I've had this idea for quite some time now and it seems someone had beaten me to the punch!
If you haven't go and read "Jaune's eyes of the lord" By RandomDude92! It's an absolute banger. I think the only similarity is the ability to copy others moves. What unfortunate timing for me! Haha!
Seriously go follow and Fav him if you haven't already.
I'm absolute trash when it comes to writing stuff like this and I hope you stick with me as I improve over more chapters. It will most likely follow canon but change the majority of it.
If you like what you read please leave a follow or fav if ya have the time!
Please enjoy!

Jaune Arc was way in over his head. He had been panicking ever since he got onto this damn flying death trap and he could feel his breakfast threatening to come back up. Thankfully his father had unlocked his aura before this flight, which helped a little with the motion sickness.
He took deep breaths to calm himself down in his seat. Once the feeling of nausea had passed, he looked around at his peers and noticed a few people snickering in his direction.
'Great, not even at the school and I'm already a laughing stock.' He frowned, trying to focus on other things.
"Hello and welcome to Beacon." A hologram of a blonde women popped up and welcomed them. Jaune decided to risk it and stood up to go and listen to the message.
"Who's that?" Asked a blonde bombshell to his right.
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch." The hologram said, as if responding to the girl.
"Oh."
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honour of being selected to attend this prestigious academy!" Glynda's said and Jaune felt his stomach drop again.
'Please gods...' He pleaded mentally, trying his best to calm his nerves once more, to no avail. He droned out of the welcome message, focusing more on his breathing technique than anything else. Not bothering to care about those who pointed and laughed at him.
"Look! You can see Signal from up here!" The short redhead tinted girl bounced happily at the window. "I guess home isn't that far away after all." She said somewhat sadly.
"Beacon's out home now." The blonde girl from earlier comforted the little red girl.
Jaune paid the girls no mind however, as he groaned in pain, knowing what was coming. He stumbled past the two girls and hunched over the trashcan that was, conveniently next to them.
"Guess the views not for everyone..." The blonde rolled her eyes at the boy who had just ruined their tender family moment.
Jaune heaved into the trashcan and threw up his previous meal. Ignoring the screams and panic of the girls next to him, he continued to empty his guts into the metal cylinder.
"Gross! Yang, there's puke on your shoes!" The small one cried out, distancing herself from the blonde girl.
"Gross gross gross gross gross gross!" Yang repeated while running to the on flight bathroom so she could clean her boots.
"I'm.." Another bout of vomit escaped the boys mouth "Sorry!" He cried. Curse this motion sickness and curse these flying pieces of metal! People had legs for a reason!
Once he was finished throwing up, he slumped down into the seat closest to the bin, just in case round two decided to come up. Not that he had anything left in him to throw up.
"Just focus on breathing..." He muttered to himself "God, I should never have come here..."
Luckily for the Arc, the ship came to a halt and the doors flung open. "Thank G..!" As soon as he stood up from his seat a new wave of nausea washed over him. 'Get off of ship!' His mind screamed at him and he broke out into a wobbly sprint, hopping off of the airship and finding another conveniently place trashcan.
"I hate my life!" He managed to shout in between the heaving. At least he was off that floating tin can and finally on solid ground. He promised he would never take his legs for granted ever again.
Suddenly the ground shook around him and his eyes shot up, scanning for the cause of the minor earthquake. A cloud of electrified smoke shrouded two figures along with a freshly made crater in the floor. Once the smoke and dust had settled he could make out a small, slim girl, clad in all white, yelling at the short redhead that was on the ship. A third girl appeared and seemed to have defused the situation as they both walked away, leaving the redhead dazed and confused.
Jaune frowned as the cloaked redhead fell to the ground and spread her arms out. 'Looks like I'm not the only one struggling to fit in...' He thought as he walked over to the girl and extending a hand to her "Hey, I'm Jaune." He introduced nervously.
