(Re-upload, missed the completion of the quest, used a token, fixed some formatting issues, spelling and grammar, small amount of dialogue changed. I can't trust my own eyes, so I got a second pair to check for me. Hopefully, all the issues have been fixed.)

Other fic is a place holder for now, deleting soon.

Dying isn't fun, especially when you have no idea what happened. Last thing I recall is waking up in this place. I can't tell where I am. The best thing to compare it to would-be space, without the stars. I'm just constantly floating, though it doesn't feel like I'm making any distinctive distance. I can't and don't want to, remember how long I've been here, mindlessly floating.

I was expecting something a lot flashier, whether that was the golden gates of heaven or the fiery pits of hell. Not just endless boredom. I look around for what seems to be the thousandth time searching for something, anything that could alleviate the feeling of doing absolutely nothing.

Child. Your patience has been rewarded.

A disembodied voice spoke out, it's voice brushing my mind, almost comforting me.

A lost soul, wandering the endless abyss. No matter how many times I see it, it pains me to look at it.

I want to speak, but having no vocal cords quickly stopped that train of thought.

I apologize, my child, for taking so long. Meetings in # %/? often take up much of my time now.

I can't reply, so I'm just staring at the direction the voice is coming from in hopes he realises.

Not a talkative one I see? Heheh I understand. Spending too much time in the abyss makes some crazy. Well, no matter. I have an offer, my child, exclusive to you.

An offer? Anything to escape from this.

Your last life, forgive me for saying so, was incredibly mediocre. Unfortunately for you, you were born into a normal world with normal people. Yes, you were an average man in an average world.

It continued, I don't usually extend this offer, much less to a primitive human, but frankly, I'm bored. And you are going to be my entertainment, should you wish to be.

Me? Why me?

You're probably thinking 'why me?'. Well, it doesn't HAVE to be you, you were just the nearest soul to me. If you refuse my offer, I will leave you here, floating peacefully in the abyss. There are plenty of wayward souls.

Huh. He must be able to read my thoughts. Well, staying here is not happening. Spending another minute in this place is going to drive me nuts. Yes, Mr Godlike being, I accept your offer.

Good, good. I will be placing you in a new world. I'll be giving you a few gifts, how you use them are completely up to you. Be evil, squashing those who oppose you under your feet. Or be good, saving those who can't protect themselves. It doesn't matter to me. This is purely an experiment of mine. Go wild.

This sounds too good to be true. Is this some sort of test?

No, child. As I said, this is for entertainment purposes. Nothing you do in this life will reflect upon your death. Entertain me well, and I may reward you upon your death.

Now. Here is my gift for you child. My very own experimental design, the Gamer System. Use it well.

Even though I couldn't see it, I felt it's presence leave, rendering me alone again. But the Gamer System? Am I going into a game world?

[Congratulations, you are the first-ever gamer to be chosen by #!?. Do you wish for a quick tutorial?]

A tutorial? Yes, thank you. I don't want to be going in blind.

[How polite. Very well, I am your AI for the game system. I will generate your quests and rewards, which will depend on the difficulty of the quest. Normally, a gamer would be granted 'Gamer's Mind and Body' but at the request of your sponsor, you will only receive Gamer's mind, for a quote on quote, "entertainment purposes". ]

That's fine. I'm just thankful to get out of here at this point. Anyways, whats Gamer's mind? Can I get a quick rundown?

[Of course. Please wait a moment.]

A weird buzzing enters my head and right before me, text appears in front of my eyes.

[Gamer's Mind] (Passive)

The Gamer's Mind protects the user from mental attacks, manipulation, compulsion and any other mind-altering effects.

Nice. That'll be useful, wherever I go. Do I get any other starting powers, system?

[Yes. Also, if you would like, you can name me if that makes things easier for you.]

Alright. A name huh? How about... Sophia? No? How about Lucy?

[Systems commencing renaming operation... Operation complete. My new name is 'Lucy'.]

Great, now that's done. What was the second power you were talking about Lucy?

