I know almost a year since I updated… BTW did you guys know the Bleach anime is returning (so far sub only but dub is probably too) for the FINAL season later this year?! This story is really hard to make fun honestly… I kinda backed myself into a corner to be honest.
Honestly to get this story possibly back onto track I might have to summarize a major scene I wanted to put in and move back into the Real World. Sorry but this story is really in a corner right now.
Chapter 8 The Reason Why
Naruto returned a few moments later using Shunpo with the busty Nel holding onto his hand making most of the group jealous in some way or another. Rukia was once again envious of Nel's abnormally (in her modest opinion) large chest and curves even super models would pale against. Rangiku was pouting when it was clear Nel was not afraid to show affection towards Naruto especially when she sent a quick glare directed at her.
Renji was once again jealous of Naruto for bagging a woman like Nel barely keeping his lust in check regardless of the news she was an Arrancar (despite appearing to be completely human). Ichigo was blushing trying to avert his eyes to his teachers incredibly attractive girlfriend. Luckily Kon was still bound by Naruto or he would be leaping towards 'those heavily pillows' regardless of what happened afterwards.
Rukia decided to break the ice being objectively speaking the Soul Reaper who may have been on the best relative speaking terms with the mysterious blonde.
"Naruto-san? Why are you back and why is Nel-san with you?" Rukia asked politely as Nel gave her a friendly wave which she awkwardly returned.
Naruto gave her a shrug before whispering into Nel's ear making her give him a questioning look.
"Are you sure? You said you would not do that." Nel pointed out as Naruto looked away for a moment.
"He deserves to know even if it won't change anything." Naruto said firmly as the gathered Soul Reapers were utterly confused.
"What are they talking about?" Ichigo whispered to Rukia who gave him an annoyed look.
"How should I know? I met him the same time you did baka." Rukia replied as Ichigo waved his heads in surrender.
All the sudden Naruto opened Ichigo's room window and looked through it.
"Yoruichi! Kisuke! Come here!" Naruto shouted to the wind before he stepped back into the room calmly.
"Um what?" Ichigo summarized the feeling of the group as they looked wide eyed at Naruto while Nel gave a cute giggle.
"Naruto-kun is so silly sometimes. He could literally summon them here but he is having them race." Nel noted as Naruto crossed his arms childishly.
"You make me sound so devious Nel-chan!" Naruto countered although the smirk did not help his 'innocent' imagine.
Ichigo sweatdropped at how carefree his teacher was and he could tell Ikkaku and Toshiro secretly shared his sentiments.
There was suddenly a slight woosh associated with usage of Shunpo as two figures rushed into Ichigo's room as if from the air itself.
Yoruichi appeared in all her beautiful glory with a proud smirk on her face as she put her hands on her hips.
Kisuke appeared the next moment with a pout especially when Yoruichi sent him a teasing smirk.
"Beat you!" Yoruichi sang happily as Kisuke squatted down with a cloud somehow appearing above his head.
"You just beat me when we started at the same time." Kisuke pointed out as Yoruichi rolled her eyes.
"Semantics. You are just jealous I was always the better student at Shunpo!" Yoruichi claimed as Kisuke glared at her briefly before sighing.
'So fast. These guys are in a league of their own.' Rukia noted in awe of the duo's speed.
'So, this is Yoruichi's legendary speed. She deserves Flash Goddess as she is far faster then Captain Kuchiki and Soifon.' Captain Hitsugia thought critically AN2:
'And Kisuke Urahara is nearly as fast as her despite not having a legendary title like Yoruichi Shihouin.' Toshiro thought with some fear knowing his own Shunpo paled in comparison to these two masters.
"Well, I am better at Kido and Zanjutsu." Kisuke pouted back as Yoruichi now looked annoyed before Naruto clapped his hands getting them both to look at him.
"That's enough. Its not a competition. You are both my students and I proud of you both." Naruto said simply as even Ichigo could sense the sense of pride coming from the Former Captains at Naruto's simple words.
After a minute Yoruichi decided to ask "So Naruto why are we here?".
Naruto looked grim for a moment before saying "So the 4 of us can go to the Soul Society together."
Nel widened her eyes before nodding grabbing Naruto hand again while Kisuke and Yoruichi exchanged worried looks before nodding.
Naruto was about to press his hand in the air before Renji decided to give his two cents.
