Hello all Storm here with a new chapter! Here we'll be seeing the Slateport Contest, though will be very different from canon, but with the same outcome. So, without further ado.

It was the day of the Slateport City Pokémon Contest, with all the Coordinators having arrived at the Contest Hall, taking the time before the Contest begins to get some last minute preparations in.
With Naruto and May currently in the waiting room, the brunette having already changed into her Contest attire. Along with feeling nervous, still getting used to performing in front of so many people and knowing the chance, she'll be going against Robert if she makes it to the Battle Portion.
"Are you and Skitty ready, May-chan?" Naruto asked, pulling the Coordinator from her thoughts, with May nodding at her boyfriend.
"As ready as we'll ever be, we've been working on the combo we'll be using for days, and I'm sure we've got it down." Replied May, having been working on her and Skitty's combo and made some changes to it, which she hoped would impress the judges.
"Don't worry, you did amazing back in the Verdanturf Contest and you'll do even better in this one. And remember, whether you win or lose, what matters is doing the best you can." Naruto stated, with May smiling at the Uzumaki, before nodding in agreement.
"You're right Naruto-kun, as long as I do my best. But even if I lose the Contest, I'll still be a winner since I've got you with me." May said, winking at her boyfriend.
"Then that just means I'll have to do something special for you after the Contest." Naruto replied, smiling at his girlfriend.
"Oooh, now I'm curious. Anything you have in mind?" May asked slyly.
"Sorry, it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you anything." Answered Naruto, making May lean closely to her boyfriend.
"And if I…persuaded you to tell me?" May said, smiling at him.
"Depends on just how you'd get me to talk." Naruto stated, wrapping an arm around May's waist.
"I'm sure I can think of something, and you should know by now Naruto-kun. I always get what I want." Said May, now smirking at him.
"Get a room lovebirds, preferably one that's soundproof." Ino said in amusement as she walked up to the couple, the two looking at the Yamanaka as they waved at her.
"Hey Ino, are you ready for the Contest?" May asked, curious of what Pokémon the blonde Coordinator intended to use.
"Yep, I've already decided on which of my Pokémon I intend to use, and the combo we'll be showing the judges." Replied Ino with a confident smirk.
"Any chance we can know what Pokémon you'll be using? At least, if it's one you've had or recently caught." Naruto said, with Ino waving her finger at him.
"Ah, ah, ah. Sorry, but you two will just have to wait and see, like everyone else. But I will say, she's one of my new Pokémon, I caught her not long after we left Verdanturf Town." Ino said, having been excited when she found this Pokémon and knew she had to catch her, and has been thankful she did.
"Well I'm sure whichever Pokémon it is, they'll be amazing." May stated, knowing Ino is sure to have trained all her Pokémon to be great in Contests and Battles, with the Yamanaka smiling and nodding in thanks.
"You too May, maybe we'll even get another surprise evolution." Ino replied, making the brunette laugh lightly and shake her head.
"I don't think so." Said May, given she was using Skitty and the only way she'd evolve, is if she's exposed to a Moon Stone.
"By the way, where are Shikamaru and Chōji?" Naruto asked, having expected them to be with Ino before the Contest started.
"They're already out in the stands, waiting for the Contest to begin." Answered Ino, her former teammates having already went to get seats, when they arrived at the Contest Hall.
"Which is where you should be going blondie since this is for Coordinators only. And maybe bring your friends here with you." Drew said, having spotted the three and walked up to them, with Naruto and May narrowing their eyes at him, while Ino looked at him with a raised brow.
"I'm sorry, but who you are supposed to be, to say where we can and can't be?" Questioned Ino, while crossing her arms under her bust.
"Drew, another Pokémon Coordinator. Who also likes to think he's the best." Naruto answered.
"I don't think anything blondie, I know I'm good. Unlike these two beginners here." Stated Drew with a smirk, making both May and Ino narrow their eyes at him.
"Excuse you, but we aren't beginners. We've both competed in a Contest before, in Verdanturf Town." May retorted, still annoyed at Drew talking down to them.
"Yeah, May even tied as the winner in it, and it was her first Contest." Added Ino in defense of her friend/rival.
"Yeah, I didn't recognize you at first, but I saw your performances. And it's too bad you made such obvious mistakes, you with not having your Oddish learn barely moves aside from status effect ones, and you training your Torchic too much that it evolved, right in the middle of the Contest. Very common mistakes for very common beginners." Drew said while still keeping his smirk, making the two girls growl in annoyance and would have done something, if not for Naruto putt his hands on their shoulders and shaking his head.
"Why don't you say that after they show you how much they've improved. Even better, if one of them takes you down in the Battle Portion." Stated Naruto.
"If they can even make it past the Appeal Portion, then we'll see if they can actual make it as Coordinators, or if their first Contest was just dumb luck." Said Drew, before taking his leave.
"I swear, if I face him in the Battle Portion, I'm gonna…" May muttered, wanting to simply crush Drew in a battle.
"Not if I get him, first." Said Ino, now wanting the chance to take Drew down as well.
"Don't let him get you two, both of you are amazing Coordinators, and you both showed that back in Verdanturf Town. May-chan, you've been training your Pokémon and doing great with all of them, improving yourself to be even better. And Ino, I'm sure you've been doing the same, and have made sure you won't make the same mistake of not having more attacking moves for all you Pokémon. So, no matter what, don't forget that both of you are great and will show anyone who doubts it." Said Naruto, making both Coordinators smile at him, thankful for his words.
"Excellent advice Naruto, and also true." Robert stated while walking up to the three, getting their attention.
"Hey Robert. Nice to see you again." May said, smiling at the Top Coordinator.
"You both as well. And who's your friend?" Asked Robert, while looking at Ino.
"I'm Ino Yamanaka, a Pokémon Coordinator, nice to meet you." Ino introduced, holding out her hand, which Robert shook and nodded.
"I'm Robert, a Top Coordinator, and you were in the Verdanturf Contest with May. You put on the quiet the performance, even with your limited amount of moves. It was really impressive the way you battled, showing off incredible ingenuity against what others would see as a superior opponent." Robert replied, making the Yamanaka smile in thanks at the compliment.
"Thanks, I actually didn't think much on having Oddish learn moves that deal damage, instead focusing on ones that'd look good in Contests. Something I've been working on fixing, since then." Said Ino, making sure she didn't make the same mistake twice.
"A good Coordinator knows when they've reached their peak, but a great one never stops trying to improve themselves and learn from their mistakes. Something that Trainers should also know as well, and always keep improving." Robert stated, making Naruto, May, and Ino nod in agreement.
