Morning arrived early for the members of the Yggdmillennia Castle. It had to, because this was going to be it. They only had hours to prepare, and preparations had to be met with big finesse and precision.
For starters, Trifas had to be evacuated, because it was about to be a battlefield between man and god. For this purpose, Darnic had gotten up as early as 5am and invoked the local evacuation alarm at 6am. Due to the Yggdmillennia Family having enormous influence over Trifas, being their primary and sole benefactor as well as Darnic being local mayor, a small and often insignificant role to him which proved to be important for once, he was able to convince townfolk to move up north towards Targu Mures, far enough away to be safe from harm. And when people asked why the Evacuation was necessary, he told them that a meteorite had flown by the Earth and a chunk broke off and entered atmosphere, heading straight for Trifas, effectively telling them the city was about to be nuked by a space rock that decided to take a vacation trip at a bad time. Locals took the excuse seamlessly and evacuation proceeded mostly smoothly, public transportation was a big help and they got Trifas empty before Lunch. The small number of population helped as well.
While Darnic was Evacuating, everyone else did their own preparations.
Celenike and Fiore lead the Yggdmillennia's Homonculi for civilian protection and panic control with the evacuees to ensure smooth going.
Roche and Caules prepared all of the Golems and weaponized them for supportive roles.
Rin and Luvia stockpiled their gem reserves to as much as they could. The Yggdmillennia Family had a large amount of rare and high-quality gems so they had a very, very rich selection of good stuff.
Amakusa Shirou and Sieg sharpened their swords together and Amakusa helped Sieg get some protective gear equipped. Standart things like a chainmail shirt under his tuxedo to protect against regular weapons.
Jeanne D'Arc and Semiramis focused all their Mana concentrations to be at the highest reserves they could possibly amount for the battle.
Barthomeloi ran a full check with all of her circuits to make sure she was in perfect condition.
And El-Melloi II and Gordes went over their battle plan on how to proceed before sharing it with everyone else.
By the time Lunch arrived, Trifas was an abandoned ghost city and the Yggdmillennia Castle members were the only ones left. The team of a total of 11 people, and a couple hundred golems, were outside the main gates of the Castle, all assembled and in their best possible conditions.
El-Melloi II stepped forth to speak. "Now then... you all know what is about to happen. What is about to go down in history as maybe the toughest fight we ever faced. I don't have to remind you of what could happen if we fail, and I don't have to remind you of the goal here. Prevent Nanna from getting to the Grail. If he can touch it, it is all over. Nanna has possessed Emiya Shirou's body, so he will very likely have access to Shirou's Abilities as well as his Memories. Meaning he will know some of us and know how to fight us. Those people have to be very careful."
Rin felt personally attacked by this, but she couldn't disagree as of this moment.
"Now, for those who do not know yet..." Waver continued, his voice slightly louder. "...Emiya Shirou utilizes Projection and Reinforcement Magecraft. While sounding very basic, his Projections are advanced to a level unseen before. He is able to replicate ANY weapon out of his memory, that includes the physical weapinization of Noble Phantasms, and while only imitations, they are NOT to be underestimated. Battle Report indicates that if those Noble Phantasms possess innate abilities not specialized to the User, he can replicate those as well as long as he knows the precise compounds of the weapon and can recreate it within a condition to be used as such. Therefore, his arsenal is vast, it is powerful, and it can kill us before we even blink. So whatever happens, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS OPPONENT! If you can't avoid a killing blow, rather than hesitate and die yourself, and thus lower our already slim chances of victory, see it through."
This particularily stung badly with Luvia, as she really didn't want to have to go there, but if there truly, truly was no other choice...
"Some of those weapons' names have been provided by Rin Tohsaka, who has witnessed Emiya Shirou's combat prowess more extensively than anyone else here has. These are: Cadalborg, Hrunting and Naegling, Caliburn, Gae Bolg, Rule Breaker, Kanshou and Bakuya, Rho Aias and a downgraded, non-divine but all the same powerful version of Excalibur. All of these weapons are beyond dangerous, all of these however also consume quite a lot of mana, so while taking them head-on is very risky, let him use them every now and again and meet counter-measures accordingly to survive these. I shall recite them all, but only once, so memorize well!"
"Cadalborg can pierce anything, so evade it. Hrunting and Naegling have specialized traits in hitting optimally even when they are blocked, so combat those weapons at range. Caliburn's power is invoked by stab-wounds, so avoid it piercing you. Gae Bolg creates a large-scale explosion akin to carpet-bombing. The Explosions themselves are not nearly as harmful as the Spear, so let it blow up against something and then use defensive measures against the ensueing explosions! Rule Breaker reverses all forms of known Thaumaturgy, so DO NOT use Magecraft when combatting it. Kanshou and Bakuya are most threatening up close and in pairs, so if you can't disarm him, stay at a distance. Rho Aias is his primary defensive spell, and while unbreakable to all of our current methods, he can only use it in one direction, so surround and flank him. And lastly, Excalibur. While massively weaker and a non-divine copy of the original, it is none the less a Sword of Promised Victory that will give him a sure win if he can use it. If you see him project Excalibur, you either disarm him, cut his hand off if you have to, or you burn all defensive measures to try and survive."
