When Black Sperm researched online to see if he could use an already existing stadium for his purposes, he found the City C Super Stadium.
As large as it was and well suited to his purposes Black Sperm decided it wasn't large enough. So he built his own stadium to hold the tournament, which evolved into a whole set of different buildings.
The Sperm Combat Complex was a series of multiple large interconnected buildings that housed training rooms, small arenas, one large open arena, and also included other minor empty rooms inside yet to be used. It had been created in less then a month through the use of Black Sperm's nearly infinite pool of manpower, and designed primarily by himself and Genus for use in their future projects yet to be implemented.
For Black Sperm's current project, the facility was to be used for his first 'weapons & mixed martial arts' tournament. A tournament in which the best of the best of fighters would be competing for a grand prize.
However at the moment there were very few people who were actually in the tournament, due to Black Sperms extensive qualification test that rendered most ordinary fighters incapable of entering the tourney. Thus the total amount of contenders became a mere sixteen.
As of now they were all together in one of the buildings many large rooms, a white room with white simplistic furniture coupled alongside basic refreshments.
Gathered together, the main tournament was soon to start.
...
As Kamikaze entered the room he was greeted by an array of various martial artists with either nods are mute glances.
He recognized quite a few of them. Then of course saw Bang among them, the man nodded in approval at his presence. The master of the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist was a good acquaintance after all.
Kamikaze then recognized the man next to Bang, his brother Bomb, master of his own style called the Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist.
The third next to them was Suicho if he remembered correctly, master of the Void Fist. He had met the man once on a visit to challenge Bang, the two old me were apparently good friends.
The next one on the other end of the room he recognized right away as Goukestu, an up and coming powerful fighter notable for not having forged a specific technique, but instead his style was that of pure power and force. Not too dissimilar to himself really, which was how he had heard of the guy.
The master of the Purgatory Abyss Fist, an older black haired man few people knew where he came from, or his real name. Only the simple fact that he appeared one day and usurped a previously popular dojo for himself in City G.
The next one was Angeal, master of the Heart-Blast Release Fist. He was a rather... notorious person due to his very particularly 'male loving' personality and unconventional means of winning. Kamikaze would have considered the man a sham if Angeal didn't possess a decent amount of physical bulk, giving at least some credit to his mainly offensive style.
Another was a blonde haired man wearing a tiger striped outfit called Doro. Master of the Tiger Fan True Fist, another renown fighter known primarily to have killed an incredibly large tiger with his own bar hands.
Seated in other chairs or standing were other masters he vaguely recognized but didn't really know much about besides a few. Having heard about a couple of them through various conversations and simple journeying throughout the cities. Except for one of them, the oldest one of them.
His name was Shinshoku, the eldest of all competitors at the age of one hundred and fourty six. He was a shrunken elderly man with long white hair with small black and beady eyes. The ancient master of the legendary martial arts style called Power Reversal Fist. One of Bangs mentors. Anybody that knew about anything martial arts or fighting had heard of him.
Power Reversal Fist was set of techniques wherein the user uses a specific set of motions to divert an opponents body weight and attacks against them, while also being able to avoid damage entirely if skilled enough.
Although his style was definitely famous it had been nearly fifty years since the man participated in anything martial arts related from what Kamikaze rememberd, supposedly having retired from public life while his former student Bang had established and inherited parts of the old mans style for his own he had created with his Brother.
Even then, Bang established his own dojo only another couple decades after his own former master had long retired. So why was he here?
Kamikaze voiced his opinion aloud. "Hey old coot, why the hell are you here? I thought you retired before I was born?"
Shinshou cackled. "Our sperm-like friend did advertise this event as, the best of the best, so I thought it fitting that I make a small cameo."
They were then interrupted by the voice of Black Sperm.
"Alright!" The fighters looked over to him.