The previous text seems to fizzle away and replaced with something else.

[Observe](Active) - Level 1

Displays information about the target, such as stats, fears and at a high enough level, deepest secrets.

That'll be so useful. If I can get it to a high enough level, ending fights with just words could be possible.

[Next segment... The universe which you will be sent to... #!? has requested it to be randomly drawn... Drawing universe from a selection of %/?. World chosen. Your world will be the DC universe.]

Huh? The DC universe? What's that?

[Error... Your sponsor has permitted me to restore a portion of your memories. Restoring... Completed.]

A rush spread through my body and I let out a gasp. My brain felt like it was tingling. I remember... The DC universe. That's not good. The DC universe is filled with absolute powerhouses that could wipe me out with a swipe of a hand. I'm totally fucked.

[Next stage. Character creation/selection. Before we begin, you have been given 1000 credits to start your journey. Use these credits wisely. Now, generating character list...]

How the hell am I going to survive DC? You have to have some good powers to have even a chance of surviving...

[Please select your tier:

[Human] - Free

No powers

An extremely small chance to unnaturally gain powers (e.g particle accelerator)

[Random Existing Character] - 100 Credits

Risky but cheap. You gain four characters to select from, chosen randomly from the DC universe. You could get Darkseid or a hero like Condiment King. Choose wisely.

[Low-Tier Meta-human] - 150 Credits

A weak meta-human, whose power is only useful in everyday life. For example, being able to clean clothes at the swipe of a hand or being able to change hair colour at will.

[Mid-Tier Meta-human] - 300 credits

An average Meta-human, who only has one useful superpower e.g flight or invisibility and no other. Mid-Tier meta-humans can become powerful if scaled to their full potential.

[High-Tier Meta-human] - 1000 Credits

A Meta-human with several above-average abilities. Having super-strength and being capable of flight is an example of this.

[Super-Tier Meta-Human] - 2000 credits

A meta-human is capable of worldwide threat. Owning multiple high-levelled powers, a super tier Meta-Human is capable of worldwide destruction.]

The list went on forever, including angels, demons and even gods that cost millions of credits. I can't afford any of those though. I did consider taking the High tier, but having only one powerful ability is a drawback. What would happen if I only got flight? Yeah, I've made up my mind. Randomly selecting is risky, but it's cheap. Saving my credits seems like a good idea.

Lucy, I choose the existing character's option.

[Affirmative. Randomly generating... Four characters have been chosen. Be advised. You will be placed in the early life/origin of the character you pick. The following characters are:

[Joe Chill]

Joe Chill is a low-life criminal residing in Gotham City. Commonly known as the murderer of Bruce Wayne's parents, there is nothing remarkably special about him.

[Hal Jordan]

Hal Jordan is a US army pilot, later kicked out due to assaulting a superior officer. Due to his indomitable willpower, Hal was granted a ring of the Green Lantern Corps. However, there is a large chance you will not be granted this ring, should you choose this option.

[Chuck Taine]

Born on Earth as Chuck Taine, Chuck is better known as Bouncing Boy. He has the power to inflate like a giant ball and bounce around.

[Pamela Isley]

Dr Pamela Lillian Isley, PhD, a Gotham City botanist. Isley, a shy girl, is easily seduced by her professor. Injected with an experimental toxin, Pamela becomes the beautiful Poison Ivy. Able to control plant life on Earth, Pamela is a strong ally or a deadly foe.

My eyes scan over the options in front of me. Honestly, it's better than I thought it was going to be. Joe Chill is immediately off the table, of course, he's just a normal human. My eyes land on Chuck's description. Not him either. It sounds like a lame power. Not going to help me survive much.

I debated back and forth between the last two options. I was leaning towards Hal, just for the fact I knew next to nothing about Ivy's backstory. It says she was injected with something...

From what I remember, Ivy had the potential to be powerful. Controlling plant life is really useful. She could also make truth and seduction pheromones to bring those she wanted under her thumb. She even managed to control superman at one point.

