The Return Of The Marauders Part I: Harry Potter And The Sorceror's Stone
Warnings: From here on and forward, Harry's title for Sirius changes, as he becomes his father, as the years they spent together now change things now. As he and Harry start acting like father and son, as year 5 changes things further as he's now acting like a real father here. To him as he and Harry developed a bond that would take his place with James as the years go by now.

Chapter 8: Potions, Defense And Mail Call
"This year, with you just starting out, I'm doing the starter with this, so with that, your lesson are comprised through out the year, and you will be learning. Now the following: The transfiguration alphabet, Transfiguration formula, Match to needle, Switching Spells, Mice to Snuffboxes, Avifors Spell, and Flintifors. So I want you to pay close attention now, in class, without argument." she said and the Slytherins nodded as I put my quill down then gently as I said it to her.
"Is it possible to learn to be an animagus this young, Professor?" I asked and she smiled. "I do that class in third year Mr. Potter, but if you have notions to be a cub version of your father, you must have patience, it takes time." she said and I nodded. "What was his father?" Susan asked and I smiled. "Dad was a stag, so with him being a deer, I chose his nickname for me, when I was toddler as my new alias." I said and she smiled as at that news as Mione also smiled.
"For those of you growing up in the Wizard kingdom, well the said name was really a Disney reference, which explains what we were discussing last night. The name of the title character, his name is Bambi, he was the son of the leader of the herd now." she said and the class nodded gently at that news. "So he chose that nickname to call him by, his father is a stag, and he named him by a cub name for his animagus form?" Seamus asked and we nodded to him gently.
"Which explains the name Prongs, and there is only one animal that has prongs, or to put that another way here now, is antlers." Ron said and they all smiled. "A Stag." they all said together. "And that's not if we met sooner then this, and there is only one person and character that a deer is seen in the company of." I said and they all started laughing. "That would be Santa Clause, and a new nickname: Prancer." Dean said through his laughter and I nodded to him then.
"So we got the reason for the names of Prongs and Wormtail, that's a rat and a stag, so Mooney that's a wolf, after you said that at the start of the summer. And that leaves Padfoot, and he's in appearance in animal form of a German Shepherd dog, so we got them all, and you're the son of the leader now. Of their quartet, okay we get it, that explains the map, the twins had to pass it back to you, as your father created it." Lavender said and I nodded to her gently then.
"Alright students, we can discuss this more later, shall we?" Minerva asked and we nodded as we got to work, and started on the first subject that morning. Which happened to be the transfiguration alphabet now, which was in Latin wording and we had to put the terminology into what was said here now. Working on it, I felt a sense of calm shoot through me as we did this, with Ron, Mione and I having our memories of this, it was a lot easier as thing continued then.
As the bell went off then and we left the room, just as Severus dropped by. "I got a staff meeting this morning, and then I'll be there, so you do what you were doing before when I got in there, but unlike Zacharias, you know what you're doing right now. So remember said testing questions I gave you that's the opening, and you know the most as you, Ronald, Mione, Neville and Draco were in my potions summer class this year." he said and we all nodded to him.
"Alright like you know you got me next and then you have defense, so after class is over, assemble in here for dueling class, but remember we're trying to put on the fake light for him, so don't take my remarks seriously, I'm your parents best friend you two, cubs." Severus said and we all nodded as we then headed for his class room then gently at that we were waiting for the opening sentence as he slammed the door open and said it sternly and I knew he was ticked.
"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class as such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art. That is potion-making, however, for those select few..." he said as he looked from me to Draco as I hid a smile. "Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." he said gently then at that.
Before he notices Zach scribbling on his paper. "Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not pay attention!" he said and Pansy nudged him in the side and he quickly looked up and put the quill down at that. "Mister Potter, our new celebrity." he said and I relaxed and sat at attention then as he went to asking me the first test question of the year then gently at that remark.
"Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" he asked me and I said it as Zach shot up his hand at that. "That would be, once you mix these two ingredients, they, the Asphodel and Wormwood, make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of the Living Death." I said and he nodded, as he went to the next question. "Very good okay, so next question, where would you."
"Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?" he asked and I nodded. "That would a stone in the belly of a goat and it can save you from most poisons, most, but not all, as you need a skilled potions master for an antidote." I said and he nodded, as I saw a gentle smile in his eyes. "And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" he asked me and I said it gently at that remark as he shot his arm up a third time at that.
"There is no difference, they are the same plant, which also goes by then name of Aconite, which is known to repel werewolves, then again, in truth here. It's not surprising when we got a savage wolf attacking children." I said and he nodded. "Indeed and very good, 10 points to Gryffindor." he said and we hid a smile of relief, that I answered his questions correctly. "But pity right now, as some people clearly never pay attention." he said sternly and that did it then.
"Clearly, but why not ask us of your own house." he said and he said it sternly. "Put your hand down." he snapped and he swallowed hard at his remark. 'Yeah now he's done it, the little show off is going to hurt someone if he doesn't pay attention in our first potion today.' I thought at that remark then as he said it. 'Here it comes, he's furious enough already, he must have had a fast shouting match with the board over letting this little upstart in morning classes now.'
'If he's ready to lay into him like he did me, and I'm not stupid enough to start talking back to him like this, not after he and I had a fast talk over this now. As a result of his and my mother's exchange over the map this morning.' I thought and knew he was hiding a nod of agreement as he grabbed a chair. And sat down in front of us in the front row as he was looking into his eyes, and I knew he was checking for the level of arrogance in his thoughts at that.
"Do you really want to test me, because your peers are wise enough to not test my temper." he said and Zach swallowed hard at that. "Now I may have had a problem at one point with his father and his quartet, but that changed, after the truth came out, before your term started right now. But that's not the point for the repeated snarking you been doing since you crossed my path right now." he said sternly as he looked into his eyes then sternly at that remark.
"That show off, as you consider him, is the son of my best friend, he, Hermione Granger, and Draco, are my top students, they, Ronald Weasley and Neville Longbottom share a connection with me that you do not understand and as for the subject in why I was quizzing him right now on that. And for your information, Mister Smith, Asphodel and Wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of the Living Death."
"A Bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons, most if not all, but for the dangerous side effects now. If not paying attention you need a skilled potions master for this part, as he said here, and as for Monkshood and Wolfbane, they are the same plant now. Which also goes by the name of Aconite, well, why aren't you all copying this down?" he said and we all grabbed our quills and started writing down what he said then.
As he went back to his desk then, as I heard it mumbled. "Zacharias Smith, ten points for cheek." he said and Zach flinched at that, knowing he blew his first impression with Severus at that remark then, before I looked up in time to see it. "Whoa wait, wait, don't, get it off the fire, or you're going to have it all over the floor, after putting those quills in." I said and Neville nodded. "Thank you for that right now." he said and Severus smiled in relief I headed it off then.
"And another ten points for a fast warning in prevention tactics." he said and we nodded. "Seamus, are you trying to burn the place down here." Mione said to him and just as he was answering we hear explosion from the table in the back and I turned around. "That wasn't me this time Professor, someone dumped hot water in that cauldron after finishing." Neville said and he nodded. "And what's the lesson on that?" he asked and I hid a laugh as I answered him.
"Never put hot water on what's left of the contents in these cauldrons or it's going to explode, so use ice water." I said and he nodded. "And take another 5 points." he said and we nodded, just as the bell sounded and we cleaned up our tables then, as we put the potion phials on his desk then and then headed for class defense class then as I saw Remus standing there, before Severus walked in then and said it gently as he looked between our class gently then.
"Alright 20 on both sides of the table, and pay attention here." he said and we assembled in Gryffindor and Hufflepuff on one side of said table and Slytherin and Ravenclaw on the other as he said it. "As you know we have decided to train you in defensive training, but this means that a clear thing for your class, and we need you. Now, to understand this students, as you're in school right now, as when in school you make a mistake and you try it again tomorrow now."
"But out there it gets highly dangerous, you're in a position of seeing a friend get shot down in front of you, or you're in life and death situation yourselves. As you don't understand what that is like, not yet, as some of you are in training, you are raised as muggles right now, so you could consider what I just said. As the same response to the psychological testing that the man that played Captain Picard told his own student, before he dropped out of school now."