"So! Even though we only have sixteen guys here... that is fine, the tournament will proceed as normal. Just faster and more exciting! There will be eight matches today! Four matches tomorrow! And then finally two matches plus the final match the next day. Each day eliminating half of you again and again up until the final round.
Each one of you will be assigned to a fighter to speed things up. The matches will now be shown at the screen behind me. I'll have some of myself guide you to the main arena, and answer any miscellaneous questions you might have."
The screen lit up showing the brackets with names in pairs at the bottom of it.
Kamikaze observed the screen, scanning the names until he saw his own. He was matched up against the tiger guy it seems...
Winning against someone who's biggest achievement is killing some overgrown tiger shouldn't be much of a problem.
Kamikaze glanced at the tiger killer, and his callous fists.
Those hands are no joke though, if he trained enough the. they could just as dangerous as my own sword. I should slash those first to avoid any problems later on...
Kamikaze felt a tug at his robe.
"Arena, fight, you remember?"
"Yeah yeah, lead away."
On the drive to the tournament area I was again contemplating the purpose of it, that purpose being making one of my primary goals easier.
My current most important primary goal, getting my little Tatsumaki to break her limiter, and some friends.
I considered what I could do within an eighteen year timeframe and ten year old Tatsumaki, and decided on a few things related to her training.
To break her limiter, her physical one, I would need the perquisites of at the very least: Willpower, desire, buildup of physical strength, and near death experiences potentially occurring through combat. All of which required various individual training and cultivation to varying degrees.
Saitama broke through his own limiter presumably due to fulfilling the all of the above prerequisites, though for some undetermined reason he had lost his hair.
I theorized it might be a sacrifice for his power, but my pastime anime research in my old life resulted in me discovering that technically his training regime he used wasn't a 'proper' one. So using that knowledge I came up with my own theory that Saitama potentially could have kept his hair if he trained and fought just as hard but had a more realistic training regiment.
It was only really a guess but for Tats sake to not go bald I decided to run with for now. Until proven otherwise.
I decided to put Tatsumaki on a more natural growth path to see if similar training alongside some form of substitute intense physical training would provide similar effects, since the all 100 regiment might strain her child body, either to the point of failure or success with a sacrifice as I mentioned. And I didn't want to exactly have Tatsumaki make any significant physical sacrifice yet when she could barely understand how to handle a sword.
Though she was getting better at it. I think.
Hopefully my new idea would provide the benefits of ultimate power without the need to sacrifice some aspect of herself, but I wasn't too sure since I was basing this plan off an unconfirmed theory.
Alternatively she could break her psychic limiter if she was pushed in a different direction. But I had absolutely no understanding of psychic powers or the same limiter could be applied to other things.
Should research that, there's esper books on the internet right? Wasn't that how Psykos saw the future? Or was it a book from some library... Maybe I should have Genus look into that... somehow.
I knew a physical limiter existed, but for other aspects of the human body and different powers I wasn't sure. I could use the theory that Genus broke his knowledge or mental limiterhavingdeveloped the ability to create clones and restore his youth, but it was also just as possiblethat Genus was just uniquely smart in human geneticsand it was unrelated.
It was something to mess around with.
Not yet.
There was only one reason I didn't want to subject a prepubescent Tatsumaki to experimentation and dangerous training such as limiter breaking or physically straining exercise before adulthood, as I had decided somewhat recently. For one minor but important reason, she was under the age of consent.
Tatsumaki was underage and I was supposed to be a protective and providing parental figure thus she couldn't agree properly to my volatile plans to make her overpowered. Plus she did just escape a lab, so that would be like trading one experimentation jail cell for another. So... no limit breaker yet.
I'll simply wait it out and focus on the basic training for her health. It was only eight years until she becomes an adult, then ten more until catastrophe strikes, so plenty of time.
In the meanwhile I'd spoil Tats, then at the age of eighteen I would carefully ask her permission to further develop her training, but consult her opinions on how we could avoid being vaporized by aliens to see if she could come up with any ideas herself. Alerting her to how dire the situation is, while making sure she knows the risks involved and can make a good judgement if the danger and possible sacrifice is worth the reward.
