Amber sighed as she made her way to her room and laid on her bed. She didn't like the feeling of being at odds with her husband but she also didn't want to be stuck in another save the world plot. It was now apparent to her that the time apart made her a slightly different person and she wasn't blindly agreeing with her husband's actions. If she had to be honest, even back in 2019 this was a problem that was starting to show with Five taking change. Amber could have understood when they were young and in the apocalypse, but Amber knew she was strong and smart enough to do things on her own. She did need time and she wasn't sure where Five's head was at with plans. Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her door. Amber rose up to see it was Joanna and cracked a slight smile.

"Trouble on your date?" Joanna asked.

"You could say that."

Amber explained how Five and her had an argument on either staying here or leaving since she couldn't tell the truth of the world ending. Joanna listened and saw that Amber was really torn up about this.

"I know you are trying to be your own person and that may be what Five can't accept. In your long marriage, you became another him so maybe the fights weren't as common. You're going to have to accept that in your strides to be Amber Hargreaves, you're going to butt heads with your husband. Do not settle for anything Amber and really make sure you are heard." Joanna told her.

Amber nodded.

"That is something I've wanted even when I was young, to be heard. I'm not even sure Maude truly heard me since she had her own ideas."

Joanna raised an eyebrow and commented,

"Maude?"

Amber knew she shared a bit too much but she couldn't have taken it back. She sighed and nodded, telling a modified truth without revealing too much.

"Maude was this old woman my mother and father didn't want to leave me with, but had to for their line of work. She practically raised me but whenever I expressed leaving the abuse from my parents, she wouldn't want to. Maude always said things happened for a reason and it was too early for me to strike out on my own. One day I had enough and just left anyway and it was also the night she was killed. I learned later in my life she was just as bad as my parents and wanted me to be loyal to her. I'm not even sure she loved me or just loved the attention I gave her since I just wanted to be loved."

Joanna was taken slightly aback by this tale. It was no wonder Amber was so smitten with Five, it was because Amber never had a healthy home life or people who showed her genuine love. The true first time was with her husband and them being at odds hurting Amber a lot more made more sense. Joanna pulled Amber into a hug and stroked her back.

"You are loved by your husband and others. The main thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to love yourself too and treat yourself kindly. If you don't, you are robbing yourself. So, when you feel Five is truly wrong on something, you should stand your ground and know your ideas are good. If your marriage is truly strong, these fights won't be the end."

Amber smiled slightly and pulled away from Joanna's hug.

"Oh, I know it won't be. Five loves me too much and I love him too much; however, we are both stubborn so it might be a little harder going forward if I think his plans are stupid."

"Harder but not impossible. I mean I remember a time Spence and I had a huge argument early in our marriage about myself wanting to start a business. I told him there was no way I was going to sit at home all day waiting for him to come home at what ungodly hour like a puppy. Either I have something to do that makes me happy or it's not going to work out. Seeing how I have the bookstore you can see how he saw things my way and understood why I needed my independence."

"And to be fair, more money is also good and he can't fight over you spending money on brandy if it's yours now, can he?" Amber joked.

Both women chuckled and Joanna stroked Amber's cheek like a mother would for a child. This made Amber flinch a bit since the way she did it reminded her of Maude. Joanna smiled in comfort and wished Amber pleasant dreams before leaving the room. Amber got herself ready for bed, hoping the next day would be better for her and Five.

At around 3 in the morning, Amber could hear light pebbles being tossed at her window. She rolled her eyes and wondered if Five was back and taking this approach versus just blipping in. Amber got up to her feet and opened the window to comment,

"Impatient to see me again?"

"Well don't you two think so highly of yourselves don't you?"

Amber looked down to see it was Diego and she couldn't help but smile even though it was very early in the morning. She lit a candle in her room so she could get back in the house without opening the door and returned to the window.

"Stand back a bit Diego." Amber told him.

Diego listened as Amber shot a fireball near him. She kept the flame going and engulfed herself in fire to go from her room to the ground beside him. Amber put out the flame and she gave Diego a strong hug.

