CHAPTER 11!
REVIEWS:
Anikong: Who said she won't join later? Nerdy has been adding to the Harem, so why can't I? I know I might have said she won't be joining, but changing my mind is easy.
PlayingRascal: Thanks for the opinion and knowing you respect good music
HelpingHand: LONG REV MY GUY! GONNA NEED TO BREAK INTO PIECES THAT BOTH ME AND NERDY WILL ANSWER.
Nerdy: HH1 - Jaune will definitely need to do something like that in order to make sure his waifu is satisfied. After all, a relationship can't just be one-sided, especially when it comes to pleasure. As for the ones to go to for advice on the matter, sounds good.
HH2: Good suggestion. Maybe we will do just that, or maybe something else. Still, we can do that for another character if we won't for them.
HH3: I do not think Jaune knows how to ride a bike, or has a license. A good idea nonetheless for a date, but I and Nerdy have something for Yang's date.
HH4: Yes on them being alone, maybe to the boat idea. The Weiss date will be the most interesting one, I can confirm that.
Nerdy: HH5 - While I do agree with all that, too much energy can also result in reckless decisions too. If the two try to have sex, rens poor pelvis is fucked lol.
HH6: That sounds like some Lovecraftian shit, ngl. No, we actually plan to cure Salem at some point, so the kids won't be part Grimm.
HH7: Oh yeah, definitely. I also have some good ideas to get a big old laugh from the audience when they come around.
HH8: It is not my intention to make that one disturbing at all, so ima confirm this; It is not the R-word 100%. Ash does throw in some moves when Neo gets tired. It is more like the fact Neo might be a bigger Dom than he is and she has more energy than he does.
Nerdy: HH9 - oh don't worry, we have ideas in mind and we plan to make her pure waifu material. I'm sure the audience will love her.
HH10: They will join, don't worry. They are also not the last girls, since I and Nerdy decided to keep the auditions open for other girls to join in. Granted, no RIDICULOUSLY HUGE Harem. We are likely going to stop at the next one, which I hinted at with Anikong.
Well, there goes the privacy that was provided by the inter-semestrial break. After the date with Salem, who confirmed that the girls were not aware of his plans, he had returned to his dorm to prepare for his date with Ruby but got a text from her the next day saying he should wait some more. He didn't know what she meant, exactly, but he didn't press on. Right now, while roaming the halls to go from one class to another with Pyrrha and the rest of his team, including Blake, Ruby, and Emerald, he could feel the dirty gazes that he was getting from everyone around him.
Jealousy was visible in their eyes and the promise of murder that each of them wished him, from the guys and some girls, the other half being more curious than anything about his situation which was most of the female students and some guys. Seriously, he got himself married to eight women and now he was some kind of hot topic. He'd be lying if he said he was not feeling anxious simply walking through the halls of Beacon because of it, knowing any of them might try to attack him at any given time.
"Jaune? Are you ok?" Pyrrha asked him, noticing his tensed body. Well, tenser than usual.
"Just...A bit worried." He replied, looking around at the crowds. He could swear he heard some curses and some guys were cracking their knuckles. He gulped in fear, being ready to high-tail it away any time-
"FUCK YOU, ARC! THIS WILL TEACH YOU NOT TO STEAL EVERY PIECE THERE IS!" Fucking-A! Already someone was running down the halls towards him with a large broadsword in hand.
"Shit!" Jaune swore aloud and looked away, waiting for the punishment. The guy was coming in hot, sword in hand. Pyrrha got her hand up, ready to use her semblance when a mace struck the guy in the side, coming from the other hall connected to theirs, then the heavy steps of Cardin coming through and picking up his mace, the guy having been knocked into the wall and dazed. "I never thought I'd be saying this, but thank you, Cardin," Jaune replied in relief as the former bully put the mace over his shoulder and nodded at him with his casual cocky smile.
"Don't mention it, Jaune." He replied, then picked up the aggressor, his team taking his sword and likely dragging him to Goodwitch. Suddenly the air felt lighter around him, the guys around have decided to back down less they wanted Cardin to bash their skulls in. Jaune then looked back to his own trajectory, noticing the look Emerald had on her face.
"Is there a problem?" He asked, noticing that everyone was acting as if he grew a second head. "Cardin sees my marriage as a reason to respect me more." He shrugged, then Emerald spoke.
