"So, do you want to tell me why we stole a yacht?" Logan asked as he walked up behind his girlfriend and wrapped his arm around her.

"I told you," Rory sighed as she leaned against him. "I just needed to take to the sea."

"Ace," he sighed as he turned her in his arms and studied her face. He saw the confusion and hurt in her eyes and the defeated slump in her shoulders. "What happened? When we talked earlier you were fine, you were excited to come to the party." He waited for her to say something and when she didn't he sighed. "You got here earlier than planned so I am assuming you got out of Friday night dinner," pausing he studied her, but she didn't make a sound. "Before dinner you were with my father…" he trailed off as realization dawned. "What did he say Ace?" he asked. Before he could say anything else, he saw the lights of an approaching boat and a blare of a siren. "Fuck," he muttered when he realized they were caught.

"You need to follow us," a voice came through the bullhorn. "You don't have permission to use this boat."

Rory sighed and knew she needed to do something and moved from Logan's embrace and towards the marina patrol. "Yes, I do!" she exclaimed as she reached the edge of the boat.

"And who are you?" the patrol asked as the boats stilled side by side.

"Lorelai Leigh Gilmore," she sighed. "This boat is registered to Edward Hayden. You can contact him or Francine or Christopher or their lawyers…"

"So, you know the owner but that doesn't give you permission to take their boat," the patrolman stated.

Rory squared her shoulders and pushed her hair away from her face and Logan moved closer to her. "Contact your office and ask if Lorelai Gilmore has permission to use this boat," she demanded. "I'll wait."

The agent walked towards the cabin and Logan looked at her. "Care to explain Ace?" he asked the confusion evident in his voice.

She shook her head no and sighed. "Not now. Let's get rid of them first."

After a few more minutes the patrolman came back towards them. "I apologize Ms. Gilmore but in the future, you do need to let us know when you plan on taking the boat out."

"I will," Rory replied dismissively, and the couple waited until the other boat departed before she sighed and turned to look at him. She knew she owed him some explanations, needed to tell him what was going on but there was so much in her mind she couldn't get her thoughts in order. Finally she sighed and started to talk. "Which explanation do you want first?" she questioned, and he just raised his eyebrow. "Do you want to know why I wanted to go to sea or why I am authorized to use the Hayden boat?"

"Let's go with the boat," Logan told her and escorted her back to the seating area.

"You couldn't go with the easier questions," she mumbled as she sat down.

"We can start with taking to the sea," he replied studying her, having heard her mumble. "But I would really like an answer to both questions."

She sighed and leaned back into the chair debating on what to say. "Okay the quickest story first… so taking to the sea. Your father told me I don't have what it takes to be a journalist. He knows when someone has it and I do not have it," she told him.

"What the fuck!" Logan yelled as he studied her. "He said that to you?" he questioned. "Just like that?"

She sighed and studied him for a moment, "pretty much."

"I knew it. I knew this was going to happen," he stated as he stood to pace. "I didn't want you to take that internship."

"I had to take the internship," she argued. "Your fathers the top guy in the business!"

"My father is a jackass! He's a bully! He has zero interest in people's feelings. Its always just say what you feel, right of wrong, who the hell cares who you hurt. Whatever. I'm going over there tonight!" Logan rambled.

"Logan, no," Rory replied as she stood up and grabbed his hand.

"You're my girlfriend Rory, he should have treated you better than that," he replied as he caressed her face.

"I don't want you to say anything," Rory pleaded.

"I have to!" he stated, determined to standup for her.

"Logan, no! Please! I just want to forget this. I just want it to go away! And please don't make a big thing between you and your dad, I don't want that!" she told him as she looked in his eyes.

"But Ace," he sighed and leaned his head against hers. "Don't you see… he made this a thing between us. You are talented, you are amazing…" he sighed as he tried to get his emotions under control. "This is a continuation of the dinner; they are trying to push us apart. Remember that my mother said…"

"Logan," she sighed. "I… don't think…"

"Ace," he replied and cupped her face. "I know you want to see the best in people. But my parents… there is no good in them. Its what they want and screw everyone else. You are talented, everyone knows it!"

"Logan," she sighed. "But what if he's right? I mean… you even said so yourself I'm a little sheltered."

"Ace," he paused knowing he needed to tell her what he thought. "Do I think you are cut out to be a journalist, writing features or politics or opinions? Yes, absolutely yes. You have a way with words that paint a picture and draw people in." He sighed and closed his eyes for a moment. "Do I think you have what it takes to be in a war zone, in the thick of danger, sleeping on the ground? No…" he told her and saw the hurt in her eyes. "You're a talented writer and you're amazing but tell me truthfully that being Christiane Amanpour is what you want. Is that what you want or something that Lorelai has convinced you that you want?" He knew his words were hurting her, he could see it, but it was now of never, he never understood this hold her mother had on her, how her mother's opinion meant everything to her. While they both had paths laid out in front of them since birth he rebelled, and she stayed on course. "If you tell me truthfully what you, and only you want, then I will set you up with some of HPG's foreign correspondent and you can pick their brain, find out what you need to do to get to your dream."