"Wait a minute! You guys can't just go into the Soul Society whenever you want!" Renji shouted no t saying the warning signs from Rukia behind him. Ichigo gulped when he saw Yoruichi and Kisuke have a dark aura but oddly enough Naruto seemed calm as can be if not appearing abit amused.
"And why may I ask can we not go to Soul Society? We can open a portal there directly." Naruto pointed out with a smirk as Renji frowned.
Toshiro sighed but stood up as well.
"I am afraid I must agree with Renji. Yoruichi and Kisuke are former Captains and even with the business of Aizen, their banishment has not officially been rescinded yet." Toshiro said sternly as the two former Captains glared at the younger and shorter Captain.
"Listen here you brat! You think you are hot stuff but any of us could kick all your puny asses into the ground." Yoruichi stated pointing to herself, Naruto, Kisuke and Nel before sending a glare making Toshiro wince.
Naruto just sighed crossing his arms as Nel let go putting on her hands near her hip as her eyes narrowed.
'Just what I need. It was so much easier when I snuck into the Soul Society but now that I revealed myself the Gotei 13 is likely tracking me for the most part.' Naruto remarked in his head. He had often snuck into the Soul Society and Seireitei when he was bored or wanted to train his students. He never let anyone including the Captains sense him though.
Ichigo started to sweat almost as if he could sense a fight brewing between the assigned Soul Reapers and Naruto mix matched group inside his bed room. Rukia was also starting to feel like a fight was going to brew and she was getting worried.
'Arrancars and Aizen could invade at any time and Renji and Hitsugaya-Taicho are antagonizing our arguably most important allies?' Rukia thought frantically.
Ikkaku had his hand on his Zanpaktou while he grinned manically hoping for a full-on fight.
"Fine. Everyone here can come with us to Soul Society." Naruto declared much to the surprise of everyone there.
"Are you sure? I thought you wanted to talk to him privately and with the group here he will have no choice but to call a Full Captain meeting." Yoruichi whispered in worry as Naruto shrugged.
Rukia bit her lip and looked around before Naruto pat her on the head with a warm grin much to her surprise.
"Rukia. Feel free to speak your mind. If you want to say something to me just say it." Naruto said in an encourage tone as Rukia blinked before nodding.
"Naruto-san we were ordered to stay in Karakura Town in case Aizen or his army attempts to attack. If we all leave, we will be leaving the town defenceless." Rukia pointed out as Naruto smirked.
"Believe me I actually like the town quite abit so I am not going to let it be destroyed any time soon." Naruto assured her warmly before he shrugged his shoulders.
"My portal ability is instantaneous so even if there was an issue, I can teleport us back lickety split." Naruto added as Rukia slowly nodded.
The tension soon disappeared as the group nodded to each other.
"Very well. I think the Head Captain will understand if its you." Toshiro said hesitantly realizing there was actually nothing he could do to stop Naruto if he wanted to go. At most he would piss off Naruto and a war could start before Aizen even had a fully developed army ready.
The group soon lined up as Naruto with Nel in the front and Kisuke and Yoruichi behind him looked back.
"Okay so everyone is accounted for! You ready everyone?" Naruto asked cheerfully as he got grunts of agreement from everyone.
Naruto snapped his finger as a black door appeared once again. Naruto opened it revealing a small distortion of space and time as he stepped aside and waved at them.
"Off we go to the Soul Society!" Naruto announced as Yoruichi and Kisuke were the first to slide through the opening without any hesitation. Renji sighed along with Toshiro as they walked in next. Ikkaku and Yumichika just walked through without a word. Ichigo looked at the eager Rukia before they stepped in together.
Rangiku batted her eyes at Naruto who smirked at her but Nel hold onto Naruto arm with her bountiful chest glaring at the busty Lieutenant as she glared right back at the busty green haired woman. Naruto just rolled his eyes before the three of them stepped through the opening with it vanishing immediately afterwards as if they were never there in the first place.
The group then blinked their eyes as they were inside the Captain Meeting room to a wide-eyed Yamamoto as everyone except Naruto group stared at the bored Naruto.
"What? You think I would waste time going past the gate?" Naruto asked as Yamamoto sighed as his eccentric sensei.
