This is a Gamer Story taking place in the World of One Piece. I assume that you have some basic knowledge about both of them.
Sunsera Island, North Blue
On a small island in one of the remote corners of the North Blue, a young man who just turned 18 years old sat near a cliff looking into the distance. A light breeze blew around him making his red hair flutter and hard to read the map he was holding.
'If I take this route then there is a chance I have to encounter a Sea King… not something I am too keen on doing. However, if I take the long road it will most likely take two weeks longer for me to reach Logster Island. This doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing… I need to gather some reliable crewmates. I guess I have to settle on the long road and see if I can gather some allies along the way… Luffy did it, so it can't be too hard.'
Skill Lv. Up! North Blue Geography Lv. (16/50) (17/50)
-Your general knowledge of the Locations of Islands in the North Blue
With a simple thought, I dismissed the pop-up, to which I go used to over the last year, and went back to studying my map. The geography of this world was so much different from what I was used to be. On this entire planet, there was only a single continent that traverses the entire world from north to south. This cut the two oceans which were already separated by another bizarre part of this world, the Grand Line, into a total of four seas. I have no idea how it was even possible for a world to have such a strange layout, but I guess that there are worse than that of 'One Piece' out there.
New Quest Alert!
Quest: You can't call yourself a captain until you have a crew. If you want to travel the six seas then you better get some reliable allies. Gather 10 crewmates to sail with you. Time Limit: Reaching the Red Line
Reward: 10.000 Exp, 100.000 Berry, 10 Skill Points, +10 Stat Points, and +2 Luck
[ACCEPT/DECLINE]
I whistled seeing the Reward. 'These rewards are pretty good… and I would have done that anyway.' With a smirk, I stood up and stretched for a bit. The [Quest] really will come in handy before I enter the 'Paradise', then amount Skill Points are nothing to laugh at, and even more so the Exp… with that I could Level Up several times. Then there is also the plus 2 Luck… which is something I see for the first time. Until now there was never a way for me to increase my Luck Stat.
I looked at the ocean which I would soon travel across as my hand scratched the back of my head. Then I started to slowly head back to the town looking around the area for what could possibly be the last time... ever.
'Today is the one-year anniversary if I remember correctly. Time sure flies by fast.'
My thought drifted slowly to what happened over the last year as I was walking back towards the town I lived in for the last year.
One minute I was gasping for air as everything around me grew darker while I was slowly sinking to the bottom of the ocean… or that's what I think happened. That part of my memories was rather hazy… but the memory of me washing up on the shore of this very island in the North Blue is rather clear. Coughing out all the seawater out of my lungs, barely holding onto life, and then seeing some strange anime trees isn't something you forget so easily. And then it got even stranger when a pop-up window appeared in front of your face which explained that I now was in possession of the powers of [The Gamer]… or rather a limited version of it. Yeah, this was rather an unforgettable day… and it became even more unforgettable after I ate a certain fruit.
The Questions 'Why me?' and 'For what reason?' did bother me for a couple of days? If the world of [One Piece] and [The Gamer] was real then what else was real? And more so, what could grant me the Power and sent me here? I didn't have a single clue… and after some time I stopped caring. I mean I had other stuff to take care of which were more important for my immediate survival.
After I figured out that I was in the world of [One Piece] I tried to figure out when exactly. I figured out that Luffy shouldn't have started his journey yet or at least wasn't on his way for that long. I know that the original… or rather the Shichibukai (Seven Warlords of the Sea) who were in power at the beginning of [One Piece] still were and are. This means that Luffy should have been to Alabasta yet. In the year I was living on this island I heard from a merchant that ever since the execution of the Legendary Pirate King Gol D. Roger, 21 years ago, the Sea Traveling has become tremendously more dangerous because of all the Pirates. However, that didn't really help me because I have no clue about the dates of events, nor exact years things happened.
I could have actively looked for all the bounties to see when Luffy would turn into a wanted man, but I didn't see why this should have to do anything with me. Also, the only constant information income was the Newspaper delivered by the New Coo which came only in ones a month. My chance of meeting the Straw Hats was literally zero anyway. I am in a different Blue and unless you go to the Grand Line or some crazy shit happened there was no way for me to encounter them. To tell the truth I wasn't really bothered by that. I had not the smallest intention to join the Straw Hat Pirates, if anything then I am going to fuck up Luffy's dream and become King of Pirates myself.
As the edge of the town came into my view, my train of thoughts stopped and I focused on the present again. A minute later I was already in town walking along the main street. The town wasn't that big, the population didn't even hit the 500, but there were a few 'interesting' people living on the island.