When he was finally done, El-Melloi II glanced around the group before he nodded his head. "Now, those are Emiya Shirou's powers... we don't know anything about Nanna himself, other than him being the Deity of the Moon and the bearer of the title Lord of Wisdom. So expect to be surprised a few times. Do not hope for the best here, for it does not exist. Prepare for the worst, and pray you are ready enough to take it. Are there ANY questions!?"
When his question was met with an extended silence, he nodded his head. "Alright... Remember, while killing the host-body has to be an option at all times, and one we have to consider with a realistic chance, it is not a priority. If we can exorcise the God without killing the Man, all the better. Shirou's Projection originates from his Reality Marble, called 'Unlimited Blade Works', another information provided by Rin Tohsaka. Our primary target is to force him to use it, as his projections are miles stronger, more numerous and better controlled in it, but it also invites us into his mindscape. From there, Sieg, Luvia, Rin and Barthomeloi are going to hijack the deeper layers of his consciousness through the Reality Marble while the rest of us holds him off for long enough to let them do their work. The Vice Director has prepared a special magecraft-ritual that should allow us a one-time-only chance to break past the layers of his Reality Marble and enter his minds deeper consciousness, so if this fails, we will have no option to save Emiya Shirou and MUST consider killing him as the final solution. Do I hear any Objections!?"
When another extended silence came, Waver had his answer to it and he simply nodded. "In that case... Now, we observe and wait." He spoke before he turned around and pointed up at the sky. For those who looked very sharply, high up in the air, they could see a dot, a spot just enough to be made out by the naked eye. "Our Enemy is right there! And he is coming. We are ready for him, so let him come!"
Semiramis stepped forth, as it was still her Hanging Gardens of Babylon and so she could sense the state it was in, much like it was a little heart which's beat she could hear. It was faint, so faint that if she didn't pay as much attention as she did, she wouldn't notice it and think it was coming down. Through this, she knew that it was about time. She reached with her hand for the necklace on her and moved it to her lips, kissing it gently. And with that motion, the feeling disappeared entirely. She gazed up to look at the structure from so afar and just sighed. "And so... it begins..."
Nanna, who had been standing at the very edge of the Platform, gazed down as he was trying to make out the Castle, but Shirou's eyes, however sharp they were, couldn't see that far. "Heh, 4 Kilometers is too much it seems. No difference-" He paused mid-sentence as he heard a very, very loud crack and turned around.
He turned just in time to notice a very loud set of cracks and the sound of exploding stone and he knew. "This is it. This is where my descend begins so I can then Ascend beyond... hmm, I love an Irony."
With his words spoken, the exploding of the stones became out of control, and in a matter of seconds, the entire Hanging Gardens fell apart, the structure beginning to fall down to ground as large chunks of rock, heading straight down for Trifas.
As the Chunks were descending at a greater speed, slowly, but surely, they became visible to the ground, enlargened through perspective by the shortened distance until they eventually began to crash down to ground, shaking the earth, destroying the houses, and some pieces even fell onto the Castle. The Servants Jeanne and Amakusa, together with Sieg, were the fastest and most robust of everyone present so they made sure no debris hit the group or the location they were positioned at.
And then, the rest came down as one, huge projectile, hitting the center of Trifas City and causing a gitantic shockwave to go off in all directions. Barthomeloi stepped forward and used one of her many spells unknown before, forming a Chop with her hand and slicing downwards. On command, a thin slice of Air shot forth into the Shockwave and hit it dead on, cutting its force apart sideways enough to leave the group unharmed.
Trifas City was thus officially and completely destroyed. And with an amusing accuracy to Darnic's excuse, no less, so covering it up won't be as difficult.
The Smoke that engulfed the city remained for a short moment, before it was suddenly blown away by another, much stronger and quicker shockwave than before, pushing all the dirt and ash within the air aside enough to reveal Nanna-possessed Shirou to everyone else.
"Oh... Sherou..." Luvia moaned sadly. She couldn't believe it, but there he was, and true to the dot, she couldn't see it. That gentle light in his eyes. Instead it was replaced with a deathly cold. "Those aren't his eyes... how I wished everyone to be mistaken..."
Rin noticed the distressed way Luvia was looking at the Nanna-possessed boy and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey... don't chicken out now. I am every bit as mortified as you are, but... we have to save him. So keep it together, alright? I'll give you a good fight afterwards, too!"
This seemed to have the intended effect of cheering Luvia up enough to nod and look ahead.
Nanna-possessed Shirou began to walk forward, one step, then a second, then a third. As he did so, it became more evident that he was topless. His shirt, for those who remember, he tore off during his fight with Leonidas, and he never got a new one, so Luvia and Rin were greeted with a hefty cheque of fanservice in the form of Abs, pecs and a Biceps that made Greek Heroes jealous. Needless to say, they short-circuited for a second, both of them, and it wasn't until Semiramis slapped them both did they return to sane mind.
As Nanna-possessed Shirou continued to approach, the whole group of 11 people started to approach him as well. They were all spread out enough so that Nanna could see all of their faces by the time they were close enough to hear one another. "I have to say... impressive. You even brought some reinforcements. But at the cost of others... I don't see any of the other Servants. Don't tell me now that they all bit the dust?" He asked, his distorted, self-echoing voice that was a deeper variant of Shirou's own, spoke. The way he sounded and the absolutely desinterested way he started at them unnerved every single one of the 11 people present.