She bit her lower lip and thought about what he was saying, it was just like what others had told her, but she never listened. Did she really want to be Christiane Amanpour? For as long as she could remember that had been the goal, the plan… Harvard, New York Times, foreign correspondent. "I don't know," she answered truthfully, and he pulled her against him and rubbed her back. He felt her tears through his shirt, and he moved to sit down and kept her against him as he tried to calm her down.

"I am here," he murmured against her hair. "I'll help you," he promised. When he felt her breathing calm, he gently lifted her chin to meet his eyes. "I am here, you are great, you can do great things and you can figure that out," he told her and placed a soft kiss on her lips. She deepened it and started pushing off his jacket. "Ace, slow down," he murmured as he pulled slightly back.

"I need you," she told him desperately. "I need you to make me forget," she whispered.

He studied her; he knew how she was feeling. How many times had he come home from a meeting with his father and found comfort in her, how many times had he desperately needed her to make him forget like only she could? "Its your rodeo," he told her and let her continue pushing off his jacket and attack his lips. He unzipped her dress and ran his fingers along her spine. She was desperate in her movements and quickly rid him of his shirt and stood, her dress slipping off her slender frame and she quickly moved to undo his belt and he lifted his hips to help her with taking off his pants and boxers then she shed her bra and underwear standing in front of him naked. He studied her eyes that were just filled with lust and want now, he took in her naked body that was bathed in the moonlight. "God you are so fucking sexy," he groaned in a husky voice. She straddled him again and he quickly latched onto her nipple, nibbling on it causing her to moan and press her chest against him. He roughly tweaked her other nipple and she ground herself against him and he bit down a little on her, she gasped and dug her fingers into his shoulder. He was always gentle and tender with her even when they were a little rough, but tonight she wanted his rough and hard.

"Fuck me Logan," she pleaded, and he moved his lips off her and looked into her eyes and she rocked hard against him. "I know you always hold back," she told him in a husky voice that made him throb. She sat slightly up and moved him, so he was placed at her entrance and lowered on to him hard and fast, they both moaned at the contact and he thrust his hips up. He moved his hands under her and started moving her up and down as he thrust up. "Fuck me," she moaned again, and he paused to look into her eyes.

"Are you sure," he demanded. The lust and want in his eyes turned her on even more and she rocked hard against him. "Tell me," he demanded. He wasn't going to be rough with her unless she was sure, she was right there were times he wanted to pound into her, be rough, but he always held back, she wasn't just a meaningless girl, she never was.

"I'm sure," she told him and rocked again. "Let go."

She barley got the words out before he lifted her up and slipped out of her causing her to whimper and the loss of contact. He stood he up and positioned her so she was leaned over the back of the chair and he was behind her, teasing her entrance with his tip until she whimpered and pushed back. A laugh escaped at her impatience and he spanked her, she gasped and pressed back against him. "Do you like that?" he asked and when she moaned her spanked her again, a little harder and when she pushed back against him again he slammed his length into her and she screamed at the sudden impact and how deep he pushed into her. He pulled out and slammed back in, looking down, watching as her small body took every inch of him, when she moved her hips again, he spanked her again. "You still want it rough?" he breathed out and slammed into her again as one hand moved to her clit and pinched it.

"Yes," she cried out and he let himself go. The pace he set was punishing, one hand continued to work on her clit the other roughly pinched and squeezed her nipples. She was moaning and panting. Sex with Logan had always been amazing but this… it was wild, needy, demanding. Before she knew it, she felt herself tightening and she came moaning his name. Logan stilled inside of her, not ready to let this end yet. "You're not, why didn't you…" she murmured when she came down from her high and realized that he was still hard inside her.

"I'm not done with you," he muttered harshly and quickly pulled out of her and spun her around. He picked her up and positioned her, so she was sitting on a railing, her back pressed against the cabin wall and slammed back into her. He watched her as he brought her close to the edge and then pulled out and moved her back towards the couch area and positioned her on all fours and teased her again, spanking her again for her impatience.

"Please," she begged, she needed him inside of her. He let out a satisfied laugh before he slowly slipped back into her, he did this a few times, loving watching his dick appear and disappear inside of her, he could hear the desperation in her moans so he sped up the pace and pounded into her and when she got close again he pulled out and positioned her so she was laying on her stomach and he moved her hands over her head and held them in place before he pushed back into her. His hand held her captive and his weight on her prevented her from moving and he slammed into her trying to fuck her into the couch. This time when he felt her start to tighten, he slowed slightly but didn't stop.

