Summary:
Everything is where nothing was...
Issei Hyoudou was given a second chance of finally having a choice of his own, this time with self awareness. Time-Travel, Issei/Harem, Slight Crossover with Lovecraftian Horror.
|Chapter 1: Formation for a new Past|
Issei Hyoudou,
A young "child" that was given a rather intriguing fate. However, most would argue that the boy was undeserving of said fate.
The child's story begins when he was introduced to an extremely horrible influence at a very young age. The influence's only purpose was to fill the child's mind with nothing but wrongful lust.
Because of this, it soon made him an outcast among his peers, making the child lonely and striving for the attention and acknowledgement of others. His peers were reasonably annoyed by this but his elders felt exasperated whilst also be amused by his antics.
They never felt the need to consult him on his acts because they considered him a bright and cheerful light in the world, something that made them laugh in their boring, repetitive and depressing lives. Although that didn't help the boy at all from his loneliness, he soon took solace with those who were very open about their sexual appetite.
Later in life, the boy was unknowingly turned into a slave of someone who couldn't find herself to understand that the world didn't revolve around her. The naive boy didn't notice the fact that he was unwillingly enslaved because the above mentioned influence forced him to only pay mention to the above mentioned someone's "assets".
Don't blame him for his ignorance, this was Fate's plan all along and it was smoothly all coming together.
At least it was for now….
The boy turned devil finds himself discovering a different part of the world, a one that he shouldn't have discovered in the first place…. but with an incredible power that most would envy.
Without any proper training and without much time, the boy was forced to battle against the worst the world of the supernatural could send his way….
Fallen Angels, Rogue Priests, High-Class Devils, Powerful Cadres, Magicians, Gods, Yokais, Dragons, Heroes, Satans and even the Emperor Beast of the Apocalypse.
And this was only in the first year of him discovering this mythical side of the world..
Most would argue that Fate would be at least kind enough to give that child a happy ending after that harrowing ordeal.
Wrong!
The boy now entering manhood was forced into battling even bigger threats like the Gods from a different world, a world that is known as Evie Etoulde with incredibly powerful enemies like Melvazoa or someone like Regalzeva, a God so powerful that he effortlessly was able to kill Great Red, one of the strongest entities in Issei's world known to the Evie and Etoulde Gods as Draconic Deus.
Issei now much more experienced, much more powerful and most importantly, much more determined was able to undermine the Evie Invasion by the help of his friends and those who felt threatened by the Evie Faction.
After going through several trials and tribulations, He with the help of the Etoulde Gods and the *Cough* Chosen Heavenly Breasts *Cough* was able to become as powerful as or even more so than a Pillar God of ExE.
With that power, he fought off the Evie Gods and put a stop to the invasion. Not only that but soon afterwards, he also managed to unseal the former leaders of the three factions from their eternal battle with Trihexa by forcing the beast to sleep and sealing it inside of himself.
Issei was finally free from battle and he decided to spend the rest of his days with the people he so cherished. His loneliness that left him in turmoil for so long had finally disappeared from him, fulfilling his existence once and for all.
Nevertheless that much power compressed into such a small body was able to garner the attention of a new faction, the most dangerous one in Issei's opinion.
This Faction was filled to the brim with horrible nightmares and atrocities that were known by the rest of the universe as the Other Gods or the Lovecraftians.
Knowing that he didn't have a choice in the matter, Issei spent the rest of his life fighting these atrocities. He was able to face those that no being from DxD could ever imagine themselves facing.
He forced himself to win every battle that he came across since the consequences would be too heavy for him if he ever were to lose.
However, Fate manages to show its cruelty one way or another as it slowly and one by one stole the people around him, the people who loved him and he loved them back, the people who gave him the meaning of his existence.
Issei after losing them all felt hopeless and lost altogether. There was no reason for him to be alive as he had lost his purpose, having lost everything he cared for, the ones he is supposed to love and protect.
A century of his existence went by, he knew that finally he was on his last legs but he still kept fighting because that is all he was left with, the ability to fight.
His battles with those who seeked to battle him were considered to be Legendary as he fought and defeated the likes of the Great Old Ones like Apocolothoth, Cthulhu, Atlach-Nacha, Gol-goroth and even cosmic entities like Shub-Niggurath and its father The Darkness.
But before he knew it, Issei met his match in an Overpowered Outer God called the Crawling Chaos, Nyarlathotep who was angered by the fact that one of his siblings was defeated by someone he considered to be puny. Needless to say, the fight was in Issei's opinion nothing but a one-sided massacre
The Dark One decimated him completely and after that poured his heart out on how ecstatic he felt whilst he was destroying Issei and then in the end, gleefully crushed the boy's heart by the grip of his hand at which the Red Dragon Emperor finally felt his life extinguished from existence.