"Good afternoon, Rogue," an elderly lady greeted me as I passed by her house.
Nebula, Eldest in the Village, Lv. 2
"Good afternoon, Miss Nebula," I said greeting the elderly woman in a friendly manner.
"Please, just call me Nebula. Being called Miss always makes me feel so old," she said with a gentle smile.
"But you don't look older than fifty," I said to her even so she was in her early eighties.
"Hahaha, thanks for the compliment, lad," she said with a kind smile.
"Hello, grandma. Oh, Rogue is here as well," a young woman with long blond hair which she wears in a braided plait.
Dorothea, Daughter of the Mayor, Lv. 3
"Hey, Dorothea," I replied as I turned to the girl.
"Ah, my little Dora," Nebula said to her granddaughter. "You're today as cute as ever."
"Grandma, please stop. You are embarrassing me," Dorothea said to her grandma.
I chuckled after I heard Nebula continue to dote on her granddaughter in the middle of the street with multiple peopling watching the two. It was really great to see such a nice family… makes me miss my own which I will most likely never see again.
"Oh, Rogue there was something I wanted to tell you," Dorothea said just as I was about to leave the two alone.
"What's the matter?" I asked her.
"Francis was looking for you earlier, he wanted to talk to you about something," Dorothea said with a smile.
"Francis? Could it be that it is done?" I muttered to myself which didn't go unnoticed by Dorothea.
"What is done?" Dorothea asked curiously.
"Well… you see, I hired him a couple of months ago to build me a small ship to travel the North Blue," I explained to the now shocked Dorothea.
"You… you want to leave the island?" she asked visibly shaken by the news.
"Yeah, that something I planned for the last half-year," I explained to her. "I trained myself to be strong enough to face most threats and ordered a small ship by Francis to travel the North Blue."
"Are… are you planning to come back to… back to the village?" Dorothea asked somewhat hopeful.
What I said next was pretty hard for me. Over the last year, I got pretty close with Dorothea... and I am not stupid enough not to realize that she has feelings for me. However, in these last 10 months, since I decided to set out and try to best Luffy in the race for the [One Piece], I trained harder than I ever did before in my life. Another reason is that… I don't love Dorothea. She is a beautiful girl, but she is more like a good friend to me and I can't bring myself to think of her otherwise.
"I doubt that," I said and she gasped.
"But… but…"
"I've decided that I want to travel all of this world… I plan to head to the Grand Line once I gathered a Crew and obtained a fitting ship," I revealed to her.
"But the Grand Line is very dangerous!" Dorothea said shocked by the reveal.
"I know that is dangerous… and can potentially cost me my life," I said looking down. "But I know I will regret it if I won't chase after my dream."
"But… you can't… I don't…" Dorothea tried to express how she thought about it but she just couldn't… it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
"Sorry, Dorothea but there is no way you can change my mind," I said to her with a kind smile on my face. "To tell the truth when I got here with no memories I was afraid of the sea swallowing me once again… but the longer I spend on this island and look at the sea the more I wanted to travel it. I want to see what's behind the horizon. I want to see what island, people, treasures, and adventures await me out there."
"I… I…" she tried to speak her mind but just wasn't able to form the words she wanted to say. However, I know what she wanted to say. I turned to her grandmother who was watching with a sad smile but nodded as if she understood that I just had to do it.
"Well, I hope we will be able to see each other again," I said to them before I turned around to leave. I noticed that Dorothea wanted to say something to me, but I decided to ignore it. There is no need to make it any harder on her.
I continued to walk through the streets of the town, but instead of heading home, I decided to check out what Francis got for me. If it is the ship he promised me then I will probably head out tomorrow. At this point, I can barely contain myself… I want to see what this world has to offer, what my destiny in it will be.
William, Troublemaker, Lv. 3
Pearl, Crafty Thief, Lv. 4
Austin, Bookworm, Lv. 2
I could help but sigh as I spotted the trio which caused a lot of trouble for the town. They tell everyone that I was going to become Pirates, unlike me who kept it a secret and sometimes paint different flag symbols on the different buildings in town. One time they even tried to steal a boat… but after the mayor gave them a good beating for doing that. After that, they did stop doing crazy shit but still were trouble makers.
"Hey, you three! You know that drawing half-assed flags on other person's buildings is rude! You better have this cleaned up or the mayor will punish you later! Or I can do that right now!" I added the last part with a small smirk.
"Aw, come on Rogue. Let us have a bit of fun!" William whines, as he turned away from the miserable try of painting a Pirate Flag.
"Yeah, let us have some fun! We stopped causing troubles in the bar and I didn't steal anything in the last…" Pearl stopped as I stared at her with a stern expression. "Few days."
