Chapter 1
Itadori watched the movie played before him with wavering interest. Grabbing a chip and eating it, he looked to the clock above the door.
"If you want to leave, do it," grumbled his grandfather. The elderly man seemed annoyed with his presence.
"After this movie, then," Itadori replied as he again set his sight on the movie. "I want to see what happens."
A comfortable silence then settled in as grandfather and grandchild watched the movie together.
"Pass me some chips."
Itadori looked to his grandfather with an eyebrow raised. "Aren't you not allowed chips?"
His grandfather scoffed at him. "Do you think they would allow you to bring in food that is unsafe for me? Pass it here."
Mildly embarrassed at the reprimand, Itadori conceded and handed the bag of chips to his grandfather.
Turning back to the movie, he leaned back a bit more, and in the absence of the bag of chips, his body settled with crossing his arms.
The silence would have resumed if it weren't for the sudden and abrupt shaking.
The whole building shook, some appliances fell onto the ground destroying them. The lights and television flickered as the power routed to it were being interfered with.
"Stupid world!" his grandfather yelled as he sat upright and held the railing of his bed.
Itadori settled with grabbing the wall railing on his right.
Eventually, all power cut out as the shaking continued without end. This left them in a nearly pitch-black room as all the power from the entire block or perhaps the city was cut.
Itadori pulled himself up slightly as he looked outside the window. There he saw panic spread out as the car lights of the cars on the roads illuminated their panic.
"Get away from the windows, you idiot!"
Itadori turned away from the window and sat on his seat, bracing himself for any possible occurrence.
After a few more seconds, everything stilled.
Almost immediately after the shakings stopped, the power came to life again, lighting up the room and powering the television once more.
"-ment. We have yet to receive word from our scientists, who had previously not reported anything..."
Itadori turned away from the television and to his grandfather. "Are you okay, gramps?"
"I'm okay," his grandfather grumbled as he laid back on his bed.
"Did you feel it? The overwhelming power emanating from the sky?" a man clad in black robes inquired from his companion.
Said companion was on the floor gasping for air. Her blonde hair was a mess and drool leaked from her lips.
"I-I guess so..." she muttered as she caught her breath and wobbled to her feet.
"Go check on the others, I shall check my pets."
Despite her obvious weakness in body and soul, the woman nodded. "Of course, master Geto."
With his companion now gone, Geto opened a portal and walked through it, entering his domain. There, he found a large variety of curses that he had captured and tamed.
Yet, almost half of them were gone having been seemingly exorcised by the unknown source of energy.
"Quincy! Quincy! Quincy!" a unique type of curse shrieked in its cage as around it laid piles of ashes of its suddenly dead kin. "I don't want to die!"
"Oh? Tell me about these... Quincies."
The goat-like mask of the curse turned towards Geto, more fear being displayed in its eyes. "Shinigami! Exorcise me! I don't want to die!" it shrieked as it grabbed the bars of its cage and shook it in desperation.
Geto merely raised an eyebrow. "Shinigami?" he questioned.
"Heaven's Fall" incident report.
Subject: "Heaven's Fall"
1. SYNOPSIS
a. PHASE I: The first phase of the incident began with a 9.2 earthquake, as confirmed by a civilian source, which was felt throughout the world. The United States of America reported to have been hit by a 5.4 and Germany has been reportedly hit by a 5.7. From the first world countries, an estimated 6,000 people have died along with an estimated $120 billion in damages.
Japan alone received the worst of it despite the country's earthquake preparation efforts, with an estimated 600 deaths and $12 billion in damages.
b. PHASE II: The second phase was only felt by spiritually aware people, specifically practitioners of the Jujutsu arts. An overwhelming pressure forced people to the ground, depriving many of the weaker people to pass out or die. Estimated jujutsu sorcerer deaths due to this are confirmed to be around 12.
Note: Grade 1 and above seem to be largely unaffected by this pressure. Alternatively, grade 3 and 4 sorcerors have been observed to be affected with the worst effects which include passing out and death. However, civilians are shown not to be affected.
2. CAUSE
a. CURSE-USERS: This is the most likely cause as the other possibilities are either almost entirely unknown or an alibi is given.
b. GOJO SATORU: The most powerful jujutsu sorcerer in existence, can destroy entire mountains utilizing a single technique. However, the possibility of being the cause is nearly null due to having an alibi given by Principal Yaga, who is shown to be very cooperative with the council.
c. SHINIGAMI: The reapers of death, the people who have the rural areas and towns under their jurisdiction. Being an ancient and secluded order, they deal exclusively with the dead. Due to the Genryusai-Zenin Deal, the last recorded sight of a Shinigami was 6 years ago.
The reason why they are on the list of possible causes is due to their unimaginable power. It is recorded that a single captain of the Shinigami, Captain Takefurukuma, was able to defeat and seal the King of Curses, Sakuna.
REFERENCE: It is said that an average shinigami is graded at Grade C. Hence, a captain is estimated to be around Special Grade. With its captain-commander said to be able to destroy the world.
Another reason why they are seen to be a cause is due to their place of residence. A heaven-like place called "soul society". The location of which is unknown, theories range from underneath the Earth, to the sky, another planet, or a separate dimension.
Present
Kurosaki Ichigo looked out from the bus window. His chocolate eyes taking in the bustling city of Tokyo.
In his hand, he rubbed the shinigami badge.
"Tickets... Tickets... Tickets..."
Attached to the ceiling above him, a monstrosity of a being clung to it, sludging back and forth. Its hideous form being unseen yet felt by the other occupants of the bus.
"Tickets..."
"Tokyo is weird."
