Forever Changed 3: Brotherly Bonds

Ch 1 History Repeats Itself

Deep beneath the streets of New York four mutant turtles were training with a mutant rat and a human girl. These turtles were Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael and they were training with their master/father Splinter and their sister Miwa. "Yeme!" Splinter cried out, banging his walking stick on the ground. "That is enough for today my children. The five siblings stopped training and went to kneel before Splinter. "I am proud of all of you my children," the wise old rat said as we walked back and forth between his children. "I am especially proud of you Donatello. You have really strengthened your skills my son."

"Thank you Sensei," Donatello said with a bow. "But I really don't think I've done anything special."

"Dude are you kidding?" Michelangelo cried out. "You nearly died D. I don't think that I would have been able to come back from that."

"You're not a strong as Donnie," Leonardo muttered under his breath. The oldest turtle hadn't meant for anyone to hear his comment but Michelangelo, who was kneeling right next to him heard him.

"Dude are you calling me weak?" the youngest turtle demanded, the annoyance clear in his voice.

"I didn't say that Mikey," Leonardo shot back. "I was just saying that not everyone is as strong as Donnie is."

"Oh and I suppose you are?" Michelangelo shot back.

"Guys please don't fight," Miwa pleaded, knowing that over the past few days Leonardo and Michelangelo had been bickering. Usually it was Raphael was the one the oldest turtle fought with but lately he had been going at it with his orange masked brother.

"Yeah you guys should really leave the angry outbursts to me," Raphael said, trying to lighten the mood. Leonardo and Michelangelo both glared at their red masked brother but neither one said anything. Instead they got up and stormed away.

"Well I guess that's the end of training," Donatello said getting to his feet. Suddenly an eerie feeling came over Donatello and he stopped dead in his tracks. "Whoa that's strange," the purple masked turtle whispered, closing his eyes and shaking his head.

"What's wrong Donnie?" Miwa asked.

"Not sure," was Donnie's response. "I just got a really strange feeling."

"About what?" Raphael asked, looking at his purple masked brother with concern. He remembered what had happened in the past when Donatello got these feeling and Raphael was concerned Donatello might get overwhelmed again.

"Again not sure," Donatello said. "Just a feeling. Hopefully its nothing." Then he noticed the look on Raphael's face. "Don't worry Raph," he said with a smile. "I'm sure it nothing."

"I wouldn't ignore these feelings if I were you Donnie," Miwa's good friends, Shinigami said, coming onto scene. "That could be a costly mistake."

"Well Shini its hard to act on feelings when you have no idea what they're about," Donatello said, sounding slightly annoyed.

"Well Donnie I can help you with that if you like," Shinigami said with a smile.

"It'll have to wait," Donatello said with a sigh. "I have to repair the Shell Raiser. Then the TV has been acting all weird so I've gotta fix that."

"Donnie you do to much," Shinigami pointed out.

"Well someone has to," Donatello snapped, his voice coming out rougher than he intended it.

"I can fix the Shell Raiser," Casey Jones said , coming onto the scene with the turtles' other good friend, April O'Neil right behind him.

"Yeah and I can help him," April offered.

"Thanks guys," Donatello said. "But I..."

"D you need to take it easy," Casey said.

"Yeah you're still recovering," April pointed out.

"Its been nearly a year since my attack you know," Donatello said, his voice having an edge to it.

"Yeah but you've only been able to move around on your own for a few weeks," Raphael pointed out.

"Yeah," Donatello said with a sigh. "You guys are probably right but..." But the purple masked turtle didn't get a chance to finish when they heard the sounds of shouting. Exchanging looks of concern the group headed into the living room, where the shouting was coming from.

"Dude you need to get off my back!" Michelangelo was shouting.

"No Mikey you need to act more responsible," Leonardo shot back.

"You know Leo you're acting like a real jerk bro," Michelangelo said. "I mean you've been on my case for over a week now. And today you call me not only weak but irresponsible too. You're not my father!"

"I never said you were weak Mikey," Leonardo said. "But I am your big brother and I'm just trying to help you."

"Dude I don't want you help," Michelangelo said. Then he turned towards Splinter and said, "Sensei help me out here. Tell Leo he doesn't have the right to boss me around all the time."

"I think," Splinter began. "That we need to have a talk Leonardo. And you should join us Michelangelo."

"Aw man," Michelangelo grumbled. "Do I have too? Leo's the one that really needs a talk not me."

"I feel that you both could benefit from this," Splinter said. "Now please come with me." With that Splinter left with Leonardo and Michelangelo right behind him.

"Man I'm glad I'm not the one in trouble," Raphael muttered.

"For once," Miwa muttered. Raphael shot his sister a glare and began to speak. But Donatello quickly put his hand on his red masked brother's shoulder.

"Uh Raph why don't you help me fix the TV?" the purple masked turtle asked, not wanting another fight to break out.

"Donnie you really should come with me," Shinigami said. "We need to..."

"Later Shini alright?" Donatello asked as he and Raphael walked into his lab.

"Ugh why won't Donnie just listen to me?" Shinigami grumbled, crossing her arms.

"He's frustrated Shini," Miwa said, putting her hand on her friend's shoulder. "He's been trying to play peacekeeper between Leo and Mikey lately."

"Yeah what's going on with them?' Shinigami asked. "I mean Mikey don't usually fight with people like that. Especially not Leo."

"Leo's been in his 'protective big brother' mode like in full force," Miwa said. "And for some reason he's been focusing on Mikey. And I think its getting on Mikey's nerves. I've tried to talk to Leo about it but he just brushes me off when I bring it up."

"That's Leo for you," Shinigami said, shaking her head.

"Feel up to some training?" Miwa asked.

"Sure why not?" Shinigami said with a shrug. With that the two friends headed into the dojo to do some training.

Meanwhile deep beneath the city trouble was brewing. A large, dark figure was plotting. "Damn that Tiger Claw," he was muttering as he worked. "Who the Hell does he think he is? I'll show him. I'll show them all. They'll rue the day they dismissed me." The man let out an evil laugh as he placed The Book of the Dead on the stone slab along with the staff. "Vengeance will be mine," he said, stroking the book. He walked over to another stone slab that was more like a large put. "Yes this is coming along perfectly," he cackled as he lifted the staff over the pit causing the staff to glow. Fire began to rise from the pit and it glowed a bright red. "Tiger Claw set his sights to low," he muttered. "He was so focused in raising the Shredder he didn't see the large picture. There are many evil spirits that I can unleash. Yes this will be my greatest victory. But I can't do thin alone. But as soon as my recruits arrive we will raise Hell." With that the man let out enough laugh as he awaited his minions arrival.

A/N well folks how'd you like the first chapter? Let me know in a review please.