"Never mind Sensei. Why are you here and bringing back the Relief Squad, Former Captains and…" Yamamoto asked before his eyes focused on Nel who to her credit only flinched slightly at the glare of the strongest member of Soul Society. AN3:
Toshiro decided to speak being technically the ranking office in charge as he bowed along with the Soul Reapers except Ichigo who just stood there. Yoruichi and Kisuke also refused to bow but Kisuke at least tilted his head slightly in respect.
"Sir. Naruto Uzumaki requested a meeting with you urgently to discuss certain matters and I saw no reason to deny that request. His unique method of travel I did not know would take us here directly so I apologize for the lack of preparation sent." Toshiro informed him respectfully deciding that it was not in his best interest to reveal he was against the meeting in the first place.
"I see Hitsuguya-Taicho." Yamamoto said calmly but his narrowing of his eyes indicated he could tell the Ice Captain was not being 100% truthful.
'Hmm brat. Trying to act like me coming here was his idea and I needed permission.' Naruto scoffed at the implication that anyone could actually stop him if they tried to.
"Sensei who is that woman? She is clearly not a Soul Reaper or human." Yamamoto said sharply looking intensely at the Green haired woman as the Soul Reaper group tensed knowing how protective the blonde seemed to be about his girlfriend.
"….." Naruto stayed quiet for a moment before looking at his student in the eyes.
"Call for all the Captains and I will explain it once." Naruto said as Yamamoto frowned before nodding.
"Very well. I suppose it is the for the best." Yamamoto agreed reluctantly seeing no reason to deny his teacher this fairly simple request.
Yamamoto turned to the Ichigo and the rest of the Relief squad.
"You may stay for the meeting but you will not speak unless unspoken to." Yamamoto decreed as Ichigo looked ready to disagree but Rukia shook her head grimly as the rest of the group besides Toshiro walked to a corner of the room. Toshiro took his place in line for the Captain meeting while giving a cautious look to Naruto and Nel who stood in the middle along with Kisuke and Yoruichi who all looked solemn.
Yamamoto tapped his cane on the floor as instantly a messenger Soul Reaper arrived instantly on one knee waiting orders from the Head Captain.
"Sir." The Soul Reaper said full respect not even acknowledging all the arrivals with a glance.
"Send a message to all Captains that an Emergency Meeting will take place immediately. No exceptions. All Captains must attend!" Yamamoto declared as the Soul Reaper bowed his head once.
"Right away Head Captain! Sir!" The Soul Reaper replied before vanishing with a burst of Shunpo.
Several minutes later various Captains came in and soon arrived in their spots in the Captain room.
Kenpachi grinned at Ichigo who starting sweating having not forgotten the former promise to cut him up the next time they fought.
"I was thinking this meeting was going to be a pain in the ass but you Ichigo here! And even that weird blonde with that killer power of his!" Kenpachi said happily.
"Who is that guy talking about 'weird blonde'? At least I don't wear Bells in my hair…." Naruto whispered. He could sense that the Tall Captain was indeed strong especially factoring in that he could sense his eyepatch suppressing most of his Spirit Energy.
'However, his Zanpaktou is a different story.' Naruto thought glancing out the corner of his eye the long blade hanging from Kenpachi hip.
"Zaraki! Be respectful! Head Captain Yamamoto called this meeting for a reason! Not to have you pick fights with our allies." 7th Captain Sajin Komamura chided lightly as Kenpachi grunted.
'Dog Face at least has good manners and I can sense almost godlike respect for little Yama. Maybe he feels he owes his life to Yama?' Naruto thought.
"Yoruichi-sama!" Soifon said loudly before coughing when she realized she was in a public space.
"Soifon. I hope you have been well." Yoruichi said calmly briefly turning around to give the Petite Captain a smile.
"Of course, my Lady!" Soifon beamed almost as if she believed her former sensei was here just to see her.
However, she soon realized that two of her LEAST favourite people were there as there.
"Head Captain! What are they doing here?" Soifon said with a slight hiss. It did not take a genius to see she was referring to a smirking Naruto and Kisuke who looked away from the annoyed Captain.
Byakuya frowned at the smaller Captain impudence. He still considered he owed a debt to Ichigo Kurosaki and Naruto Uzumaki for being responsible for saving his believed sister when he was honor bound not to help.
"Soifon-Taicho. Mind your tone. Do not forget your actions on Sokyoko Hill disgraced us all." Byakuya said coolly as Soifon bowed her head in shame.