This was the Fate that was bestowed on the child that is known as Issei Hyoudou.
This was where Issei was supposed to meet his end.
At least it was supposed to be….
But someone more powerful, more influential than Fate appeared. Someone that didn't have any restrictions placed upon herself and someone who also cared for the young boy that managed to exceed her expectations.
That someone was the Ouroboros Dragon, the Dragon God of Absolute Infinity, Ophis.
The Gothic Lolita made her way through the ruined area and pushed away the sand that had collected around the space she was crouched in front of.
She knew this was where the once dreadful scene took place, the space that is believed to be once a battlefield unlike any other.
It had been said that when Nyarlathotep and Issei battled here, the sands of time had boiled and the two combatants had torn the fabric of space asunder.
Running her fingers over the blackened glass-like substance she could see it wasn't just heresy.
Issei's demise was something that always kept the Dragon God awake from her sleep, it was wrenching for her hollow heart. A friend he said he was and indeed a great friend he was. He treated her not like someone to fear but like someone to cherish. She wished greatly that she could've helped him sooner but her own foolishness was once again her unbecoming.
It was because of her action that started Issei's tragedy. A combination of cause and effect as one would describe it.
She was the one that gathered the force that called themselves Khaos Brigade for her own purposes which was then later on exploited by the leader of the Qlippoth Faction, Rizevim Livan Lucifer who using her power unleashed Trihexa as well as declared war towards the Evie Etoulda which forced Issei to stop the Evie invasion as well as seal Trihexa within himself, gathering the attention of the Outer Gods, a force that Issei was highly unprepared for.
Now two years after Issei Hyoudou and the Crawling Chaos had battled and fought here, she'd found the site.
She could've found this a lot sooner if she wasn't preparing. Preparing to give the universe the biggest middle finger it could ever receive.
What she was going to attempt was most probably the dumbest, idiotic, reckless and the most fucked up stunt that any being in existence could do, a stunt worthy of gaining the salute of the Oppai Dragon.
She fixed her gaze at the surrounding areas and by using her powers, gathered the remnants of Issei's soul with just a swish of her arms. As the soul tried to restore itself above her palm, Ophis looked at it with an unhappy feeling inside her stomach as she discovered how broken Issei's soul truly was. She scanned the area to see if there were anymore remnants and after checking that they weren't any, she sighed.
Issei's soul was more damaged from his brawl with Nyarlathotep than she initially thought as there wasn't even the Boosted Gear attached to the soul anymore, she believed that the Sacred Gear was most likely destroyed alongside Issei's body.
Again using her power, She healed the soul to its max health and it now resembled a big blue glowing orb floating above Ophis's palm as before it looked like crimson tendrils desperately seeking some form of asylum.
She hummed in satisfaction as she looked at the orb, happiness flickered in her eyes as the soul gave a warm feeling very similar to when Issei sat her on his lap or when he pats her head. The Orb was shining and was pulsating with so much power that was equivalent to Trihexa or Great Red. It was unsurprising to her to be honest as Issei even without Ddraig was as strong as a Pillar God.
Now believing that it was the right time to put her plan into action, She took the glowing orb to a safe location. The safe location in question was the former home of the Red Dragon Emperor, the Hyoudou Residence. She bowed her head to pay respects and tiptoed her way to an underground room with the orb in tow.
The room she entered had hundreds of red magic circles carefully placed on top of another drawn on the floor. She put Issei's soul on the side and began tinkering with the intricate magical formula laced on the floor for final adjustments. As she finished with the formula, she puffed her chest with pride at her work.
In actuality, most of the calculations were already made by a certain perverted former Governor General of the Fallen Angels and Ophis just simply "borrowed" the formula for her own purposes. She knew that the laid back Fallen Angel wouldn't mind as she was doing it for a good reason.
It was at midnight when she activated the magical circles and she knew that she succeeded when she saw a stone frame appear out of thin air and inside that frame appeared the silhouette of someone that clearly resembled her form. Seeing this, for the first time in existence Ophis laughed in joy.
Her idea had merit after all….
Her past self blinked several times to her future self as if she was expressing her confusion and Ophis (Future) knowing what the other was thinking gave a barely noticeable smile before passing Issei's glowing soul to Ophis (Past).
Ophis (Past) took the orb with some hesitation from her future self and then glanced back and forth at both Ophis (Future) then the soul. Ophis (Past) knew that she was currently looking at her own self as she sensed the other having the aura of void and the feeling of nothingness around her.
"Integrate this soul inside a child named Issei Hyoudou and pass him this letter for me." Ophis (Future) said to Ophis (Past) as she gave her a letter.
The past self glanced at the letter and read the address written at the front before nodding.