"Yeah, May-chan and I have been training our Pokémon every day to keep improving, and I'm sure Ino's been doing the same with hers." Naruto said, knowing they can always improve their Pokémon, even when they're fully evolved like Gallade and Zoroark, there's always room to keep growing.
"Then I'm sure you three will have no problem in your endeavors. Well the Contest should be starting soon, good luck to both of you, May, Ino." Said Robert, waving to them as he went get ready for the Appeal Portion to begin, with the two Coordinators and one Trainer waving back at him, before May and Ino looked at each other.
"I'm gonna go grab a seat, good luck May-chan, good luck Ino. I know you'll both do great out there." Naruto said as he headed for the stands to get a seat.
"Thanks Naruto-kun. And good luck Ino, may the best Coordinator win." Said May, smiling at the Yamanaka, which she returned.
"Good luck to you as well, May. And yeah, may the best Coordinator win." Ino replied as they shook hands.
Naruto, meanwhile, had found where Shikamaru and Chōji were sitting, and went to join them.
"Hey guys, how've you been?" Naruto asked, taking a seat beside the Nara.
"We've been fine, mostly enjoying the chance to rest and relax at the Pokémon Center, at least when Ino wasn't dragging us around or needed our "opinions" for her Content performances. Troublesome blondes, making me and Pokémon work when we're trying to relax." Shikamaru muttered, before letting out a yawn.
"Shikamaru's just annoyed, because he and Lotad have had to put out a couple fires that were made from Ino's training." Said Chōji while eating his chips, making Naruto raise a brow.
"Lotad? And what fires?" Questioned Naruto, not expecting Shikamaru to catch any Pokémon besides his Starter.
"My Lotad, the little guy found us while we were relaxing, before joining me and Slakoth. He also helps put out some fires that Ino's Pokémon made, during their training." Answered Shikamaru, with the Uzumaki nodding at this, while guessing that Ino must have caught a Fire-type, or started training some of her Pokémon to use Fire-type moves,
Though soon, everyone quieted down when Vivian came onto the stage to start the Contest.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for your patience, the Slateport City Pokémon Contest will now begin!" Vivian declared, with the crowd cheering in excitement for the start of the Contest.
"Now, let's meet our judges! Our head judge Mr. Contesta, Mr. Sukizo the Director of the Pokémon Fan Club, and finally Slateport City's very own Nurse Joy. The Coordinator that earns their way to victory, will be honored with the esteemed Slateport Ribbon. With those that earn five Ribbons getting the honor to compete in the Pokémon Grand Festival! I'm Vivian Meridian and I'm honored to be your MC for today's Contest!" Said Vivian.
"Now then, let's start things off with the Appeal Portion of the Contest! Our first Coordinator is…" Vivian said, before she began calling out all the Coordinators to perform for the judges to score and see if they'll be moving onto the next round.
"Next up is contestant number twenty-four, Drew!" Said Vivian as Drew came out onto the stage.
'Okay, let's see what this guy can do.' Thought Naruto, wanting to see if Drew was able to back up all his talk, in an actual Contest.
"Oh yeah, Roselia go!" Drew said, throwing his Pokéball and releasing his Pokémon.
Roselia is a small, light green bipedal Pokémon. It has three thorns on top of its head, and it has black eyes with long eyelashes. Visible from the back is a small stretch of yellow coloration around its neck much like a collar. There are leaves extending from its shoulders like epaulettes. It has a leaf skirt with a yellow stripe running down the front. A male will have a shorter leaf than a female. It holds a rose in each of its hands, a red one in its right, and a blue one in its left.
"Roselia, huh." Naruto muttered, scanning Roselia with his Pokédex.
"Roselia, the Thorn Pokémon, and evolved form of Budew. Roselia's aroma can bring serenity, but the thorns on its head contain a vicious poison."
"Now, use Petal Dance!" Drew said, with Roselia holding out its arms.
"Roselia!" Roselia released a large amount of pink flower petals from its roses, that scattered around.
"Roselia takes the stage with a simply gorgeous Petal Dance, just fabulous!" Said Vivian, admiring the petals floating through the air.
"Next use Stun Spore!" Said Drew, with Roselia holding its arms up before spinning around, releasing a large amount of orange powder.
"Add Magical Leaf!" Drew said.
"Rose-lia!" Roselia stopped spinning, before shooting out glowing white leaves that flew around and mixed with the Stun Spore, creating a wave of sparkling, glowing leaves
"Outstanding! Magical Leaf and Stun Spore, they've completely won over this audience with their precise teamwork!" Vivian stated, smiling at the sight.
'Okay, that's pretty good.' Naruto thought begrudgingly.
"And now it's time to finish up. Roselia, use Petal Dance!" Said Drew, with Roselia releasing another wave of pink petals only this time Roselia vanished, much to everyone's surprise.
"Magical Leaf!" Drew said.
"Lia!" Roselia, from their location, launched a wave of glowing white leaves that sliced through the pink petals, making them all descend in a sparkling, pink rain of flower petals.
With Roselia soon reappearing on the ground, taking a bow that was mirrored by Drew, with the crowd soon cheering at the display.
"So now we await the judge's opinion of that excellent performance." Said Vivian, looking at the judges to see how they'll score Drew, with Contesta giving 9.8, Sukizo 9.9, and Nurse Joy a 9.7
"29.4! The highest score yet!" Vivian declared, with the crowd cheering again, before they moved on with the other contestants.
"That guys pretty good." Chōji stated, after seeing Drew's performance.
"Yeah, I guess he actually is a good Coordinator." Naruto said with a frown, admitting Drew and Roselia were really good, but still annoyed by his attitude.
After a couple more Coordinators, it was soon Robert's turn.
"and now the next contestant to take the stage, number thirty-eight, Robert!" Vivian said, as Robert came out.
"It is your turn now, Milotic!" Said Robert, releasing his Pokémon.
Milotic is an aquatic, serpentine Pokémon with a primarily cream-colored body. It has red eyes with long, pinkish antennae above them. Additionally, there are long, hair-like fins above its eyes, which begin thin and thicken towards the tips. These eyebrows extend to almost half of Milotic's body length and will be longer on the female than the male. On top of its relatively small head is a straight spike. Running down either side of its neck are three black dots, similar to gills. Its lower body is a pattern of blue and pink, diamond-shaped scales outlined with black. The tail consists of four large, blue fins with pink ovals in their centers. Each of the tail fins overlaps the next slightly, causing it to resemble a fan.
"Whoa, what is that?" Naruto said in amazement at the Pokémon's beauty, before pulling out his Pokédex and scanning it.