"I… I tried to… I said we shouldn't…" Austin said really quietly trying to find the right words.
"You need to learn how to speak up," I said to Austin who flinched when I said that to him. "Anyway, you better clean up… or I have to teach you a final lesson in manners."
This made the three had to swallow hard remembering the last time I taught them a lesson. But then Austin managed to say a single word.
"F-final?" he asked with a trembling voice. This also caught the attention of the other two who didn't seem to have noticed that part.
"You don't mean you are going to hurt us in a way that we won't be able to do anything anymore," Pearl said kind of scared.
"No, no, I wouldn't do something like that," I said to them not wanting to have any rumors spread. "I just mean that this will be the last opportunity for me to do so. If Francis is done with my ship then I will leave tomorrow."
"You will leave the island?" William asked surprised and intrigued. William wanted to leave this island since I know him. He grew up in the local orphanage after he was left here by a Pirate Crew. It wasn't like the people of the village treating him bad for being left by Pirates who raided the village, if anything the fault was with William himself. He always hated to follow the rules and always wanted to get things to go his way.
"Yeah, I will follow my dream and travel across the world… maybe I become a Pirate along the way," I said with a smile.
"No way, you are way too nice to be a Pirate!" Pearl declared pointing at me. "If you want to be a Pirate you have to be ruthless and break rules and… a lot more stuff you don't do!"
"Well, I too break rules you know," I said to them with a smile. "However, a Pirate doesn't have to be ruthless and kill other people."
"But that's what all the famous pirates do!" William argued. "Or do you think that Big-Time Rookies like "Red Flag" X Drake, Bellamy "the Hyena", and "Magician" Basil Hawkins became famous and have a large bounty because they are nice?"
"Well, I can't argue with that," I said to him. "They all have large bounties, but I think there are a lot stronger and cooler pirates out there who just haven't been recognized yet."
"As if! I doubt there are any stronger Pirates in this Generation than them," William replied holding onto his believes.
"Well, if words can't convince you… lookout for the next newspapers that comes to the Island. I will make sure that you see my face in it," I said smiling at the three trouble makers before I continued on my way to the workplace of Francis.
These names… I guess I should have kept track of the names of them after all. Luffy could have started his journey by now considering that he, X Drake, and Hawkins all arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago at the same time… I should have a few months until that time comes. That should be enough time to make an impact and become a Supernova. Actually, I wonder if I can compete with the Supernovas as they are right now.
"[Status]," I said quietly to myself.
Rouge, The Gamer, Lv. 24

I wonder are my Stats on par with that of the future Worst Generation? After coming to this world I used most of my points in favor of physical stats instead of mental ones because I really hope that this could keep me from dying in this world filled with Superhuman. Actually, I don't regret doing it to this day. Since this world has no Magic or other similar stuff, I don't see what good INT or WIT would do in a fight. In this world there are three forms of strength, the first is having a Special Fruit which gives you superpowers, the second is to learn how to do Haki, and the final, most simple of them was 'how hard you can hit your opponent'. However, I am not complaining… I actually prefer such simple logic over some really difficult to understand, magical stuff where you have to memorize a lot of details.
When I spend my Points on my physical Stats I decided to balance it out since at first, I didn't have a plan what I would do now that I was stuck in this world. After I decided that I would try to compete with Luffy for the [One Piece] I continued doing that because I have no clue what kind of people I will recruit for my Pirate Crew. All in all, I am rather happy with my stats… when I started I had a five in everything besides [LUCK].
The [LUCK] may have played a role in my survival since I never encountered a very strong being since I came to this world. But at the same time, that means I have no idea how strong I am compared to the Straw Hat Pirates or anyone else that matters. Another downside is that I could never really try out my Devil Fruit in a fight. I could only train with it on my own in the wilderness.
I really wonder if my two Stats that already surpassed 100 are as good as I think, or if I overestimating myself. The only thing I know for sure is that there is no way I could compete with a Shichibukai and much less a Yonkō yet. Just think how overpowered Dracule Mihawk (a Shichibukai) and especially Whitebeard (a Yonkō) were in the anime, made me wonder just how freaking high their Stats would be.
While my mind was still occupied with thinking about the many opponents of Luffy and how I would compare to them, I reached the docks in which my friend Francis was working.
"Hey! Hey, Rogue! ROGUE!" he shouted at the top of his lungs finally making me snap out of my thought process. "You were spacing out again," Francis said as shaking his head.
Francis, Shipwright, Lv. 9
"I'm just thinking about stuff," I replied as I walked over to him who was currently on a ship. "Is this it?" I asked him looking over the small ship.