Hal Jordon though. He was one of my favourite league members. But the description is really throwing me off. 'There is a chance you won't be granted the ring.' Without the ring, Hal is just a normal, albeit trained guy. It would be the same a choosing Joe Chill if I didn't get the ring.

And I honestly don't think I would. I don't have too much willpower. But even if I did, it's power is too risky. It's charge only lasts 24 hours, so during a fight and it goes off I could be in trouble.

Yep, Hal's power is off the table. Combined with the fact I might not even get it, it's not worth the risk. That leaves me with Pamela or Poison Ivy. Changing gender should probably be making me nervous, but honestly, I just want to get out of this endless abyss. If I need to become a girl, that's more than an equal trade. Plus her powers are kinda cool.

Lucy, I select Pamela.

[Granted. Because you selected a pre-existing character, the stages of rolling a power and an origin story with credits are skipped. However, you can spend credits to randomly roll another power, should you wish to do so.]

OK... Can I come back to this later? I want to see what else I can spend with credits before I make a decision.

[Affirmative. Commencing the next part of the tutorial... Traits:A trait will come with one benefit and one drawback. Some traits can correlate to the character you chose. You can roll up to 10 traits, but keep in mind some of the weaknesses are stronger than the benefits. Negative traits can eventually be lost, but not until you are high enough level.]

Shit. Another gamble. If I roll the wrong trait, it could mess me up early in the game. But one part of me is itching to do it. What if I get a badass one? Fuck it. Lucy, roll.

[Rolling...]

[Glass Cannon]

You dish out extreme amounts of damage but are unable to take it. Increased damage output and intake.

Not bad. I'll just have to be careful early on, and once I'm high enough I can get rid of the negative part. Let's do another.

[Master Of Plants]

You can control plants with ease, and they follow your will without question. Controlling plants is considerably more effective. However, any other powers you have you are less proficient in using.

Does Ivy have any other powers other than what relates to her plants? I don't recall. Oh well. Lucy, again.

[Narcissistic Personality]

You may feel you are more entitled to things than other people are. You might act selfishly to gain success. You may be unwilling or unable to acknowledge the feelings or needs of others. You care for a few people and love even less. Rare loot drops increased.

Uh-Oh. I feel like this is gonna bite me in the ass later. The rare drop loot increase could be incredible though. I'll just have to try and power level to remove it. I think that's enough for traits. Don't want to get anything worse.

[Understood. The next segment is similar to traits. Perks are bought with credits, and as results have no drawbacks, unlike traits. A maximum of 5 perks can be chosen, each costing 100 credits. Unique perks can also be earned through rewards of certain quests.]

Well, I have 900 credits. There's no drawback to this either. Roll.

[Ninja]

You are quiet, and your footsteps even more so. You can come and go as you please, and no one would be any wiser. Double damage when you hit someone while sneaking. (This can be countered by high-level searching abilities)

Amazing. This will be useful when I'm trying to escape or sneak around someone. Doesn't look like it'll work against high levelled opponents though. Next one.

[Unarmed Combatant]

You are a natural at hand to hand combat, trained by the best. Any unarmed skills progress 50% faster.

Skills? I guess Lucy's going to explain that later. Sound useful though.

[Genius Intellect]

Pamela Isley was a brilliant student of advanced botanical biochemistry. With this perk, Pamela's intelligence has reached a whole new level. Your intelligence rivals the world's greatest minds. Experience increased by 25%.

How is that going to work? I don't feel very smart now. I guess it doesn't take effect till I'm in there. Ok, I'm done with perks for now Lucy. What's next?

[Skills:

Skills can be passively picked up by doing everyday tasks, or specialised tasks such as programming or piloting.

For example:

Biochemistry - Lvl 75(Expert)

Hand to Hand Combat(Boxing) - Lvl 50 (Adept)

Skills are broken into these sections:

Novice

Apprentice

Adept

Expert

Master

The higher level the skill, the better you will be able to perform that specific task.]

