A/N: Because I felt like posting :) A compilation of three of my Next-Gen head-canons: Lily plays pro Quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies, she's a Slytherin, and Percy is her godfather. Not bad for less than 300 words!
Ginny held tightly to Harry's arm as they approached the players' entrance at Holyhead; he was much more experienced than she at navigating a crowd under the Invisibility Cloak. Ginny's position as Quidditch reporter for The Daily Prophet would have given her a legitimate reason to attend the post-draft press conference, but seeing as Harry wanted to come too and neither one of them wanted to deflect attention away from their daughter's hard-earned accomplishment, the Cloak was the logical choice.
″Lily, what do you have to say about the rumor that you got this job because of your mother's relationship with the Harpies as a former player?″ a reporter asked.
Lily shrugged. ″Everybody said Mum got her position because she was sleeping with Harry Potter, and we all know how that turned out.″ The reporters laughed. ″Watch and see, that's what I say.″
″She's good,″ Ginny said in some surprise.
″She's like you,″ Harry said.
″What about you? Who are you sleeping with, Lily?″
Harry made a low noise in his throat and Ginny shushed him.
″His name is Leo,″ Lily said promptly. ″He's got brown eyes and he's very loyal.″ She paused while the press corps leaned forward with baited breath. Under the Invisibility Cloak, Harry and Ginny grinned at one another.
″He also has a mane and a tail, because he's the stuffed lion my godfather gave me when I was born.″
The disappointed reporters groaned in unison.
″But, Lily, weren't you a member of Slytherin House, not Gryffindor like your parents?″
″They know good and well she's a Slytherin,″ Harry grumbled. ″They didn't shut up about it for weeks.″
Ginny patted his arm. There was no reasoning with Harry about the press coverage of Lily's Sorting, even eight years later.
″Yes, well, Uncle Percy was never much of a Seer,″ Lily said dryly, and Harry and Ginny laughed.