"What the hell are you doing here, it's 3 in the morning."

Diego chuckled a bit and squeezed her tighter.

"Thought I would give my sister a hello and not have her worry about me. Besides, you're the one that gave me this address Amber." he teased.

Amber liked the fact Diego was calling her a sister but she also was annoyed at being awake this early and for causing a bit of problems. She pulled away and crossed her arms, causing Diego to frown slightly.

"Yeah, well wished I haven't now. By the way, thanks for letting Five know I lied to him by the way. I really did not need him getting pissed at me since not he's mad that I didn't tell him about Allison and Luther." Amber sourly told him.

"Hey you know that was always going to piss him off Amber and you shouldn't have lied to him. Wished I hadn't told him that since he got me confined in solitary before my escape. Thought you and Five were always honest with each other."

Amber sighed and nodded. She was and she knew that was a mistake on her part about lying to him.

"I am but I can't be honest about not wanting to stop the end since we all caused it and he feels we need to fix it. Meanwhile I was enjoying a decent and peaceful life and I don't want to give that up. Am I selfish Diego for wanting that after all the hell and misery I've been through?"

"Misery as in your circus days and just living in an apocalyptic shit hole; not living and marrying Five, right?" Diego asked.

Amber sighed and nodded. Of course, Five wasn't misery, he was the best thing in her life.

"I just want time to think but Five is all 'we need to stop the end now Amber' meanwhile if he had just listened to me back in 2019, we would not be through this shit now. He needs to listen to me."

"Yeah, kind of have to agree with you on that, but you married him. Still, maybe he just wants to prevent all of us from dying. I mean, he was pretty torn about seeing you die Amber."

"Still, that doesn't mean he gets to call all the shots and make my decisions for me Diego. Plus doing what he did to you was cruel." Amber reasoned.

Diego nodded.

"Look I just came by to tell you if you hear a police report on the radio about people escaping the psych ward...well I'm out of there. I know you're not going to agree with me stopping Lee Harvey Oswald but I do trust you enough to tell you I'm heading to his place tomorrow to stop him. Are you going to stop me?"

Amber sighed. This would be a major fuck up to time line but she has heard Diego's plans. All he would do is cut off a trigger finger so he can't shoot a gun. Amber had many thoughts on why that plan was a bit silly and foolish, but it wasn't murder. Time was already fucked as far as she was concerned and she couldn't see Five sitting around and letting Diego go through with it. She supported him but knew this plan was a lost cause.

"You do what you want since I am not getting involved, just please don't end up back in the psych ward or arrested please." Amber begged.

Diego grinned but nodded as he gave Amber another hug.

"Thanks Amber, it means a lot you have my back."

"Someone has to Diego and I'm most people's burning light." she joked.

She could hear a car horn and Diego cursed under his breath.

"Shit, Lila is so impatient. At this rate she will wake up the couple living here." Diego commented.

Amber had heard Diego mention a woman named Lila and she couldn't help but smile softly. Sure, they met in a psych ward, but based on how Diego talked about her, she seemed okay. A bit nuts, maybe unhinged, and maybe odd quirks but she was sticking with him so that had to mean something.

"This Lila gal seems to be taken with you Diego. You think this will be a serious thing?" Amber asked.

Diego scoffed.

"She's insane and I pretty much had to rely on her to get out. Crazy Swedish men broke into the psych ward and we needed to fend them off. I mean they had guns and they were after me. She knows how to fight and I know she's a bit crazy but she's kind of hot too."

This made Amber a bit nervous since there were elite squads at Commission and from her brief time, the Swedes were one of the very best. Them being here and Five now in the 60s had to be connected.

"Right...look wherever you go, please be safe and I'll probably see you tomorrow."

Diego raised an eyebrow.

"You're going to ditch work to see me?" he said with a light grin.

Amber rolled her eyes.

"No, because if I know my husband, he's going to pull some shit to get you to Elliot's to view some footage before getting me. It's just how my husband is."

"Right well if that does happen, I will see you tomorrow then."

