HEY! I missed you all. Been so busy. Here is another chapter.
All mistakes are my own.
…..
Christian watched as Taylor drove furiously through the forest. He knew they were getting closer. He just couldn't explain it, but he knew. Ray was sitting in the front seat with Taylor and he kept mumbling something under his breath. He even had this bright aura surrounding him. Christian guessed it would come in handy when they got to Ana.
Ana.
He just needed her back in his arms. He needed to marry her, and once he got her, she was never leaving his sight. He couldn't be without her, and he would show her every day for the rest of their lives.
Taylor turned suddenly off the road and into the lush forest. He killed the engine and the men all stepped out. Christian closed his eyes and focused on all the scents, his eyes snapping open at Ana's. It was faint, but it was there. Ray must've sensed it as well because the older man tilted his head to the right. Taylor followed the two, scouting the ground for any activity. They didn't have to wait long. Two men came bursting through the opening, and when they saw Christian, their eyes widened, and the two men fell to their knees. Christian was in front of them instantly.
"Where is Ana?" Christian said, his fangs coming out and his eyes turning black. Both men pointed behind them until the shorter one spoke.
"She is about three miles from here. Jack is holding her."
The other one spoke as well.
"We've been lost, man! We thought we could find our way out and be long gone. We were supposed to be a day ago, but we stumbled onto this cave. Your fiancé said that she wouldn't hurt us, and she made sure to promise that."
Christian sat on his haunches, saying nothing. His gaze went from one man, to the other, as his claws lengthened. Ray's eyes widened a bit at the sight, but Taylor wasn't concerned. Because Christian was an alpha, a true alpha, his knive-like appendages were tipped in silver. It looked almost metallic and unreal. Christian's voice changed as he moved a bit closer.
"You see men, we are at a stalemate. Because my woman promised this. But I did not," he breathed deeply. Inhaling the scent of fear on their skin.
"But-"
Before the taller man could say anything else, Christian sliced his neck open, causing the other man to shout in alarm, and shock. While keeping his eyes on the now dead man, Christian spoke to the other as if he wasn't eviscerating the first guy.
"This could've all been avoided," he said as he stuck his hand inside of the man and pulled out his stomach. "Had you all left my Ana alone, we wouldn't be here. But we are, and now your life must end," he finished before pulling out the man's beating heart and kidneys. For good measure he pulled out his liver as well and tossed it to the side. The shorter one fell to his face on the ground.
"Please, sir. I will take you to her if you just let me live!" Christian mulled it over and decided he could live. He would not have two men alive who tried to hurt his Ana. But one could live to tell the tale and stay away.
"Very well. Take me to her."
….
Ana felt a change in the air. Jack was pacing in front of her, and he looked even crazier than before. She didn't say anything, because she knew Christian was on his way. She smiled to herself.
Oh, you have no idea Jack what you've just unleashed.
She kept her face a blank expression when his head suddenly snapped back to her.
"Where is he?" Jack roared.
Ana shrugged.
"Probably trying to find me. Since you dragged me to the middle of nowhere!" Ana shouted, "He probably has to do more digging than usual. Your stupid ass probably forgot how you brought us here," she snarked. He glared at her, and she glared right back.
"You insolent woman!"
"Douche bag!" she screamed. Jack's eyes turned a deep red at the insult.
If Ana wasn't kidnapped, she would've thought it funny. She tangled with the alpha at his worst. She was not afraid of a little puppy named Jack. Granted, he was a bit psychotic, but he didn't scare her. Placing his hands on his hips he slowed his breathing before speaking.
"Tell me. How am I wrong? I was trying to restore my rightful place."
"You killed Leila," she deadpanned.
"I had too!"
Ana rolled her eyes. "Listen, from what I've heard about the woman, I'm not fan, but let's say you did have to kill her. Why would you kill your only son? The small life did nothing to deserve that! And that was also Teddy's half-brother. If you were trying to show that you meant no harm, why not bring the family to Carrick to talk?"
Jack looked a bit shocked at Ana's words before shaking his head.
"It's not that simple."
"Isn't it?" Ana asked. She watched as Jack ran his hands through his hair.
"If I would've come to Carrick, they would've instantly labeled me as someone trying to take away from Christian's birthright."
"We will never know. Because you killed people that didn't need to be. And you assumed."
"Carrick-"
"Has another son. Not Elliott. He is a Native American man. Apparently while in school Carrick fell in love with another woman. But she moved away and left. He had no clue that he fathered a son. The man showed up not two days ago announcing who he was. He is not trying to claim Alpha, but he wants to know his family," she stated with a brow raised. Jack looked at Ana with disbelief in his gaze.
"You lie."