"Milotic, the Tender Pokémon, and the evolved form of Feebas. It is said to be the most beautiful of all Pokémon and is quite skilled in battle."
'No kidding.' Naruto thought, seeing why Milotic is considered the most beautiful Pokémon, knowing it's the perfect one for Contests.
"Now Milotic, use Water Pulse!" Robert said.
"Milo." Milotic's eyes glowed blue as it released a pulse of water under it, before geysers of water shot up around the Tender Pokémon.
"Next use Aqua Ring!" Said Robert, with water droplets being pulled from the geysers and surround Milotic in three glowing rings of water.
"Now use Twister!" Robert said, with Milotic opening up its fan tail.
"Milo-tic." Milotic began spinning its fan, creating a large twister that began absorbing all the water from the geysers.
"And reverse it now, Milotic!" Said Robert, causing Milotic to stop spinning its tail, before immediately spinning it in the reverse direction, launching droplets of glowing blue water all across the stage.
"Now, finish it with Safeguard, Milotic." Robert said, with Milotic being surrounded by a green aura, while remaining in the center of the water droplets, much to the audiences awe and amazement.
"Wow, I don't think we've ever seen a performance quite like that! With Robert and his Milotic putting on an amazing water show, with Water Pulse and Aqua Ring. Before giving us a beautiful sight by sending droplets of water everywhere with Twister and finishing up with a sight to see, with Safeguard at the center of it all! Let's see what the judges have to say!" Said Vivian, looking at the judges after the amazing sight.
"That was awe-inspiring!" Stated Contesta.
"Yes, simply remarkable!" Sukizo added in agreement.
"I'm very impressed!" Said Nurse Joy, all three of the judges having enjoyed the sight and performance.
"And the judges give Robert and Milotic…29.8! The new highest score and definitely a tough one to beat!" Vivian declared, before moving on with the other contestants.
'Man, Robert's Milotic is really great, and it'll probably be just as strong in battle with attacks like those.' Thought Naruto, amazed at Robert's performance and knowing if May does go against him, it's definitely not going to be an easy battle.
"Folks, we've reached our last two contestants of the Appeal Round! Now, let's give it up for contestant number forty-nine, Ino Yamanaka!" Vivian said, with Ino coming out onto the stage with a confident smirk.
"Okay Ponyta, let's go!" Said Ino, releasing her Pokémon, with the crowd being amazed when they saw Ponyta.
Ponyta is an equine Pokémon with cream-colored fur. It has brown eyes and triangular ears with dark blue interiors. Bright blue flames form its mane and tail. The mane forms a short crest on top of its head and a short strip down its back to its tail. Additional flames are present behind its elbows and knees. It has four long legs, each ending in a single, gray hoof.
"Ponyta?" Said Naruto, scanning Ino's Pokémon with his Pokédex.
"Ponyta, the Fire Horse Pokémon. Ponyta is very weak at birth. It can barely stand up. This Pokémon becomes stronger by stumbling and falling to keep up with its parent."
Naruto was surprised when he saw the image of the Ponyta on his Pokédex. Rather than having blue flames, it normally has yellow and orange flames for a mane and tail, along with its ears interior being reddish. Though the Uzumaki soon realized the reason for the difference, before looking at Ino's in renewed amazement.
"Wow, Ino managed to catch a Shiny Ponyta." Said Naruto, not expecting Ino to have a Shiny Pokémon.
"Yep, she's been excited for the chance to show Ponyta off in a Contest, the moment she caught her. Honestly, Ino didn't stop going on about all the ways Ponyta could perform, keeping us awake. And then during training, with all the fire she started; it was so troublesome." Shikamaru muttered, glad that Ino's been able to get to the point, where she wouldn't accidently set stuff on fire with Ponyta.
"Already, Ino has the crowds attention by showing off her Shiny Ponyta!" Vivian said, not expecting see a Shiny Pokémon.
"Alright Ponyta, just like we practiced. Use Fire Spin!" Ino said.
"Pony-ta!" Ponyta released a spiraling wave of blue flames, that soon formed into several flaming rings around the stage.
"Now use Flame Charge and jump through the rings!" Said Ino, with Ponyta soon enveloped in blue flames, before dashing towards the rings and began jumping through them.
"And now we see Ponyta putting on a show using Fire Spin to create several burning rings, before jumping through them while covered in Flame Charge!" Vivian stated, smiling at the performance, with Ino smirking as Ponyta approached the final ring.
"That's not all! Ponyta use Agility to jump into the air and through the final ring!" Ino said.
"Ponyta!" Ponyta moved even faster, until she was just a flaming, blue blur jumping through the final ring and high up into the air.
"Now use Stomp!" Said Ino, with Ponyta diving back down to the ground and stomping her legs down hard, causing the flames surround her to shoot off of her and around the stage.
"Finish it with Morning Sun!" Ino said.
"Pony!" Ponyta reared back onto her hind legs as she glowed a bright white, before yellow rays of light shined off of the Fire Horse Pokémon.
The crowd cheering at the sight of Ponyta standing in the center of the blue flames, with yellow light.
"And they finish up their performance using a perfect mix of Agility, Stomp, and Morning Sun, creating an unforgettable sight! Let's see what the judges have to say!" Vivian said, looking at the judges as they gave their scores.
"The judges give Ino and Ponyta…28.9!" Declared Vivian, with the crowd cheering while Ino smiled at her score, before petting Ponyta.
"Great work Ponyta, you were amazing." Said Ino, glad they were able to get that combo down.
"Ponyta!" Ponyta closed her eyes happily and nuzzled her Trainer.
"Now, we're down to our final contestant, number fifty, May!" Vivian said, once Ino left the stage and was replaced by May, who took a deep breath.
"It's your turn now, Skitty!" Said May, releasing Skitty onto the stage.
"Skitty!" Skitty flipped as she was released and landed on the stage.
"Alright Skitty, use Double Slap to juggle!" May said, pulling out four balls and tossing them to the Kitten Pokémon.
"Skitty!" Skitty then began using Double Slap to juggle the balls around, making the audience smile at the sight.
"Seems like May and Skitty are starting off simple, using Double Slap to put on a juggling act, simple but very adorable and skilled." Vivian said, smiling at the sight of Skitty juggling.
"Okay, now hit them into the air with Iron Tail!" Said May, with Skitty's tail glowing white, before she smacked each of the balls into the air.
"Now hit the balls with Thunderbolt Skitty!" May said.
"Skit-ty!" Skitty was surrounded by electricity before launching a large bolt of lightning at the balls, the lightning chaining to each of them as it hit them, with each ball soon bursting open, revealing a large amount of golden dust within them that sprinkled around the arena.