"After he made a dangerous mistake in the show, but every great wizard started out as nothing more then you are now, as students, so in order to be good. You must let go of those fears you're never going to be as good as your siblings." he said and Ron looked down at his remark as he went on. "Or you're trying to prove you're as good as the pure-blood Slytherins." he said and Mione looked down. "You have nothing to prove to us, let go." he said and they nodded.
"As to that, this is a test of training, now, so I would like a volunteer pair here.., Granger and Potter, could you come up please." he said and we nodded as we got on the table and faced forward as she looked into my eyes then. "Don't get cocky you two, and secondly you put too much power into the blast you're going to break something, so control your emotions." Remus told us and we nodded as she and I went into the traditional face off of dueling as we did it.
And in unison then, as we turned around and walked back 10 paces and then faced each other as we went into defense mode, as she shouted it out, and I dodged it and mentally said it and she got knocked back into Remus. "Alright very good, that's the first lesson, never say said spell aloud or they're going to know what you're doing, and take action, so ten points to Gryffindor." Remus called out and we nodded gently at that remark then and Zach looked at him.
"I thought you were the new history teacher." he said and I crossed my arms. "He's also a order member Zach, watch the insubordination." I said and he paled and the duo and Kingsley nodded. "To put it bluntly, to me, to Mione and to Neville, Luna, the order was the extended family in our eyes." I said and she finished that. "So you insult them, you insult us, this is why he laid into you last night, for the rudeness." she said and the trio and Ted crossed their arms.
"So I see fight break out, there will be points lost and a detention served, is that clear?" Kingsley said sternly and he nodded shaking at that. "I knew the arrogance was going to arrive, but that just proves it now, young man, I get you wanted to return to your biological house in the school. But at times there need to be changes, and you're showing the mania of Bartemis Crouch Junior." Ted said sternly at that and he swallowed hard at his remark then shaking.
"I take it that story was well know?" Sally asked and I nodded. "Unfortunately, but said death eater that dropped the news was, and is still under the impression that I am still a Death Eater, but my loyalty is to the headmaster, and my love for my best friend has changed me back." Severus said and they all nodded. "I'm lucky I never saw this from his point of view, and by that I mean the headmaster." I said to him and he nodded to me gently at that remark.
"And trust me this is scary enough already, you recall the mad mental healer, before he escaped, Anderson's tv show?" he asked and I shuddered and nodded. "That was him after Alastor shot him down, and Barty was shattered." Ted said and I nodded. "Were all of you at the trial, of whoever this was, before he got exposed?" Neville asked and the quartet nodded. "Yes, and you're too young to see our memories of the clean up yet." Severus said to him and we nodded.
"And you're cleaning up your mistakes and by being who you were in our parents eye, that's mum and Uncle Dan." I said and he nodded to me. "Yes okay, so follow up pair, hmm..., Neville, Ron, how about you boys." Remus said and they nodded. "You got your memories of this, so face off, gentle salute and then ten paces, and disarm only, we're not having this turn into a shootout." Severus said and as I closed my eyes as I tried to keep from laughing at his remark.
"How about your remark to Lockhart, after he said that to you." Ron said, looking at him over his shoulder and he smiled. "And I meant it, but maybe he better teach you kids to block unfriendly spells, before I do that for him, and after disarming all of them after the dueling got a little out of hand here." he said and I started laughing at the memory. "Alright young man, pull yourself together and pay attention here, cub." Remus said to me with an amused look on his face.
"Alright here we go." I said and they did as he said then gently at that remark, as Neville got the first shot in, before Ron took charge and after 10 minutes. In magical sparring his wand got blown out of his hand then. "Alright very good, next pair, Draco, Harry." Kingsley said and we nodded as went into it. "Before this gets out of hand here, for next year, Draco, we're doing a re-run of our sparring match, before my secret got exposed." I said and he nodded to me then.
