Aizawa looked around the room, eyes scanning the faces of the students as he spoke.
"Today's Foundational Heroics Training will be Rescue training," Aizawa muttered in his usual tired tone as he held up the card unenthusiastically, "Myself, and one other Pro will be supervising you this time. All Might is currently…busy."
He ignored the slightly disappointed murmurs as he continued to look around the room, his gaze lingering on Midoriya. A slight pang of guilt washed through him as he looked at the boy. He would need to talk to him soon, maybe after the exercise. Shaking his head slightly, he continued speaking.
"You'll want to choose whether or not to wear your costumes for this exercise," he glanced to the side as the shelves slid from the wall, the class already on their feet and moving to grab the cases, "This is a good opportunity to find out if you need to change things on them."
He waited until the green-haired teen passed by him, startling the boy as he grabbed his shoulder.
"I have something I need to talk to you about after the lesson today," he said in a low voice, Izuku just nodding nervously as he went to grab his costume case.
The class spoke loudly as they gathered outside the bus, Izuku blushing slightly as Ochako moved up beside him, talking quietly. He didn't miss the slight flash of disappointment across her face as she looked down at his makeshift costume. He was simply wearing the school PE uniform under the jacket his Sire had given him, not having even bothered with the dress shoes, simply wearing his regular sneakers. The green-haired teen apologized automatically as she suddenly blushed.
"Oh no! It's nothing!" the brunette chuckled half-heartedly, "It's just…I liked your other costume."
"Oh…yeah," Izuku mumbled, "It kind of got…burned up. But I've already asked the Support Department to make me something sturdier. I also asked then to make sure that it tied in with the jacket a bit more."
"That's good," Ochako grinned, "Hey, the bus has free form seating, want to sit next to each other?"
"Wa-wait what?" Izuku squeaked, "R-really?"
"Yeah, I mean, you're my friend, right?"
"Of course!" Izuku blushed as they walked onto the bus, giving the dejected Iida a strange look as he muttered something about a seating plan.
"Midoriya, I tend to say what's on my mind," the frog-quirked girl said plainly from the seat beside him, startling the teen out of the quiet conversation he'd been having with Ochako as the bus moved towards their destination, "Sensei warned us that your quirk was dangerous. So, what exactly is it, kero?"
"Oh, I'm…uhm…I'm basically a Vampire," Izuku replied, looking around at the slightly confused gazes of the other students, "Except I can walk in the sun. And no, I'm not vulnerable to garlic or holy symbols. Running water doesn't seem affect me in any noticeable way. Silver does give me a bit of a rash though. And I'm pretty sure a stake to the heart would kill anyone. No idea about holy water, haven't tested it yet."
"A fellow emissary of darkness," the raven headed boy, Tokoyami, said quietly, making the rest of the class laugh.
"Oh wow, that's pretty cool!" Kirishima, sitting opposite him, chuckled, "Way cooler than my quirk! All I've got is hardening. It's pretty plain."
"No," Izuku chuckled, eye sparkling as he produced one of his notebooks, flipping open its pages as he began to scribble inside, "I think it's cool. A good quirk for a hero."
"Thanks man," the red head laughed.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Bakugo shouted from his seat near the back, "STUPID FUCKING DEKU DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A QUIRK GROWING UP!"
"Is that true?" a girl with earphone jacks hanging from her earlobes asked, "How's that work?"
"Oh well…there was an…incident and well…," Izuku chuckled sheepishly, smiling weakly when the class stared at him, "I…uhm… That's when I got my quirk."
"So, you're something of a late bloomer?" Yaoyorozu nodded, "I can understand, it took me quite a while to understand my quirk."
"Not really," Izuku sighed, drawing more looks, "Saying I'm a late bloomer is, for lack of-…is an understatement. I really didn't have a quirk growing up, and I never told anyone about it when I got this one."
"Like the fucking liar you are," Bakugo spat from his seat in the back, glaring at Izuku.
"Dude, that's totally unmanly!" Kirishima shouted as he stood up, immediately getting scolded by Iida.
"Hey, it's kind of expected from him, right?" a blond with a black lightning bolt in his hair laughed, "We've barely known each other for a week and we all already know that Blasty over there has the personality of a flaming dumpster full of shit!"
"FUCK YOU! I'LL KILL YOU!" Bakugo screeched as he jumped forwards, only Aizawa's grunt of irritation from the front of the bus holding him back as the class quietened down.
Izuku smiled slightly, talking quietly to Ochako and Asui. He shifted slightly in his seat, Ochako seeming to be pressed quite close against him. He blinked as she shifted as well, moving closer even as he tried to back away.
"Midoriya," Asui said, prodding him in the side with a finger, "You're almost sitting on top of me."
"Oh! S-sorry, Asui!" Izuku stammered as he pushed Uraraka back so he could sit more comfortably in his seat, "I…uh…I wasn't paying attention."
"It's alright. And call me Tsu."
Izuku was near vibrating as he listened to the Space Hero: Thirteen describe and explain the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. Uraraka was in a similar state beside him, both excited to see the Rescue Hero. They grinned at each other as the space suit wearing Pro led them inside, pointing out each of the zones within the massive dome by name. Izuku blinked as a slight buzzing filled his ears, looking around for the source of the noise. He focused down on the main plaza, his eyes going wide as he watched the dark smoke appear from thin air.
"Uhm…sensei?" he said, pointing down to the plaza, "What's that?"