"Are you starting your own gang or something?" She asked.
"What?! No! No, none of that!" He replied, trying to dismiss the accusation.
"Are you sure?" Blake asked as well, siding with Emerald. "Don't get me wrong Jaune, but Emerald does have a point. Having Cardin respect you is bound to be a great opportunity to set a major power move and establish yourself as the Alpha of the school"
"Speaking from experience, Blake?" Emerald asked, looking at her feline sister-wive.
"My father's. That is how the Fang mainly came to be, although the circumstances were different as well as the reason." The cat Faununs replied, then she went towards her husband, leaning on him a bit, which caused Jaune to be somewhat uncomfortable, especially since they were in public. "But if I am to state my opinion...He is already an Alpha" She purred.
"Hey now!" Nora shouted, coming in between them and separating the cat in heat from her fearless leader. "No affection in public! You two can fuck your brains out in private!" Many students turned their heads towards them hearing that, some having looks of disbelief on them while Pyrrha blushed heavily.
"N-Nora!" Jaune shouted, his voice breaking.
"What? Didn't you pay attention in biology class in middle school? The Faunus are more open to-" Her mouth was swiftly covered by Ren, the silent boy giving Jaune an apologetic look.
"Thank you, Ren" Jaune said.
The intercom came to live in the halls, the voice of Ozpin coming through. "Would Mr. Arc please present himself to the Headmaster's office? Thank you"
They all looked at Jaune. "Did you do something, Jaune?" Ruby asked a bit worried. "Professor Ozpin sounded less polite than usual."
"He almost sounded a bit...ecstatic?" Pyrrha said, trying to guess the wizard's mood.
"Well, standing here is not going to answer any of those questions, so." He replied, then he started walking towards the elevator. "Make sure to take notes for me, ok?"
Jaune went up with the elevator up to Ozpin's office, coming out of it and coming face to face with the Headmaster and other people, one of which he didn't quite recognize. It was a tall man with a defined muscular build and short, laid-back hair dressed in formal white attire. His lips were pressed tightly together, showing a stern poker face, but he was clearly troubled by something. And judging by the fact he was looking at Salem with a look that could kill, that answered that. "Hello, Headmaster," Jaune said, getting the attention of the stranger.
"How did you do it?" Then the man wasted no time in going to Jaune, asking questions of him with an authoritarian tone. "How did you defeat her? Tell me!"
"What?" Jaune said in confusion and slight fear at the man, but the sound of Ozpin clearing his throat had him back down.
"James, please refrain from interrogating Mister Arc while in my academy. Thank you" The man now named James gave Jaune a strange look before returning to his spot next to Glynda, Qrow being on the other side with Salem standing next to him. Having so many eyes on him was strange, but at least Salem waved at him with a warm smile. "I apologize for the sudden meeting, Mister Arc, but Salem has just told me some interesting things that you and she talked about during your previous date."
"Is it about...The Vacuan Tango?" He asked, thinking that was the reason, but the snort from Qrow said otherwise.
"Nah, kid. If it was about dancing I am sure the only one who would need lessons here is good old Jimmy." The drunk man replied, earning a sigh from the man.
"Allow me to formally introduce myself" James said. "My name is James Ironwood, Headmaster of Atlas Academy and Head of the Atlas Military. I would prefer if you could address me using my rank, however, which is General Ironwood"
"Oh, I understand, um, sir?" Jaune replied, only now realizing he was before one of the strongest men out there. The Headmaster of another Huntsman academy and another member of Ozpin's inner circle. "So what is this meeting about?"
"Well, at first I was interested in how Salem, the enemy, was defeated by a 17-year-old. Ozpin's report over the matter was...strange." Ironwood said, then pinched the bridge of his nose. "Then I found out you didn't defeat her but married her as a result of a drunken mishap, along with two of her associates, along with other five ladies from your year.-" Qrow snorted a bit.
"Yang a lady, now I heard them all…" He muttered, then Ironwood continued.
"-and that Salem, Cinder Fall - responsible for the attack on the Fall Maiden - and Emerald Sustrai are now in custody." He finished.
"Can you please not refer to them as if they are our prisoners, James? Salem and the other two can freely wander around Beacon and even Vale if they want to." Ozpin said, earning the General's reaction.