"Now, use Sunny Day!" Said May, with Skitty releasing a white light that shot up into the air, before forming together to create a miniature sun, with the sun illuminating the gold dust creating a wave of sparkles through the air.
"Finish it with Charm!" May said, as Skitty posed cutely with pink hearts surrounding her, while smiling at the audience, making them cheer at both Skitty's Charm and the Kitten Pokémon surrounded by the glowing gold dust.
"And by using Iron Tail and Thunderbolt, Skitty made the balls burst open revealing the colorful gold dust within, before using Sunny Day to really make it shine, before finishing up with an adorable Charm! Let's see what the judges have to say." Said Vivian, turning to the judges as they each gave their scores.
"With May and Skitty earning…28.5! And that ends the Appeal Portion of the Contest! In a moment, we'll be announcing who will be moving onto the Battle Portion!" Said Vivian as they went onto the break to see which contestants will move onto the Battle Portion of the Contest.

"That was awesome, May! You and Skitty really put on a great show!" Ino said, smiling at the brunette, which May returned.
"Thanks Ino, you and Ponyta were really amazing as well. I had no idea you caught a Shiny Ponyta, those blue flames though were beautiful." Replied May, having been amazed at Ino's Shiny Ponyta and her performance.
"Thanks, and yeah, we actually stumbled onto some Ponyta and I really wanted to catch one. And when I saw my Shiny one among them, I knew that I had to get her." Said Ino, happy when she found Ponyta and was able to catch her.
"Though I am annoyed at Drew's performance, since it was really great. And now I really want to get my own Roselia." Ino said in annoyance, unable to deny that Drew put on a great performance, and now she wanted to get her own Roselia as well.
"Yeah, and Robert's Milotic was amazing as well." Stated May, nodding in agreement, having been amazed at Milotic's performance and beauty, wishing to one day get her own Milotic after seeing one perform.
"May-chan, Ino!"
Hearing their names, the two girls looked and saw Naruto approaching, while smiling at them.
"Hey, you both were amazing out there. You and Skitty really improved with that combo you were working on and can see it being even better by trying out different ways to use it." Naruto said, glad both of them did amazing in the Appeal Round.
"Thanks Naruto-kun and yeah, I did have some other ideas of what Skitty could do. But I decided to go with the combo we've worked on the most, since the other ideas I had still need to be worked on, along with the moves she'll still need to master." Replied May while smiling at her boyfriend.
"Well, I can tell you've grown a lot since your first Contest, and you'll only getting better. Plus, I'll be there, cheering you on at each of your Contests." Said Naruto, smiling at the brunette, much to her happiness as she kissed him on the cheek.
"Just like I'll be there to cheer you on, in each of your Gym Battles." May said, thankful she has Naruto to encourage and help her.
"You and your Ponyta were really great as well Ino, even better that Ponyta was a Shiny Pokémon. I wasn't really expecting that, but I can see that you've been doing a great job in training your Pokémon, with how strong Ponyta was. I'm sure the rest of your team is just as strong and talented." Naruto said, smiling at the Yamanaka, making Ino smile in response, before she grabbed Naruto's arm and held it between her breasts.
"Aaaah, thanks Naruto, you know just what to say to make a girl smile, don't you. Maybe later, I can show you some other tricks I know, if you're interested in seeing more." Ino said flirtatiously, before winking at the whiskered blonde.
"Wh-what?" Naruto stuttered in embarrassment at her offer, while May narrowed her eyes at the blonde Coordinator.
"And you'd be more than welcome to join us, May. I'm sure we both have some tricks to show each other, ones that Naruto wouldn't mind seeing us do." Ino added while smiling at the brunette, who smiled "sweetly" at her, before grabbing her boyfriend's other arm.
"No, that's fine Ino. I'm sure you, Chōji, and Shikamaru will be leaving Slateport after the Contest, right. But Naruto-kun and I will be staying, since we still have stuff to do here; personal stuff, I'm sure you can understand." Replied May in a "sweet" and possessive tone.
While she may have been intrigued at the idea of sharing Naruto with other girls, that didn't she was on board with the idea of sharing HER boyfriend with other girls.
"I don't know, we may stay around a little while, if you'd like to see more of us Naruto. Or perhaps just me~." Ino said, while smiling slyly at the Uzumaki, who blushed in embarrassment while May growled lowly.
"No, really, that's fine. We'll be perfectly fine by ourselves, alone." May stated, missing how Ino smirked in amusement at her.
'You're just too easy to egg you on, May; and both of you are so fun to tease.' Ino thought, enjoying the chance to tease the couple, especially May, before she looked at Naruto in interest.
'But I can't deny, Naruto is pretty great when you get to know him. Plus, he is rather good looking.' Thought Ino, admitting that she did have a light attraction for Naruto, after encountering him and May in Verdanturf, and now here in Slateport.
Before the blonde Coordinator mentally shook her head and chuckled, brushing it off as just as being impressed with how far Naruto's come since they were Genin.
'He's definitely not the same loudmouth goofball he was in the Academy. Or maybe he's always been the nice of guy, and I just never noticed.' Ino thought, knowing she never really paid that much attention to Naruto before, especially with her crush on Sasuke.
So, she probably never noticed what he was like and now that she was, she's just impressed to see the kind of person he was.
Nodding at her explanation, Ino smirked at May before letting go of Naruto's arm and raising her hands in surrender.
"Alright May, no need to worry. I really was just offering you both the chance to exchange some tricks and tips, we could give each other to improve our training." Ino said, with the brunette merely continuing to look at her with narrowed eyes.
'Sure you were.' Thought May, doubting that was her true intention.
Their attention then turned to the screen when it came on, with May and Ino looking at it eagerly, to see if they made it to the Battle Portion.
"Now the results are in, and I thank you all for your patience! Now, these eight Coordinators will move onto the next round!" Said Vivian, before showing the eight Coordinators that will be moving onto the second round of the Contest, with May and Ino smiling at seeing they were among those moving on.
"Alright! We're going on to the second round!" Ino cheered.
"Yeah, and it looks like Robert's moving on as well. And Drew." Stated May, frowning slightly at seeing Drew moving on as well, but knew he earned it with his performance.
"The contestants are now being randomly chosen to see whom they'll be facing in battle." Vivian said as the pictures began shifting and flashing around for a few moments, before finally settling on who will be facing each other, with the three seeing that May will be facing off against Drew.
"You'll be battling Drew first." Naruto said with a frown, given if Drew battled like he performed, then it'll be a tough battle.