Diego ran to the front of the house and Amber used her powers to warp back into the house, emerging from the burning candle. Before putting out the flame, she could hear Klaus calling out to her and she sighed. Klaus was the only smart one to figure out that he could contact her via flame and hence why Amber bought lighters for everyone. She wouldn't be able to avoid the family for much longer and she was starting to miss him. However, her day will be busy tomorrow so Klaus will have to wait a bit longer.

Amber's work day was pretty routine and when Amber got off at five, her husband was waiting for her outside. She smiled softly at him and he couldn't help but smile. He knew Amber was going through something but at the end of the day, she was his loving wife.

"You don't waste time, do you?" Amber remarked.

He chuckled at that and pecked her lips.

"I had to stop Diego from doing something stupid and he had some crazy lady with him. He did apologize to me about our little fight so he did see you last night didn't he."

"Try early this morning but yes. I knew you were going to stop him." she sighed.

Five sighed and responded with,

"Of course, I needed to stop him. Diego can't change time by doing whatever he planned with Oswald. Now the footage is a bit disturbing but I need you to see it yourself. Are you coming with me?"

Amber nodded and he blipped them to Elliot's. The first thing she noticed was Elliot tied up and had a cloth around his mouth. Amber was a bit annoyed as he was helping Five out so much yet he was tied up.

"Why the hell is Elliot tied up Five?" Amber asked.

"He was trying to shoot at us Amber for what Hazel gave me." Five answered.

Amber then noticed a young woman with short black hair and dark eyes painting Elliot's nails. She cracked a slight smile since this had to be Lila.

"I'm guessing you're the woman Diego is smitten with, Lila, right?" Amber asked.

The woman looked at Amber and she chuckled.

"Wow Diego wasn't kidding about Lila, this little pip-squeak having a girlfriend. But yes, I am Lila and I do find Diego cute; even though he's like a book made for dumb children."

Amber forced a slight smile and commented,

"I'm his wife thank you and please don't insult my brother-in-law. He's a nice guy that does care about you despite male bravado. Now where is Diego?"

Diego walked in with a phone book and a soda and he placed the phone book on the table. Amber seemed confused and asked,

"What's with the phone book?"

Five sighed and he brought his wife to the projector. He played the footage and her eyes widened. It was from the day Kennedy was shot and no wonder Elliot panicked at them. Nothing seemed to out of nowhere until Five stopped at someone in black carrying an umbrella. Amber couldn't make out the man but she didn't have to as Five commented,

"My father is in Dallas. He will give us a lead on what's going on and how to get home."

Amber was taken aback by this since the irony was lost on Five. Did he not realize on how stupid this idea was or the consequences? Apparently not since he and Diego were looking at the phone to find an address. Amber was fuming internally and Five grinned when he found the address for his father's umbrella factory.

"Great, we can get some answers." Five said.

"Are you both insane? No way you both are going to meet him." Amber argued.

Five's eyes widened and he shook his head.

"Amber; we need a way out. My father knows about time travel and how to get us back home. We need to see him in order to go home. If we leave, the end won't happen. Now come with us please."

Amber couldn't believe she was hearing this. Five should know about paradoxes and meeting their father could spell disaster for their timeline.

"I'm not going with you Five. This is a very stupid and dangerous idea."

Five gritted his teeth.

"Amber my love, we have no options here. Stop being stupid and come with us, we need you!"

"What's stupid is going after your father! If you see him, you will change shit big time! He's going to think you're crazy and I don't think your father is a man to take shit lightly! We can think of other ways to get back home!" Amber expressed.

"I don't see you coming up with anything Amber! So please, what else can we do!"

Amber had a slight idea, but it was even more dangerous. She did recall that there will be another Five coming in a few days with a time travel briefcase, but that opens up temporal psychosis. When Five didn't hear his wife say anything, he scoffed.

"Thought so. I'm going to see what I can find at this factory and maybe speak to him. I could use you..."

"No. This is a bad idea. Please listen to me and don't do this Five." Amber said coldly.

Five was stunned and he gritted his teeth. His wife was aggravating him since they needed a way out of this time. He had a way and he was fighting her on this.

