Hermione's eyes could not have been any wider. She looked up at Draco, who had just confessed to loving her and she could feel her heart beating fast. She could also feel herself feeling fuller than usual, since Draco had pushed himself deep inside her before he told her.
Suddenly, she found herself smiling and giddy. Her smile reached her eyes and she pulled Draco down to kiss him and wrapped herself around him.
"Draco, I love you too. Oh my Merlin, do I love you…" She gasped as the friction between the both of them caused her great pleasure.
He didn't realize he was holding in a breath until those words escaped her mouth. He smiled along with her and it was the first time she truly saw a twinkle in the silver of his eyes.
"You're all mine?" he asked, pulling back slowly.
"Yours and only yours." She nodded solemnly, touching her hand to his cheek. They smiled at each other before he ground his hips into hers.
Moans began to fill the room as he thrust into her. It was different from all the other times they have had sex. This time was the first time they made love.
It was slow and gentle; he went deep inside her before pulling back as far as he could without the tip leaving her. She would hum from the pleasure and bite his shoulder to contain her emotions.
They moved in sync and eventually Hermione felt her insides tighten. Everything was hot and she was sweating. She noticed Draco was too, even though it was quite cold outside. She gave him a passionate kiss before losing herself to the orgasm that had just overcome her insides.
Draco went slower, making sure Hermione was able to ride out her pleasure before he decided to let go and empty himself out inside of her. The warmth of the liquids between them made fell on the sheets as he pulled himself out.
He kissed her forehead before moving to lay next to her, taking her hand in his.
"Mm, that was perfect." She purred, nuzzling her head into his chest.
"I love you." He whispered into her curly hair and she looked up to kiss his jaw.
"I love you, too."
They fell asleep in each other's arms – not bothering with using the sheets.
Draco was on his way to sit by the lake when Hermione found him. He took great care in noticing that her eyes were rimmed with red and she couldn't stop sniffling. The students around them gave them weird looks, but no one questioned why Hermione was coming up to him.
"Can we talk?" she asked in a strained voice. He simply nodded and followed her back into the castle. She found a vacant classroom and placed a locking and silencing charm around the room before bursting into tears.
"Ron – he's been poisoned." She cried into Draco's arms. His eyes went wide and he looked down at the witch before him.
"Ho-how?" although he had a feeling he knew how.
"Professor Slughorn gave him some mead that someone had given him during Christmas. It was supposed to make its way to Dumbledore yet he kept it." She sniffled. Draco cursed under his breath.
"Is he…okay?"
"Yes, Harry managed to give him a bezoar before the poison did any damage to him. But Draco, this is the second time someone's gotten hurt from your stupid attempts." She said while pushing him away. Suddenly she didn't find comfort in his arms.
Hermione noticed how pale Draco became. He looked at the ground, not being able to look her in the eye. He sat down against the wall, unsure of what to do next.
"You need to tell Dumbledore. Now. He will help you." She said, firmly.
"It's not that easy…"
"Well, it's not going to get easier, is it!?" She yelled at him. He glared at her with his piercing eyes.
"Hermione, once I do that, I won't have anybody. My family will disown me and I might as well go ahead and paint a target on my head cause I'm done for!" Draco panicked. He didn't want things to be this complicated. He slumped his shoulders and placed his head in his hands not sure of what to do. After a few short moments, he felt Hermione's gentle touch on his shoulders and he looked up at her.
She kissed his forehead and rubbed his cheek.
"You have me, okay? I'll help you get through this." Draco realized that Hermione was right. He believed that everything would be just fine with her beside him. He pulled her into a gentle kiss – their lips both felt fragile.
The door suddenly burst open.
"Hermione! Why are you – what's going on." Harry said from the doorway. Hermione pulled away from Draco, but not before he could grasp her hand in his. They stood in front of Harry, holding their ground together.
"Harry, close the door." Hermione commanded. Harry glared at Draco and gave Hermione confused looks, but he followed her directions nonetheless.
"What is this?"
"Draco is my – my boyfriend. I love him, Harry." Hermione simply said. Harry didn't know how to react. He was bewildered by all the information that was being thrown at him. His other best friend was currently in the hospital wing and he had just found out that the best friend in front of him was dating their long time rival. Before he knew it, Voldemort was going to come crashing out of nowhere to let him know that he was actually his uncle.
"What?" he decided this was a safe word.
"Me and Draco are in a relationship." Hermione said a little slower this time. He wasn't handling it like she thought he would which was screaming and throwing things around.
"Why?" Harry asked.
This definitely took both Hermione and Draco by surprise.
"Why not?" Draco asked in return. This snapped Harry out of his quiet state of mind.
"Yes, why the hell are you dating this ferret of a prat? How did this even start?" Harry spat out towards the both of them. They exchanged looks with one another, but they didn't know how to handle telling him.
"Well – that's a bit… complicated." Hermione said, twirling her hair around one finger.
"It can't get much more complicated than it already is." Harry told her, sitting down in one of the empty desks. He motioned for the both of them to sit next to him.
"Should I just tell him everything then?" Hermione asked Draco while biting her lip.
"I guess you could spare him the more…intimate details. But, be my guest." Draco smirked before pulling her towards Harry and sitting down in the desk Harry pointed at.
"Okay. Well – Harry it began when umm… How should I say this…" She fumbled with her words and began to blush a deep shade of red. This was not how she wanted her best friend to find out.
"You see, Potter, Hermione and I had a sort of arrangement where we would shag each other – no strings attached. We started out as fuck buddies, so to say." Draco drawled with a smirk, resulting in him getting smacked by Hermione.