Ichigo and Rukia exchanged looks of wonderment at the usually stoic Captain was defending them while Naruto had a soft smile on his face for a moment.
'I guess he hasn't forgotten the value of family huh?' Naruto mused.
"Man, we are lively today huh? Plus, Yama-Jiji Sensei is here too!" Shunsui pointed out cheerfully as Naruto smirked already liking his student's student casual attitude.
"Yes. Plus, one other person we do not know." Jushiro Ukitake pointed out as everyone chatted soon stopped when everyone turned to the tall busty Green haired woman next to Naruto Uzumaki.
"Yes, let us get this meeting on the way!" Yamamoto declared tapping his cane on the floor twice.
"Sensei! You will tell us who this woman beside you is!" Yamamoto demanded as Naruto ignored all the stares from various Captains as he took a deep breath.
"She is Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, a former Espada." Naruto explained as the Captains gave him a look on confusion.
"Mind explaining what an Espada is?" Mayuri demanded practically seething when he saw his predecessor in the same room as him. Kisuke for his part just gave Mayuri a polite wave even when he got glared at.
Naruto frowned but Nel decided to answer for him.
"Espada is given as a title to Aizen top strongest Arrancars. I guess in a way they are his 'Captains'." Nel revealed.
This piece of information predictably got most of the Captains in an uproar demanding they kill Nel for the threat she could be or declaring her a spy for Aizen.
Only for every Captain besides Yamamoto himself to fall to their knees gasping when Naruto glared and raised his Spiritual Pressure to such heights the air itself seemed to boil.
"You touch her I destroy you all." Naruto warned as he placed his hand on his Zanpaktou as everyone struggled to even stand.
'Impossible! He is just as strong as Jiji when he gets serious and he hasn't released his Shikai yet!' Shunsui thought with terror as he glanced at Naruto but his eyes widened when he noticed that the Arrancar Nel was also seemingly not affected nor Ichigo or Rukia.
'Is his powers not affecting them because he chooses for them not be a target?!' Shunsui thought urgently as he also saw Kisuke and Yoruichi still standing but with frowns on their faces. He was quick to notice that Captain Kuchiki and Captain Unohana were also on their feet with surprised expressions. AN4:
"Sensei. Please stop." Yamamoto asked but placed his on his own Zanpaktou in warning.
Naruto stared into his student's eyes in a star off as nobody could even make a breath from the pressure.
Naruto eyes were red full of anger and coldness bothong like the cheerful blue they normally were. Naruto expression was cool as he kept a grip on his Zanpaktou.
In an instant that nobody besides Yamamoto himself could see Naruto was surrounded. Kisuke had drawn his Zanpaktou and had it edge pressed against Naruto's neck with Nel own Zanpaktou on the other side of his neck almost like a scissor like effect. Meanwhile Yoruichi was in front of Naruto with her hand on his wrist preventing him from drawing his sword out.
Everyone eyes were wide although Yamamoto eyes were rather sad while Naruto cold eyes did not soften as he turned his head down.
"What are exactly do you think you are doing?" Naruto asked calmly but his eyes narrowed with slightest annoyance.
Kisuke sighed and looked at his sensei with sadness.
"What we promised we would do. Stop you if you ever went too far." Kisuke answered.
"If you go down this path you can't come back from it." Yoruichi pleaded as Naruto clenched his hand and grit his teeth.
"Maybe I should go too far! The Soul Society is full of contradictions! It not a paradise people can rest after their life is over! Just a prison so souls can be used in the name of 'justice'!" Naruto snapped angrily as most Captains glared at Naruto although Shunsui and Ukitiake did notice their teacher look down with barely hidden shame.
"What is the point of continuing a system that would rather sweep everything underneath the carpet then solve the problem!" Naruto shouted as burst of Spiritual Pressure made everyone flinch as it came in random bursts with his words.
Nel moved so she could look at Naruto in the eyes while still holding her blade to his neck.
"You are better then this. I know you are a good man in your heart." Nel pleaded with him as Naruto eyes flickered from red and blue before becoming red as he looked at one of his current lovers.
"Maybe I am not." Naruto said quietly as he bit his lip.
To the shock of everyone Nel released her blade and walked in front of Naruto with her arms spread as she put her sword back it's sheathe.
"Nel! What are you doing!" Ichigo shouted as Nel continued to looked sad but resolute.