"But Ozpin, there is no guarantee that-"
"Yes, there is," Salem interjected, putting up her ring. "This is the guarantee, General. I might have my sins, but I am not one to break a vow. Not anymore." She finished, letting the General narrow his eyes at her, a skeptical look in his eyes.
"This is not enough to calm me, I am afraid." He added.
"Would healing the Fall Maiden, Amber, be enough?" Ozpin said, surprising everyone. "Salem told me about your suggestion, Mister Arc, and I admit that there is a chance that it might work. I was the one to create the Maidens, yes, and with your semblance and Salem's power, we might be able to wake Amber up. However, I do have a proposal…"
"A proposal?" Salem echoed, turning to her ex-husband with a strange look in her eyes. She didn't know anything about a proposal, Ozpin has not said anything at all to her.
"We will use our combined powers to also transfer the other half of the Maiden's power…" Ironwood was smirking, despite knowing his device will be wasted. At least the power will return to its rightful place. "To Cinder Fall and crown her as the new official Fall Maiden."
"WHAT?!" Ironwood shouted, turning to Ozpin and slamming his hands on his desk. "Oz, you cannot be serious!"
"I am with Jimmy on this one!" Qrow added
"So am I!" And so did Glynda.
"Transfering the rest of the Maiden's power to her? Are you out of your mind?!" Ironwood continued, looking at Ozpin with disbelief in his eyes. "After everything we have gone through to make sure the power stays out of their hands you will offer it to them on a silver platter just like that?!"
"I know this seems crazy-"
"That is not even starting to scratch the tip of the iceberg, Ozma!" Salem said, surprising Jaune as he thought she wouldn't have an issue with this. The blonde husband was stunned by this, but he decided to keep quiet while in the presence of two Headmasters. "Cinder might be acting more...tame, since the marriage, but that is not to say she is not unstable. I'd know, I nurtured that side of her. There is no telling what she might do when she gets the power if she will behave or betray us all. "
"See Ozpin!" Ironwood shouted again at the old wizard. "Even she thinks it is a bad idea! Cinder Fall is too unstable!"
"Then what do you propose we do, James? Amber's body, even if we use a mix of semblance, magic, and medical technology, has been damaged in ways even I do not understand! Even if she is healed I doubt she will ever be able to handle the Maiden power again, if not harm her! We need to transfer her power and Miss Arc Fall is a fitting candidate for it" Ozpin retaliated. "Or do you have a better option?" Ironwood tried to open his mouth. "That doesn't involve anyone from Atlas, more specifically your Specialist, getting the power?" And so his mouth shut itself. "I thought so. Now, I know this has its risks, but I am confident in Mister Arc's ability to handle his own wife."
"Are you seriously putting this on the shoulders of a student?!" Ironwood was outraged, and for a good reason.
"Ease up, Ironwick, Ozpin is saying something there!" Qrow said, standing up for Ozpin and Jaune. "If the kid can handle my daughter and niece at the same time - and I hope you are taking good care of them, or else - then he can handle that girl no problemo. Besides, we will be there and have Miss Grimm Queen as well. There is no risk"
"As much as I'd like to side with you here, James, I am afraid Qrow does have a point. We will all be present, so if issues arise we can all attack Cinder Arc Fall and apprehend her" Glynda said as well, to which Ironwood breathed in and out audibly.
"Fine. But if she proves to untrustable, then I won't hesitate to pull the trigger on Due Process."
"Thank you for understanding, James." Ozpin said, then he turned to Jaune. "Now, Mister Arc, are you ready to save a life?"
"...How hard can it be?"
"Me and my fucking big mouth" Jaune cursed himself after everyone arrived in the vault. Before him stood the pod where Amber was being kept in stasis. Her light-brown skin complexion and brown, shoulder-length hair, the bandages covering her to keep her modest. But his eyes were mainly on the darker patch of skin on her face, which was a big scar around her left eye with several patches stretching on her face. He approached the pod slowly, placing a hand over it and looking at the comatose girl, then at Salem who looked down in shame.
"I already sent Qrow to fetch Cinder, but I think we should first heal her." Ozpin said, going up to the control panel. Ironwood and Glynda were standing close by, each of them with their hands on their weapons. Jaune and Salem understood why, but they didn't argue. Seeing Amber in such a state, Salem knew she deserved it and Jaune knew this was only fair.