"Yeah, this is it," Francis said as he hit a nail into the wood. "A beauty, right?"
"She sure is," I said looking at the boat which was special made for me.
At first, no one wanted to listen to me… a nineteen-year-old guy coming to the docks for the first time wanting to hire some people to build a ship after his design. I did remember the ruth design of both the Thousand Sunny and Going Merry, and then designed a plan for a ship resembling the Going Merry since I doubted that any shipwright here could build a ship similar to the Thousand Sunny. It took the likes of Franky, Yokozuna, and Iceburg to build that ship after all.
After a couple of days, I met Francis, and he actually looked at my design. I told him that I wanted to use it to travel the world, even the Grand Line and he got excited at the prospect of building such a ship. Along the line, I admitted that I wanted to become a Pirate with this ship, and he still continued to build it for me. Of course, it would cost quite a bit of money to build… I had to work very hard to earn that money with odd jobs and Quest coming from the System. In the end, I managed to gather the money and he did build a great ship.
"Have you given her a name yet?" I asked as I looked at the Caravel.
"Nah, I thought you would want to do that as her future captain," Francis replied as he mentioned for me to jump on board which I did.
"Well, I think that owner should belong to the person that has built her," I said patting him on the shoulder. "You really earned it after putting in all that effort."
"Then I need some time to think… she needs a fitting name," Francis replied he leaned of the railing.
"You know, my offer is still up," I said as I joined him.
"Sorry, but I'll stay here," Francis replied. "I will live here, take over the business from my dad, then grow old and die."
"Sounds boring," I said with a smirk.
"Sure does," Francis replied looking at the waves splashing against the ship.
"I really would like to have you on my crew," I said looking up to the sky.
"A ship name… how about Jackdaw?" he suggested and I looked at him.
"You want to name my ship after a bird?" I asked him. "I like it!"
"Seriously?" Francis asked surprised.
"Yeah, with this ship I am going to be as free on the ocean as a bird in the sky," I said to him with a smile.
"Free, huh?" he said with a smile.
"Why don't you show me around the Jackdaw?" I asked him excited to see the ship with which I would travel the world.
"Sure, thing," he replied and he started to show me around.
The first room he showed me was probably the most important room on the ship. It served as the meeting room, lounge, and helm for the entire crew. There is also a kitchen located here where our crew's cock, after I found him/her, will be able to cook meals for us to enjoy. There is also a steering pole located inside the room which is a secondary way of steering besides the steering wheel on deck.
A storage room and a cannon deck are located under the lounge of the Jackdaw. This is where my crew can keep all our cargo and eventually treasures. There are also a total of two canons, one facing each of the ship's sides… I wanted more but I could afford them.
Next, we visited the men's room which was located under the big mast in the middle of the boat. It is quite large since there will be multiple crewmembers sleeping her in the future. This includes me since I forgot to include a captain cabin… but that's not a problem. Here were already hanging a total of four hammocks for the crew to sleep in, not the most comfortable but it safes space.
Then there was the women's room which was located in the lowest part of the ship. I had no clue how to decorate that and what should be in there, so I just got a bed and but inside there. It will probably serve as an extra storage room until I have actually female crewmates or be turned into my personal room if I don't get any female crewmates.
A second cannon deck can be found below the front deck of the Jackdaw. This also serves mainly as the room where the anchor is stored as well as… whatever comes up. On this deck, the third and final canon is located which was pointing to the front.
Finally, there was the bathroom… and that's it, just a regular bathroom with a small shower and toilet.
"That ship is really great!" I said after we finished looking at all the different parts. "But it still needs a figurehead."
"You should head to Sisera Island, there is someone who sells and makes figureheads," Francis stated as we looked at the front of the ship.
"I guess I know where I will head first after I set sails," I replied. "How about the two of us head to the tavern and celebrate the completion of my ship?"
"If you pay," Francis said with a smirk.
"Sure," I replied as the two of us got out of the boat.
The two of us started to make our way from the harbored to the tavern which was located on the edge of the city. As the two of us reached the tavern and entered, the sky and sea got colored in an orange shade as the sun began setting. When we entered the tavern it was surprisingly rather empty. Earlier today a merchant ship arrived, even so, we didn't expect one, and it seemed that they would spend the night here… so it is really strange that the tavern isn't filled.
"You should really start looking for some Crewmembers," Francis said shortly after we got our drinks. "I know you can manage the ship on yourself unless a gigantic storm comes by… but still it would be better if you could get at least two or three more members."
Normally a ship of that size would need up to ten people to sail, but it was designed to be easily manageable… and I myself can do the work of up to 8 people easily.