To his surprise, she accepted his offer for help, grabbing onto his hand "Ruby." She replied, getting to her feet "Aren't you the guy who threw up on the ship?" She asked and his face dropped, going red with embarrassment.
"Motion sickness is no joke." He laughed, awkwardly rubbing the back of his head "At least I didn't explode." He shot back playfully.
"Not my fault." Ruby pouted "It was that crabby girls fault." She laughed "It's nice to see not everyone here is stuck up and rude. Thanks for helping me by the way." She shot him a genuine smile.
"It's fine." He stuttered "Like my mum always says, 'Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet.'" He quoted proudly but grit his teeth as a burning sensation surrounded his right wrist. He sucked in a breath of air as burning sensation slowly faded.
"Are you okay?" Ruby asked, concern evident on her face.
"Y..Yeah, I'm fine." He replied, rubbing his wrist softly. He didn't know what had just happened but it hurt like hell.
Ruby shot him an unconvinced look, but chose to accept his word "Okayyy. Do you know where the initiation hall is?" She thankfully changed the subject.
"Nope. Maybe we should look together? Ya know, two heads being better than one and whatnot." He suggested.
"Good idea, Jaune. We'll find it in no time!" She pumped her fist in the air.
After the headmasters speech, if you could even call it that, Jaune found himself laying down on his 'bed' for the night. Bed meaning a sleeping bag on the cold floor without a pillow. He reached for his sword and frowned with a small sigh, he felt naked without his families heirloom by his side.
He noticed Ruby wave over to him with a big smile, and he waved back. Wincing when the burning feeling came back. He inspected his wrist expecting to find some kind of mark to assure himself that he wasn't going insane, but there was nothing.
He threw his head back against the wall he had set up camp by and closed his eyes. 'Everyone is so strong here... What am I even doing here?'
He opened his eyes to see the four girls from earlier arguing amongst each other once again and decided it was time to call it a night.
"I would have remembered putting my equipment in locker 636 yesterday... I would have had to count that high..." He grumbled angrily through the locker room, passing by the white haired Heiress, Weiss Schnee and an unfamiliar girl with a long flowing ponytail.
Jaune Arc was many things, a morning person was not one of them. Having to wake up this early and get ready for initiation was like torture to the usually lax boy. He made it to his locked and started throwing on his armour, a simple lightweight chest plate strapped around his shoulders along with a few cheap but matching arm guards. Finally he strapped his sword to his left hilt and stood up straight.
"That sounds great!" Came the unsure voice of the ponytailed girl talking with Weiss.
Jaune could see she was uncomfortable and decided to try and help her out. He slapped his cheeks with his hands and focused 'Dad, said confidence, just be confident!' He strolled over to the girls as smoothly as he could and leaned up against one of the lockers "You know what else is great? Me, Jaune Arc." He winked at the redhead.
"Pfft, Jaune, was it?" Weiss scoffed and he nodded "Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"
He looked over to the girl and blinked "Nope." He answered simply.
Weiss gasped in shock "This is Pyrrha Nikos."
"Hello." Said girl waved at the boy and he shyly waved back.
"She graduated top of her class at Sanctum." Weiss said smugly while Jaune stared back at her confused.
"Never heard of it." He shrugged, noticing Pyrrha's face light up.
"She's set the record of Mistral Region tournaments by winning 4 years in a row. A new record!" Weiss praised the girls accomplishments once again and once again they flew right over the boys head.
"The what?"
Weiss was growing more irate every second passed talking to this blonde buffoon. "She's on the cover of every Pumpkin Petes Marshmallow flakes box!"
"Ohhhhhh..." Jaune droned "So? Why does that mean I can't talk to her?"
"Actually, I would love to get to know you more, Jaune." Pyrrha spoke up and smiled at him, causing him to go a deep crimson.
Weiss was once again stunned, had Pyrrha Nikos just ditched her for this blonde idiot? She was fuming "Whatever!" Weiss spat and stormed off.