"Including the bloody snake?" Severus said to me and I nodded. "Only way to prove it here that it's not me, but Riddle right now." I said and he nodded as Dumbledore, who just arrived then, said it gently at that. "Alright go ahead, we need this to prove you're the heir only by conquest here, you're hunting down his horcruxes, next year once Ginevra and her class arrive here now." he said and I nodded to as we went face to face then gently at that response then.
"What was it again, in that one?" Draco asked and I sighed as we heard a bemused female meow. "It was her, Colin, Justin and then Penny Clearwater, and with them was Nick." I said and they nodded. "Well this follows the same pattern you know it wasn't me, as one I was in class or just detention for whatever reason. I was in the infirmary after I got a broken arm in playing decoy in the game, I was talking to Hagrid when the duo were attacked and as for Mione."
"Her and Penny Clearwater, I was on the quidditch pitch when it happens, so how could I be in two places at once?" I asked and they all nodded. "And secondly why would you attack a friend for annoying you way too much, so no that's not possible, but year three we nearly made it possible. The time turners here, from stress over load, with the fact we possibly got Peter back on the loose." Mione said and I nodded as we and the headmaster exchanged looks.
"Issues this year, and you never know when the trouble starts, do we?" Kingsley asked and we both nodded. "And that's why we need you guys here, so in addition to those monstrosities we also got you acting as added security, and dad is also coming here to help out right now, once Uncle Remus takes over." I said and he nodded. "Good point, alright we best get on with it, duelers face off!" Dumbledore said and we nodded and went to a gentle face off then.
"Ready mate?" he asked and I smiled. "You bet." I said as we did the salute and then moved back 10 feet, as we faced each other then gently at that. "One." he said and went to a ready stance. "Two." Remus said and he pulled before they reached three. "Everte Statum." he called out and I got launched across the table, before I stood up and then said it. "Rictumsepra!" I snapped out and he got thrown across the table and landed in front of Severus who helped him up.
And then the final blow back as he shouted it out. "Serpentsortia!" he called out and a cobra got launched out of his wand as he landed in front of Justin then and I said it carefully. "Easy mate, calm down, we're sorry to disturb you, back off, friend, back off." I said and I knew they were relieved I said that as the cobra looked up at me and then relaxed. "Vipera Evenesca." Severus said and blasted said snake in half and we all relaxed at that and they nodded gently.
"That proof enough Justin, you know that the next time this happens you know I'm not the Heir, by blood, but I am by conquest right now." I said and he nodded. "Yeah that's plenty mate, it's not you, it was never you, all this time it was never you, so whoever attacks me with the bloody snake, you now. Were with Hagrid or in training with the headmaster at the time it happens, so not you at all." he said to me and Ernie, Hannah and Susan nodded in agreement.
"Alright disarming cubs, keep it going." Remus called out and we nodded, before I ducked a sudden blast and then said it. "Expelliarmus!" I called out and Zach got thrown into the table. "Freeze!" Dumbledore shouted out and we all froze up at that. "Alright young man, care to explain that reaction?" Severus said sternly and he looked at him defiantly. "And if this is why you want to make him look bad, you're digging a very deep hole." Remus said sternly to him then.
"I don't see why you're all spending so much time on him right now, rather then putting us into the way it would have been, if he stay ignorant till school started." he snapped at him and they nodded. "It's because in order to prepare for an upcoming war, we start training early young man, for ten years he was sheltered. And now it's time to come home and be who he was meant to become now." Dumbledore said sternly and he swallowed hard at his remark then.
"Yes he's the Boy Who Lived, but he wants to be seen as who he was supposed to be, the way we would have known him, if Lilly and James were alive. And right now, live up to his parents reputations, be seen as more then the savior of our world, instead be seen as the star member of his family. Best at defense, the youngest seeker of the century and most of all take his father's place at my side, as my star pupil right now, young man." Dumbledore said to him at that.
"I'll handle this, Professor you take over, come with me, Smith." Severus said sternly and Zach nodded shaking as he followed him out the door then as I checked my shoulder. "Not that I blame him for that jealousy, but that's no excuse to attack someone with their backs turned." I said and Mione nodded. "Well we got two loaded with jealousy, him and Percy, Oliver said that he's giving him attitude." she said and Dumbledore nodded to us at that news then gently.