"Looks like it, but I don't plan to lose to him." Replied May, ready to show Drew that she can be a great Coordinator.
"That's the spirit, show him what you can do May. But don't spend too much time battling, after all, we'll be facing each other next." Ino said, smirking as she pointed back at the screen, with Naruto and May seeing she was right.
With the way the battles were set up, both of them would be battling each other if they won their first matches.
"Even more of a reason to win." Said May with her own smirk, as the two Coordinators looked at each other.
*Later*
"The second round consists of Contest Battles. Our contestants will have five minutes to show our judges their battling performances abilities. And now our battle on the first stage will begin!" Declared Vivian as May and Drew stood across from each other, before the timer started.
"Roselia, let's go now!" Drew said as he released Roselia.
"Skitty, take the stage!" Said May releasing Skitty, with Pokémon appearing across from each other.
"Roselia, use Magical Leaf!" Said Drew.
"Rose!" Roselia aimed its flowers at Skitty, before releasing a barrage of glowing leaves at her.
"Skitty use Disarming Voice!" May said, with Skitty inhaling before letting out a loud scream accompanied by a wave of blue energy, that dispersed the Magical Leaf.
"Nice try, but it's no use!" Drew said smirking, as the leaves soon corrected themselves and continued rushing towards Skitty; thankfully, May was aware of this fact from the times she saw Naruto's Grovyle use Magical Leaf and was prepared for it.
"Skitty dodge and get in close to Roselia!" Said May.
"Skitty!" Skitty jumped out of the way of the leaves, as they flew past her only to turn around and come right back towards her, with the Kitten Pokémon running towards Roselia.
"It's no use, Magical Leaf can't be dodged, it'll always find its target!" Drew said, thinking May was trying to dodge Magical Leaf or attack Roselia, only to see her smirking.
"That's what I'm counting on. Now use Fake Tears Skitty!" May said, once Skitty was in front of Roselia, with Skitty soon crying loudly with tears flying out of her eyes, making Roselia flinch at the sight as its Special Defense harshly fell.
"Jump out of the way now, Skitty!" Said May at seeing Magical Leaf was just about to hit Skitty, making her dodge at the last moment.
"Roselia!" Roselia looked in shock as Skitty suddenly stopped crying and jumped off to the side, before crying out as the leaves impacted them instead.
"What?!" Said Drew in shock at seeing Skitty dodge, only for Roselia to get hit instead, something that took a good amount of points from him.
May smirked at this, having remembered Naruto's Grovyle used that attacking, along with his battle against Wattson and how the Gym Leader used Shock Wave, both of which being unavoidable attacks. Leading to May researching on which attacks are unavoidable and develop some strategies to deal with them, so she would be prepared for when she battled a Trainer or another Coordinator that used unavoidable attacks.
"Alright, Skitty use Iron Tail!" May said.
"Skitty!" Skitty's tail glowed white as she rushed towards Roselia, with Drew gritting his teeth before regaining his focus and waiting to make a call.
"Dodge now Roselia! Then use Dazzling Gleam!" Drew said once Skitty was close enough, having Roselia dodge at the last moment before emitting a bright rainbow colored light from its body, that blinded Skitty and knocked her back, taking some of May's points in the process.
"Now use Mega Drain!" Said Drew.
"Rose-lia!" Roselia held out its arms, before emitting a green beam from its flowers that impacted Skitty and drained her energy, transferring it the Thorn Pokémon, along with taking more of May's points.
"Quick, Skitty use Thunderbolt!" May said, as Skitty got back up before firing a large lightning bolt at Roselia.
"I don't think so! Dodge it Roselia and then use Power Whip!" Drew said, with Roselia jumping out of the way of the lightning bolt, before a glowing green whip emerged from its flower and launched at Skitty.
"Catch it with your tail, Skitty!" Said May
"Skitty!" Skitty jumped up and hit the whip with her tail, causing the whip to wrap around the Pokémon's tail.
"Now pull Roselia in and use Double Slap!" May said, with Skitty yanking her tail, causing Roselia to come flying towards her before being hit repeatedly with Skitty's tail, taking some of Drew's points.
"Use Stun Spore Roselia!" Said Drew, with Roselia managing to land on the ground and aim its flowers at Skitty.
"Roselia!" Roselia launched a large amount of orange powder at Skitty.
"Use Disarming Voice to dispel it Skitty!" May said, Skitty letting out a loud shriek accompanied by purple hearts, breaking through the powder and towards Roselia.
"Dodge it Roselia, and then use Sunny Day!" Drew said as Roselia jumped out of the way of Disarming Voice, before white orbs appeared in front of its flowers.
Roselia then raised its hands to the sky and released two white beams from the orbs on its hands into the air, creating a ball of light that became a miniature sun.
"Now use…what?!" Said Drew, when Roselia was suddenly hit by Disarming Voice from behind, causing his points to take another hit.
"You didn't think you were the only one with unavoidable attacks? Disarming Voice can't be dodged and will always find its mark." May said with a smirk, making Drew grit his teeth before he soon smirked.
"Okay, I'll admit that was good. But let's see you handle this, Roselia use Solar Beam!" Drew said, with Roselia sticking its hands up in the air as a white energy ball collects in its flowers.
"You won't get the chance! Skitty use Disarming Voice again along with Attract!" Said May, internally hoping Attract will work.
"Skitty!" Skitty let out a loud shriek accompanied by purple heart, before winking and creating pink hearts that combined with the beam as it rushed towards Roselia.
"Oh no, Roselia!" Said Drew, knowing what was coming and Roselia hasn't finished gathering power for Solar Beam, despite the Sunny Day cutting the charging time for it.
"Rose!" Roselia could do nothing as Skitty's Disarming Voice and Attract hit before he gained hearts in his eyes and looked at Skitty.
Only to cry as the unfinished Solar Beam destabilized and exploded, taking a large amount of Drew's points as a result.
"Come on Roselia hang in there!" Said Drew, encouraging his Pokémon, with Roselia struggling to stand up, only to still be under the effect of Attract, before the green-haired Coordinator lowered his head when a buzzer went off at the judges table.
"And it's battle up for Roselia! With May and Skitty moving on to the second stage!" Vivian declared as the judges declared the battle over, upon seeing that Roselia was unable to continue much longer.
"Alright! We did it Skitty!" May cheered.
"Skitty!" Skitty smiled and ran up to her Trainer, rubbing against her legs, pleased at having won the battle.
"You did you're best Roselia." Drew stated, returning Roselia to his Pokéball before exiting the stage.
After returning to the waiting room, May watched as Ino managed to win her own battle, with Robert winning his as well.
