Chapter Eight

Permafrost

Through the past hour or so, the students of class 1-A faced off against each other during this training exercise. For those who won their fight with either heroes or villains, they would move to the next round. Lily was a bit impressed by some of the quirks she saw being displayed on the screen during the matches she watched. Out of the twenty students in her class, Todoroki, Midoriya, Tokoyami, and Kirishima quirks stood out the most to her and Artoria.

"Ice that reaches as far as the sky and covers the earth, strength to rival that of the gods, a shadowy familiar at your beckon call, and a body that can harden to protect yourself from certain damage." Artoria said as she seemed a bit impressed by the display of the students' quirks. "The boy with the ice and fire quirk along with the body with strength rivaling that of a servant will prove to be a challenge when you have to fight them."

"Todoroki yes, Midoriya...not so much if I'm being honest. Mainly because of how he doesn't have control over his own strength. I mean, smart move on using his finger to blast away his opponent's attack. But it caused a crap ton of damage to him. It's like he was given a power that his body's not ready for."

"That is true, but still be careful when fighting him. You're strong, but not as strong where you can take on a servant level strength like that."

"I kinda figured as much." Lily thought before feeling Momo tap her on the shoulder, which broke her out of her conversation with the divine spirit.

"We're up next." She said with a worried expression on her face. Lily took notice of her partner's expression before looking over at All Might who was holding the ball with their team's letter on it, and Todoroki's team on it, which consisted of himself and Shoji.

"...I get the feeling they're doing this on purpose after what I did during the match with Bakugo." Lily said before turning his attention onto Momo.

"I don't think so. I mean, he isn't looking at the boxes when he pulls out the teams that will go against each other. At least this time we'll be going after the bomb while they protect the bomb."

"The metal bunnies can help protect you from the ice for a good couple of minutes. But you'll be on your own when they end up freezing from his ice."

"It also doesn't help that he can attack from long range after what we saw on the screen with his fight with Ojiro and Hagakure. This might be a one sided match. Unless you have something to deal with Todoroki's ice?"

"...I might have something for it...but it won't last long."

"What do you mean by that?" Momo asked as Lily noticed All Might looking at the two as she felt the bunny girl drag her to the training ground.

"I'll explain on the way. All I can say is that you'll have to deal with Shoji if this team is anything like Bakugo." She said as the two teams walked off. As the two teams walked off, All Might turned his attention onto the display screen as the two teams made their way to the training grounds.

"This isn't something I prefer to do, but given what happened with the match with Young Bakugo, and what she did to Endeavor. We have to see how strong she is, and what she has under her belt." He thought while still looking at the screen with a smile on his face to hide how worried he was with Lily. It's not that he's worried about her becoming a villain, but it's the fact that she's willing to kill without remorse of any kind. If she were to become a hero, who's to say she won't go back to killing villains in secret. He needs to know ways to counter her quirk. Hence why he's having her fight up against Todoroki.

As the two combatants make their way to their respective sides of the battlefield, Lily and Momo secretly begin to make their way over to where Todoroki and Shoji were located. During this time while making their way to where the fake bomb was located, Momo and Lily began to discuss their plan in taking down the two heroes.

"So what was the plan on taking care of Todoroki's ice?" Momo asked as she noticed Lily reaching into her tail to pull out some colorful gemstones. "...Um...I don't think bribing them with stones will help us with this."

"They're not stones...well gemstones to be accurate." Lily said before picking up a red gemstone as it had a strange symbol on it as it glowed bright and gave off a small heat. "I did a bit of an experiment a while back when I was ten with my ma...quirk. Turns out I can apply certain elements to gemstones. Meaning that I can create an area that can melt Todoroki's ice."

"...What is your quirk?" Momo asked as Lily simply shrugged. "I mean it. You can make metal bunny things, shoot lasers, and now gemstones that you only see in video games...What is your quirk?"

"Again, I don't know. Remember I told you that I was born without any parents and the orphanage I was in was...not good. So you can't expect me to have all the answers to your questions...sadly." Lily said as Momo noticed a sad expression on the bunny girl's face.

"R-Right...sorry. I didn't mean to come off aggressive. It's just that...your quirk is...it's just weird." She said before realizing what she said. "N-Not in a bad way mind you. Just weird in a unique way that's very helpful."

"I kinda figured as much." Lily said before noticing that they were making their way to the other side of the field as she stopped along with Momo. "The gemstone should help with his ice, though, not so much with his fire."

"I don't think he'll be using his fire. From what I saw, he seems to have his left side covered in ice for some reason. It's as if he doesn't want to use it."

"He used it to unthaw Ojiro and Hagakure when he froze their feet in ice. We can't just assume he's not going to use his fire. So we'll have to keep our guard up." Lily said before clenching the gemstone in her hand. "The gemstone only lasts for a good three minutes."

"That's good and all, but what about Shoji? Knowing how Todoroki will be fighting you, Shoji might come up from behind and take you by surprise."

"That's where you'll come in." Lily said before reaching into her tail again to pull out a blue and purple gemstone. "Blue one will increase your strength, purple your endurance." She said before handing them to Momo.

"...I'm going to assume these were made by your quirk?" Momo asked as she nodded. "Alright, how do I activate them?"

"Pretty much just crush them with your hands. And let the magic of my quirk do the rest." She said before Heading off to where Shoji and Todoroki are. The moment she was close to them and was about to turn a corner around a giant boulder, the bunny girl quickly jumped high into the air as she avoided a stream of ice heading her way. She soon landed on a nearby mountain of rocks as she glared down at Todoroki and Shoji who's heading off to find Momo.

"I knew you were quick during the fight with Bakugo. But I didn't think you were that quick when it comes to dodging." Todoroki said as Lily landed a few feet in front of him.

