Sorry I've been away for so long, but I've been having to focus on several other projects over the past year or so. Hopefully they'll bear fruit soon!
While trying to write this next chapter, I felt like I'm not writing Star Trek anymore :/ it's been very frustrating, and while I've been trying to keep this AU an AU, it's been a royal pain in my alps trying to keep everything in track, and even then, it doesn't write like a Trek story.
I've been reading your reviews and am inclined to agree with how poorly written it's been, I will be back tracking all the way back to chapter one, refine the writing but also change this back to something more in the realm of Star Trek.
I was so intent on making this AU because I was hoping to make a topsy turvy time travel tie in with another fanfic I wrote a bit of for the Enterprise era called Odium, where Andorians (with an Andorian character taking T'Pol's place as science officer) took the place of the Vulcans because Vulcans turned more like the Romulans and so the people who would have become the Romulans didn't evacuate their homeworld, and without the Romulans, another species rose to dominate their area of space in the form of the Irrujin Principalities. Also, where Captain Archer, because of the war-torn theme of their rise to the stars (they were invaded by the Vulcans instead of a couple of people come down say hi and sample some of Cochrane's liquor), steadily turns more into a typical, optimistic Starfleet explorer instead of the other way around in the TV show where post-Xindi stuff made him much more defensive and paranoid.
I can see my eyes were more ambitious than my stomach in this regard and bit off far more then I could chew.
If I continue this AU, it will have to be in the form of Odium.
So! Hopefully, expect some updates with Primeval soon, but I understand very well of any readers who choose not to continue reading, unfollowing and so forth due to being invested in the Alternate Universe element. Also, changing it right from an SI to just a plain OC. By this point the only thing Ivan and I share is that we are Wild Wild West (the really crappy movie, not the tv show) enthusiasts, and we are easily addicted to alcohol.
I'll be putting a small tidbit in the beginning of the first chapter for future viewers until I am done.
See ya'll again soon!