'Meaning, either Ino or I will be facing Robert in the final stage.' May thought, knowing Robert and his Milotic would be one of the final contestants left, especially with how strong Milotic is.
May also knew she'll need to conserve Skitty's strength as best as she can after her battle with Roselia, knowing Ino's Ponyta will be a tough opponent to face. So, she'll likely need to rely on having more points than Ino, when time runs out, or managing to drain all of her points.
It wasn't long, before it was time for the second stage to begin, with May and Ino both going out onto the stage to face each other.
"And here we are in the first match of the second stage; with May and Skitty against Ino and Ponyta! Let the battle begin!" Vivian said as the timer started.
"Skitty, let's go!" May said, sending Skitty out.
"The spotlights yours Ponyta!" Said Ino, sending out Ponyta.
"Alright Ponyta, use Agility and then use Tackle!" Ino said.
"Pony!" Ponyta vanished and appeared in several bursts of speed.
"Skitty use Safeguard, quickly!" Said May, with Skitty's body glowing blue before a blue forcefield appeared around her, just as Ponyta appeared and tackled her, the force of the Tackle still being strong enough to push the forcefield and Skitty back.
"Now use Assist Skitty!" May said.
"Skitty!" Skitty created a white orb on her paw before multiple duplicates of herself appeared, as she used Absol's Double Team.
"Ponyta use Stomp to kick up some dust!" Said Ino, with Ponyta stomping her hooves repeatedly on the ground creating a large cloud of dust.
"Now use Flamethrower all around you!" Ino said, as within the dust cloud, Ponyta began spinning around and releasing a stream of blue flames, with Skitty being unable to dodge the attack, causing May's points to take a hit.
"Skitty use Disarming Voice!" May said, with Skitty letting out a loud shriek and beam of purple hearts towards Ponyta.
"That won't work on us! Use Fire Spin Ponyta!" Ino said.
"Ponyta!" Ponyta breathed out a spiral blast of flames that dispelled Disarming Voice before it could hit and continued on towards Skitty.
"Use Assist again Skitty!" Said May, hoping for a move to use against Fire Spin, as Skitty's paw gained a white orb again this time launching multiple crescent-shaped, purple energy blades, access Absol's Razor Wind this time.
With the Razor Wind slicing through the Fire Spin and impacting Ponyta, causing Ino's points to drop a little.
"Ponyta use Agility and Flame Charge!" Ino said, with Ponyta being covered in flames and vanishing in a burst of speed.
"Skitty use Safeguard again!" Said May, only for Skitty to cry out as Ponyta appeared in front of her, faster than she could use Safeguard, tackling the Kitten Pokémon.
"Oh no Skitty! Quick use Assist again!" May said.
"S-Skitty!" Skitty created a white orb again, this time accessing Combusken's Rock Tomb, with multiple glowing rocks forming around Skitty, which she then launched at Ponyta, while May suddenly got an idea.
"Skitty jump across the rocks and get on Ponyta's back!" Said May, with Skitty doing so, jumping onto the rocks towards Ponyta and landing on her back.
"Throw Skitty off with Stomp, Ponyta!" Ino said, with Ponyta stomping around to try and throw Skitty off her back.
"Now use Assist again, Skitty!" May said, thankful when the next move Skitty used was Beautifly's String Shot, which wrapped Ponyta's body and let Skitty hold onto her.
"Just keep holding on Skitty!" Said May trying to think of a new plan, while seeing that Ino's points were dropping bit-by-bit the longer Skitty held on.
"Ponyta use Fire Spin and jump through the rings to throw Skitty off!" Said Ino, with Ponyta releasing a stream of fire and forming multiple rings which she jumped through, with Skitty coming dangerously close to the flames, but still managed to hang onto her back.
"Okay, if that won't get you off, Ponyta use Agility!" Ino said.
"Pony-ta!" Ponyta vanished in a burst of speed, with Skitty being unable to hold on for much longer as she was finally thrown off Ponyta's back.
"Now use Flame Wheel!" Said Ino, with Ponyta reappearing before charging towards Skitty, with her flaming mane and tail flaring up and surrounding the Fire Horse Pokémon in a large burning wheel.
"Use Safeguard Skitty!" May said, as Skitty glowed blue, before being surrounded by a blue forcefield which Ponyta collided against.
"Now drop Safeguard and use Thunderbolt Skitty!" Said May, as the forcefield immediately vanished.
"Ski-tty!" Skitty then fired a large point blank lightning bolt at Ponyta, who cried out at the hit as she was thrown back, with Ino's points taking a hit as well.
Just then the timer went off, showing that the match had ended, with May and Ino looking at the board, only to see that the brunette just barely ended up with more points.
"Times up! May and Skitty will proceed on to the final battle!" Vivian said, making May smile brightly, while Ino sighed in acceptance before returning Ponyta.
"Well, that's it then. You did really great Ponyta." Said Ino, smiling at her Pokéball before walking up to May.
"Great battle May, you and Skitty were really amazing." Ino said as the two shook hands and smiled at each other.
"Thanks, you and Ponyta were great as well. With how close the Match was, I'm sure that the both of you would have won, if there was just a little more time." May replied, seeing how strong Ponyta was and was sure Ino would have managed to win.
"Thanks, and there's always next time. Good luck in the finals, May." Said Ino, with May nodding in thanks, knowing she'll need it against Robert.
After leaving the stage, Robert and his opponent came out, with the Top Coordinator making short work of his opponent, leaving just him and May to battle and see who'd win.
"And here we are ladies and gentlemen! The final match of the Slateport City Pokémon Contest, to decide which of these Coordinators will receive the Slateport Ribbon! May and her Skitty or Robert and his Milotic! Let the battle begin!" Said Vivian as the timer started.
"Come out now, Milotic!" Said Robert as he sent out Milotic.
"Let's do our best, Skitty!" May said while sending out Skitty, with both Pokémon appeared across from each other.
"Use Iron Tail Skitty!" Said May, with Skitty rushing forward and jumping at Milotic with her tail glowing white.
"Cancel it out with your own Iron Tail, Milotic!" Robert said, as Milotic's own tail glowed white.
The two Iron Tails clashing against each other and cancelling each other out.
"Now attack Skitty with Water Gun!" Said Robert.
"Milo!" Milotic opened its mouth and fired a blast of water at Skitty, launching her back across the stage.
"Skitty use Assist!" May said, with Skitty getting back up as a white orb appeared on her paw.
"Skitty!" Skitty fired dark purple energy blades at Milotic, having accessed Absol's Night Slash.