The pod opened itself with a hiss, exposing the girl within to the air. Ozpin stood on one side of her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I am sorry once more that this happened to you, Amber. But right now, right here, I promise you this is all going to end. You will be able to go up again, and see the sun." He turned to Salem and Jaune. "Jaune, Salem, please join me." The two listened to Ozpin's words and approached Amber, Salem placing a hand on her other shoulder, Jaune placing his hands above Amber's chest, his Aura flaring.
Salem looked down at the girl, feeling the guilt inside her. "You may not know me, but…" She began. "I am at fault for putting you in here. You may not forgive me, but please, at least forgive Cinder - the one I sent to kill you and take your power. She...She deserves better."
Ozpin took a deep breath, then he looked at Jaune. "Are you ready, Mister Arc?" He asked.
"Yes, Sir." Jaune replied.
"Then let us begin." Ozpin said softly, then an orange glow surrounded Amber, likely her own Aura being brought up. Jaune focused his semblance on her as well, the glow growing stronger. Ozpin and Salem were combining their powers together to aid her, finding what was broken and mending it. Jaune could feel the power the three held as he worked through Amber's Aura - her soul. It was magnificent, almost impossible to describe, but he focused on the task at hand.
Healing Amber. He focused deeply on that, trying to push his semblance as much as he could to help her. Slowly, the first good sign showed itself as her scar faded from her face, then a few moans escaped her lips and her eyes moved. She was recovering, he could feel it. Ozpin and Salem noticed it as well, which is why they were not slowing down the process but pushing more.
"This is amazing…" Ironwood muttered, awed by the display before him. "Our best doctors all said she will never recover, that her Aura structure is broken and that she will fade, but...but…"
"This is what magic is capable of." Glynda said, equally as stunned as him. "I have seen Ozpin's magic before, but never like this. He is not holding back in the slightest, and Salem is...Even stronger than him. I guess he was not lying when he said his magic fluctuates with each reincarnation."
"Jaune Arc is not doing a bad job himself. A semblance that can amplify Aura, making its properties stronger and enhancing semblances as well...Gods, Ozpin, why do you always get the best students?" The General said, muttering the last part more to himself.
"Believe it or not, he actually faked his transcripts." Glynda revealed, shocking the man.
"He did what?!" Ironwood said, then looked back at him. "Then why is he still in Beacon? For how long have you been aware, Glynda?"
"Me? Not long. But Ozpin has been aware since the beginning. I did ask him once why, after his transcripts were revealed...He told me he hated to see Mr. Arc's potential wasted. I didn't understand what he was saying back then, but after seeing him progress, both physically, in combat, academically, and as a person - I know what he meant now."
"You mean...Nicholas has?"
"Made a mistake by not giving his son proper training" Glynda finished, her eyes fixed on the boy. "All of this time, all he needed was someone to believe and be willing to help him develop. His family refused to do so, but then Miss Nikos came into the picture and helped him. I admit I didn't think much of Jaune, but...Maybe I should get a little bit more involved with him and train him myself."
"And why is that?" Ironwood asked. "Do you have a reason for that desire?"
"More like a duty as a teacher and apology for making the same mistake as everyone. You should try testing his tactical skills, James. I heard he has a good head on his shoulders."
"That, Glynda, I will decide by myself"
The process continued for a bit, the glow around Amber starting to fade ever so slowly, a sign that sent everyone into alarm. "What is happening?" Jaune asked, seeing Amber's Aura slowly die out. He tried to force his semblance, but it was like holding on to a boulder above a ravine by a rope.
"The Maiden Powers are stressing her body and Aura structure too much, hindering the healing" Salem said. "We will not be able to fully heal her like this."
"Nor can we do the transfer until she is healed, her body cannot take it!" Ozpin added, then he looked down at his cane. "I know what to do! Salem, Jaune, hold on!" He took his cane in his free hand and pressed the level on it, the gears inside it turning and rotating as the tip began to glow. He then pressed it into the ground, a large green barrier erupting around them, Salem's eyes wide in amazement.
"This is...An accumulator?" She muttered, looking at the surrounding magic, then back at Ozpin who was glowing with a powerful green color, his eyes closed and hand firmly on Amber's shoulder. He then opened his eyes, a white glow filling them and a white flame burning next to them. The energy was all around her, and Salem felt it. She drew from it as well, her eyes letting out a dark flame of pure power.