After that the stone frame crumbled out of existence and all that was left in the room was Ophis.
"Now it's time for history to be rewritten" She muttered as she teleported herself thousands of feet above the ground staring straight at the moon.
"Indeed it will, Ophis-chan" a voice spoke from behind her and before he could speak any further, Ophis blew his head into smithereens.
"Why are you here, Godsworld?" She questioned with a blank tone but her voice was laced with power. Chuckles reverberated from the surroundings before the being's head regenerated from the stump.
"It was lonely in my palace, I actually wanted to have the last moment of my existence with some company, mind you." He said with some snark in his voice.
He resembled a humanoid figure with white messy hair that reached his shoulders, one black and one red eye, as well as a toned body figure. His outfit consists of a black coat with crimson lining as well as a grey blazer and a white shirt underneath it with a cravat tied around his neck. He wears black pants that have gun holsters attached to them as well as black boots similar of a italian gangster style suits. The only thing that distinguished him from humans though were the two pairs of long pointy horns protruding from his forehead.
Ophis laced her voice with even more power as she looked at her fellow omnipotent being "Godsworld, I demand the truth"
Godsworld started to sweat nervously as he looked at the dangerous Loli, he did what he usually did when faced with someone dangerous, playing the role of an idiot.
He mockingly sighed as he exclaimed "Such a shame! that a cute lolita look is wasted with a personality like that."
"Godsworld" Her voice thundered and the man in question instinctively winced as he stared at the Dragon God whose aura was casually throwing DIE! DIE! DIE! towards his way.
He raised his arms in a placate manner "Jeez! Calm down… Ophis-chan. I actually wanted to ask why you did that." This quietened down the Ouroboros dragon who slammed her mouth shut.
Godsworld continued on "Why did you go so far for something that you knew wasn't going to pay off well, at least for you that is"
At this, silence permeated for several minutes and the awkwardness was so thick that even the two started to see it. Ophis turned her head away and Godsworld could've sworn that he saw her with hues of red on her cheeks.
"Because he is my first friend." He heard her say and a shit-eating grin was able to find its place on the man's face.
"I may have heard that from somewhere, one can do anything with the power of friendship." He said
She just gave him another blank look "You have a horrible sense of humour, Godsworld."
He pouted to that "I truly did hear that from somewhere, Ophis-chan"
Ophis closed her eyes and then opened them to stare right at the abyss.
"Can you be quiet for a moment, I want my final moment to be met with silence."
Godsworld did what he was told, however his brain was contemplating what his next move would be. He glanced at Ophis from behind and smiled.
He was truly happy for the Dragon God. Gaining friendship from someone is not that easy when you are an all too powerful omnipotent being and from what he could sense from Ophis psyche, there may have been more than just feelings of friendship for the young hero.
Oh! He knew of Issei Hyoudou. That boy was a riot and one of the most entertaining entities he had ever watched. It was disheartening to see such a pure light fade so brutally like that.
He couldn't imagine what Ophis was feeling as it was her actions that started the young man's pathway towards certain destruction. He knew of only one way for him to help her.
"If you want, I could integrate your mind with your past self."
Ophis eyes widened and wooshed her head towards him in an instant making him flinch.
"Really?" She asked with such a hopeful gaze that it made the man calm down and smile.
"Yeah, I may not be strong but I do have some cool nifty powers."
"The cost?"
He waved his hands in dismissal "An year of hibernation at least, there aren't any consequences that I could think of."
"Do it"
"Of Course" He said and then snapped his fingers creating a loud bang as well as a flash of light. When the lights disappeared, She was nowhere in sight. Ophis was truly gone.
'She is going to be with her hero.' He thought to himself, priding himself that he manage to do one good deed in the end.
Godsworld looked above himself and his eyes widened by a slight margin. What he was witnessing was the beginning of the end, the fabrics of space were tearing themselves apart and the sands of time had all but stopped flowing.
"You really did give the universe the biggest middle finger, Ophis-chan. A Null Paradox, Man! the creator must be fuming up there."
He closed his eyes and waited. He could hear the faint screaming of the cosmos tearing itself apart. Godsworld's eyes didn't open even when he sensed the rushing arrival of Yog-sothoth to his location or when he sensed the Blind Idiot God going to slumber for one final time, accepting its end.
Thinking of them, Godsworld wanted to curse the Outer Gods. He and many others warned them not to attack DxD but their pride and complacent nature led everyone to the ultimate end.
Most of the stars have disappeared from the universe and all the Nexus like the Dimensional Gap have already been destroyed by the Paradox.
The abyss was approaching and it felt like the reality itself was being divided by zero.
"I hope Ophis-chan, that your dream will come true." He said.
And then the universe collapsed completely.