"You… YOU WHAT?" Harry couldn't believe it. Hermione then proceeded to tell him that they got intimate and then they got mad at each other (Harry wasn't surprised by that) but that was only because they realized that they did actually like each other.
"So you guys got to know each other… through bedroom talk?" Harry concluded.
"Basically. You know how I wouldn't kiss him? Well, I guess the moment we kissed was the moment we became in an exclusive relationship." Hermione said, blushing from recounting everything to Harry.
"This is insane. Does he at least treat you right?" Harry started to feel protective over his friend.
"I treat her just fine." Draco told him. "And she treats me right. I'm going to go to Dumbledore and ask him for help because of her." Draco looked at the bashful Hermione and gave her a smile.
"Ugh, you both make me sick." Harry said as he looked at them. "Hermione, just promise me that you'll let me be there when you tell Ron."
"Oh Merlin, promise me the same thing. I want to see the look on his smug face." Draco smirked.
"You both are impossible. But, does this mean you're not mad, Harry?" Hermione took hold of Harry's hands and gave him an apologetic look. He was still a red from his frustration but he took a deep breath and shook his head.
"I'm not mad. I'm confused, but not mad. I can tell that you're happy and I guess – I guess that's all that matters. I can't say much about how Ron is going to react though." Harry said giving her a small smile.
"Maybe we should go visit him right now?" She suggested, standing up. She just told one person and she was elated to tell even more.
"Can you go by yourself, Hermione? I would like to talk to Potter alone." Draco asked her. Harry gave him a suspicious look, but didn't argue.
"Are you okay with that, Harry?" she looked at him with worry clearly in her eyes.
"I'm a big boy, Hermione, I can deal with this ferret." He smirked at Draco.
"Okay," she gave Draco a peck on the lips and smiled at him. "You behave now."
She left the room and Draco looked at the expectant boy in front of him.
"I know you think I'm a bad person, but she really has changed me," he began. "I don't want to be with the 'bad guys' anymore. I want to just be able to choose what to do with my life, but I feel like that is impossible."
He took a deep breath before telling Harry about the job he was given in the summer and his attempts so far and how they haven't been at all successful. Harry was frustrated and was clenching his fist in his hand by the time Draco had finished, but not a word left his mouth.
Draco didn't want to edge him on, so he simply sat and waited for any type of movement from Harry.
"You're the reason Katie was cursed?" Harry asked.
"I am." Draco said solemnly.
"And the reason why my best mate since first year is in the hospital wing at this very moment?"
"Yes."
"And Hermione knows all of this."
"She does. I've told her everything and now she's convinced me to tell Dumbledore about it."
"Do you love her?" This was the question Draco had no problem answering.
"I love her with ever fiber of my being," he told Harry honestly. "She's the only thing right about my life and I'm not worthy of her." Draco whispered.
Harry was shocked by the innocent confession coming from the blonde Slytherin in front of him, but he trusted Hermione's instinct and knew that she made the good in people come out.
"Okay," Harry reached out his hand towards Draco. "This is absolutely insane, but I guess with the way things are going, you would be a good asset to our side. I trust Hermione's judgment but don't think that makes us mates or anything."
Draco looked at Harry's hand before shaking it in his own. "If you become my mate then I've really gone mad." Draco smirked.
"You all are bloody insane. I must still be passed out and having a nightmare." Ron said as he lay in his cot. Hermione was looking exasperated after explaining everything again. Draco sat besides her with his arms crossed looking at Ron like he was an idiot. Harry was trying to edge him on.
"No, really Ron. They are together. Like an actual couple. Found them snogging in a classroom. That's why they've been seen together a few times on the map." Harry smirked at the redhead. Ron paled at this knowledge. All three of them decided that not telling him of Hermione and Draco's… arrangement… would be the best thing. Hermione kept it simple and said they got to know each other through tutoring sessions.
"Map?" Draco whispered towards Hermione.
"I'll explain later." She whispered back. "Ron, Draco wants to tell you something too." She elbowed his arm and Draco looked at her like she was insane.
"Weasley… I'm sorry." He mumbled.
"Say wha-?"
"I'm sorry and I'm not going to say it again. That mead wasn't meant for you." Draco spat out. Hermione gave him a cross look which he shrugged off.
"Who was it for then, you fucking Death Eater?" Ron spat.
"Ron!" Hermione reprimanded him, taking Draco's hand in her own.
"No, he has the right to call me that, Hermione. I did take on the Dark Mark after all." Draco looked down. "I think we should go to Dumbledore now before I really tell anybody else about all of this. I feel sick to my stomach and I just want it to end."
"Okay, let's go see him right now?" Hermione took hold of his hand and saw Ron's bitter face. "Get used to it." She told him, before leading Draco towards the Headmaster's office. Harry decided to come along and apologized to Ron, promising to come back afterwards and let him know what was going on. They managed to leave in time before Lavender came in to see Ron. Hermione let out a sigh of relief and clutched Draco's hand tightly – not caring who saw.
Hermione had a feeling that it was going to be a long and interesting night.
Not the best chapter, but I needed something to help get me started on the next chapter! Next chapter is probably going to be the last one. Still haven't decided whether I wanted to make a sequel or not. If I do write a sequel, it will probably take place after the battle and all that jazz.
I just want to say thank you guys for all of your support and everything! You've all been the best and your reviews make me smile and I really love you all. I know it's not the best story (I never wanted it to be) but I hope you guys liked it enough!
Thank you and I hope you guys have a great rest of the week!