"For a god, you don't look too impressive." Barthomeloi began, narrowing her eyes a bit. "But then again, I have faced off against a Dead Apostle Ancestors before who looked not just like a clown, but like the whole circus, so I know not to judge by looks. And yet... I can't help but feel like being in this body limits you more than you'd like to admit."
"Are you seriously going to try and appeal to the limits of this... Chrysalis?... Barthomeloi Lorelei?"
This suddenly got Lorelei a bit on edge. She never met Shirou, and she was very meticulous to make sure he never got any information on her, so how...
"I see it. Your mind is asking the question. How is it that I know you? How is it that I know ALL OF YOU? The answer is simple, because I have already predicted this to happen."
"What?" Jeanne asked while circling somewhat around him to try and get a flanking position ready.
"You don't get this far and don't account for the rest of the way. I imagined many ways this could play out, and facing off against you all was within it, but I expected the Servants to be here too, so this actually plays into my favor. And unlike Shirou, who eliminates risks by head-tanking them all, I account for them and calculate them into my plans. A Calculated Risk is no risk at all, after all."
"Man do you love to hear yourself talk..." Rin then commented, firing her shot at him.
"Rin Tohsaka... the best friend who never dared look over her shoulder to see if he was still walking... sharp tongue as always."
"She may have a sharp tongue..." Luvia responded before taking out a pair of gems and getting ready. "But this one's got a blunt fist for you..."
"Luviagelita Edelfelt. The Forgotten... the sad Martyr who loved this boy, the one who allowed his damnation to begin..." Nanna retorted as he turned his head enough to see the Blonde.
"What do you mean?" She immediately asked, charging her jewels up.
"When I first began to lay out my traps, I started by baiting Emiya Shirou into giving me entry to the first layer of his conscious mind, his memories. He allowed it by sacrificing the memory of a person for all eternity. That person, the person HE CHOSE!? That was you, Luviagelita. You were deemed so small and insignificant that he had no quarrels to forget you!"
"No..." Luvia gasped, shaking and looking down at her hands. "No... this... this isn't real!"
"Oh it is! Mesopotamian Deities cannot lie. You were just the latest of victims to the grand hubris that was this sorry of an excuse he calls himself, the paradox of a Hero of Justice. The latest in a long and never-ending list of losses he will continue to suffer for all eternity until he is dead. You, Luviagelita, were the latest victim EMIYA SHIROU FAILED TO SAVE!"
With how loud his voice suddenly became, everyone assumed an attack incoming. Nanna projected 10 basic swords and fired them at his enemies, all who either blocked, parried, deflected or just broke through them. The one person he didn't attack right away was Caules because he dashed forward towards the young Magus, fist balled and reinforced, evident by the green lines of the Circuits on his skin's surface. However, before Nanna's punch could connect, it was blocked by the reinforced shin of Sieg, who followed up with a counter-attack by swinging his sword downwards. Nanna blocked it by punching the blade out of his hand before he gripped Sieg's collar and threw him a large distance.
Caules took the opportunity to reinforce his legs and leap away a large distance, just enough to avoid Rin having lifted up one of the many massive chunks of Debris and was hurling it at Nanna from above, colliding with him and the ground. However, this attack proved ineffective as the Stone shattered and Nanna used Shirou's projection magic to create a comparably frail and powerless copy of Gae Bolg, javelin-tossing it straight at Rin, who was able to take it head on with her projections, but she was still tossed a good distance away from the impact.
The Toss distracted Nanna just enough for Luvia to toss one jewel straight to his face, which exploded just before impact with a bright light to blind him for a second. Then, Amakusa flew by to give his face a kick from the side, causing Nanna to inch to the side. As he did so, Semiramis flew by behind him and cut into his right heel with her poisoned dagger, but one glance at the wound told her he had nigh-100% poison resistance and this attack proved beyond useless except for wounding his heel. Barthomeloi appeared on Nanna's other side while Semiramis took up the one where she landed at and the two began to fight Nanna in close-combat. Nanna blocked both sides' attacks flawlessly since the blinding from the jewel wore off fast enough for him to react. He favored attacking Semiramis in return because she was much weaker than Barthomeloi, and as soon as he blocked her second dagger-slash, he scooted towards her and kicked her aside before he went into an intensive and very speedy hand-to-hand exchange with Lorelei.
While Lorelei kept his attention forward to her, Sieg used his Flame-based Magecraft as a means to propel himself by creating shockwaves with it at his feet, pseudo-flying towards the enemy before throwing a concentrated fireball at his back. This caused Nanna to stumble forward and into Lorelei's left hook, hitting him clean in the face. Nanna took a second to recover, and when he did, he caught her right follow-up hook and heelkicked her in her Diaphragm to send her flying. He didn't set his foot down, however. Instead, he swung it behind him and backwards-spinkicked Jeanne D'Arc away from himself. The kick against Ruler doubled as his impact-momentum to propel him forward and flying knee-kick the incoming Sieg straight to the face, flattening the Homunculus to ground.