"Not that hard to dodge when you know what you're dealing with. Especially from the fight you had, which really helped in my case."

"So you're the villain killer. Hard to believe someone like you sent my father flying with just a kick."

"...Do I know what you're talking about?"

"You're all over the internet and news. You're the villain killer that took down my father, Endeavor and Ryukyu."

"...That could be any villain killer." She said as Todoroki stared at her with a deadpan expression and a raised eyebrow. "Alright, fine. It's me. What? Are you angry because I beat your daddy in a fight or something?"

"No, I'm not. What my father does doesn't concern me." He said as ice began to form on the ground where his foot was. "It's clear you're on a different level then most of the students in our class. But with me, it's a different story. You may be fast, but I doubt your speed will matter if the entire field was covered in ice." With a twist of his foot, the ice forming around his foot quickly spreads around the area they're in. Lily once again jumped into the air to avoid the ice, as she saw a wall of ice heading towards her. "Got you."

"Nope," Lily said as she twisted her body around in the air to avoid some of the ice spikes heading towards her, landed on top of it, and used it as a railing to slide down upon it while heading towards Todoroki. "It would be me who got you ice boy."

Todoroki would have the same blank expression on his face as he shot out more ice just like before. The circuit lines on her legs lit up as she jumped into the air to avoid the ice heading towards her. Once in the air, she looked over at where the bomb was located as she tried her best to head towards it. Only to be met with a wall of ice blocking her sight as she lands onto the ground, but soon dodges to the left to avoid a stream of ice heading her way.

"Ice spamming jerk. It's bad enough he's pushing me away from the bomb, but I can't use my Noble Phantasm due to how long it'll take to gather enough energy to use it. Not to mention the speed of his ice is fast." She thought before looking down at the gemstone she was holding. "No choice then."

"Give up. You can't beat me if all you can do is dodge." Todoroki said as he noticed a grin appearing on Lily's face.

"If I was anyone one else in this class or school, then I would give up. But I'm not. I'm the villain killer for a reason." The circuit lines in her arms began to glow as she threw the gemstone into the air above her. Once she did that, the Pseudo Servant quickly charged at Todoroki who took notice of her changing at him.

"Pathetic." He said before launching a stream of ice towards her. Feets away before hitting Lily, the gemstone she threw up into the air that Todoroki paid no attention to exploded. As the gem exploded, a red dome appeared around the two as the ice surrounding them quickly melted into water.

"Bit of a heads up. You should never use an attack like that." She said as she slid in front of Todoroki. Once she was close to him, she soon delivered a strong right hook to his liver and a left hook to his face after he staggered from the pain he felt from the right hook. Upon getting hit with the right hook, the tumbles over to the side as Lily bolts it over to the bomb. As she was about to touch the bomb, she quickly jumps and spins to the right to avoid being grabbed by some ice made by Todoroki before turning into water. "Damn, I was hoping for the heat to keep you from making ice. Then again it's just a prototype gemstone."

"The hell did you do?" Todoroki asked as he staggered to his feet.

"Just something I made with my quirk when I was ten. Never know when you have to fight against an elemental quirk user." She said before cracking her knuckles. "Sadly, the dome lasts for three minutes. But that's enough time for me to handle you. Especially seeing how you rely so much on the ice part of your quirk."

"I can still use my quirk even with this dome you made." He said before demonstrating it by firing off more ice at her with a twist of his foot, only to turn into water halfway as she was doused in water. Upon being hit by the ice turn into water attack, certain parts of her clothed a bit visible to the people watching the fight. Mainly Kaminari and Mineta who were excited upon seeing this, only for Jiro to use her quirk to plug into their ears and send soundwaves throughout their bodies.

"Yeah, but it'll turn into water in less than a couple of seconds." She said before charging at him. Once she was close, the Pseudo Servant quickly dodges a weak attempt at a punch from Todoroki and appears behind him. As she was behind him, Lily wrapped her arms around his waist, lifted him up into the air, and suplexed him to the ground. The Pseudo Servant quickly flipped around as she jumped onto Todoroki's back, pinned him, and quickly placed the capturing tape around his wrist. "I don't know why you're not using your fire and frankly I don't care. But if you're planning on becoming a hero, then you need to take this seriously and not think of this as pointless training."

"Both heroes have been captured! The winners are once again Lily and Momo!" All Might yelled after the air horn echoed throughout the training ground.

"It looks like Momo took care of Shoji." Lily said as she untied Todoroki and was about to get off of him, only to feel him push her off by getting up as she fell backwards into the water. "What the hell you jerk!" She yelled before pulling herself up and was about to tell him off, only to see him storming off. "Punk ass bitch." She said before noticing Momo and Shoji walking over to her, though the Pseudo Servant blinks upon seeing a blue aura around Momo, and purple aura around Shoji.

"Um...I think I might've messed up when you told me how the gemstones work." Momo said with a slight blush on her face.

"This stuff around me isn't a permanent thing...is it?" Shoji asked as Lily shook her head.

"Naw, the effects will wear off in about a minute or two. So you'll be fine...Just make sure you don't hit anything or let someone hit you due to the effects wearing off within the time limit." Lily said before walking towards where All Might and the others are. As she was walking off, Momo and Shoji followed after Lily but at a distance so she couldn't hear them talking about her. Mainly as to who or what she is.

"Nice job on taking down the ice boy. I'm a bit surprised you still kept onto the gemstones you made when you were a kid." Artoria said as Lily smirked.

"Well it was my first attempt with magecrafting. Granted they may not be perfect, but it's something that I was proud of making."

"Well with my guidance, you did a good job. But remember that you still need to improve on your magic a bit more. Mainly because of what happened to the two kids walking behind you."

"Yeah, I'll get to work on that once the day is over with. I still have about two more rounds of this before we can call it a day or so."