"Scream for me," he demanded, and she complied when he slammed back into her. "Louder," he demanded as he continued the pace and moved his other hand under her and pinched her nipple and she screamed his name again. "Louder," he demanded again as he moved his hand from her nipple and slapped her ass. When she screamed this time, he felt her tightening around him, pulsing, pulling his own intense orgasm from him. He let go of her wrists and fell on top of her in an exhausted heap, both struggling to catch their breath.

"You okay?" he asked, worried about how she was feeling after that, he had never been that rough with her.

"Uh hum," she muttered still trying to get her breathing under control. "Wow."

He pulled out of her and moved so he could look at her. Her eyes were closed, her cheeks were still flushed but she had a small smile on her lips. "Did you like that?" he asked with a self-satisfied smirk.

"Uh yeah," she said as she opened her eyes and looked at him. "Why have we never done that before?" she asked. It seemed to her that he enjoyed that immensely and while they had rough sex a few times when he had come home upset it was nothing compared to that.

He shrugged his shoulders and sighed. "I know I'm only the second guy you ever slept with," he told her. "I didn't want to hurt you, and you're not…"

She raised her eyebrows at him, "I'm not what?"

"You're not the girl that you fuck and forget," he told her. "With you it always meant something to me, you have always meant something to me."

She contemplated is answer for a moment. "Okay," she finally told him. "I'm not going to say I'm up for this every day but… once in a while I am all for it," she told him with a smirk.

He raised his eyebrow at her and a knowing smile crossed his face, "you like it rough sometimes. Good to know because I have to admit hearing you scream my name like that, holy shit." She giggled a little and buried her face into the cushion to hide her blush. "Oh, really now you blush he teased and just pulled her towards him. They sat like that for a few minutes just savoring the quiet. "So… is there anything to drink on this boat?" he asked, and she sighed.

"Yeah," she answered and moved slightly to get up. She went to put on her dress, but he stopped her.

"Just put on my shirt," he told her as he pointed to his dress shirt. "It'll be easier."

"Okay," she nodded and slipped it over her shoulders and walked away to grab them both drinks. She came back a few minutes later and he had to admire how sexy she looked in his shirt, she handed him a glass of scotch and moved two bottles of water from the crook of her arm to the table and then settled next to him with her own scotch. "Soo… what I am about to tell you no one knows," she told him and looked into his eyes. "So, I don't want you to be upset or hurt or…"

"Your mom doesn't know?" he questioned, and she shook her head no, her answer shocked him. He always thought she shared everything with her mother.

She took a long sip of the drink before she looked at him. "Okay so my parents are Lorelai Gilmore and Christopher Hayden," she paused when she saw the shock and questions in his eyes. "Yes, Staub and Francine Hayden… Wow, a lot of people don't know that. I just assumed… he was my escort to my debutante ball…"

"You were a deb?" he questioned interrupting her.

"Yeah," she stated with a shrug and giggle. "Grandma really wanted me to do it so… okay the story. Straub and Francine wanted nothing to do with me growing up, I only remember meeting them once when I was 16 and they told me I was a mistake and prevented my father from succeeding. Now my dad and I… we have never had a good relationship he has always been in and out of my life, never really sticking around. There were a few times that I thought he would, but something always happened. During my senior year at Chilton, I met Edward Hayden, my great grandfather. I guess all the Hayden's were under the impression that Chris was always involved in my life, that he was with us in Stars Hollow. When Edward found out that wasn't true he wanted to get to know me… so he found me my freshman year of Yale and we started going to lunch and dinner, we built a relationship. As that relationship continued to grow, I started to get to know Straub and Francine," she paused and took a sip of her drink. "I never told anyone and neither did the Hayden's. It was mostly my reluctance it was never made public; you know how much my mom hates society and she hates the Hayden's more. I know they are disappointed at my reluctance to step into their family publicly… It all started coming to light when Straub died a few months ago. Dad found out about the relationship and mom was pissed I wanted to go to the funeral. I didn't attend the will reading but Staub had two versions one if he died first and the second if Edward dies first." Rory paused and closed her eyes, taking a few breaths to steady herself. Both Straub and Edward want me to get involved with the Hayden empire," she took a deep breath. "They also agree with you that I am a good journalist but doesn't think a foreign correspondent is me either. If I want to continue journalism, they are fine with that but still want me to be like a figure-head or something with the company. I think that's probably why your dad's words hurt as much as they did… if he told he that I didn't have 'it' to be in the thick of it, in constant danger… I would have been okay; I've sort of come to terms with it and have spend a lot of time thinking about if that was really what I wanted… I don't remember me ever saying that I wanted to be Christina Amanpour it was just always there," she shrugged and took a gulp of the drink. "But anyways… back to the boat. We didn't steal it because its my families and Edward added me to the authorized user list."