"Numbers give you an advantage, but you cannot keep this up forever. Your Formation is lacking, your teamwork faulty." Nanna began as he then projected Hrunting and Naegling in his hands and took a very offensive stance with both weapons.
Amakusa and Sieg were the ones to meet him for this exchange. Sieg used his superior strength to catch the dull mace-sword Naegling while Amakusa used his refined skill to parry Hrunting, occupying both of Nanna's sides at the same time and forcing him to go back and forth between left and right. Sieg then dropped his swird and grabbed Naegling with both hands, using it to swing himself up and fly-kick Nanna in the face, which made him stumble backwards. Amakusa took the chance to grip the possessed body of Shirou in a sleeper-hold to try and choke him to unconsciousness. Nanna reacted quick, however, letting Naegling go to drop Sieg before kicking the hilt of the blade to send the Homunculus flying. Then, he lifted his legs up high and dropped himself by weight, forcing Amakusa to bend forward and lose stability. Following up, Nanna then pushed backwards with a jump and forced Amakusa to ground with his back, hitting it hard.
Before Nanna could get up, however, Rin returned with a tall leap followed by a high-speed dropkick to his sides, causing him to be sent flying a short distance before he got up on his feet. But when he did, Luvia gripped his arm in a lock, followed by throwing Nanna over her shoulder and slam him face first to ground before the blonde retreated. Nanna was about to get up but felt a powerful stomp to the back of his face, courtesy of Lorelei, which caused his face to hit the ground so hard it bounced right back up like a basketball, blood smearing all over his visage due to the excessively broken nose.
At this, Nanna had enough and released a raw Mana Burst in all directions with a very loud roar. "ENOUGH!" He shouted before he leapt very high into the air and began to cast Projections. One, two, five, ten, twenty-five. Weapons started to appear en masse, and while of lesser quality, it was the number that counted. He let it all drop down like rain on his enemies, who all either blocked, evaded, parried or just facetanked it with Reinforcement magecraft. He continued to project weapons endlessly, and as he did, he made his way to the first person to defeat, Caules. He came down before the black-haired Magus and gripped his throat tightly before slamming him harshly to the ground then stabbed him through both shoulders with projected swords that were thin, but very long, and pushed until the blades were at his shoulders with the hilt. Non-lethal, but painful as all hell and quite literally pinned him to the ground.
Caules' scream alerted the others that he was down for the count and Nanna made his way to his next victim.
He dashed towards Semiramis while having projected Kanshou and Bakuya and engaged in close combat with her. Semiramis tried her best, but the weapon-rain ontop of the high-pressure onslaught got to her and Nanna ended up slicing off her right arm and cutting along the length of her left, leaving her literally disarmed before kicking her to the face and stomping her head into the ground with a few added kicks, knocking her unconscious, and if her arms weren't treated within a few minutes, she would also die and return to Akasha.
"9 To go!" He roared to himself mostly before he stopped the rain of swords and projected a new Kanshou and Bakuya, this time their Overedge-versions while throwing a more than devious smirk at the others.
He was engaged by Jeanne and Luvia, the former using the flagpole for mid-range attacks while Luvia used her martial arts prowess and impressive reinforcement magecraft for close-quarter offenses, applying high pressure on Nanna. The Deity reacted by reaching for Luvia, only for her to counter by gripping his arm in a very tight lock, holding his arm with both of hers, one leg holding him by his neck and the other by the torso, which was followed by flattening him to the ground before pulling at his arm to keep it extended and weak, taking his elbow and wrist hostage. Jeanne followed up by using her Flag pole to impale Nanna's other hand into the ground, pinning it down tightly with both hands. Rin leapt down from above and kneed Nanna in the lower abdomen before taking one leg hostage similarily to how Luvia gripped it while Amakusa came at him for his remaining leg, trapping it by pinning it down with Black Keys locking it down via crossing the blades as they came to ground, the edge against the legs like a scissor would be.
"We got you trapped, Nanna. You're not getting out of this." El-Melloi II taunted. Their plan was to set him off to use his Reality Marble, so they had to intentionally be arrogant and pin him down.
"You thought too early, Humans!" Nanna responded before he suddenly projected Kanshou as a handgun in the hand that Luvia held, pulling the trigger and barely missing her head, but shocking her enough to weaken her hold. He let Kanshou-gun go and punched Luvia in the throat, not hard enough to crush her windpipe but make her choke for a moment none the less, then whipped his arm up and punched Jeanne away before gripping her Flag and swinging it at Amakusa and Rin to get them off. Once done, he pulled the Black Keys off his leg to get up and took a stance using Jeanne's Pole.
Barthomeloi was the one to engage, reinforcing her skin with her magecraft before throwing a pretty typical punch, which Shirou met with the tip of the Flagpole, but her fist proved to be just as hard, if not more, because the weapontip and the fist clashed without either breaking, causing a momentary stalemate. Nanna made use right away and pulled the tip back barely an inch before spinning the Pole and hammering the bottom end right into Barthomeloi's neck, but it didn't even budge, her reinforcement magic proving tougher than it looked. So Nanna repeated the motion a few times, not for the damage but the raw impact force, the strength of the hits forcing Barthomeloi back bit by bit, and however unphased she was, she couldn't get a good footing as a result and was forced to retreat before she fired blades of Wind at the possessed body of Shirou, who evaded them before javelin-tossing the flag at Barthomeloi, sending her flying due to her reinforcement not budging.