"Well, if a certain someone would agree to join then it would be defiantly easier," I said to him.
"I guess that certain someone has his reasons," Francis said with a small smile.
"I think so too," I replied before I started to tell him what I want for my Pirate Crew.
I told him that I wanted to get at least a total of 10 people for my crew. Among them should be Navigator, a Doctor, a Shipwright, a Cook, a Musician, a Sniper, and a few more combatants. Actually, I also wanted an Archeologist because I needed one to read the Poneglyphs, especially the Road Poneglyphs.
"You will need most of them if you want to achieve your goal," Francis agreed with me.
"Yeah… I wonder when I will meet the first member of my crew," I said as the two of us started drinking.
While we continued to talk and enjoy the evening, there were those who didn't seem to be in a really good mood. The few strangers who belonged to the Crew of the Merchant Ship sat in a corner of the tavern and kept to themselves.
"I can't believe how much bad luck we had on this trip," one of the sailors said with a large jug of beer in his hand.
"We were lucky enough to get out of there… the guy on the other ship…" the sailor got quite not wanting to mention it.
"These cursed pirates. What were they thinking… attacking a Shichibukai is like asking for death," one sailor said.
"Better they then we!" another sailor declared. "I'm just happy that they didn't attack us after the pirates appeared."
"Yeah… if the rumors are true… then we are lucky to still breathe," another said.
"Let's stop thinking about it and instead celebrate that we are still alive!" one said raising his jug.
"AY!" the other said joining him.
Unknown to them and our hero the waves washed a certain person onto the shores of Sunsera Island… a person which would play a major role in the journey of our hero.
That's it for chapter one. This is my first attempt at writing a Gamer Fanfiction and I hope you enjoyed it so far. Next time, the time has come for Rogue's departure and the start of his Pirate life. Also, in the next chapter will be revealed the first crewmate of Rogue on this journey.
Also, some of you guys are probably wondering what Devil Fruit I decided to give Rogue… well, I actually haven't decided yet. There are a lot of cool Devil Fruits I would love for my Main Character to have. Here I have a list for you of the most likely for my character to have.
1. Mera Mera no Mi (Logia): I just love this Devil Fruit and all who used it in One Piece. Fire was always my favorite element in every show I watched since I was a child and then seeing it used by one of my favorite characters of all time… I just love this fruit. I also think the abilities of the Fruit fit the Main Character very well. There are Fruits like the Magu Magu no Mi who far surpass it in strength, which doesn't make the user OP. However, it is very versatile which gives the user other uses besides fighting and much room to grow. (Also Ace having a different Fruit might lead to his survival.)
2. Yami Yami no Mi (Logia): The Devil Fruit of no other than the Main Antagonist himself. It probably the most interesting Devil Fruit in the entire story of One Piece and I love it. Not only are the abilities of it extremely interesting, but this also would make for an interesting interaction between Rogue and Blackbeard if the first had the Powers which the second desired.
3. Ope Ope no Mi (Paramecia): I think the English Name fits it best the [Op-Op Fruit] because this fruit is fucking OP. If you watch One Piece and saw Law use it then you know why this Fruit is one of the best there are. However, I was hesitating to put this Fruit on the list because if Rogue gets it the Law won't be in the story... I don't want to spoiler you so I won't talk about his Backstory. Also, the Fruit is OP, and combining it with the Gamer System... well, you will have OP OP character.
4. Zushi Zushi no Mi (Paramecia): Well, what can I say… I love the idea of being able to mess with fucking gravity. It is so incredibly versatile and powerful that you cannot dislike this Fruit. And if you saw the power being used in the anime or manga… you know what crazy shit its user can pull off.
5. Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix (Zoan): Well, I think the combination of a Human and an animal is a cool idea… but I'm never got too much into them with the Logia being my favorite, and all the cool Paramecia. Yet, there was one Zoan that I find more interesting than all the others and that is the Phoenix Fruit. This fruit is basically a Zoan with Logia and Paramecia abilities… and the ability to regenerate all injuries is really good. The only problem I have with this Fruit is that it lacks offensive powers since it flames doing nothing to the user's opponents.
These are the Fruits I will most likely choose from. I decided to not go with an original Devil Fruit because… it would make it more and more complicated to come up with new uses for it and how the power evolves. Also, I did this for convenience's sake since thinking how my OC Fruit would handle certain situations in a logical way and that would dramatically increase the time I need to release a new chapter. If you guys want you can think about what Fruit Rogue should use for his adventure, and if you have another idea than the five then please message me.
That's all I wanted to tell you guys for now. Well, how about I give you just one more treat? Here are the Stats of Luffy who just started his adventure.
