Chapter 1- The Birth of The Destroyer
Lupa was in deep thought as she stood by the coast of the sea. Normally, she would be in the Wolf House, however, she had been called here for a reason; an important one. She had arrived early in order to give herself time to think. She knew that this moment would be an important one, one that could change the course of history and the legacy of Rome itself. An opportunity like this hadn't been presented for a long time, since the rise of Rome in the early days and it could work in the favour of Rome or lead to its destruction.
Earlier, the queen of Rome, Juno Momenta, had informed her of the birth of the son of Neptune and that he'd be delivered to her later today. Had it been any other deity, she would'vebelieved it to be a joke but the Queen of the Heavens didn't really have a sense of humour. Neptune hadn't bore a child for a long time and the last descendant of Neptune allegedly caused the destruction of the original Roman Camp. They tended to be very powerful and destructive, dare she even say, more powerful than children of Jupiter or Pluto. Neptune being the middle child, had control over the vast seas and the storms, the domain of Jupiter, and the earth, the domain of Pluto.
She was brought out of her thoughts as the waves in front of her started to turn away, creating a path in the middle of the sea. In the middle walked a tall, beautiful woman with slightly green skin, carrying a young, sleeping child in her arms.
"Lady Salacia," Lupa said as the Queen of the Seas approached her. "I didn't expect to be seeing you here for this occasion,"
"I managed to convince Neptune to let me deliver the child. I wished to see him once before handing him over to you" replied Salacia
"Forgive me, but it is rather unusual for you to take such interest in your husband's children?" questioned the Mother of Rome.
"Normally, I do not, but this one seems special. He has an aura of greatness that I haven't seen yet. And perhaps, I want to partake in the growth of the child. I rarely have any demigods that I can guide and have for my bidding and who better than a child of my husband that I can help," came her response
Lupa studied the child. He seemed to be no older than 4 and had quite dark hair. He seemed to resemble his father, even at such a young age and had a powerful aura around him.
"What's his name?" Lupa asked
"Perseus Jackson. He's around 4 years old" replied Salacia. The destroyer Lupa thought. That seemed rather ominous, but not surprising, given his father.
"A Greek name?" Lupa asked
"At his birth mother's request," replied Salacia. "I will also be his patron, so I'll be watching over his progress over time" Salacia said as she handed Perseus to Lupa. Lupa glazed over the child as she took him.
"I must take my leave for now. I shall see you soon Lupa" Salacia said as she glowed and flashed away in a sea green light.
As Lupa studied the child, ideas came to her. Rome had many types of soldiers, leader and politicians that worked well when they were united. But individually, they weren't quite as skilled as they should be as opposed the half bloods of the Greek Pantheon. But for the first time in years, Lupa saw an opportunity. Perseus was the son of one of the most powerful deities of Rome. He could be what Rome needed. Lupa wasn't a fool. She had seen the stirrings that were rising in the bay of Mount Orthys. And Rome would need someone who was powerful enough to not just lead, but to work alone and disable the enemies from the inside by his lonesome. Perseus could be that.
Perseus Jackson would be the Guardian of Rome.
Author's Note: Hey this ismy first fanfic. This idea just struck me and I decided to start writing about the story of Perseus if he was born a Roman instead of Greek. Please leave a review and tell me what you think and any constructive feedback is welcome.