That explains the unarmed perk. That'll cover my weaknesses as a ranged combatant. Ivy would use her plants or toxins to attack her enemies. Now I can improve upon that.

[Player Unique Skills - Player Unique skills include your powers and anything else you gain relating to them. Developing your abilities will open the path to access new, stronger abilities. Player Unique skills use SP points to function, unless they are passives.]

I'm guessing that includes my immunity to toxins and the like. Even if it's the DC universe, I can't help but feel excited. When do we start Lucy?

[There are several other topics I need to go over, but you have chosen the core components needed to start your journey. If you like, we can start now, and I can explain the other mechanics of the system later?]

We can do that, but before we go I've decided I want to roll a Mid-Tier power for 300 credits. Just to be safe. Never know if I could need it.

[You chose to spend 300 credits for a mid-tier superpower.]

[Rolling...]

[Congratulations! You gained: Enhanced reflexes.]

[Enhanced Reflexes]

Time seems to slow when something is barreling towards you, and with enhanced reflexes, you'll be able to dodge this. 300 credits remain. Spend another 300?]

That'll go nicely with my hand to hand perk. Lucy, that's everything. OK, I'm ready.

[Affirmative. You will experience a blackout, and you will awake in your new body. #!? wishes you good luck. You will need it.]

I didn't have time to consider what Lucy meant, as my vision faded to black.

Pamela awoke with a groan, her muscles aching. Her entire body felt numb and cold.

[Congratulations! You have been successfully placed in the DC universe. Please select a starting class. Classes grant skills unique to that class.

[Gunslinger] [Thief] [Swordsman] [Brawler] [Mage] [Archer]

She struggled to move her body, it felt despondent and alien to her. She groggily managed to open her eyes, her green orbs exploring the room. She was in some sort of prison room, the walls dank and musty.

A feeling of panic started to rise in her, 'Lucy. Where am I? What's wrong with me?'

[Answer: Please select a class before asking any questions.]

Pamela took several deep breaths and pushed herself up against the wall with a grunt. Sitting in front of her eyes were the starting classes to choose from.

'I don't care. Anything. Just tell me where I'm at.'

[Error. That is not an acceptable answer. Please choose again.]

'What a shitty system. Fine. Brawler. I choose brawler.'

[Brawler class chosen. The according skills have been added to your arsenal. To answer your previous question, you are in the secret laboratory of Dr Jason Woodrue.]

'You didn't tell me this would happen. What the fuck is this?'

[You were told you would be placed in the early life/origin of the character. This is Poison Ivy's origin story.]

Pamela went to reply but was interrupted by the clicking of the cell door. Someone was opening it. She tried to stand, to no avail.

A figure was present at the door, staring her down. He held a clipboard in one hand.

"Pamela. How are you feeling?"

"Who the fuck are you?"

He walked up to her, his eyes exploring her figure. Crouching to be on the same level, "Hmmm, I see. Amnesia seems to be a side effect. Interesting."

"I asked you a question. Answer me, vermin."

The doctor let out a dry chuckle, "My, you're a far cry from the sweet Pamela I knew. Another side effect is a new personality developing, perhaps? More research needed."

The man stood, muttering to himself, "She seems very weak. Might not survive the injection. Should start searching for a new subject."

He began to walk off, not sparing her another glance. She gritted her teeth. The feeling of being ignored... It infuriated her. Especially from this lowlife man.

"Answer me, you scumbag. Where are we and who are you?"

Internally, Pamela was confused.

'That wasn't what I wanted to say. Is this a side effect of the Narcissistic Personality?'

"Scumbag? I may be many things, but a scumbag is not one of them. My work here could save humanity from collapse," the man sighed, "But I understand why you may be angry. I injected you with an experimental toxin, hoping to complete an experiment of mine. The results are... inconclusive at the moment. So I need you to stay here until then."

"The toxin, what is it doing to me? I feel numb and cold."