After the toss, Sieg slid from the side and kicked Nanna in his heels to throw him off, or tried because it failed. Nanna spun around enough to dodge and retaliated with a kick straight to the face, sending Sieg flying a good distance. Then, Luvia and Rin both made finger-guns at him and fired their Gandr Shots, hitting one shoulder each, causing Nanna to stagger back before he projected another Kanshou and Bakuya as handguns and aimed it at them, pulling the trigger as many times as he could on them, but the two simply tanked the bullets by reinforcing themselves again. Due to the attention drawn to the two, Roche saw his time to shine and ordered all Golems to aim at Nanna before all of them, from a good enough distance away, began mass-carpet bombing the area while everyone else ran to safety distance, hundreds upon hundreds of shots of pure mana fired by modulated cannons in the Golem's arms. However, this had the side-effect of draining and ultimatedly shutting the golems down, so when the last shot was fired, all golems were functionally dead and useless.
As the Dust settled, it showed that Nanna blocked the whole attack by using a Rho Aias he directed straight upwards then laid himself down so the shield protected him similarily to how a bean would be covered if a bowl was placed upside down over it, effectively protecting him from all directions except below ground. When Nanna saw that the Attack had stopped, he dispersed Rho Aias and got back up immediately.
Immediately after he did, Sieg dashed ino from a far distance in almost a split second and the two clashed, Nanna projecting Caliburn in the last second to block the slash. The two began a heated trade of blades, in which Sieg seemed to have the upper hand at first, but Nanna had created a faint-opening for Sieg to hit it, causing the Homunculus to perform a downward slash and cut slightly into Nanna's shoulder. The possessed body shot its arm up to trap Sieg by gripping his arm tightly before he then pierced his foot with Caliburn, causing the Homunculus to groan in pain, which distracted him enough to not notice right away that Nanna projected another Caliburn in his hand and ran it right through the Homunculus' lower abdomen, stabbing him with it, the one thing he was warned not to let happen. And on command, as soon as Sieg realized it, Caliburn fired a thin but highly concentrated beam, creating a fist-sized hole in Sieg's lower abdomen, and while not dead right away, the wound was fatal and Sieg collapsed as the effect to it.
"SIEG! NOO!" Jeanne Roared out before she lunged from high above at Nanna, who stepped aside to let her flagpole bury itself into the ground before he then gripped it and used it as a handle to rotate himself with it and fly-kick the saint away before he then threw the Flagpole after her mid-flight, making it pierce through her abdomen while she flew back until she hit the ground.
"COME ON! YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH MORE TO GIVE!? PATHETIC!" Nanna taunted as he looked around himself to see the remaining combatants, being Rin, Luvia, Barthomeloi and Amakusa Shirou. El-Melloi II, Gordes and Roche were present too, but El-Melloi II couldn't fight for shit, he was a tactical genius, tutor and thinker who figures things out; Gordes' strength was Alchemy and not anything combat-related at all, and Roche's one chance had passed with all his golems exhausted. Jeanne would recover from her wound soon enough as her flagpole's peak damage potential was rather small, given its width. "Weak, very weak!"
Barthomeloi decided to become serious and charged up several circuits at once to press out the peak condition of her Reinforcement, her skin becoming as unbreakable as Diamond as a result, and she charged forth with blinding speed, taking a Moving Stance from the Bajiquan and close the distance between her and Nanna before he could react before throwing out her fist for an upper hook, utilizing the 'Eight Grand Openings - The Standing Upward Cannon' against Nanna. However, Nanna seemed to know this attack as he made a face of sickening glee when the fist came in and he slid both hands forward, circling around Lorelei's quickly closing in fist before gripping at her arm, one hold on her elbow and the other at her wrist. He disabled her attack by pressing the elbow inwards, to which she had to prematurely release the force of the Attack to turn her upper body along the movement and prevent her elbow from being destroyed, which in turn resulted in her stance breaking and her back being turned towards Nanna. Barthomeloi reacted quickly and lifted her right leg for a low backwards kick, aiming at Nanna's knee, who fortified his stance to take the hit without any worrysome effects. This was answered by Lorelei using the knee to leap up and backflip right over Nanna, getting behind him.
She then gripped his torso with her arms to get a very tight lock on him and proceeded to give him the possibly mightiest German Suplex the world ever saw, slamming Nanna's neck into the ground with such force of impact that it cratered the whole ground for a Radius of almost 50 meters, with about 20 meters depth. Upon Impact, Barthomeloi leapt up immediately, not leaving anything by chance and prepared a drop kick, aiming it at the position of Nanna. However, he recovered after the Suplex very quickly and evaded with a flip backwards while his hands were connected to the ground. The moment Lorelei hit the ground and he evaded, Nanna followed by a sweeping kick, then with a spinning fly-kick to send her back a couple meters. But he had no time to rest as Luvia came from above with a guillotine kick, to which he sidestepped it before he prepared another 'Standing Upward Cannon', but suddenly felt a strong zap in his shoulder which halted his movement. He reacted fast and just sideway-kicked Luvia and used the impact to propel himself back.