To put it simply: Train till eighteen, ask for permission to evolve, then experiment in controlled environments with Genus, and etc. A very basic version of the plan I came up with to supplement my larger ideas.
That was where my strategic RPG video games that I gave to Tatsumaki came into play. I needed her to have an understanding of how exactly I viewed this dangerous situation, so I could have an easier time persuading her to accept different types of training.
There was an overpoweredfinal boss that required extreme grinding, or specifically cheating to beat. So despite being naturally overpowered herself she needed to do something so her 95% win rate against monsters would be 100%.
Because 5% chance means humanity is mostly screwed, because then that responsibility would fall to me, a Saitama that may or may not exist yet, and me who wasn't prepared yet.
Boros was both a melee and ranged fighter, thus Tatsumaki needed melee of her own to some degree, thus my training plan. Or higher base defense stats then magic... or psychic defense I mean.
Tats was human I'm pretty sure, and Boros seems to punch pretty hard...
Shouldn't neglect the psychic powers either. That was her go-to ability and the one thing that I knew was the best at.
Pushing her psychic powers to the limit might be asking for much. She did scrunch up the entire Monster Association base after all...
Could normal Tatsu kill Boros with a hard squeeze? That would be extremely convenient, although a bit anticlimactic.
I looked over to Tatsumaki sitting on my right. Holding what looked vaguely like a PSP, but had a different name here. She was gaming right now, eyes darting forth between a few different parts of the screen. Her fingers pushing buttons, as what one usually does.
What game was that again...? Hmm, oh right the Street Fighter rip off. Haha, she's really getting into the mood huh? Though I guess I did buy it for her...
"Hey Dad? Will any of the people in the tournament shoot fire like in my game?"
I considered it for a moment. Only one of the A class heroes came to mind that could shoot fire, but that was just a mini flamethrower, Blue Fire I think? None came to mind besides Blast for guys that uniquely energy based abilities.
Homeless Emperor. But that guy was gifted powers by my de facto mortal enemy, so a moot point...
Hrm... Genos... but cyborg. Oh fuck I forgot about that, dead village and family, evil cyborg, I really need to send out scouts for him and Kuseno soon, and Metal Knight. After I get out of the car, because that's going to happened pretty soon? During Saitama's training or more before?
Oh I guess that's still awhile away, though protecting human settlements on the outskirts of society is something I should probably do anyway. My responsibility to save as many lives as possible.
Cell stock... is it better the spread them out? I guess it's technically safer then all piled up in one place. Though I'd need to expand my logistics system to keep all my selves updated. Brings up an interesting discussion about infrastructure out there. Can I make my own railway system?
"Uh dad?" Tatsumaki pulled my arm.
Oops, sorry spaced out there.
"Oh... I don't think so. They'll all move faster then your game definitely, we'll have to watch and see if any of them can do that though."
Tatsumaki stared at me for a moment before nodding, then she went back to the screen, pressing buttons.
Was this good parenting...?
I think it was... I doubt I could do any worse to her personality then how she turned out in the original world, a violent tsundere that insults and disrespects everyone.
Tatsumaki's fun stuff I gave her was balanced out anyways by other things anyway, training, education through life lessons, whatever my tutor cells came up with, so it was all perfectly fine.
My current internal monologue stopped when I felt the vehicle park.
We got out and right away I decided we would sit and watch the matches from in a little private area up in one of the taller buildings. Something resembling a combination of an office and break room.
No particular reason why we were gonna be sitting inside and not in the main benches.
Well I mean I guess I did want keep Tatsumaki away from the crowds. More for her safety in case of the appearance of a random enemy organization. And to ensure Tatsumaki doesn't develop a bad or otherwise weird impression from them.