He scribbled a few notes on his clipboard before replying, "It seems to be changing you, on a cellular level. Your DNA is morphing into something unknown. This is a phenomenon, possibly never seen before. That's why I need to keep you here."

She snapped back, "I don't want to be kept here. At this rate, I'll die. I can feel it."

"That's not an option. This experiment is very illegal and violates countless laws. You'll be staying with me, whether you live or not. Worry not, this is for the good of mankind."

He left, not waiting for her response, the door slamming behind him.

The Mad Scientist - Origin Quest

You have been kidnapped, immorally experimented on and close to death.

Difficulty: Very hard

Objective: Escape, or manage to survive Woodrue's experiments.

Bonus:?

Bonus:?

Rewards: Gacha Token, Dungeon access, Store access, 2000XP

Penalties: Death, return to the abyss

She barely managed to read the quest appearing in front of her, glaring at the door where Woodrue had just left, her eyelids refusing to cooperate with her. She felt herself falling back into the darkness of unconsciousness, her last thought on her mind was how she was going to kill Jason Woodrue.

-Later

Hunger.

Hunger was gnawing at my stomach, my organs feeling like they were eating themselves in a desperate bid for nutrients. I don't know how long I've been down here now, a week? Two? I lost count a while ago. Jason feeds me rarely, claiming it's for 'the good of science'. Every night I imagine my hands around his neck, squeezing the life out of him.

But that day hasn't come yet. I'm trying to save my strength, analyse the times he seems to be looking on the cameras. But it's random. Sometimes he comes when I'm asleep, and others when I'm just awakening. There's no strategy to his checkups. The only reason I haven't lost hope is because of the quest. There's a way to escape, I just haven't found it yet.

Oh, and I think I heard another patient across from my laboratory the last time Woodrue checked on me. The best thing about Woodrue is that he talks to himself, thinking you can't hear him. He mentioned something about 'Venom' and it's experiments. Maybe there's a chance I could contact the patient and we could organise an escape.

Yesterday, my skin started to turn green at the soles of my feet. Looks like the transformation is starting to take hold of me. I've checked my skills though, and nothing plant-related has appeared. Though, I do have some skills from the brawler class I chose.

[Krav Maga] - Lvl 1

Krav Maga is a military self-defence and fighting system developed for the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli security forces. A deadly martial art, skilled users can render their opponents immobile easily.

Sounds pretty cool. But unless this world has the same technique, does that mean my classes can borrow techniques from other worlds? Something to look out for. Lucy also told me I can take on a different class once I maxed it out.

But right now I'm stuck here, and every minute is a minute I could have been becoming stronger. I've looked for ways to escape, but the only thing in here is a barely functioning toilet. I've thought about making a run for it once he opens the door, but at some parts of the day, I can hardly stand. Combine that with the fact I have no idea of the layout of the building, I'd get caught easily. The only thing I can rely on is my eventual powers, but I have no idea how long they'll take to manifest.

Honestly, if this is what the original Ivy went through I have no doubt she'd become a man-hating villain. If it wasn't for gamer's mind, I'm sure I would have gone insane by now...

"Pamela. I've discovered a breakthrough. This is incredible."

My eyes land on the form of Jason, standing at the doorway of the cell. A voice whispered to me I could kill him, he was just a worthless worm, my first victim to conquer. I pushed that to the back of my mind. That wasn't going to help me escape.

"The pigment change on your foot to green, I took a sample of it while you were sleeping. The findings are nothing short of incredible. You have started to develop your very own chloroplasts. This could be... This could be revolutionary."

If I wasn't already aware of what I was becoming, I probably would have been shocked. I stood there with a stoic face.

"Not surprised? Or maybe you don't care. Either way, it's spreading through your whole body. I estimate in about a month, you'll be completely covered."

I tried to ignore his ramblings at first, but as time went on I just listened. He was the only human contact I had. In the abyss, I didn't mind it. It was just boring. I wasn't hungry, nor angry or tired. I was just bored. But now... I'm aching, hungry, numb, angry and everything else on the emotional spectrum...