Accumulators, of course. How could she miss it? Ozma has been gathering power all this time in that cane of his, likely to strike her down when needed. But now? She and Ozma were using it to heal Amber. Jaune for his part looked amazed as he looked at the two, the witch and wizard working together to save one life. He couldn't give up easily, so he began to pour more of his Aura into the process. But something was starting to buzz in the back of his head, a strange feeling, yet familiar. It felt right to him…
It wasn't part of the process, but more like something that was waking up because of it. He kept his focus on Amber while also trying to reach out for the buzzing in his head, hearing it become louder and louder. Unknown to him, his white Aura was starting to turn golden in color as he reached for the buzzing in his head.
Amber was slowly waking up, her eyes opening slightly to see the boy before her and not the magic users next to her. She was not even registering their hands on her shoulders, only seeing the beautiful golden aura flow into her and awaken her own, her aching body-calming itself of the burning feeling that haunted her until now. She smiled looking at him, admitting he looked nice. She closed her eyes again with a small smile, but as she did she saw a hand stretched out to her, offering itself to her. Her body was numb to her once again.
But this hand...It felt warm to her. It was welcoming her somewhere. She reached out for it, taking it and seeing the rest of it form in the outline of the young man before her, then a bright glow blinded her again, leaving her in the dark.
"Amber?" A voice came as a ringing flooded her ears, one familiar to her. Her body felt numb, but she could still make out the feeling of being shaken by her shoulders. "Amber, can you hear me?" The voice came again, the one that told her of her purpose and reason for being alive. The one to set her on her path.
"Oz...pin?" She asked, her throat feeling dry and voice weak. She opened her eyes slowly, noticing the face of the Headmaster of Beacon before her. The man smiled widely seeing her, and she didn't know why.
"Glad to have you back, Amber." He said, then Amber finally noticed where she was and remembered what happened last time. The ambush, her power, and the aftermath. She looked around and at herself, noticing the medical pod and her attire. She tried to get up, but her muscles were weak, barely able to lift her arms. But Ozpin helped her. "Get her a wheelchair!" He shouted, Glynda, going over to the side and bringing one for her, Ozpin seating her gently in it.
"What...happened?" She asked again, then she looked around the room to see the young man from before sitting on the floor, looking exhausted, and a strange woman next to him that...that...Her eyes went wide once more as her breathing hitched. "Salem!" She shouted as much as she could, trying to back down, but Ozpin held her.
"It's alright, Amber!" He said quickly. "It's over! Everything is over!" He said again. "Salem is on our side now, the war is over!" She looked at him with a confused expression, the Headmaster giving only a sad smile to the girl. "Your suffering...is over."
"H-how?" She asked, looking around the room at everyone there.
"You will want to hear this story" Everyone turned to the door, seeing Qrow there...with Cinder Arc Fall in tow, the latter looking with wide eyes at the scene before her.
It took about an hour to explain everything to Amber, but it was well worth it. "I see…" She said, looking at Cinder and Salem, who were standing next to each other and looking down. "I...I cannot forgive you for what you have done to me, and tried to do to others. Or for what you have already done." She said.
"We understand," Salem replied, lifting her head to look at her.
"But...If what Ozpin and Jaune say is true and you are trying to make amends, then I guess...I can at least start by giving you a chance to earn your forgiveness, right?" She said, making Cinder and Salem both look at her with stunned faces. Amber snorted seeing them. "No need to look like you have seen a Creep with two heads, I was not joking"
"But...I did this to you!" Cinder said aloud, pointing all around. "I put you here, I attacked you, stole half your power, and-"
"And you got shitfaced drunk, married a guy alongside other seven women, fucked him in a massive orgy, went on a date with him, cried in his arms - You did bad things to me, but it seems karma has already caught on" Amber said, letting out a small laugh as she saw Cinder's face at her words. "What? I was just guessing!"
"Still…" Jaune said, having to seat down after having done all of that. He felt more tired than he should have. "You were pretty spot on."
"Thank you, handsome." She replied with a small tease to Jaune. "But…" Then she got serious. "Giving you the rest of the power?" She asked, pointing at Cinder, then she turned at Ozpin. "Ozpin, you know I always trusted you, but this seems a bit...risky, even for you."
"Believe me, Miss Amber, we tried to tell him, but the Headmaster's mind is made up and changing it is like moving a mountain" Ironwood stated. "Granted, for that reason, we are all here."