"Is this part of the exercise?" Kirishima asked as the black suited man suddenly shoved them back.
"No," the Pro growled, watching the dark circle, a single pale hand reaching out and pulling it open wider, the mist spreading out as more figures started to emerge from it, "Those are real Villains. Thirteen, protect the students! Kaminari, try to use your quirk to contact the outside!"
"Yes, sensei!" the blond gasped as he began fiddling with the headset he was wearing, tongue sticking out of his mouth in concentration.
"Eraserhead!" Izuku gasped as the man prepared to jump down into the growing crowd of Villains, "You can't be intending to fight them all, can you? Your fighting style relies on stealth and-."
"Here's a lesson for you, Midoriya," the scruffy Pro replied, "No true Hero is a one trick pony."
He leapt off the top of the stairs, sailing down towards the large group, a number of Villains running forwards, readying their quirks to attack. It took a moment, but they all blinked in confusion as their quirks failed. The man landed in between them, his capture weapon snaking around the three Villains like it had a life of its own, before they were all slammed into each other over his head. He wasted no time leaping into the crowd of approaching Villains, taking them down with ease.
Izuku and the rest of the class stared in wonder, until Thirteen shouted at them to get moving, Izuku hearing that same buzzing in his ears as they all turned back towards the door. The students gasped as the black smoke appeared in front of them, growing in size until a vaguely man shaped form emerged from it.
"Greetings, future Heroes," the sinister voice said calmly as a pair of glowing yellow eyes appeared in the mists, "We are the League of Villains, and we have come to kill All Might, where might he be?"
"FUCKING DIE!" the shout echoed through the air as Bakugo launched himself towards the Villain, Kirishima just behind him as they charged.
The Villain dodged back as the explosion glinted off something in the dark mists, floating back into the air as he let out an annoyed noise.
"Bet you weren't expecting that!" Kirishima said excitedly as he hardened his arms in preparation to attack again, Bakugo letting explosions spark across his palms.
"That was a little close," he said as the two boys scowled and grinned at him, "I can't allow you to interfere."
The dark mist suddenly enveloped them, the rest of the class screaming as the two vanished in an instant, Thirteen crying out as they lifted their hand, pointing a finger at the Villain, "I won't let you harm them!"
"Too late," the mist chuckled, "Now, the rest of you, scatter!"
"What did you do?"
The words cut through the chaotic noise, every student freezing as they felt a chill run up their spines, heads turning to look at the source of the voice. The single figure stood perfectly still, dark green eyes locked onto the mist, an unseen rage boiling behind the eerily calm exterior. He stepped forwards as he continued to speak.
"Where is he? Where's Kacchan?" Izuku said flatly, his voice low and calm as he walked towards the dark figure, the man just as frozen as the teens, "Answer me."
"I-I used my quirk to warp him into the ruined zone," the man answered shakily, his eyes flickering as they grew fuzzy around the edges for a moment, before he seemed to come back to himself, "What? Why am I telling you this? Time for you to-!"
"Stop," the word seemed to hit the mist physically, the dark fog almost falling to the floor as he made a choked sound.
Around them, Thirteen quickly gathered the stunned students, leading them towards the doors, several of the students prying them open.
"I-I c-can't believe this," he wheezed, dropping to his knees, "A child…how?"
"Bring him back," Izuku snarled, his blank face twitching ever so slightly as he spoke, as if he was trying to hold something back, "Now."
"N-no!" the man growled back, cowering as the teen loomed over him.
"I said bring him back," Izuku's voice vibrated through the air, making the dark fog dance, almost forming into a portal, "Now!"
"I…I…" the man muttered a few times, before letting out a roar, the dark mist exploding out of him, washing over Izuku as he stepped back in surprise, "I REFUSE!"
"Izuku!" "Midoriya!" the two shouts startled him as he felt a hand grab his wrist, something long and slimy wrapping around his waist before his stomach lurched and he began to fall.
The cloaked man looked up from the contract in front of him, his hood almost falling off with the force of the movement.
He was sitting in Nedzu's office, filling in the last of the paperwork that would see him become a teacher at UA. They had spent the last hour or so after the Staff Meeting finalising the agreement and have Nedzu explain what he wanted him to do. He was almost done with the contract, happy with most of it, when the spike of emotion had hit him.
"Is something wrong?" Nedzu asked, looking up from his computer screen.
"I just felt a rush of emotion from the young one…I apologise, from Midoriya," Sire said, looking around slightly, "It felt like…Fear?"
"I am sure it was just something they were doing on their field trip," Nedzu waved his paw nonchalantly as he smiled, "I'm sure it's fine."
"No," Sire said, immediately standing, "It most certainly isn't. There was just a spike of anger."
"Oh?" the chimera asked, watching as the man moved quickly toward the door, "I'm sorry, but even if there is a problem, as it is on UA grounds, I can't allow an outsider like you to interfere."
"Of course," Sire paused with his hand just above the handle, growling slightly before he turned dramatically back to the desk, his cloak flaring up around him, "I'm not a teacher yet, am I?"
"No," Nedzu shook his head as he held out the pen, not even blinking when it vanished from his hand, the man dragging it across the final pages of the contract elegantly, before he was handed a small handbook and a phone, "Now that you are, I would ask that you go check on the students of class 1A at the USJ. There has been a report of trouble."
"Right away, sir," Sire nodded as he stepped towards the door, throwing it open before vanishing.