"What's her problem?" Jaune asked, earning him a headshake from Pyrrha.
"Thank you for that." She bowed.
"It's fine." He waved her off "I know when someone can't take a hint." He shivered as memories of him talking to girls back home flooded his mind.
"She meant no harm, she was just a tad overwhelming..." She explained "I'm glad you saved me though. My hero." She smirked.
Jaune smiled and once more his wrist metaphorically ignited in a surging heat. He let out a gasp and gripped at it with his other hand. Sweat started to form on his forehead as he bent over, breathing heavily.
"Are you okay, Jaune?" Pyrrha bent down to his level, a small amount of fear in her emerald orbs "What's wrong?"
"I don't know." He spoke through grit teeth. What on Remnant was happening to him? Soon the pain faded and his breathing steadied, he wiped the sweat off of his head with his sleeve and let out a sigh of relief.
"Do you need to go to the nurse?" Pyrrha asked, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"I'm okay. This just happens sometimes." He explained.
"You should probably get that checked out." She insisted.
The speakers buzzed to life in the locker room "Would all first year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation." The voice of Goodwitch requested.
"After initiation I will. I promise." Jaune held out his pinkie finger.
Pyrrha smiled at the childish gesture and wrapped her own pinkie around his "If you don't, I'll drag you there myself."
"Come on, let's go."
'I'm going to kill that man!' He made a mental promise as he flew threw the sky. 'That is if I survive this damn fall!' What kind of headmaster thinks it's a good idea to fling his students into a Grimm infested forest?
"Oh god! Oh god!" Jaune screamed 'Landing strategy! Landing strategy! What the hell is a landing strategy!' He was broken out of his thoughts as a familiar spear pierced his hood and pinned him against a tree.
"Thank you!" He shouted out to his saviour.
"You're welcome!" Came the reply of Pyrrha.
His legs dangled freely, happy to still be working after his short flight. After a while he heard some rustling in the bushes below him "About time, Pyrrha. Mind getting me down from here." He looked down and was met with a very pissed off looking Weiss.
She looked up at him and focused on the weapon that was used to lodge him in the tree and she felt her fist clench in anger. With a huff, she twirled around and left the way she came.
"Bitch..." He muttered under his breath.
"Jaune!" Pyrrha called out from beneath him "Just hanging around?" She asked playfully.
"Very funny." He crossed his arms in feigned annoyance, but couldn't help the smile creeping on his face "A little help?"
Pyrrha raised her arm and it started to glow black. The spear slowly freed itself and gently lowered Jaune to the ground.
"Okay, that was cool." He complimented the girl, noticing a small blush sweep across her cheeks "So, guess we're partners now." He grinned happily "I promise not to hold you back too much." He laughed.
"You'll do no such thing." She smiled "Let's head toward the temple."
"Sure thing, partner."
The pair's journey was relatively quiet, a few Beowolf here an Ursa there, nothing survived as Pyrrha danced across the terrain, ending all in her path. Jaune didn't have a chance to help, not that he would've been much help, having no prior battle experience. The most he had done was spar with his dad and even then he was put on his ass so fast it didn't count.
Jaune let out a breath of relief 'I'd really gotten luck in the partner department...' He notice a light from within a nearby cave and called the girl over. "I saw a light in there." He pointed to the dark entrance "Think this is the place?"
Pyrrha examined the cave entrance and shrugged "We could check it out if you want?" she offered.
"Might as well!" Jaune brushed past some bushes and entered the dark entrance. Pyrrha just shrugged and followed the boy with a smile.
"Pyrrha! Quick, I see the glow!" He shouted back to her and she quickly caught up, just in time to see her partner grab onto the glowing item. The glow slowly pulled him forward and lots of red eyes started to glow.
"I don't think this is the relic, Pyrrha!" He screamed in panic as his armour started to glow black and he was forcefully pulled back to his partner. "Thank you!" He cried.