"If Miss Arc Fall decides to betray us we will not hesitate to use lethal force" Glynda added, increasing the tension in the room.
"So...I will no longer be the Fall Maiden?" She asked, looking back at Ozpin.
"It may be for the best for your health, Amber. The power seems to still be damaging your body more than helping it and we cannot do the process again. In order to heal you this time I had to use the power I stored in my cane, Kinetic energy gathered over the years of my many lives that I then use to amplify my own magic and that of others. I used 10 lives worth of energy for it and I am afraid I can only do it a few more times before it runs out of power." Ozpin explained. "I know this all goes against what I told you about the Maidens, about Salem, and our goals. But that was before, this is now"
Amber sighed. "Fine. But I will still need help, correct?"
"Only Mister Arc's semblance. If used regularly, it should keep yours strong and allow you to recover." The Headmaster explained. "That shouldn't be an issue, correct, Mister Arc?"
"Not at all." Jaune replied, giving Amber a warm smile.
"And you guys say Cinder will be kept under watch?" Amber asked again.
"Nonstop by yours truly!" Qrow said. "We are not trusting her fully until she proves herself!"
"I hope you will not watch me while I change as well, Drunk bird" Cinder replied to Qrow, who put his hands up in defense.
"The only one who has that right here is your blonde husband" He replied, making Cinder blush at the thought. "Ha! Got her!" He shouted, Jaune now seeing his resemblance to Yang.
"Are you ready to begin the transfer?" Ozpin asked Amber, who looked at him and nodded. She had always trusted the old wizard, no matter what. Even if this is a risk, it is not the biggest one Ozpin took in his many lives and she knows it. The wizard then looked up at his ex-wife. "Salem, let us begin the process." He said, to which she left the side of her husband and went to Ozpin, Amber, and Cinder, the other giving them some space.
"How does this work?" Cinder asked, Salem standing behind her.
"Simple; since I was the one to create the Maidens, I will be the one to extract the other half from Amber with Salem offering her power" Ozpin began.
"Then I will guide it to Cinder and let the two combine into one again" Salem finished, raising her hands. "Let us begin. Oh, also, The process will be painful, for both of you."
"Wait, what-AHHHH" Amber began to scream.
"What do you mean, MistresssSSSS-AHHHHH" Then Cinder started to scream as well.
Safe to say Jaune felt bad that they had to go through this much pain, but he knew there was nothing he could do but watch. He saw a mass of auburn light emerge from Amber, then the girl falling limp on her wheelchair, then flying into Cinder, the girl being knocked on her back as the process finished, Ozpin looking unsteady and having to actually use his cane to not fall. "It is done." He said, panting. "The transfer is complete."
Cinder slowly got up, looking at her own hands and feeling the power within her, her eyes, both of them, blazing them with the magic. Ironwood, Glynda, and Qrow all stood on guard, but Jaune went to her first. "Cinder?" He called out to her, looking at her. For a moment he swore he saw anger in her, the one directed at everyone around her for pushing her around. But it faded quickly as he came into her view, grabbing her hand. "It's ok." He reassured her, then the magic died down, Cinder slowly going to him.
"I...I am the Fall Maiden." She said, Jaune hugging her tightly and Cinder returning the hug. "I have power...So why does it not feel better? Why does this feel better?"
He placed a hand on her head. "Because you know you are not alone anymore." He replied, Cinder sitting silently in his arms afterward. Everyone put their weapons down at the sight, even Ironwood sighing.
"Well, it looks like he really did tame them" The General said. "I guess I will leave everything to you, Oz"
"Thank you...James." The Headmaster replied weakly, earning the concern of everyone present.
"Ozpin?" Amber called out to him a bit, feeling a bit dazed from the transfer. Then she watched as the cane hit the ground and Ozpin fell on the ground, his glasses falling and sliding to Ironwood's feet.
"OZPIN!" The General shouted, going to him and picking him up. "Come on, wake up! WAKE UP!" He shook him awake, the old wizard opening his eyes a bit. "What happened?"
Everyone was looking at Ozpin in concern, even Salem and Cinder. Seeing this didn't bring a smile to his lips, however, and only a curse at his misfortune. He hoped to keep it a secret some more, but it seems he cannot hide it anymore. He wasted too much energy on this, a risk he failed to calculate.
"I...I am sick, James." He said, catching the general off-guard. "And...dying."