It was for the most part public knowledge I had a couple adopted kids, but most assumed they were from the wreckage of the first monsters chaotic aftermath not picked up up out of some lab.
I let that be the story, not really bothering to correct it. Also wanted to hide her esper nature too, since her powers would significantly impact any socialization she would have with others and make it harder due to the difference. People were mean for the slightest reasons.
That may or may not be the case for most, but I had a vague memory of Fubuki being bullied so I just decided it was easier to limit her random population contact just my main club of trusted people.
Positioning myself onto Tatsumaki's back I spoke to her. "I humbly request you fly us up to the tallest building."
"O-okay!" Tats was slightly flustered at my sudden request for a ride up, but accepted it.
After a little bit of probing, and my persuasion, I managed to get Tatsu more used to flying me around on the spot m. As a means of us bonding but also getting her flying abilities up to speed. She was pretty good at already, but needed confidence. Naturally I would also needed a ride to certain places fast in case of emergency, so better get her used to giving me rides like a taxi.
We floated up and up to a large open window. Inside I saw a person. Uh what- oh it was Genus. Wait why was he there? Joining the viewing?
Floating in I made a waving gesture to Genus, while on Tatsumaki's back.
"Black, I see you've arrived. And with an esper. I presume her to be your daughter?"
I nodded. "Tatsumaki. Say hello to Genus."
"Hello mister, nice to meet you." Tatsumaki extended a hand in greeting. Genus reciprocated the gesture.
Very good Tats! Greeting people nicely is a good thing to do. If it was absolutely any other person...
I don't particularly want you to respect him too much Tats, mad scientist that experiments on sentient and non sentient life for a dubious goal and all. Technically still a villain. Even if I recruited him for a mostly benevolent purpose he was still as cold and analytical as one might expect him to be.
To rectify that minor mistake I close got into Tatsumaki's ear and whispered. "He's one of my minions. You can order him around if you want." Tatsumaki giggled at that.
Genus' smile was suddenly strained, having heard that remark of mine. "Black Sperm, would you mind if we spoke privately for a moment?" He suddenly said.
"Sure." I said, then split. Promptly following him out of the room.
...
"So what's going on?"
"While visiting here for my own observation of the fighters one of your cells notified me of a particularly interesting candidate. Although he failed the qualification test apparently he said he had a personal connection to me."
"Oh, who is it?" That could be a lot of people couldn't it? Or was Z-Man the only major human that escaped?
"After hearing his description I've confirmed that it is one of the only successful test subjects from my immortality series of experiments, number sixty six. Your cells said he he tried interrogating an isolated cell about our new relationship sometime after he was knocked out of the ring."
Yeah that sounded about right... I think. Wait how did Zombie even find out?
I had a more clear memory of Zombieman having some investigation skills, pretty good ones. So it was most likely that.
"Where is he now?"
"Currently in one of the waiting rooms. The other cell that discovered his presence seems to have appeased him somehow, then alerted me to the situation."
"Oh okay... wait why are you here then?"
"Your other cells wanted me wait here until the rest of you arrived in case an altercation with my former subject happened, as well as to ensure all cells you all were on the same page when consulting him. They told me you would merge then try to recruit my subject to our side before they would allow any meeting to take place.
While I would've personally recommend you put him under tight restraints I'm not you against using other methods to ensure his cooperation with us. He was a successful experiment after all, so I wouldn't mind preforming some observations on him... but only if there is little risk of him making an attempt on my life, which I'm sure you're aware of."
Okay Genus...
"Alright. I'll go see to that."
...
Got to the meeting room, then merged back with my other cells who just seemed to be hanging out with Zombieman. Who was stinking up the room by chain smoking cigarettes... hmm.
Memories memoies. What the- I told him everything? Really? Well uh... I mean I guess that makes sense? With my secret-not so secret new relationship to Genus he'd probably do anything to see what we were planning, with his own vigilante justice and investigation. And so knowing his perseverance levels I decided to recruit him through divulging the future to him in its entirety, most of my manga webcomic knowledge up to a certain point, plus the truth of my own origin.