"If you cannot let go of your hatred then kill me. I would rather die knowing you are good then watch you turn evil." Nel declared as Naruto eyes which were still red widened.
"I could never…." Naruto said as he tried to go forward but Kisuke and Yoruichi held him in place.
Nel looked deep into Naruto's eyes with hers full of compassion even as his red eyes were everything she could not accept about Naruto.
"I know I can never be her no matter how long I live." Nel said sadly as Naruto lowered his head.
'Her?' Everyone else thought as Kisuke and Yoruichi looked down as well.
"Please. Don't say it." Naruto asked but Nel shook her head.
"I can never ne Hinata and take that spot in your heart." Nel admitted as Naruto started to pant desperately.
"It's not about you…" Naruto tried to assure her but she gave him a sweet sad smile.
"But there is one big thing different about us." Nel said as she started to walk closer until she put her hands over his arms.
"I am here right now with you. I am not a distant memory of a person you loved." Nel told him gently as she watched Naruto expression gasp as his eyes flickered.
After what appeared to be an eternity his eyes returned to their natural blue as he slumped onto his knees as his students released him.
Nel scooped him into a tight hug as he buried his face into her shoulder and held her close.
"I'm sorry. I am so sorry." Naruto whispered as he looked rather broken.
"It's okay. You can fall and we will always be there to catch you." Nel assured him as behind Naruto Kisuke and Yoruichi nodded eagerly.
The pressure disappeared as everyone tried to catch their breath.
Ichigo turned to Rukia and whispered "I don't think we felt what everyone else felt but…. You felt it too, right?".
Rukia looked down at Naruto before looking back at Ichigo.
"Yeah… It was like looking at death itself. My body refused to move almost as if I was in a presence of a God itself. Aisen has nothing on him." Rukia whispered everyone slowly got back onto their knees.
Kenpachi was the one to say what was on everyone mind.
"What the hell just happened?" He shouted as Naruto got off his knees and had a sheepish smile.
"Um… Well lets just say I some anger issues that pop up when you threaten my loved ones." Naruto tried to explain.
"Anger issues! You just about declared war on else!" Soifon shouted before she gasped as Yoruichi appeared in front of her with a fist in front of her face.
"Don't speak of things you know nothing about." Yoruichi warned coldly as Soifon whimpered in fear.
"Naruto Uzumaki! What was the meaning of all this?" Yamamoto demanded as Naruto turned to his former student with sad smile.
"That is why I left all those years ago." Naruto revealed as he used his thumb to gesture to his eyes.
"My red eyes show that no matter how pure or righteous I wanted to be I can still become the villain." Naruto stated as he turned to Ichigo.
"Ichigo. You watch movies, right?" Naruto asked as Ichigo blinked when everyone turned to him.
"Um Yeah?" Ichigo replied as he looked confused at the odd question.
"Have you ever watched the 2008 movie film 'The Dark Knight'?" Naruto asked as Ichigo nodded.
"Good! It ahs nothing to do with the movie but one of the quotes from the movie really fits here." Naruto joked before getting serious.
"'You either die a hero or watch yourself become the villain.'" Naruto said resolutely before hie eyes grew tired and sad.
"And sometimes there are moments when I could become the villain." Naruto stated before he looked at Yamamoto with worried eyes.
"My eyes turned red that day when you failed to kill me. I truly wanted to end you for failing my goal for you. So, I ran away so I would not be tempted to kill my Student Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto Uzumaki." Naruto said revealing the Head Captain last name as his eyes were so wide.
"What?" He gasped.
"I left you so you would not have to die at my head all those years ago." Naruto repeated as eh clenched his hand.
N2: Just my thoughts as she outpaced Byakuya while carrying Ichigo (while admitting she was out of practice in the Soul Society arc) and she was just barely slower than Soifon while holding back and still not in prime form yet. (with her Shunko outmatching Soifon's completely).
AN3: Naruto is technically 'allied' with Soul Society vaguely but he is not part of it. He would not take a single command from Central 46 and actually might applaud Aizen for killing 'the old windbags who can't do anything for themselves'.
AN4: Basically Naruto is on a mini rampage but instinctively people he trusts are not affected by his powers, Ichigo and Rukia are basically his students, Yoruchi and Kisuke are his actual students, Nel is one of his lovers and Captain Kuchiki and Unohana are shown openly or at least subtly supporting him.