"What the hell..." Nanna thought to himself as he tried to move his right arm, but it didn't work. He then thought back to the Suplex and how he hit his neck really hard against the ground, and even with the strong reinforcement magecraft invoked, he guessed he took some damage. "I see... one of my spinal cords is displaced..." He concluded before he reached with his left hand back to feel up along his spine's upper quarter along his neck until he felt a slight abnormality in the formation by tapping at it repeatedly. Once he determined what damage he suffered and how to fix it, he did, moving his left hand's backside to his chin's right half, tilting his head to the right carefully before suddenly giving a strong ruck with the arm, propelling the chin upwards and causing a very loud crack to appear. Almost on command, his right arm moved again. "Easy" He then commented to himself.
He then projected Shirou's Longbow and prepared Cadalborg II in his free hand, preparing the bow and aiming it at Lorelei.
"You think I will let you!" She said, but as she took a step forward, suddenly a Kanshou impaled her foot, causing her to yelp out in pain.
"Shirou's knowledge of his powers was so limited, so weak. Blinded to the versatility and range, he only ever projected weapons for close combat, never considering the use of projecting them underground as traps and using timed reinforcement to enlargen them like spikes." Nanna monologued before he fired Cadalborg II at Lorelei, who couldn't dodge due to her foot being impaled, and by lifting it along the blade, she risked cutting it in half completely.
"Hell no!" Rin interjected and got between the two, throwing five gems in the air before her, which caused all 5 of them to shatter and form a shield before her and Lorelei. The Shield was assymetrically displaced, which caused Cadalborg II to budge sideways as it impacted, and punctured, the shield, flying past the two women and into one of the Castle's towers, causing it to fall and damage some other building within its structure.
Nanna then leapt up again as he projected Gae Bolg in his hand, this time a strong enough replica that it was able to charge itself up for the destructive release of its Anti-Army might. As the cursed spear was charging and the sickly red energy was focusing on its tip, Luvia and Rin put together their gems, a total of 13, which all dissolved and formed a very strongly concentrated shield at the size of a regular buckler and they lifted the shield 5 meters above ground and aimed at the Spear. When Nanna fired it, the shield hit against the Spear, but it lasted barely 3 seconds before Gae Bolg broke through. However, in those 3 seconds, the three women retreated enough to escape being impaled by the spear itself and were instead engulfed by its explosion, all of them sent flying and momentarily ko.
"I shall Kill, and I shall let Live..." Amakusa prayed to himself, kissing his cross before he drew out his Katana. "I shall harm and heal."
"The Mantra of an executioner... the killers of the Church, tasked with the purification of all those who cannot or will not be saved." Nanna commented as he recognized it and gave Amakusa a sickening grin before he projected a weapon that Amakusa was unfamiliar with. It was a Mace, a very large mace. It was shaped more stereotypically. Long body, top side was a large, spiked ball. But the difference was that the body was also spiked all across its length, and the spikes were seemingly random in overall structure, no two having the same length, same angle, same width or any parallels. Each Spike on it was unique from the looks of it, and it was pitch black, with only the first inch of every tip being coloured golden. The most outstanding feature however was that the tip, the ball-like head of the Mace, had two eyes and a mouth carved into it, and the eyes were constantly drooling small drops of a red liquid that looked identical to blood.
"What kind of weapon is this... this isn't part of Emiya Shirou's Arsenal..."
"No, but it is part of mine. This is a cheap replica, very weak compared to the original, a divine construct that belonged to the Sumer God of War and Hunting, Ninurta. The Mace has its own mind and thought, well the original one does. This one has no will of its own, but it is still the weapon of a War God." Nanna explained before he leapt up and aimed at an overhead-strike with it.
Amakusa evaded by rolling sideways, but the Mace hit the ground hard enough to shatter it beneath both of them and cause light tremors. Amakusa got no rest, as not a second after the impact, the Mace was swung again and he had to lean back to dodge it before trying to counterattack, but he was blocked by Nanna using the lower end of the Mace's body to flick the blade sideways, then rotated it with himself as the axis and swung the head half at the Priest, who leapt above and very, very narrowly dodged it with his back pointed down against it, feeling one of its many edges cut a fine line into his Yukata's backside, and while his skin remained untouched, it was a sign that this was too close for comfort. Then, the Mace was swung at him yet again, this time as a close-distance throw and Amakusa had to once again evade, this time with a sidestep, and once again too narrow for his liking, lightly scratching the red mantil piece on his chest.
After the evasion, Amakusa started trading blows with Nanna, their fists meeting fiercely and with speed, but Amakusa had the advantage from the looks of it due to more finesse in combat experience, blocking Nanna's attacks with one hand while countering simultaneously with the other, making very short-distance high-speed attacks with his fists and varying between attacks to the face, chest or abdomen. Even with all of the improvements from having a god within it, Emiya's Body was still ultimatedly human, and thus had its limits, limits that Amakusa was breaking through as slowly, hit by hit started to connect and Nanna's defence was crumbling. Amakusa performed an overhead hammer-strike with his arm, which Nanna blocked with both of his. Amakusa then pulled along both of Nanna's arms with the hand that did the hammer strike to force him to bend forward, so Amakusa followed by a knee-kick into his abdomen, followed by a backhand-hammerstrike from the side with the other arm, causing Nanna to be thrown back a step. Amakusa was about to perform a lunge with a materialized Black Key but Nanna caught him by his arm, grasping it too firmly for the Priest to be able to escape.