Logan watched her still in surprise that she was a Hayden, she was rich! She was as rich or richer than he was! Her family had investments everywhere including HPG, and if memory served him correctly Hayden owed a large share of HPG. There were rumors that the Hayden's had an heiress… "You're the Hayden heiress," he muttered as he met her eyes.

She shrugged slightly, "that's what they want. I haven't agreed yet but from what Edward has told me he already has everything in the works... Dad understands, he never really followed the plan or any of the expectations like I have unintentionally. I just don't know if I am ready for everything to come out when I haven't told any of the Gilmore's."

"No one knows you're a Hayden," he stated and started laughing. When she looked at him questioningly, "does Edward know we are dating?"

"Yeah," she told him. "I told him after we officially started dating, before that you were just a friend that was on the YDN with me. You actually called me a few weeks ago when I was at lunch with him and he wondered who made me look so happy. Why?"

"From what I remember, Hayden Investments owns a decent amount of HPG stock," Logan told her and grabbed her hand. "Does Edward know you were interning with my dad?" when she nodded yes, he chuckled. "Edward is not going to be happy when you tell him what the Dark Lord said." He saw the doubt in her eyes and he squeezed her hand. "You have to tell him the truth," he told her. "Besides the marina probably called to tell him that you took the boat out, he is going to want to know why."

"Your right," she replied with a sigh and leaned against him. "I guess we should head back," she told him reluctantly. "I am sure I probably have a lot of missed calls… I didn't call to tell anyone I wouldn't be at dinner."

"What?" her exclaimed as he looked at her.

"I was really upset," she told him and looked down. "I wasn't thinking I just… I just needed you."

"Ace," he murmured as he pulled her towards him "I know what you mean, after meeting with him… just being with you helps settle me. But promise me you are done with the researching and hero worship?"

"I promise," she told him. "Thank you. Thank you for stealing a boat with me," she giggled.

"Hey," he told her as he lifted her chin, so their eyes met. "If this relationship thing if going to work we got to talk to each other. You have to tell me why we're committing a felony before we do it. Not that that's going to stop us but at least I'll have all the facts first." He pressed a soft kiss on her lips and rubbed her jaw with his thumb. "I know I'm not the best at opening up… but I promise to try harder as long as you do to. I'm not upset you didn't tell me the Hayden thing," he told her with a sigh. "I'm actually really shocked you told me before your mom."

"She hates society," Rory stated in a resigned tone. "I know she is not going to like it. And then everything with you… I have just realized that when it comes to society, she has this blind spot and she only sees what she wants to see," she gave a small shrug and he could tell that she had thought about what she was saying for a while. "And for me talking to you, I promise I will try harder and not automatically run like my initial response is… but if I do, just stop me? It seems to be a Gilmore girl thing, we run."

He chuckled and pulled her to him, "I promise as long as you promise to be patient with me on opening up."

"Deal," she told him, and they sealed the promise with a kiss.

They stayed on the boat for awhile longer and talked more about her relationship with her mother and what she wanted to do. He convinced her to talk to Lorelai about how she felt, at least her thoughts on changing her career path. She loved writing but what Mitchum had told her about not having 'it' still weighed heavy on her mind. There was also the fact that Edward wanted her involved with Hayden and she was interested in being a part of the family company and taking on that legacy. She had a lot to think about and talking everything though with Logan helped her get her thoughts together. With him leaving for the summer she had planned on spending the time in Stars Hollow, especially since she wasn't going to work at the Stamford Gazette any longer… but Edward had also offered her a position in London for a portion of the summer so she could learn more about the business. Rory knew if she was going to take him up on that offer, she would have to tell Lorelai, Richard and Emily about her involvement with the Hayden's and that worried her. There was so much she needed to think about… Logan wanted her to take the Hayden job, then she would be in Europe and they could spend part of the summer together. He had been trying to convince her to go with the guys for a while, but she didn't want to intrude on their 'last summer of freedom.' Finally, she relented on meeting with Edward to get more information on the job and how she should tell the rest of the Gilmore's.

Logan finally steered the boat back to the dock and they both redressed in their clothes. When they got back Rory's phone started going crazy with missed calls from Lorelai and she just sighed and send her mother a quick message back apologizing for missing dinner and that something happened at the internship that she wasn't ready to talk about, but she would talk to her the following day after her exams were done. Since Logan had taken the car service to the marina, he drove Rory's car home and held her hand. The silence in the car was comfortable, he knew she had a lot she needed to work through on her own and he just hoped she knew that he would be there with her in any way she needed. After they arrived back to her room, he helped her change and they both fell asleep quickly with her head on his chest and his arms wrapped around her.