"I don't. You can ask Christian yourself. Because he is going to find me. And as misplaced as your anger is, your intentions are clear now. You wanted to claim your spot as leader. Your father, Carrick was a man of standing and power, and you felt that you were owed that," she finished quietly. Jack studied her for a while longer before giving a slight nod.
"My mother bounced us from place to place. When I was older, I asked her who my father was. She said that he was an evil man who lied to her and that was the reason we had to keep moving. I hated Carrick every day of my life, and once I claimed my rightful place, I knew I could kill him."
Ana crossed her arms over her chest.
"I'm sorry that your mother lied to you, but as an adult you have to take responsibility for your actions. You should've done research, figure out if she were telling the truth and went from there. But you became a homicidal maniac for no reason."
Jack roared before rushing Ana, only to come up against the wall once more. He smirked when he noticed her sweating a bit.
"Your little defenses are weakening. And when it does, I will sample what obviously has my brother so drugged before I kill you."
Ana's eyes filled with hate.
"Do it, and I'll have you singing falsetto for the rest of your life."
…
"Here. Less than twenty steps away and you'll see an opening. There will be a cabin. She's inside," he said quietly. Christian turned to Taylor, who instantly nodded. He knew to secure the parameter of the place and call for backup. Now that they knew the exact location, help would arrive in less than five minutes. Ray spoke up.
"Now that I'm close, I will mentally talk to Ana. Give her time to brace herself before we enter. I can feel that her shield is getting weaker, and with her pregnant, she's used twice as much energy to protect her and the baby."
Christian nodded, anxious for his fiancé. The man turned to the short accomplice.
"What's your name?" he asked.
"Gale."
Christian nodded.
"Leave, Gale. And never return to New York or the surrounding areas again. This is your only warning, and last chance."
The man's eyes widened before he took off not needing to be told twice.
…
Ana. We are coming in soon.
Ana breathed in relief. She couldn't respond because if she did, that would use up the last of her energy reserves to keep her protected. But she knew her father's voice. So, she said it aloud quietly.
"Okay," she breathed. Jack's head snapped in her direction.
"What did you say?" He asked. Ana rolled her eyes.
"I was trying to formulate how to ask you another question. Okay. How are you going to get out of this mess? Christian's not going to let you go and if you do escape, you'll be on the run for God knows how long. What will you do then?"
"Oh, Anastasia," he said slowly. "I will defeat your beloved Christian in a match. He will be weak because of your untimely demise, and I will win."
"And even if I were weak," a familiar voice said causing Ana to gasp in relief, "Which I would be from Ana's supposed death, it would only make me want to kill you more. You would die, but instead of a quick and painful death, it would result in a slow and torturous one."
Jack was completely stunned. Before he could open his mouth, Christian held him by the throat and had him pinned to the wall. His claws came out and with his left hand he sank them into Jack's middle, causing blood to spurt out of his mouth immediately. Christian grinned evilly his eyes an unholy red as he whispered into Jack's ear.
"You tried to hurt and kill my fiancé. You tried to leave my child fatherless. Because of that, I will kill you right now where you stand."
Jack clawed at Christian's grip on his throat, opening his mouth to speak. Every time he'd try to however, blood would come running out of his mouth. Christian snarled, even as he twisted his left hand further inside of Jack's body.
"I can feel your liver. But I need to reach higher. Because I want your heart. And I won't rest comfortably until I have it in my hand."
Jack looked to be in excruciating pain, but Christian was completely unbothered.
"I hate you," Jack gasped out.
"The feeling is mutual." And with that, Christian wrapped his hands around Jack's rapidly beating heart and yanked it from his chest. Jack's eyes were suddenly blank, and when Christian withdrew his hand, the man fell to his knees before collapsing onto the wooden floor. Christian spoke to Taylor who he could sense behind him.
"Start a fire and burn his body. When it is ashes, toss his heart into the fire. I want to make sure nothing of his ever comes back to life," he said as he handed over Jack's heart. Taylor grunted before he pulled out a box of matches and went outside. Christian turned his attention to Ana who was silently crying holding on to her father. Christian slowly walked to them both, wiping his bloodied hands on his jeans. He thought she would be disgusted with him, but instead, when Christian called Ana's name she stood and jumped into his arms. Christian wrapped his arms around her tightly, and he felt his owns eyes well with tears when she kissed his cheek.
"I love you, Ana."
"I love you, Christian."
Ana never knew that taking a job as a nanny would be this intense, but she also knew that not having Christian, or Teddy in her life would be empty. For better or worse she was here to stay.
…..
Hey everyone! I may come back for an epilogue so that we can see what antics Teddy gets himself into, but for now, just think of this story as complete. I love you all, thank you so much for reading, and if I have time, I will do more.