"Amber, stop being stubborn and come with me!"

"And I am telling you for a man who is so smart and knows time very well, you are being a moron! I refuse to go with you on this! Leave and see him fine, but don't say I didn't warn you of your idiocy!" Amber exclaimed.

"Amber, don't make me bring you along. Don't test me!" Five yelled.

Amber scoffed and commented,

"Funny, I was going to say the same thing. You won't do such a thing Five."

Five took a deep breath but he felt his powers surging in a fit of rage.

"What the fuck happened with you Amber!? You never were this difficult! I have a way for us both to be happy and live peacefully! Why are we fighting on this!"

"Because seeing Reginald Hargreaves in this before 1989 is dangerous! You must see the risks involved Five and don't lie to me and say there isn't! You taught me well enough to know about time paradoxes and shifts in timelines!"

Lila and Elliot were just looking at them with confused expressions while Diego knew he needed to step in soon.

"I know okay I know! But we don't have any options Amber! The risks don't outweigh the rewards!"

"You're full of shit Five! The risks are important and are dangerous but because it's your idea we have to go with it! Bullshit, it's a stupid idea and I'm not going to follow you around like a puppy! I'm not going after your ass if things go south!"

Diego saw Five and Amber's anger rising and he knew he needed to step in. He grabbed Five's arm and told him,

"Let's just get going. The more time we waste, the less we are going to find."

Five and Amber stared down one another and, in the end, Five just sighed.

"So much for things being okay."

"Yeah same." Amber replied.

Five left with Diego and Amber couldn't help but feel very bad about this whole thing. She made herself some toast in the kitchen and thought about Five. Reginald Hargreaves from her husband's stories didn't seem like a man to be trifled with and they were going into his headquarters of sorts. They were in the 60s and Reggie might be in his prime; causing Amber to feel sick as she ate her toast. They weren't his children in his timeline and who knows what this will mean for 2019 she thought. Lila found Amber and cracked a tiny smile. She saw Amber as a lovesick wife who loved her husband and wanted to make up already. Lila found it cute if not sickly and the fact Amber was trying to be all tough and not worried about Five was funny to her.

"You're so full of shit you know that." she commented.

Amber raised an eyebrow and asked,

"What are you talking about?"

Lila smirked as she stole a piece of toast from Amber and munched on it. A soft little moan escaped her and she chuckled.

"Wow how on earth did you make this toast Amber? It's perfect. Then again, anything is better than the slop at the nut house."

Amber chuckled since the food probably was shit.

"Trade secret and how am I full of shit?" Amber asked.

Lila chuckled as she ate the toast.

"You want to go after Five and protect him. I can tell you love him very much to a point of it being sickly cute. You're stubborn but you want to be sure he's safe. I've seen couples like you and it's killing you to sit here." Lila told her.

Amber sighed and finished her toast. No, she thought, I am not going, no way in hell.

"Five won't listen to me and if I go, I am just proving to myself I am a lovesick wife who can't live without her husband. He wants to risk and ruin his life; he can go right ahead."

Lila saw Amber's sad look and she shook her head.

"Or you would be a badass wife who was right about this little venture being stupid and dangerous. I know you want to be right like your husband so why don't we see if we can help those boys out of the mess they are in."

Amber looked at Lila and couldn't help but feel something was both off and familiar about her. She cracked a smile and asked,

"Why would you want to help me? Five probably is a pain in your ass."

Lila shrugged.

"I'm bored and I don't want to sit here. You don't want to sit around either so let's get going."

Amber scoffed and looked at Lila.

"Diego tells me you can fight so you won't be so much dead weight. Good let's see if we can get Diego and Five out of the mess they are in. My gut's rarely wrong and this time is no expectation."

"Great, let's get going." Lila said with a wily smile.

Amber sighed and rubbed the back of her neck as she went with Lila to get Five and Diego. The things she does for love and for her stubborn yet cute husband. Amber knows she couldn't keep doing this, but she loved Five more than the air she breathes. However, she just hoped he wouldn't be making grave mistakes for their sake and the sake of 2019.