"Use Water Pulse underneath yourself Milotic!" Said Robert, with Milotic releasing a pulse underneath itself before a geyser launched it into the air avoiding the Night Slash.
"Now use Disarming Voice." Robert said.
"Milo-tic!" Milotic let out a loud shriek and beam of purple hearts towards Skitty, impacting the Kitten Pokémon.
"Oh no, Skitty!" Said May in worry, while her points took a hit.
"Alright Milotic, now use Twister and aim upwards!" Said Robert, as Milotic spun its tailfins around forming a large twister aimed at the ceiling, with Skitty getting pulled towards it.
"Skitty! Use Assist again!" May said, with Skitty creating another white orb before launching multiple blue fireballs at the Twister, accessing Combusken's Will-O-Wisp.
With the Twister being ignited with blue flames that rushed towards Milotic
"Use Safeguard, Milotic!" Robert said, with Milotic being surrounded by a green aura protecting it from the flames and from getting burned.
"Now aim the Twister at Skitty!" Said Robert.
"Milotic!" Milotic aimed the now flaming Twister at Skitty, who had no time to dodge as she was sucked into the Twister and burned by Will-O-Wisp, with May's points dropping the longer she was inside the Twister.
"Skitty!" May said in worry for her Pokémon.
"Milotic use Aqua Tail and combine it with Twister!" Said Robert, with Milotic's tail glowing blue with water swirling at the tip before the water combined with Twister, extinguishing the flames, and turning it into a large whirlpool of wind and water.
"Skitty!" Skitty was thrown out of the Aqua Tail-enhanced Twister, crashing down onto the stage.
"Skitty! Are you alright?!" May asked, looking at the Kitten Pokémon.
"Sk-Ski-" Skitty tried standing up, only to fall over with swirls in her eyes, with a buzzer going off.
"And it looks like that's the match folks! Skitty is unable to continue battling, so the winners of the Slateport Contest are Robert and Milotic!" Vivian declared with the crowd cheering, while Robert smiled at the audience.
"You did, you did amazing Skitty, thank you." Said May as she returned Skitty to her Pokéball, disappointed that she had lost the Contest as she left the stage, where she was greeted by Naruto and Ino.
"You did really great out there May, you and Skitty." Ino said, smiling at her friend/rival.
"We still lost though; we didn't even last the entire match." May stated, with Naruto putting a hand on her shoulder.
"But you still made it to the finals, which wasn't easy against Drew and Ino. Along with Skitty being tired, while Robert and his Milotic are a very strong and experienced team, nor did they look that beat up from his previous battles. So yeah, maybe you didn't win the Contest, but you still did the best that you could." Said Naruto, with the Yamanaka nodding in agreement.
"Naruto's right, you saw how strong Milotic was in the other stages. You did lose, but look at it this way, it just shows us how far we need to take our own training to reach the same level, that Robert and Milotic are on." Ino added, with the brunette smiling at them for trying to cheer her up.
"Yeah, you're both right, even if I lost, I still made it this far and did my best. And yeah, we'll really need to step up our training to reach that level, one day." Said May as they looked at the screen, where Robert was being awarded the Slateport Ribbon.
Both Coordinators knowing they'll have a lot of training to do, to reach that same level.
*Later*
"See you Ino, hopefully we'll run into you guys again at the next Contest." May said as she and Ino shook hands.
"Maybe, though we may go to other towns and cities that are holding Contests instead. Since I do want to win my own Ribbons and can't do that if you're always there winning them instead." Replied Ino with a good-natured smirk
"Hey maybe you'll be able to beat me, far, far into the future." Said May with her own smirk.
"See you guys next time, and maybe you'll hopefully find something to actually do, by the time we see each other again, Shikamaru." Naruto said as he exchanged goodbyes with Chōji and Shikamaru.
"Not likely, I'm perfectly content just relaxing with no more worries." Stated Shikamaru, while Chōji patted his friend on the back.
"Don't worry Shikamaru, I'm sure there'll be something you'll want to do, here." Chōji said, given with how many professions there are in the Server Regions.
The group then saw Robert walking towards them, with the Top Coordinator smiling at them.
"May, Ino, I just wanted to say you both did amazing in the Contest. I'm sure that both of you will have what it takes to make it to the Grand Festival." Said Robert while shaking their hands, with the two smiling at his words.
"Thanks Robert, your Milotic was also amazing and beautiful to see." Ino replied, with May nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, and we intend to reach the Grand Festival." Added May, refusing to give up until she got five Ribbons.
"You better, it'd be shameful for me to lose to you, if you didn't." Drew said while walking up to them.
"Drew?" May said in surprise, even more so when he held out his hand.
"I guess I was wrong, you actually are a half-decent Coordinator. But it's obvious your Pokémon will be doing most of the work." Said Drew with a smirk, making May's eye twitch before she shook his hand, seeing that's just his way of complimenting her.
"Thanks, I think." May replied.
Team Ten, Robert, and Drew then all took their leaves, leaving just Naruto and May, with the brunette looking at her boyfriend.
"So, you said you had something special planned for after the Contest? Finally going to tell me?" May asked, smiling at the Uzumaki, with Naruto offering her his hand.
"I thought you'd be willing to go on a date with me, to show you a great time, no matter who won the Contest." Replied Naruto, making the Coordinator smile and take his hand.
"Fine, but only one date. I have a boyfriend, you know." May stated as they began walking.
"Sounds like a lucky guy to have someone like you, May-chan." Naruto said, with May kissing him on the cheek.
"Yeah, you really are lucky Naruto-kun." May stated with a smirk.
*Later*
The couple had decided to go on their date to a nice café, with them getting a table outside to enjoy their food.
"Are you still upset about losing the Contest?" Naruto asked after seeing May wasn't talking much, the brunette looking at him and shaking his head.
"No, I'm not upset anymore. Just thinking on what to do now, since all we have to do is wait for Captain Stern to return, to give him the Devon Parts." Said May, knowing they still had a few days, before he returned.
"Well, we could train, see what Pokémon there are that we could catch, explore more of the city, or we could also go to the beach again." Naruto said, with May smirking at the last suggestion.
"You're just looking for a reason to see me in a bikini again." Stated May.
"And can you blame me?" Naruto replied, admitting he would like to see May in her other bikinis.
"Nope, since I got my own nice view as well. But if you want to see me in my bikinis Naruto-kun, you just have to ask." May said while smiling slyly, not minding if Naruto asked her to wear her bikinis more often.
"Maybe, but then it wouldn't be as special, as opposed to only seeing them when we go to the beach or swimming. Besides, you look amazing, no matter what you're wearing May-chan." Said Naruto, making the brunette smile before kissing him.