"Alright class is over for now, and we can pick it up on Wednesday students, you spend this time studying your knowledge on the defensive spells used so far." Remus said and we nodded to him as he sat down and I wrote down the ones we used so far in class then, and then put what kinds of defensive spells they were down, before the bell sounded and we packed up and headed for our third class then gently at that as we separated then for our third class then.
As after our free period now, we then headed for lunch after that, as we settled and were doing our homework in the classes done so far then gently here, as Seamus tried it again then. "Eye of rabbit, harp string hum, turn this water into rum." he said, swinging his wand at it, and then checked the goblet, before trying again. "Eye of rabbit, harp string hum..." he said again, and Draco looked at us at that response as he said it for himself, Millie and Daphne then.
"What's Seamus trying to do to that glass of water?" he asked us and he said it with a bemused smile then. "Turn it to rum. Actually managed a weak tea yesterday! Before..." he said and before we heard an explosion and I closed my eyes. "Before the water exploded in his face." Mione said to finish that and we and Neville, Draco and the girls all started laughing, as we heard a chirping. "Ahh, mail's here!" he said and we all looked up in delight at that remark.
As we all several had things arriving then as I saw a set of letter in a pile put into a tube and I knew he was sending me a message, as I saw I had 4. And from the Dursleys, one from Sirius, another from Ginny and a fifth from Charlie and Bill and I smiled as I opened up the first and knew my girlfriend's handwriting. And immediately then gently as I read the letter then and smiled happily then finally then as I saw the same smile of happiness in Dumbledore's eyes then.
Knowing he was happy I was so happy then, before I saw the envelop and the newspaper and nodded. "Ron, Mione, Neville, someone had broken into Gringotts, listen to this, 'Believed to be the work of dark wizards or witches unknown, the Gringotts Goblins acknowledging the breech can insist nothing. Now, was taken, the vault in question, number 713, had been emptied earlier that very same day.'." I read out and we exchanged looks.
"Strange, you went there to check on it, and then we yanked it, it's been close to a month so why would we have another breach attempt?" Ron said and I nodded. "He didn't realize we swapped pouches and possibly thinks he got the wrong vault as said pouch was a transfigured piece of metal made to look like the stone." I said and she nodded. "Yeah me too right now, but we know what we're doing, after repeated testing." she said and he nodded in agreement.
Checking out the messages on the others I saw the letters that the Dursleys and Pierre and his parents sent me, and smiled then gently as I knew it worked and she'd never been this happy to change finally as they were relaxed. "Well what do you know, Malcolm, Dennis and Gordon got sent to another school here, and Pierre and Dudley are at Smeltings right now." I said and she read the letter over my shoulder and nodded in relief as she answered me at that news.
"Well these guys need to change, before they get in trouble with the police, besides he's happy he's got a surrogate sister now, me being said." she said and I nodded to that remark. "Yeah, and you're my best friend, and though I love you, I don't love you like that, we're best friends, and you're my sister, and that's all there is between us." I said and she nodded. "Yeah, but we're 13, near 14 trapped in our 11 year old bodies." she said and I nodded to her gently at that.
"Yeah no kidding, but we make the best of the new memories now finally here." I said and she smiled as she, Neville, Ron and I exchanged grins then. "Hey guys we got Music Class today." I said and they nodded to me. "Well that's Professor Flitwick's catch then, good thing we're not on the choir." Draco said to me and I nodded laughing at that. "Yeah, but we're athletes here Drac', but we're not going head to head, you're as good as me." I said and he nodded to that.
"Well I was waiting for this, father just disowned me for going against everything he believes in." he said as he looked at the letter in his hand then. "No big deal, you're happier now, now that you got real friends." Mione said and he nodded as she patted his shoulder and he smiled at her. "You realize how many configurations we can make out of the five of us here?" he asked and she nodded. "Yeah we got 4 now, but friends for life now." she said and he nodded then.