"Thank me later." The creature roared in anger at the two intruders "Run?"
"Run." Jaune nodded, taking off in a full on sprint.
Now Jaune wasn't smartest guy in the world, but he was by far not an idiot, and he knew he wouldn't be able to outrun the oversized scorpion for long. Their best bet would be making it to the temple and praying to the gods that there would still be other students there to help. He seriously doubted him and Pyrrha could take on a Grimm this size and he wasn't willing to find out.
The pair ducked under low branches and jumped small bushes and rocks that would no longer be a thing once the Deathstalker trampled everything in its way.
"I see a clearing!" Pyrrha pointed to an open area where several pedestals stood tall.
He nodded and used all his energy in a final sprint and burst into the clearing. As he landed, he lost his footing and fell into a roll.
"Did they just run all the way here with a Deathstalker on their tail?" The bow wearing girl asked the girl he knew as Yang.
Before the bombshell could respond an orange haired girl appeared at the other side of the forest riding an Ursa.
"Was that girl just riding an Ursa?"
"A little help please!" Jaune shouted at the girls as he drew his sword and deployed his shield "Pyrrha!" He ran to the girl who was currently holding off the scorpion on her own.
"Jaune!" She called back, deflecting a strike form one of its pincers.
Jaune felt his wrist flare up and noticed a deep red band wrap around his arm. He shook his head and decided to deal with whatever that was later. He launched himself at the pincer that was swinging at his partners blind side and deflected it with his shield.
Pyrrha mimicked the action with the other pincer and they both spun around each other to slash at the opposite side.
"Woah!" Jaune steadied himself in surprise 'What's going on?'.
"Heads up!" Ruby yelled happily as her and Weiss fell out of the sky.
Weiss raised her rapier and planted it in the ground in front of the Grimm as she landed. A huge wall of ice encased the majority of the creature, stopping it completely.
"Thanks for the save guys." Jaune sighed, falling to the ground in exhaustion. He looked to his arm to see that the red band had disappeared. He raised his arm "Weird..."
Pyrrha picked her partner up "I didn't know you knew any Mistrallian sword techniques."
"Me either." He replied honestly "Guess I just got lucky." He laughed.
"We have to move. There's no point in staying here, out objective was to grab a relic and get back to the cliff." Ruby took lead.
"Run and live?" Jaune laughed "A plan I can get behind."
A screech echoed across the empty landscape and all eyes went up.
"A freakin' Nevermore!" Yang complained.
"Blame Ruby." Weiss said "I don't think the plans gonna be as simple as 'run and live' with that in the sky."
As if on cue, Ice shard rained over them and the bubbly ginger girl turned around "Or with the big scary scorpion chasing us!"
"Ruby, do you think you and Weiss can take down the big bird?" Jaune asked the small scythe wielder, seriously the face she could even carry that thing impressed him.
"We're helping her." Yang added "Blake?"
"Sure." The dark haired girl said simply.
"Okay, the rest of you, on me!" Jaune instructed.
"Lead the way, fearless leader!" The ginger yelled happily while her partner sighed.
He turned to Pyrrha who nodded with a small smirk on her face. He'd ask her what was so funny later, but right now they had a mission.
Ruby and the girls had already started their assault on the Nevermore, shooting all kinds of colourful looking projectiles at it. He would've liked to admire the fireworks show a bit longer, but a sharp tail smashed the ground in front of him.
"Shit!" The burning of his wrist was fainter this time, but it was still there. He flipped backwards several times before landing on his feet, sword drawn. "Okay! what the hell?" He shouted in confusion as he rushed back to the monster, not noticing the red band was back.
Ren was hailing bullets at the creatures eyes in an attempt to blind it, but they were protected by the hard bone casing. "Nora!" He called out to the ginger.