"If you ever heard of Sharur, you should know one thing about it..." Nanna spoke, which suddenly alerted Amakusa to what was behind him as the mace was suddenly there, hitting his back at full force, impaling it with many of its spikes. This was followed by Nanna heelkicking him into the Mace hard to deepen the spike stabs in his back and cause him to fall backwards and land ontop of the mace before rolling to his stomach, unable to make a sound from the pain. "Sharur was also know as the Mace that can fly Autonomously. Its flying enchantment was the forefather to the later forged legendary Mjolnir, hammer of Thor."
With Amakusa heavily wounded and dealt with, Nanna tossed Sharur aside, causing it to de-materialize like all other projected weapons that were no longer of use and he began approaching the Castle. However, just a few steps in, he felt a very mighty shot in his shoulder, causing him to fall forward from the impact and grunt out in pain. As he got up, he saw Luvia land before him after a powerful leap, leaving damage on the ground on where her feet connected.
"You throw another one of those at me and I am going to get very angry!"
"Luvia, the Forgotten one" Nanna spat back at her, causing her to whip out 6 jewels in total. "You are cursed to be unloved. Surrender and I just might create a world where you get your shirou after all."
"My only curse is what you are doing to him and with him. Time I dispelled it."
"Then come, little girl!"
Luvia tossed the 6 jewels into the air, and they began to home towards Nanna, glowing brightly before they blew up just before impact with him, blinding him and cutting his arms with many tiny crystalline shards. As the smoke and light subdued, Nanna saw that Luvia leapt at him with a flying kick to the face, flipping back when it connected to be immediately on her feet by the time he recovered, stepping forward for an uppercut, reinforcing her fist for more power. This followed a simultaneous double-punch to his chest, causing him to fling back 3 meters. He recovered right away, however, and leapt forward to literally slap Luvia's hands away before gripping her by her hair with one hand, pulling her down to knee her in the face, then delivered a chained uppercut-combo to her abdomen, gradually lifting her off the ground as a result before he winded up for one massive right hook and sent her flying back a good distance.
Then, Nanna materialized Caliburn and thrust forward, causing it to fire a small but concentrated beam from the distance, which Luvia blocked by sacrificing more jewels for another shield, letting the beam be blocked before she dashed forward, with said beam streaming past her right side. She went in fast, using a spinning kick to force Nanna's left arm down, and as soon as she landed, she turned around her axis and did a powerful left hook to the face of the possessed body of Shirou, forcing him down to one knee. She didn't relent and immediately used her right foot to kick Nanna in the chin before using a second kick with the same foot to send him flying a few meters.
When Nanna landed, he got up on his feet again, but felt something on his cheek. He reached up with his right hand to feel a drop of blood from a small cut wound induced by the girls knuckle to his cheek. "Credit where credit is due, you dared make a God bleed."
"You're not a god, not while you're still in his body."
"Not for long."
With his words spoken, Nanna gripped into the ground and materialized a lot of weapons underground, causing it to become shaken and unstable, as if it were a localized earthquake, causing Luvia's footing to be unstable. In result, she couldn't react in time when Nanna approached her, gripped her leg and flipped her over so she landed on her back. The moment she connected to the ground, her arms rose up as a guard because Nanna started to go for the face, punch after punch, hitting into her guard and bruising her hands even with her Reinforcement active, causing her face to bleed from cuts and swell from the bruises and get an obvious colour of blue from ruptured blood vessels under the skin. After about 30 punches, he lifted her up by gripping her throat with his right hand and materialized Bakuya-handgun in his left hand and fired a close-up shot into her belly, a bullet of pure mana which resulted in a burning wound against her skin ontop of sending her flying a long distance, screaming out in pain before coughing to the point of almost vomiting.
She slowly got up and saw that Nanna approached her, slowly, step by step, and she used 3 jewels to shatter them and take their temporarily stored Mana to charge up a continuous Gandr Shot from her fingertips, a Gandr Beam, so to speak. Nanna blocked it by materializing a shield on his left arm and took the blow, so Luvia doubled the intensity by doing the same with her other hand, firing a contiuous, undending Gandr-shot from all 10 fingertips. As it didn't seem to work, she began walking towards him as well until they were in hand-to-hand range and she stopped, gripping the shield to pull it aside and kick Nanna in the low abdomen, or so she tried as Nanna blocked with his right hand by gripping her ankle and lifting her above ground before then using the hold on the ankle to slap her on the ground a few times like a sack of potatoes, swinging her left, right, left and right again, then lifted her up to check if she was conscious, and since she was, he slapped her into the ground two more times before throwing her a distance.