Woodures voice snapped me back to reality, "There's a problem though. Due to this, your anatomy will change. Instead of food, you'll require sunlight...which is a problem. Taking you out into daylight will raise a few problems... Not to mention your attempts to escape will prove difficult to stop."

Maybe this was a chance.

"I won't escape. Where would I go now? You've turned me into a monster. If what you're saying is true, no one will want to be near me anymore. Green skin, it's not the most desired trait in a woman."

Woodrue was looking at me with a face of scepticism, "Hmmm. Well, we can worry about that when the time comes. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to see my other patient."

He left the cell again, silence beginning to fill the room once more.

-Later(?)

I estimate it was a week later when I got the notification.

[Transformation into 'Poison Ivy' 50% complete.]

The green pigmentation reached just above my belly button now. I noticed something else too... Everything that had been turned green so far became more... Pristine? My waist had become curvier too. Honestly, I hadn't had much time to dwell on my new appearance as a girl. But when my body starts transforming before my eyes, I start to notice. I guess this is how Ivy got her supernatural looking attractiveness.

But 50%? That means I'll have to spend another god knows how long here until I can escape. But at least there's hope.

Lucy?

[Host. What do you require?]

Could we go over what I missed in the abyss place? You said their things that I missed.

[Of course. This is an introduction to your 'Character Sheet' so to speak.]

Pamela Ivy - Level 1

HP:110

MP:100(Magic-based attacks)

SP: (Player power-based attacks)

STR:28

CHA:50

LUK:10

WIS:19

INT:42

DEX:25

CON:10

[Would you like a breakdown of each stat?]

I would appreciate it. I think I know what most of them do, but better to be safe.

[Affirmative:STR: The overall damage of your physical attacks.

CHA: Charisma influences a lot of different things, such as dialogue, but is primarily used to influence the Affection mechanic.

LUK: Affects how lucky you are. Will you find a 20 dollar bill on the street? Increases chances of loot drops.

WIS: Affects MP and strength of magic-based attacks.

INT: Affects skills and experience. Higher INT means faster skill progression.

DEX: Your agility and sneaking.

DEX determines how fast and agile you are.

CON: Affects your health. Higher CON means higher health.

Every time you level, you gain 5 points to invest into stats. At a new level milestone, for example, level 5, you will gain an extra 5 points to invest. You will continue to onlygain 5 until your next milestone, level 10, which will reward you with an extra 10 points to invest. Each level milestone will add another 5 to invest. At level 50, you will gain 50 extra points to invest.

Reaching a milestone with a stat can grant you a unique perk or skill, and at high levels, remove the negative effects of your traits.]

My CON is so low. I'm guessing that's due to glass cannon though. My charisma is super good though. As well as my intelligence. Lucy, what is the affection mechanic?

[The Affection mechanic determines how well-liked you are. If you ask someone with high affection a favour, they will most likely heed your request. It is possible to get rewards from reaching high affection levels with unique characters.]

So high charisma will come in real handy, I'm glad it's so high. How do I tell someone's affection meter with me?

[Affection Mechanic is currently locked due to incomplete origin quest, along with the Reputation System.]

Of course it is. Just my luck. There goes my plan of escaping.

[There is also the Gacha system. If you receive a Gacha token and use it, you will pull a random item from all known universes.]

Gacha token? That's a reward for the quest to escape. Interesting. Wish I had one now, maybe I'd finally get some good fucking food.

I sigh, dismissing the text. My eyes land on my cell door. Maybe I can get a message across to the guy next door. I don't want to wait for my transformation to complete to escape.

I hoist myself up, my bare feet feel cold, yet comfortable as I limp towards my cell door.

There's a small latch, but Jason has left it partly open. Idiot. I place my eye against it, and for the first time in what seems like forever, I'm greeted with something other than the site of my barren room. There's a small hallway, twisting and turning for what looks like a while. It's mostly dark but there's a few flickering lights in the hallway that briefly illuminate it.