A sick smile made its way on to her face "Got it, Ren!" She slammed her hammed into the left side of the Deathstalker's face casing, causing some of it to crumble away. She clicked a button on her weapon and an explosion followed by a thin layer of pink smoked covered the creature.
Ren took advantage of the situation and more bullets into the, now exposed, face of the Grimm. It let out a screech of pain and waved it's pincers around wildly.
Jaune jumped in and grabbed Nora before jumping away to safety. Pyrrha capitalised on that and launched her weapon into the barely exposed eye with perfect precision.
"We need something that can penetrate it's armour." Jaune said, eyes going up to the stinger. His eyes lit up "Nora, I got an idea. I'm going to fling you in the air, you'll know what to do when you're up there."
"Smash?" She asked excitedly.
"Yes, smash." He smiled "On my mark, yeah?" She nodded and he grinned 'Here goes nothing!' He felt adrenaline rush through him "Pyrrha! Aim for the stinger!" He called out.
"Got it!" She flung her shield, severing the stinger from the tail. The gold glowing stinger went dull in colour as it crashed into the head of the scorpion.
"Nora, Now!"
"Yup!" She jumped onto his shield and he pushed off of the ground. She let out a happy giggle as she reached the apex of her height and sent off a grenade to increase her falling speed. She brought the hammer down onto the severed stinger and it dug deep into the creatures head.
The Deathstalker died instantly and slowly began evaporating into a black mist.
"We did it?" He asked, unsure if he was seeing the scene before him as truth.
"Yes we did." Pyrrha came up to her partner "Great plan, by the way." She smiled "You need to tell me where you learned how to fight. I'm impressed."
"Heh..." He chuckled nervously "Later." He raised his hand to high five his partner and noticed the red band was connected to Pyrrha.
Pyrrha's eyes widened "What is that?" She asked slowly.
"That's Aura..." Ren spoke up "Maybe, it's his semblance?" He offered.
"I don't know what it is." Jaune replied "My wrist started to randomly burn once I met Pyrrha and Ruby. That's all I can tell you."
"Maybe it's an emotional connection? It is currently linked to your partner." Ren responded, intrigued at the odd skill.
"Ooooh try it on me!" Nora bounced on the spot.
"I.. I don't know how." He frowned.
"That's fine! We have four years to find out how." She grinned "We're going to be the best of friends!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Jaune grasped at his arm as the fire came back, a surprised yelp escaping the boys lips as the red band faded and a bright orange one appeared, linking to Nora.
"Fascinating..." Ren studied the flow of aura from the boy to the girl.
"Can we talk about this at school? This forest is freaking me out." Jaune lied walked over to the relics, Nora in tow. Both picking up identical chess pieces.
"You okay?" Nora asked gently.
"Yeah... Just a bit overwhelmed." He admitted "It's a lot to take in I suppose."
She nodded understandingly "Come on, let's go to the others."
"Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will be known as team JNPR." Headmaster Ozpin welcomed the four trainees to the stage for successfully passing initiation "Led by, Jaune Arc!"
"L..Led by?" Jaune looked at Ozpin as if he had grown two heads "This must be a mistake."
"Congratulations, young man."
Jaune held his head low and Pyrrha smiled at him. The four students walked off of the stage and the next four replaced them.
"Congrats, fearless leader!" Nora smiled "Knew you'd be the one."
"What? How?"
"It was a pretty easy choice." Ren shrugged "You're quick on your feet when it comes to making plans. You think we could've killed that Deathstalker without your plan?"
"They're right, Jaune." Pyrrha added "You're going to be a brilliant leader!" She reassured him.
"Haha... Thanks guys..." He smiled sadly 'Would feel nicer if I hadn't cheated my way here...'
"Come on, let's go check out our room." Ren said, walking out of the hall.
"Right behind you, Renny!"
Woooooo Chapter 1 is done! I have no beta reader or anyone to help me so If it's poorly written don't kill me!
