good."
The wizard went off somewhere, and Spider-Man followed him.
"Yes, Mr. Parker?" he said.
Spider-Man's mask went down thanks to the nanotech and he said "Are you Doctor Stephen Strange?"
"Yes, why?" Dr. Strange asked, a bit annoyed.
Peter hesitated before saying "Do you know about someone called the One Above All?"
Dr. Strange looked up suddenly, interested. "The One Above All is an entity responsible for the existence of everything. How do you know about them?"
"Okay, so, like, a week or two ago, I had a dream. And in it, I was in some sort of web. There was a person in the web who called themselves the One Above All. He called the web the Web of Life and Destiny. He told me that something was coming, something that could destroy everything. He said it was a family that feeds on people like me. After, something with red eyes attacked, and they told me that the conversion was happening and then I'd have allies. Right before it ended, he told me to look for you."
Dr. Strange looked at him. "I think I have an idea of what's coming, but I'll have to check once we get back to Earth."
"What do you think is coming?"
Dr. Strange stared at him right in the eyes. "The Inheritors. Interdimensional beings who feed on animal totems. But they only feed on spider totems."