"Hey Daph, what do you think of being a Gryffindor now?" I asked and she smiled. "It's nice, we're a pride and we have each other's backs now." she said and he, Tracy, and Mille nodded in agreement to that. "I think this was to put you in a different set of shoes here right now, as you see your former lives from our perspective now, by that I mean walk a mile in our shoes, as you see yourselves from our perspective now." Mione said to her and she nodded to her gently.
"Nice touch in the Halloween song here, with us being witches and wizards, but listen to this." I said as we hear the choir singing the song then gently at that. "Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn, and cauldron bubble, Double, double toil and trouble... Something wicked this way comes. Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing."
"Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn, and cauldron bubble, Double, double toil and trouble, Something wicked this way comes..., In the cauldron boil and bake, Fillet of a fenny snake, Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf, Witches' mummy, maw and gulf..., Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn, and cauldron bubble, Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn, and cauldron bubble..., Double, double toil and trouble."
"Fire burn, and cauldron bubble..., Something wicked this way comes." they sang out and we clapped. "Nice touch guys, that was great." I said and they smiled at the praise. "I could consider this song, about being in the potions lab and we're working on one for whatever we got coming up that year." Mione said and Severus, who arrived in time to heard that, nodded. "Some of those ingredients are for the wolfbane's potion." he said to her and she nodded.
"Then this was a potion to suppress Mooney, before he got let loose, or just Greyback right now." I said and he nodded to me. "Mooney?" Draco repeated and I nodded. "That's the name of Remus's wolf." Severus said and he nodded. "Problem is that he never let his wolf side take total hold here right now, so he looks like a wolf that's been drowned slightly." I said and Remus nodded with a bemused smile. "At least I'm safe." he said and I nodded to that remark then.
"Yeah you're safe, and I've never been happier to have you back in my life now, Uncle Remus." I said and he smiled at that remark. "I'm taking dad's advice, so I won't need this, once I know the lay-out of the entire school later on here, so you you keep this till the school year ends." I said and they nodded. "Back in the rightful hands of the creators, little brother?" Fred asked and I nodded as they looked at Remus smiling and I shook my head smiling as I said to him then.
"Perfectly understandable here in this right now, you need it as you knew the entire layout." I said and he nodded to me then. "You and Severus better hang on to the map for now, as we know it's safer in your hands though." I said and he nodded as I passed the map to them and Remus put it in his pocket. "I get why and to repeat what I would have said if we never arrested Peter, but you realize that this map, in his hands is a map to you?" he said and I nodded.
"I do and it's in safe hands now, but with 'him' here and next year Lockhart, I'm not taking any chances and heading it off, before we have problems, but was Greyback here in school, before he got turned?" I asked and Minerva nodded as she came in. "Yes, he was in my year, but he's the most savage wolf alive, and gives most other wolves a bad name for the level of savagery he does to people." she said and I nodded. "You, Remus?" I asked and he nodded sternly then
"I don't get it, what's the deal with this Greyback character?" Zach asked and I crossed my arms. "Don't you know anything Zach, why did Umbridge come here this morning, it's because of Greyback, and she thinks my uncle is like him, but no, there is no chance of that right now. But Greyback, from the rumors here, now, is the most savage werewolf in our world, he's notorious for attacking children." I said and he paled and Remus nodded as he said it sternly.
"Young man, listen to me right now, Fenrir Greyback is, perhaps, the most savage werewolf alive today, he regards it as his mission in life to bite. And I mean bite and to contaminate as many people as possible, he wants to create enough were wolves to overcome the wizards, but he's dangerous enough now. And as a normal werewolf, but before you freak out when I say this next remark, in the alias, but imagine if he was in the service of Riddle himself now."
"I mean it, think on that for a few minutes." he said and they all paled in fear and he nodded. "Exactly, Voldemort wouldn't care of what he is, so long as he use him to spread further fear into the lives of good witches and wizards, he's going to use him and has promised him prey in return for his services. Greyback specializes in children... Bite them young, he says, and raise them away from their parents, raise them to hate normal wizards." he said and they nodded then.
"Hedwig." I said and she gave me a hoot. "Take this message back to the ministry, I'm making a donation to the potions company that makes the potion for Remus, It's on the house for the entirety of the time I'm in school.