He didn't accept it fully just yet, wanting to see some of my supposed 'future knowledge' take place before accepting my lunacy.
Though knowing the immense wealth and power that I had he accepted joining me in my humanitarian efforts after a couple promises. The destruction of Genus main lab being one, and close observation of my organization and Genus' himself being the other.
"..."
There was an awkward pause for a minute, after merging.
"Welcome to the club?" I said.
Zombieman sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Do you really think you can control him?"
"It's more like, pointing him into a certain direction then firing. I don't really approve of the inhumane experimentation he does you know, but I'd rather that inhumane research be used for the benefit of humanity then waste away on pointless projects that just end up creating monsters."
"I hate to agree with that sentiment. So where is the House of Evolution?"
"Outskirts of City Z. Although I had Genus make a copy of some of the research I found important. Eternal youth and cloning being one of the major things."
Zombieman narrowed his eyes. "What do you even plan to use that for?"
"Probably bribe rich people with it to get all their money, then redistribute the money to society?"
He sighed then mumbled something.
"Think you can give me some firepower? If I'm going to be working with you going forward."
"Well I could give you gun? Or do you want to completely obliterate the place?"
Zombieman hummed. "I'll take the full loadout."
...
"Black Sperm, how did the negotiations go?"
"I had to sellout your main lab to recruit him, by sellout I mean destroy it completely. But since we have a few spare clones hidden away and we already made a copies of all the research and moved it here we really didn't lose anything at all."
Genus had a blank expression, then he sighed. "I suppose that isn't a bad way to look at things, although it puts some of my research on hold... Do you intend to to assist me in creating a new lab elsewhere or should I expect my projects to be suspended indefinitely?"
"Only for a little while. I plan to persuade him to understand and to see your research in a more beneficial light. Might take a few years... or decades... Anyways we can focus more on civilian stuff instead for now while I work on that. Civilian things being medicine and food that I can mass produce to sell, I'll have a cell explain the idea." I split a few thousand off.
"On a different note I already have a new lab location when we get around to it, if you want to look at that later."
"... Very well. I suppose I cannot fault your decisions here. The tasks of creating superior medicine and alternative foods should be pitifully easy. If there's nothing else to say from your end I'll continue my own observations of the martial artists." Genus left the room while talking with my cell.
I guess that's something.
Tats was with some other cells, so I could let her and my others hang out there.
Today was pretty productive. One new member. Were they all going to be this easy? Probably not.
Hmm, still kinda early in the day. I should go do something else.
Uh mmmmm, gonna go over internally again the S Class that I got so far, then ones I need to look for. I've already procrastinated for a month I really shouldn't put it off too much longer.
Tatsumaki, Bang, Atomic Samurai, and Zombieman were accounted for. Although Bang and Kamikaze were yet to be taken in professionally.
Darkshine, Puri Puri, Watchdog, Flashy Flash, Tank Top, Genos, Metal Bat, Pig God, Drive Knight, Metal Knight/Bofoi, Child Emperor, and... King...
All except for a couple were young, still training, or otherwise not on the radar with no leads.
In regards to urgency only Flashy Flash. Bofoi and Drive Knight came to mind for significant political centric entities.
For the Sonic and Flashy Flash recruitment sidequest the major threat there was the Ninja Village Leader and village itself that churned out assasins into the world every so often. Something that the world really didn't need to have.
To ensure I could reliably dismantle the village one hundred percent I might need Blast around, who dealt with the village in canon.
I was also a Dragon level myself, but sheer speed and sheer power would be a bit of an issue with some enemies until I could boost my stock enough for my fusion to handle it.
So until I found the village and made contact with Blast I'd need to wait that side quest out a litte bit of time. Don't want to do everything myself, or rush to fight in a bad matchup. Better to wait it out and get better loot from the aftermath, that way I could pull a Saitama and loot the leader for his stuff.