Luvia had blurry vision at this point, coughing blood from her mouth as she got up. Her head was quite severely wounded at this point, any more impact to it and she worried about a heavy concussion. Being conscious with this type of damage was already beyond human capability and Luvia knew it, so she only had one more attack left. She began humping towards Nanna, jewel at the ready in her hand before it shattered and she was propelled forward in a manner that seemed like somthing exploded at her back and sent her flying. She swung her fist at him as hard as she could, but Nanna evaded simply by tilting his head aside and materialized a regular dagger in his hands before stabbing Luvia with both, her reinforcement magecraft faltering from stress and being sub-optimal, allowing the stab to happen.
She coughed up more blood as she looked down at her wounds, then at Nanna, gasping out her breaths.
"Hm, at least Shirou's trust in you wasn't completely misplaced. In a few decades, you might have offered a real challenge." Nanna declared as he pushed the daggers deeper into Luvia, and thus also pressed her backwards a few steps before suddenly letting the daggers go, making the blonde fall to her back, exhaling a deep breath before she went unconscious.
Nanna glanced around to see if anyone else was going to fight, and saw negatives. Barthomeloi seemed knocked out, Sieg was being treated by Rin so he doesn't die while Rin was glaring daggers at him. El-Melloi II only had a stern and serious look, expressing his awareness of the failure of this confrontation. Gordes and Roche were seeing to the other wounded, which meant no one was left.
And so, Nanna made his way into the castle, and looked around for a moment before chuckling out. "Such poor taste in architecture." He commented, dissing the castle design before he projected Cadalborg II in his hand, aiming it down at the ground before focusing it to activate. Even as an imitation, the weapon had the ability to drill through anything, and so Nanna made use of it by puncturing his way into the cave below, falling the hefty distance until he connected with the ground. "Heh... no one else here, huh? This means..." He spoke and glanced up ahead to see the Great Holy Grail, just a hundred meters before him.
He started to walk towards it, step by step, taking his time to be wary of surroundings. As he got closer to it, however, his guard dropped more and more until he was just a few meters before it. "Finally... finally, I can re-create the Age of Gods... finally..." He spoke.
But he spoke to soon.
Suddenly, a crack was heard, about 25 meters behind him. He turned his head around to see that there was a crack, but it was in the air. A crack akin to how one would imagine reality breaking. And then, another crack, and another, and another, until eventually an armored hand came through, swinging in a half-circle before it and the entire thing shattered, now known to be Gwydion's Reality Marble that was broken apart.
And the only thing Nanna saw worth seeing was Mordred. "No... this isn't... this is Mordred Pendragon, but..." He could see something was different.
Her Armor looked the same by structure, but it was differently coloured. It was completely blue, with the red spots over it being replaced by white lines, opposite to the previous grey and red. Her Helmet was off, revealing her face, to which Nanna noted her hair was wilder and longer, and not tied to a Ponytail, allowing its full length to be displayed, reaching just past her rear. Her eyes were heterochromic, one being the green that was known, and the other being golden. But perhabs the most prominent feature was what she was holding in her hand, since it was Clarent in one hand, but she held something else in the other. Excalibur Morgan was in her other hand.
"You... who are you..." Nanna questioned, as he couldn't get any data on her from his 'Authority of Infinite Knowledge', that allowed him to immediately know about anything earthen-made if he sees it once.
Assassin of Black, who was on the ground, heavily wounded, her body beginning to dissolve into particles, chuckled out before she responded. "That... is your doom..."
On queue, Mordred suddenly disappeared and re-appeared right before Nanna, kicking him in the chin and sending him flying through the cave roof and the castle buildings until he was roughly 200 meters above the ground he just fought the group earlier. Mordred re-appeared before him in the blink of an eye and drop-kicked him back to ground, sending him towards the fields to the backside of the Castle, opposite to the main entrance.
Nanna took a moment to recover from this, coughing out as he got up, holding his left shoulder tightly from it being injured, and as he glanced forward, he saw Mordred already standing, at the ready.
"You..." Nanna spoke, but then he eyes Clarent again. Something about it was... off. He couldn't tell, but this didn't feel like Mordred's Clarent at all, not to him. Then it hit him. "I see... so that's how it is! That is what you did!"
Mordred just wordlessly lifted her head in a sign of pride, a small smirk on her face as she listened.
"Before you stole it, Clarent was known as the Sword of Crowning that selected the kings of Britain, with your Father being the last person. After that, the Sword's meaning was lost in your corrupted use of it to slay Arthur... but you restored its meaning, its true purpose. The 'Sacred Blade that chooses the King', the avatar of the throne of all of Britain's history... and by doing so, you became a Divine Spirit capable of holding the True Clarent."
"You are right..." Mordred spoke, revealing her voice to be changed, deeper, more matured. "I am no longer Mordred Pendragon, child of Arthur and Morgan, and yet I am... but with this blade, I am also something else." She continued, affirmating Nanna's suspicion. "I am the embodiment of a conceptual entity, a Divine Spirit that should not be able to exist in physical form. An Earth Mother Goddess without form, given form. Without purpose, given purpose."
Nanna narrowed his eyes while he used Shirou's projection to create a downgraded Excalibur in his hand, preparing himself for a very serious fight to come. "The Divine Spirit that should not exist... The bearer of the Authority of Kingship, the destiny of all those meant to wield the crown. Artificial Deity: Goddess Britannia."