Across from my cell sits a massive door, easily 3 or four times bigger than mine. Looks a lot more reinforced too. There's a sign above it, a name or a title, but due to the lack of light, I can't see it. Whatever's in there is big though.

I bang on my cell door, "Hey! Big guy!? You in there?"

Silence.

Woodrue was probably watching me on the cameras now, but I couldn't really care anymore. I'm too precious for him to kill at this point. I'm the only subject to have survived the injection so far.

"Helloooo? Don't ignore me you coward!"

A heavy accent called from the door, "Coward? I am no coward."

I let out a breath of relief. There is someone in there.

"Finally. What you doing here big guy?being held here against your own will?"

It took a few moments for the man to respond, "Yes. I was transferred here from Pena Dura. But that no longer matters."

I brush my hair from my face, briefly noting some strands turning red, "Listen. If we work together, we can escape here. Do you have any information that could help us escape?"

The man responded with a heartless laugh, "Fighting til' the end? I admire that in a woman. But there is no escape here. Well, there is one way."

I smile to myself. I knew asking this guy would be the best course of action.

"If there is one way to escape, it's in a body bag. I have seen many leave that way, from your cell."

What an asshole. I feel like punching this guy. What a hopeless view to have.

"You're a funny guy. You might have given up, but I haven't. If you aren't gonna help me, I'll do it myself. And when I get out, I'll drag you with me just to prove you're wrong."

"What spirit! My people would love you. I thought like you, a while ago. Not anymore," he went silent for a few moments, "What is your name?"

"Ivy."

No point in giving my real name. Who knows who this guy is.

"Ivy? Nice to meet you. My old name no longer matters. Call me Bane."

-Later(?)

[Transformation into 'Poison Ivy' is 75% complete.]

My skin was almost completely green now, going to about my shoulders now. Most of my hair was the colour red now, and it was a lot more silky and soft. I liked it. Especially when I haven't showered for months now.

I've talked to Bane a few times since our first meeting, to pass time but Woodrue often interrupted. Bane did most of the talking, telling me about his prison life. The shock of him and Ivy being experimented on by the same person wore off, eventually. It wasn't mentioned, or maybe this is just a whole new version of the universe.

Bane was here because Woodrue was experimenting on him with a drug, called Venom. The substance that turns Bane into a mini-hulk. I did ask him why he didn't try to escape while under the effects, but he just offhandedly commented the walls were built to strong. It did worry me a little, but I have faith that when my transformation is complete I'll be able to get out. Woodrue still comes in, though less often now. Is he afraid of me?

Regardless, he hasn't mentioned anything about me going into the sunlight. I've played nice, listening to his often incoherent ramblings without saying a word. I haven't acted too aggressive, but it's hard when the Narcissistic perk is influencing me to call him every insult under the sun.

He doesn't feed me much food anymore, just tablets with various vitamins in. Strangely, they're more filling than normal food. I guess it has something to do with my changing anatomy.

The thought of escaping and being free in the DC world to do what I want is intoxicating. I've somewhat planned on my course of action. I have no clue which city I'm in at the moment, but I plan to head to Gotham as soon as possible. Now, why go to Gotham? Because I want to make connections. I have no clue where I'm on at the timeline, but if it's as early as I think it is, I can gather some serious allies before anything of great significance happens.

Unless I'm in a DC Universe where everything is completely fucked and changed, like Batman being the villain and Joker being the hero.

I also noticed on the quest reward 'Dungeon Access' which means I can do some power levelling when I'm out of here. I want to be as strong as possible. Being captured like this is agonising, as well as humiliating. A part of me is glad I got Woodrue, there's a lot of deranged men out there who would do a lot worse than just hold out on feeding me.

I still want him dead though.

I did have problems outside of this cell as well. Namely, threats that threaten this world. Doomsday, Darkseid, Trigon and every other evil psychopath roaming the universe. Well, that's for future Pamela to worry about.

[Transformation into 'Poison Ivy' is 99% complete.]