Couldn't use Tatsumaki here. She wasn't fine tuned to fight human enemies that give no mercy. And I don't want to mess up her head by having her fight too many humans in her youth.
So I had a plan for the ninjas. The next issue was a bit larger scale unfortunately.
Because neither the webcomic or manga was finished I didn't have any clue as to what relationship either Drive Knight had to "The Organization" or what danger their random combat robots would be.
It didn't help that I had no idea if Bofoi was actually a bad guy or had hidden intentions and was fighting against the Organization himself.
I mean for all I knew my own organization could butterfly things out of wack. Eighteen years between now and the future it was also just as likely that 'The Organization' could've been a rogue artificial intelligence Bofoi created that my presence blipped out of existence.
I know Bofoi always used remote controlled robots in the future so the Org being an A.I. was a somewhat reasonable guess, but like many other guessess of mine I wouldn't be able to confirm until past a certain time point. But hopefully that is the case.
Then to the one eye 'cyborg'. If Drive Knight was to be believed about his origin story being the same as Genos then me engaging in village protection would result in the dissapearance of two potential S Class heroes. If he's lying or twisting the truth, then the other possibility is that he's either a rogue member of the organization or created from a third party.
Drive Knight could you be any more mysterious?
Hard times breeds strong men. Easy times breed weak men. Drive Knight, Genos… I could save them pretty easily with some cells being given evacuation duty. But that'd mean two less S Class heroes to help me out... so less strong men.
... I guess the next best thing to to go recruit Kuseno and Bofoi as soon as possible. If I'm sacrificing a couple members of Team S then I'd need a better or equal replacement.!
Might be able to persuade Kuseno to my side through getting Tatsumaki interested in robots. Get a partnership going through Kuseno tutoring her. Vaguely similar to whatever relationship Child Emperor and Bofoi had.
An esper with robotic armor... that was something to think about. Bang, Kuseno... I wonder if Genus could- nah he was still kinda nuts. I need to humble Genus a bit somehow before I let him be around Tatsumaki for an extended period of time, so no third tutor yet.
I have money and a self sufficient business. So it shouldn't be too hard to use my usual methods to persuade a couple robotics guys to my side. As per one of my other plans I intended to do but kept forgetting about.
A little technological competition and recruitment ordeal to get as many scientists on my payroll and observation as possible.
...
Even with those two, and whatever guys I pick up. Just how many countless enemies, evil organizations, and random threats will I have to deal with? Right now things were quiet, but that would change with time. Just how many societal problems could my Association deal with?
Although seemingly infinite, monsters seemed to be a symptom of the many endless problems humanity had. Being created from the flaws, desires, obsessions of people, and of environmental pollution. Was I supposed to help fight the flaws of human civilization and people too!?
Genus could solve world hunger. But for every other issue I'd need my little company to put its hands in every aspect of society. As if renting out myself to people wasn't enough control and influence.
Was I becoming another evil organization?
Closer government cooperation might be the key here to giving myself legitimacy and giving people a better impression.
All this fucking stuff was supposed to be handled by the Prime Minister and his cabinet. They were for all intents and purposes the main political representation and administrative apparatus of humanity. Yet... parts of the government were seemingly incapable of controlling the situation or fighting monsters up to a certain point. And so the responsibility was delegated to the private sector.
Sigh. I guess I'll have to deal with most of the monster problems. Maybe Steel could help me out with the most effective way to deal with human centric threats, that was his job after all wasn't it?
Well, regardless, whatever I do now was definitely a better solution then letting things proceed naturally. Just look where that ended up. Two organizations founded by rich people created with the purpose of fighting monsters, but both getting plagued by the problems of selfish bureaucracy, questionable leadership, and infighting.
...
Sigh.
Again.
Where should I start? Probably the two main things I know of.
Ninjas or robots...?
