Saguru POV
Why is this so awkward?
"Because you know exactly how he became Captain, and you actually did like Shinji, Saguru-chan." Ryo-Hime answered for me.
"Eh, right... Thank you for that wonderful reminder, dear." I can't keep the sarcasm from creeping in as I face my brother, bento box in hand.
"Anytime!" is my too cheerful reply from the voice in my head.
It had been a month since the exile of the Vizard, and Sosuke, Tousen, and Gin had become captains. I didn't know Tousen as well as I knew Gin, so I didn't bother visiting him, but I had given Gin his lunch I made, telling him it was for getting the Captain position.
While he seemed thrilled on getting the free food, I couldn't help but notice the twitch on the Captain comment. I wonder if he felt a bit guilty? Who knew with that sly fox grinning double agent.
I seriously have to figure out a way to make sure he lives through this. (He's a good friend and a great helper in driving others around the bend.)
But now I'm suppose to give food to my brother for congratulations on getting Captain. Of course I sneak in through the Lieutenant's window like always (it's a habit), and almost get myself cut for my trouble by what seems to be the fourth seat officer. (Forgot my brother wasn't a Lieutenant anymore; of course he got a new one.)
Yay for reflexes!
They actually gaped when they take a good look at me fully, recognizing the similarities between me and my brother.
Who could actually work the Captain's uniform to my surprise; in my experience, it really only looks good on Unohana-sama and the Thirteenth worn the correct way.
Seems my brother has entered that little group.
After some explanations…
("Yes, I'm his brother, twin at that. No, I'm not really evil, I was just fucking with everyone's mind there… Oh come on, I am not a bad influence!" (Irony really is a spice in life, truly it is.))
…I was finally left alone with my brother.
Hence awkwardness.
"It's so weird, you being Captain; I actually have to be more polite around you now." I can't help but say, trying to get rid of that silence.
"Is it too much to ask for you to follow procedures and guidelines?" Awesome, I got amusement!
"Yeah, thing about guidelines; I take them as suggestions for what to do, not what I have to do." I answer with a grin, getting my twin to shake his head.
(So, I might like pirates. Just a little.)
And while I would like to say something about Shinji, I know better not too. It would ruin the relaxed atmosphere with my brother faking sorrow at the lack of the blonde's presence.
Speaking of which…
"I bring nutrition and tofu," I say, placing the bento before my brother on his desk, "Congrats on making Captain."
I get a genuine smile from my brother at that.
While he opens the lunch to eat, me plunking a rice ball from it, I chew as my thoughts swirl. Change what I can, I may do, but some things are meant to be enjoyed before they change forever.
(Because despite everything, I only trust three people in this whole world; my sensei, my devoted little trap, and my twin.)
Enjoying the time I have left with my brother like this is something I will enjoy before he betrays everyone.
(AN)- So I wanted to get an update out as soon as possible, so a wonderful friend of mine let me use their computer.
Saguru- "After you groveled and cried long enough for them to give in just to shut you up."
Me-... Shut up...
But yeah, just wanted to let everyone know that I am so grateful for your understanding and I hope that you continue to be patient with this author. So Thank You all and I hope you all continue to follow this story of mine.