"Thank you Naruto-kun." May said.
"And after we give the Devon Parts to Captain Stern, we'll be able to head to Dewford Town for your third Gym Badge. By the way, have you thought of which Pokémon you'll be using?" May asked, with Naruto thinking it over.
"Yeah, I have. From what I heard, the Dewford Gym Leader uses Fighting-type Pokémon, so I'm thinking of bringing Gallade to use against him. Along with Grovyle since Grass-types are resistant to Fighting-types. But I'm not sure which other Pokémon to use, since none of my other ones would have an advantage, while Zoroark would be at a disadvantage." Replied Naruto, with May nodding.
"I'm sure you'll think of something, and if not, then there's always the chance of catching some Pokémon that could help. Oh yeah! We also need to deliver Mr. Stone's letter to his son, Steven, in Dewford as well." May said, remembering they also had to deliver Mr. Stone's letter to his son.
"Oh yeah, almost forgot about that. I hope he's still in Dewford." Said Naruto, hoping they didn't miss Steven, with how long it's been since they were in Rustboro and were asked to deliver the letter.
After they finished eating and paying for their food, the couple returned to the Pokémon Center, where they got changed and called it a night. Though after a few moments, May opened her eyes and looked over at Naruto, checking to make sure he was really asleep.
'Now's my chance.' May thought before pulling out one of the books she purchased after their beach date, grinning eagerly as she opened it up to get some…reading done.
She just hoped, she didn't end up waking Naruto up.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see May, Drew, and Robert's performances, with Roberts being expanded, along with seeing Ino has caught a Shiny Ponyta. Then we see the battles with May managing to defeat Drew this time along with Ino, before losing to Robert in the end, but is comforted by Naruto and Ino, with both Coordinators knowing they'll need a lot of training to reach Robert's level. Finally we see Naruto and May planning out what they'll be doing next in Slateport and moving onto Dewford. Now onto the Omake!
Omake: Firecracker-In-Training
"Oh Professor Oak, I was actually just about to call you! What're you doing here?" Asked Delia Ketchum as she opened the door and found her former mentor standing outside.
"Hello Delia, it's good to see you again. I actually came to check on how Hanabi and her Egg are doing." Replied Oak, making Delia smile.
"That's actually why I was going to call you, Hanabi thinks it's going to hatch soon." Revealed Delia, surprising Oak before smiling in excitement at hearing this.
"That's wonderful news!" Oak stated, excited at the chance to see Hanabi's Pokémon Egg hatch, to find out what kind of Pokémon it was.
Delia lead Professor Oak into the living room, where Hanabi sat in front of the coffee table, smiling eagerly at her Pokémon Egg as it was flashing a glowing white. Before the young Hyūga spotted them and quickly waved them over.
"Professor Oak, look! It just started glowing earlier! Does that mean it's hatching?! It has to be hatching, since it never did this before!" Hanabi said, excited at the chance to see what Pokémon was inside the Egg, she found.
With Hanabi remembering when she first found the Egg, a few weeks ago.
*Flashback*
Hanabi wrote down on her notepad, as she watched several different Pokémon interact with each other in the forest. Having been sent out by Professor Oak to gather some notes on how Pokémon behave and interact with each other, in their natural environment. With her Byakugan making it so she could observe them at a distance, without worry of being seen or disturbing them, along with being able to look inside their bodies as well.
'They act really different from the ones at the lab.' Hanabi thought, seeing how wild Pokémon tend to be rather aggressive when a Trainer intrudes on their territory, but when it's just them, they remain rather peaceful.
They only seemed to get aggressive with other Pokémon, is when they get too close to their homes, nests, dens, and other places they've marked as their territory. Especially, if they get too close to their young, then they get really violent and attack the intruding Pokémon. While the ones she's seen at the lab remained relatively peaceful, only really getting violent if they're annoyed.
'Okay, I think I've gotten plenty of notes and data for today.' Thought Hanabi, before getting up to head back to the lab, while looking through her notepad.
Having been able to get notes on Pidgey, Caterpies, Weedles, Rattata, even a few unexpected ones like a Bulbasaur, a Squirtle, a Wigglytuff, and a Kangaskhan. With the Hyūga being surprised at seeing just how many different Pokémon there were, near Pallet Town.
Though suddenly, Hanabi yelped when she tripped over something; groaning slightly, as she hit the ground before looking at what she tripped over. Only to gasp in shock and amazement when she saw a large yellow egg, that was red at the bottom, with a red band around the middle, and two grey dots on the top.
"A Pokémon Egg?!" Hanabi said in shock at seeing a Pokémon Egg, having heard about them, but never actually saw one in person.
Before she shook off her shock and quickly grabbed the Egg in her arms, running back to Professor Oak's Lab, though being careful not to drop the Egg, knowing the Professor will want to see this.

When she returned to the lab and showed Oak the Egg, he'd run numerous tests on it, to try and find out if it was alright and what kind of Pokémon would hatch from it. And while he found out the Egg was perfectly fine and healthy; he was unable to determine what kind of Pokémon would hatch from it. With Oak deciding to let Hanabi keep it, much to her surprise and happiness, providing her a case and a Pokéball to catch the newborn Pokémon, when it hatched.
With Hanabi having spent every day taking care of the Egg, bringing it with her wherever she went, cleaning it, even talking to it, eager for the day it'd finally hatch. Which she hoped was now today, as it had started glowing like it was now.
The three gathering around the Egg, eager to see what kind of Pokémon would hatch from it. Only for the Egg to suddenly stop glowing, confusing Hanabi as she looked at Oak in confusion and worry.
"What happened? Isn't the Egg going to hatch? Is something wrong with it? Did I do something wrong?" Hanabi asked, worried she made a mistake, and something happened, before Delia put a hand on her shoulder and smiled reassuringly at her.
"Relax Hanabi, I'm sure your Egg is fine. And I know you did nothing wrong in taking care of it." Assured Delia, with Oak nodding in agreement.
"She's right Hanabi, nothing's wrong with your Egg. And you were correct, I believe it will be hatching soon, but not today it seems. I can only say to keep taking care of it and it may end up hatching, any day now." Said Oak, with Hanabi calming down at their words, before nodding and looking at the Egg with a smile.
'I'll take care of you, I promise.' Hanabi thought, eager to see her Egg finally hatch, but was fine waiting a little longer.
Knowing that when it did, she'll have first Pokémon.
And we get a look at Hanabi in Pallet Town with her having found a Pokémon Egg while helping Professor Oak, which he let her keep as her first Pokémon when it hatches. So, review if you liked go away if you didn't.