I woke up to that and felt like crying, tears of happiness of course. Almost the entirety of my skin was green now, with Woodrue commenting it was just a few patches on my forehead. My skin was smooth, and I smelled constantly of a rose-like smell. My hair had grown a lot too, going from just my shoulders down to the lower area of my spine.

Bane had commented on my voice changing too, sounding more sly, almost seductive. Well, he didn't exactly say that but he heavily implied it. I didn't notice a change, but I believed him because I received a perk when I woke up that day.

[Ethereal Beauty]

You are unnaturally beautiful. Your voice weakens the will of men and women alike. Only a few rival your beauty. This perk grants affection when initially meeting someone. It is random, between the numbers of 1-20.

Turning green does have it's perks. Seriously though, this could be a game-changer for gathering allies. Killer Croc wants to eat me? 15 affection and now he likes me. Unfortunately, Woodrue didn't seem affected by it. Whether that was because the Affection Mechanic was still locked, or because he swung the other way, it didn't work on him.

I pace the room, unable to contain my excitement. Any day now, and I'll be free to go. Free to do whatever I wanted. And I could finally snap the scrawny man's neck. The joy I would feel when I saw the life leaving his disgusting eyes...

A bang broke me from my thoughts. It sounded like a gun. I heard rapid footsteps from above, beating on the floor like drums. I move to my cell door, peering from the crack Woodrue left open.

"Bane, did you hear that? Sounded like a gun."

"Think the coward finally ended his miserable existence?"

I let out a chuckle, "Here's hoping. Though, I guess we'd be stuck here."

"Ye-"

The sound of what sounded like boots marching on the ground interrupted him, getting closer with each second that passed.

Bane grunted, pressing against his cell door, trying to get a look. Looks like he didn't have a peephole as I did.

The hallway lights still flickered, Woodrue not bothering to fix or replace them. There's something moving, but I can't seem to catch a solid glimpse.

"Hellloooo? Visiting hours are over, I'm afraid."

No answer. The hell was Woodrue at when you needed him? These guys here to destroy evidence of experimentation or something? Just when I nearly have my powers...

"Ma'am, are you in one of these cells? It's important you answer me."

A voice called from the darkness. I was debating not to answer back, but what happens if this is my ticket out of here?

I shouted, "Yes. I'm in the cell near the back. Who are you, people?"

The boots moved closer and I could finally see the figures. Dressed in blue, a squadron of officers floated down the hallway.

They reached my cell, murmuring among each other.

"Hold on Ma'am, we're going to get this door open for you. We're the authorities, searching for a missing Pamela Isley. Is that you ma'am?"

They finally found me huh? Took them months to do it. What took them so long?

"Yeah, that's me. Don't be alarmed when you open the door, I've been... Changed."

The officers on the other side of the door went silent.

"Changed?"

Time to put my less than average acting skills to use.

I began to cry, a shakiness entering my voice, "Ye-yes. Woodrue, he-he did something terrible to me. He changed me."

[Acting skill has been created. Acting skill is partly influenced by charisma.]

"I understand ma'am. It's okay now, you're safe."

The door shook, thanks to what must be a battering ram or something alike. I smiled. Freedom was coming.

Light bathed the room as the door collapsed, the door that had stopped me from leaving for so long. The officers entered the room, eyeing me warily.

"Ma'am, what did he do to you? Your skin... It's green."

I let out a choked sob, "He injected me with something... It hurt so much... I couldn't move..."

They stepped closer, obviously wanting to help, but were afraid.

"Your skin, is it toxic? We'll have to get a specialized team out here if so."

I shook my head, "No... Woodrue, he didn't get sick when he was near me."

They looked at each other, nodding.

"It's okay, Pamela. Let's get you out of here. You're safe now. He can't hurt you."

"My friend, he's in the cell opposite of me. You need to help him."

"We'll get a team on it right away, Ma'am."

They wrapped a blanket around me, mostly covering my skin. We walked down the stretching corridor, the one I dreamed of leaving one day. Those months of torture were finally over. My real life in this world can finally begin.
